@Bex953172 I'm so glad you are feeling better! It sucks when you are such and in pain. And no goals is completely understandable! Rest up and keep taking those pills!

@Faebert Have a great day! I'm glad you are feeling better today!

I just recently joined as well and was made to feel very welcome. So .... Welcome!! :)

@cesse47 GooooooooD Morning Beautiful! You most certainly are Welcomed and Necessary, and Cared about, AND LOVED! You matter.. Our weight is a by product of nourishing everyone and everything around us except ourselves. It's Not A Blame game, it's awareness, self love, self acceptance, diligence, A Willingness to change our negatives into positives, being truthful to ourselves. THERE ARE WELLS OF UNDERSTANDING, and, STRENGTH. We openly communicate here, we don't judge. We have a full understanding that No one in this world is perfect and it's pointless trying to compare yourself to anyone else because you're not meant to be a duplicate; but an original. You're absolutely great at being yourself. You're "Fearfully and Wonderfully made".
Will you get everything right in a day? Was your house a home in a day? Life is Work Worth Working! 🌹 Sister... Enjoy this day. Don't stress about yesterday, it's gone. Don't stress about today, savor the moments, take time to breathe and hug yourself as each small thing that's being done becomes a Victory!

So I just weighed myself and I haven't gained or lost. It's absolutely amazing! Over the last week and a half I've been checking every few days and a few days I was in the 160's! I was really depressed. Before I started working again I had got down to 148. Now I'm back up to 156. It's because we've been eating a lot of take out. I'm just so tired by the time I get home from work during the week that I just want nothing to do with it. Lol. Well seeing that 156.4 has made me feel really good! I think that if I can get down to 150 again I'll be happy. That seems to be a weight that my body likes. I'm going to work on toning after that. I will always be slighty pear shaped. That's just got my genetics are but if I can make the belly slightly less round I'll be happy. Lol.

This is so me! I swear it's the reason I gained 30 pounds in the last few years. I don't like the idea of leaving a crock pot plugged in to cook while no one is in the house. Meal planning and prepping earlier seems to be a fail to me. I have been forcing myself all summer to buy bagged salads and a meat on the way home that will cook quickly. Now that "Winter" seems to be here, even though the calendar still says summer, I want hot foods, potatoes, pasta, fatty goodness, well you get the drift. I am struggling coming up with a plan for the winter and right now just hoping Fall warms up LOL

@Snowflake1968 HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Sorry it's a bit late! I hope you had fun last night! Enjoy your Sunday! And I can totally relate to the husband being addicted to WOW. My husband is like that with Destiny 2 on Xbox. Drives me crazy sometimes! Know that you are not alone! Lol

Thank you, he was doing really well with WOW he has played off and on since 2006. At one point it almost caused a divorce. He quit playing for quite a while and has been really good for the most part of taking my feelings into account when playing. The last two or three weeks though he's been playing too much for my liking. There was a new expansion that came out. I am hoping this is short lived.

    JFT -- Sunday
    1. Log all food for the day ✅
    2. Drink at least 8 glasses of water - try for 10 today ✅
    3. Walk at Home video; try to push past 10 min ✅
    4. Declutter at least one area of dining room ✅
    5. Visit Senior Services 3 centers / tour each / decide best fit (next week)
    6. Clean out refrigerator; bag garbage :/
    7. Take coat to dry cleaners (next week)
    8. Get booklet from Secy of State office (next week)

Had a good day yesterday; nearly floated away with all the water. Did my walk video twice but didn't log it since I didn't want it added to goal ... wanted to keep eating low. Success! My 2 lb gain is gone! YEA ME!! Now to get back on plan and kick some caloric butt. :)

    JFT -- Monday
    1. log all food for the day
    2. drink at least 8 glasses of water
    3. pack for overnight trip
    4. clean out frig, bag garbage and put on curb.
    5. write check and drop off property taxes on way out of town

Will be out of town for the rest of today and most of tomorrow. Not sure if I'll have internet connection. So, my plan ... write everything I eat and drink in my tablet and log it when I have access ... eat mindfully ... hopefully, make good food choices ... opt for small portions ... lean heavily towards veggies and lean meat; avoid carbs if possible. OK ... that's my plan; keeping fingers crossed (except when I'm driving LOL).

