I haven't posted a 6m goal, but my monthly goal is to lose 5 lbs each month. I've found if I go very slow with my weight loss, I'm able to stick to my plan much better.

My Etsy shop name is "occasionsbysarah" and absolutely take a look! :-) I've been at it since 2011 and was able to take it on full time (quit my previous full time job) in 2017. I love it!

Sarah -Beautiful!!! I also have a embroidery machine .... but just have never sold any of the things I do. I know the work involved! Your stuff is beautiful, and so happy for you that you can do this full time!!

Where do you get your designs? Have you tried Designs by JuJU? That is my favorite place to buy embroidery machine designs ... and they are not very expensive!

@Bex953172 sounds tough and I sympathise - I didn’t get my bum in gear to start losing the weight until my little one was 2 and things were easier so clearly I’m no expert here!

But while I agree with those saying not to worry about the state of the house too much, I also know for myself that when things feel messy and disordered in my house I am far more likely to deviate from my healthy living plans. It’s like tidy house, tidy mind for me. So if it’s similar for you, here’s one suggestion...

Could you make the whole teatime process start a bit earlier? Then give the girls some TV time while you clear up the kitchen before you all go up for shower time? Or maybe your partner could read them a story or feed Casey during that time? Completely see how disheartening it is coming down after battling them all into bed and then having to clean, so maybe switching things up so it’s done before their bedtime would help?

Also, not sure what they like to eat and how much freezer space you have, but as much pre-prepped food as possible could be helpful. I batch cook lasagne, bolognese sauce etc and freeze kid-size portions so I can just microwave a lot of the time and only one pot for veggies or pasta etc to clean afterwards.

And for getting the kids to help tidy up toys etc, I recommend either making it a sort of race for fun with a stopwatch, or you could try playing the song I play to my classes sometimes are tidy-up time, google Tidy Up Rhumba. Makes them laugh but they get on with it!!

Finally, if the dishwasher is being annoying maybe it’s just worth not using it at all until you can get it fixed. I get so fed up with the unloading and putting away with mine sometimes I feel like it’s just easier to wash up quickly as I go.

I think it’s really important, even if you don’t get to bed any earlier, that you have a small window of time to relax once they are in bed. You need that release time - and spending it clearing up doesn’t count!

Good luck - and remember how amazing you are for even being here with a five month old! X

Canada Day here today and I spent it with the Grands at a parade and some activities in town. It was so nice, I only spent $7.00 all day! I’m going to the fireworks with my girls tonight. kdcbc0kaagoy.jpeg

@slittlemeister I keep meaning to ask you what you're learning French for? I am studying it on Duolingo and will be adding some classes as I hope to eventually volunteer as a nurse with Doctors Without Borders and they prefer French-speaking candidates.

Thank you! :-) Your quilts are amazing! I've done a couple quilts but nothing like what you can do. I usually get my embroidery designs from other Etsy sellers or emblibrary.com but I'll have to check out the site you mentioned. I'm always looking for new embroidery designs I can use. Eventually I'd like to even get into making my own designs, but that's probably down the road a bit.

I've seen on here many times people talking about the Beck Diet Solutions book and was curious what it was, so I looked online and think I might give it a try. I can use all the help I can get on this crazy weight loss, get healthy and stay healthy ride.

For those of you who have read the book...would you recommend buying just the book, buying just the workbook, or getting both?

    July 2nd Goals:
    • Make sure I'm set with my July 3rd meal plan (July Challenge) <3
    • Cook the breakfast I planned for Tues-Fri as well as the Korean spinach side dish I'll be eating with dinners this week <3+ a crock pot chicken meal!
    • Get back on track with my daily exercise after being useless the last couple days with a migraine. Today's workout: 1) Suzanne Bowen Lower Body Mixed Cardio + Foldover Target for Week 4: Monday of the Summer Sizzler Challenge. 2) Jessica Smith 30-Day Walk Day 4: 40-Minute Mega Burn <3(+10-minute Ballet Beautiful arms video)
    • Lights out by 11 PM. Laying in bed most of the weekend due to my migraine didn't do me any favors for getting to sleep at a decent hour last night. Will sleep earlier tonight! <3It's now 10:45 PM. It was tough to get everything needed done on time- meant having to tell a few friends I couldn't message/chat tonight just to keep to my schedule. But I'm all showered with a cup of nighttime tea and lights out before 11 PM yay!

Okay I'm new to this... but I'll plan on checking in here before 10:59 PM Korea time tonight bc of my lights out goal lol. And I'll just edit the post and put an as yet undecided mark next to the tasks I accomplish. Sound right?