Hope Y'all have a Successful day.

👋 Hi Sisters. I want to get to know each of you better. Would you mind answering this question for me?
    *I'm my best me when_______?

Interesting question. I think I may need to do some soul searching to find the "right" answer. My gut tells me that I am my best me when surrounded by my family both by blood and those I have adopted along the way. Truthfully though I think there are other things that make me my best me.
I have found myself at peace over the last year when I started remembering to be grateful, not only on the good days, but the hard days as well.
Some days the best of me is sitting in a hot bubble bath, other days it is out walking in nature, still others it is creating and using my mind.

Wow this is a hard one to give just one answer to....

@Faebert - You remind me of my mum! Always doing so much for others, always doing so much for your own kids, and still being your best self! It was just her and I growing up for a while. I knew it was hard for her then, but I didnt know HOW hard until I grew up. She made it look easy to me and I bet you do too despite what you think/feel sometimes. Keep kicking butt!

@HEGoddard0928 - Way to maintain! That's awesome! I've been falling into the takeout/I'm too tired patterns again myself! You've inspired me to use the crockpot more tho! I made buffalo chicken last week and it was awesome to have on hand! Need to do again. @Snowflake1968 it definitely has to do with the change of season for me too. I want all the comfort foods too. I even grilled off chicken last night to have grilled chicken cesar salad but I'm over here trying to justify chicken alfredo instead :p

@maryrobinson40 I'm my best self when I'm present in the moment!

@cesse47 Great job! I'm working on water today myself! Thanks for the inspiration!

@maryrobinson40 I'm my best me when I've had enough sleep! (and when I consistently take my meds) when I don't get enough sleep I'm pretty foul tempered and when I don't take my meds I'm a psycho-b!tch LOL

What make you the best you?

Not going to find my last post to recap. The weekend was active, fun, busy, hectic, a disappointment (after regulation play ended in a tie, the Packers & Vikings battled to a tie in OT!), hot, humid, the list goes on! Had a fabulous time w/ sister and her hubby in town w/ my hubby and me. Ate too much (at least hubby & I shared dessert  ), drank more beer than I really needed, and tried to log my best guesses this morning. Ended Sunday by learning that our digital thermostat was not operating properly, and we had no AC in 80-degree temps & high humidity ~ horrible for sleeping, since our house does not cool down very fast. But repairman was at house this morning before I got home for lunch and all is well. As long as fix holds & nothing else goes wrong ~ we learned our high-tech thermostat is obsolete, and to replace it will cost $500 ~ we hope that is not necessary!

Weekly Weigh-In = When I'm active I eat back calories. My weaknesses: I love food... my sweet tooth, especially chocolate... portion control... FOMO (Fear of Missing Out). I weigh myself daily and log weekly / posting my Saturday a.m. weigh-in here. [My digital scale only shows half pound increments & I'm too cheap to buy a fancier scale.] No goal dates set ~ as long as my trend is downward, I get there when I get there!

    Age 60, 5'4.5"
    GW #1: 150 in a livable way = It's. Not. A. Diet.
    GW #2: 145 normal BMI
UG maintain: 140 - 145 [anything less will be unsustainable]

11/5/15 = 195.0 joined MFP with no real plan except It's. Not. A. Diet.
1/10/17 = 185.5 clearly not a regular on MFP / joined JFT, best group ever!
5/31/17 = 180.5 two end of month celebrations / committed to posting weekly weigh-in

09/02/17 = 170.0 Woohoo! Officially overweight, not obese

    04/28 = 152.0

Love this! I'm my best me when I am with my family of friends. I have a great support group, though not all nearby, who I can 100% be myself around and am loved and accepted as is. Eternally grateful for them all. <3

I know I've been away over the weekend, I think I just needed a few days with low commitments to recharge. I also unfortunately made some unhealthy choices over the weekend. I've noticed a pattern where, about once a month I tend to go off my meal plan for a few days and shift back into junky eating. I wonder if it's just something I need? To splurge for a few days to let loose and then kick my butt back into gear? Not sure, but I am happy that my new default is healthy eating and exercise. In the past that was the rarity. Not going to stress over it, just making an observation and I made sure to log all the same. Also, my sleep schedule is going really well! I have struggled with poor sleep habits since I was a CHILD, and somehow it's fitting into place. Somehow it's easier to add another healthy habit once you have a good foundation. Hoping this sticks-week two now!

    For today:
    30 minutes exercise ✅
    Track food and exercise ✅
5 good groups :( missed a few veggies...
    Water challenge ✅
Gratitude: today I am thankful for unexpected cancellations that allowed me to catch up on paperwork
Sleep log: bed at 9:45, up at 6
    Post here for accountability ✅

    For tomorrow:
    30 minutes exercise
    Track food and exercise
    5 good groups
    Water challenge-80 oz.
    Daily gratitude
    Sleep log
    Post here for accountability

Ha -- your some mean diet coach!!!! Yes, I have been naughty .... and sneaking off posting my goals. I know, I know, time to get back with it. But ... I do have some good excuses. Want to hear them??? Well, there really are NO good excuses, is there!! . SO I best get back on here with you guys posting I guess. (This is after I ate I think 2 chocolate hostess cup cakes tonite!) !

We are getting ready to leave friday for my hubbys 50th HS reunion. Then the next week I have a colonoscopy (Ya, you young ones that have probably never had one of these! I am the lucky one that gets to have one every 3 years!). So that day, I will record my weight LOL!!! Anyhow, after that, my 2 high school girlfriends are coming for a long weekend. So ... my excuses are .. that I've been working my butt off trying to clean and organize our house, working in the yard to try and make it look nicer, and just being, what, lazy with my weight loss and goals.

SO back to posting. ... at least until thursday when we leave. Then I will miss a few days ... but I promise ... I will be back posting!

But I do have to say, I get SO far behind on reading all the posts, and then I feel bad when I just don't have the time to respond to so many of you. I am so proud and happy that we have so many new posters, and such a active thread!

    SO my goals for tomorrow
    1. log my food -- I have not done this in like 2 weeks
    2. get back on track!!!! (THanks Diet Coach @Bex!)!!!
    3. concentrate on water ---
    4. do all the challenges: Water, walking, mindful eating, nite time snacking, 5 veggies a day
    5. read back at all the posts I have been missing out on by not getting on here!

I am SO far behind with all the posts! I find that if I don't post in the evenings, I just don't get on here during the day. Evenings are better for me, so I am going to try and make a better effort at getting on here. Thanks Bex for missing me <3

@bcTRAI -- I am also struggling with getting on here and posting any goals. Sometimes life gets so exhausting, and so many things to do, and if I don't post in the evening, it just does not happen. But that is the reason for this thread --- it is to help us all to keep on track, and keep on trying. If it was easy, if we all had great days all the time, there would be no need for a thread like this. this is why I love it so much . I do find myself overwhelmed at times because it is such a active thread, and I feel bad that I can't read all the posts and respond to so many, but I think each of us can contribute in any way we can ... even just coming and posting our goals. So happy to see you back, and I hope tomorrow is a great day for you!.

I'm my best me when I am able to get a good nites sleep!! I have a lot of trouble sleeping ... many nites I am still awake at 3 or 4 am. I think this is normal as we get older (at least this is what my doctor tells us!), but I refuse to start sleeping pills. When I am tired, I tend to want to overeat, I don't accomplish nearly as much in the day, and this always frustrates me. But this is a great question... and something to really think about! .

@Snowflake1968 --- You are doing great on the sept challenge -- the 5+ veggies. I need to start doing that better. I know my numbers would be the same.... makes me realize just looking at yours that somedays it is hard to get in the servings of veggies. Well, we have half the month left, so I best start doing this challenge!

@maryrobinson40 -- I hope your daughter is doing OK? I think about all you have been through, and hope you are doing OK, and the storm did not cause too much damage.

@PackerFanInGB - hope you are feeling better after your surgery?

@Bex953172 -- whats this ... you've been ill? I hope you are feeling much better!

I know I can't possibly read and catch up with all thats happening ... I think I am like 12 pages back! But I am going to try and get on here more often ..... make that one of my goals!

@mytime6630 don't think I didn't notice you sneaking off! Where you at? Get your butt back on here and start doing some goals!

Haha I was only joking with you, just wanted to make sure you were okay!

Unfortunately I DO know what a colonoscopy is but have never needed one. But errr... Good luck with that one? LOL
I'm sure my time will come one day LOL

Sounds like you've been super busy!