I'm going to try to stick with with the July challenge each day and have 1 food, 1 exercise, and 1 personal/health/well-being/possibly sometimes not even fitness-related goal each day. I look forward to getting to know everyone here a little better!

EDIT: Decided I'll post my daily intention in the morning and then quote it later on rather than going back and editing so I can separate morning and nighttime thoughts more easily. I have tomorrow's food and workouts planned out, so I'll check in in the morning. Have a great day!

P.S. At least for today, I went with the <3 to mean CHECK! ACCOMPLISHED! DONE!

I love everything you’ve said! You’ve really sussed out how to be a good mum!
I’m definitely trying some of your ideas!

    Chore chart is definitely one!
I might do a story at the dinner table. After they’ve ate enough and been good.
Ooo yes I’m loving the ideas!!
Gonna be a busy Mum today! Lol changing up the routine to a better one!

I know! It's ridiculous...and I actually go back and make cuts!!! You should see my originals...you'd still be reading, lol!!! Have a fantabulous day, Bex!

JFT - Sunday July 1 - HAPPY CANADA DAY!!!!
2L of Water - Going to take water with me on our adventures today - :)
As part of my 6 Month Goal - Sunday is a day I will allow myself to go over a bit into maintenance. Today is going to be a heavy activity day so I'll see how it goes. - :| I guess that I could count this as a goal reached since it was worded to allow a lot of wiggle room. However, I am not going to do that because after the fireworks I came home and stayed up to wait for texts that my girls got home ok and I wasn't hungry and ate at midnight!
Outside 15 Minutes - :) hours and hours outside
Write in Journal - :( No, I went to spend time with my girls instead
Pre-plan food for Monday - :| I know I promised burgers to my husband for supper

    JFT - Monday July 2
    2L of Water
    Stay in Green
    Outside 15 Minutes
    Write in Journal
    Pre-Plan food for Tuesday

I had the best day yesterday, the Grands were so well behaved. I decided that we would walk to the parade and the activities for Canada Day so I didn't have to battle parking and could get my walk in. Jonah usually complains about walking but he walked and kept up with me all day without one complaint! We walked almost 5K. I had the stroller for Michaela, but she chose to walk some with us. I couldn't believe the amount of candy that was handed out in the parade, I kept gathering some to hand back to children behind us that couldn't seem to get any and the Grands still had too much!

After the parade we went to a block party at a church nearby, there were bouncy castles, free food, free beads for the kids. The Grands decided they only wanted cake and not a hot dog, I agreed since the lineup was so long for the hot dogs. Jonah helped me carry the plates, he went and got drinks for him and his sister. He then cleared the table of the garbage while I cleaned her up. Afterward, I needed to go to the washroom and the church basement had one open to the public. When we got there I wasn't sure how to handle this with a boy, (even Grammie's have learning curves). I had Jonah hold Michaela's hand while I went into the stall. When I came out I told him to go next door to the men's room, he is at the age where privacy is very important to him. They were so well behaved that we stopped at the ice cream truck for their after cake dessert! I had one very small piece of cake and no ice cream!

We left there and walked to another area of town that had other activities. There was a game the kids could play where you dropped pennies into a jug of water and had to get the penny in a bowl through the water. Michaela of course couldn't accomplish this and she received a sucker for her efforts. Jonah was successful, he had two totes full of toys to choose from for his prize. It was hosted by the art club, so most everything was either paint, markers or play-doh. He chose a package that had two items in it so that Michaela could have one too! Talk about a proud Grammie moment! I bragged on him to everyone all night last night! We then went to stand in the line to get faces painted, and he let his sister go first! So proud of him.

We came home after that and we had an early supper, I then bathed Michaela and put her in her pj's before they left to go home so that my daughter didn't have to do it when she got home. They left and I just relaxed until my girls showed back up again around 9. My youngest started hairdressing school 4 weeks ago and has a huge project due this week. She has spent all weekend working on it. I printed for her while she finished typing up the last of her typing she needed to do. We got it all printed by 10 and went to watch an amazing fireworks display. One of my youngest daughter's friends and her boyfriend went with us, my girls spent most of the event telling her about fireworks they remembered going to see when they were younger. It made my heart smile knowing they have these happy memories.

It was just an incredibly fun, relaxing day!

Today I am home alone until hubby gets home from work. I am going to go do laundry, tidy up a bit and I have a plan to talk to my best friend. Her and I have been having trouble connecting, the time difference really makes it difficult sometimes.
