1. Stick to calorie goal
I knew I wasn’t going to do it today. I completely set myself up to fail there. Next time I know I’m going to have a big social night I’m going to make me goal to meet my calorie goal for the week not that day, so i can do more exercise over the week and eat a little less on other days to stay on track overall. I can achieve that I think but I need to face up to the fact that some days (usually at the weekend) I’m just not going to stick to my daily calorie goal. Appreciate this means it will sometimes be just for this week rather than just for today but hope you won’t throw me off the group! I’ll be back on track tomorrow though.
JFT SATURDAY GOALS
1. stick to calorie goal
2. Go to yoga class
3. Go for swim and sauna
I’ve spent the last 9 months setting zero goals and moaning every day
No ones going to throw you off the group!5 -
JFT 02-15
P Stay under calorie goal
P Drink 64+ oz
P 8K steps actually did 10K
W Address W2c requests got some work done but they are not closed tickets.
H Schedule weekend (It's going to be busy)
The DH is away so I get to play for the weekend, BUT I have the cats and dog so I can only play away from the house for so long. Dog has her schedules that must be met.
I am going to drive to see my Mom and sister on Saturday. We are going to see the Hugh Jackman movie - The Greatest Showman - about PT Barnum. I did not know that HJ was a song & dance man. I only know him as Wolverine and Van Helsing. No idea he had won a Tony. I am looking forward to this.
HJ2 -
Came down sick between Wednesday and Thursday. Nausea and headache. Not sure if I'm dying yet.4

@missheidi I hope you dont die! Hopefully, you'll feel better after this weekend!0

1. Up by 7 7:20. The DH demanded cuddles. Lol. Ah the life of the newlywed
2. Clothes/Coffee/MFP Done fairly quickly
3. Take cash out It gave me it all in tens! I guess that's what I get for going to an ATM
4. Shopping Got it all done in 1.25hrs
5. CALL DOC AND FINANCE GUY As you can probably tell, I HATE making phone calls
6. Gym Did an easier workout today. Decided not to push it today because I haven't been feeling all that well
7. Library It was unbelievably hot though! It's like they had the heat blasting even though it was 60F out
8. Make egg salad/lunch Made chicken salad instead because it was faster.
9. Taxes @ 1 Done! And was pleasantly surprised!
10. Book time Decided to look up new recipes and organize my old ones
11. DH time Spent most of the afternoon on the couch with him. Lol
12. Dinner/Dishes(Turkey Sloppy Joes) Glad I looked it up early because I didn't realize it was crockpot meal but I had enough time to get it in and still eat on time...And Holy Crow was it good! We had it on whole grain buns topped with shredded cheddar cheese.
13. Hockey Matt watched the game and I spent the time cuddling and looking up recipes on my phone. Lol.
Can you say obsessive?
14. Bed by 11 Maybe but doubtful. 11 pm is in 10 minutes.
Had a good day even though the DH and I had a tiff or two. But all is forgiven. But when I say dinner was good, I mean it was fantastic! One of the best meals I've ever made. It was funny because something told me to double check the recipe at about 2:30. Turns out that it was a Crockpot meal. I had completely forgotten about that part! Lol. But it only needed 3 hours on high so I was able to prep it and get it in so that dinner could be at 6 as usual. Lol. The DH says it is definitely a make again meal! Lol. Not much to say tonight. Onto my list!

Just for today
Don't throw my phone because the My Fitness Pal app easily loses my posts to just for today when web doesn't have that problem
Exercise dog
Hit the road by 9 to drive to Mom's
Be home by 9 for the sake of the dog
10K steps
Not looking forward to my drive today. It's Daytona 500 weekend And Daytona is kind of between my two stops. I go from around the Orlando area to Jacksonville Florida the beaches and there's no good route that won't be affected by traffic. I've got the 500 weekend traffic, I've got racing at New Smyrna Speedway, and there's a big dressage and cross country event at an Equestrian Center I drive past. So not only will there be traffic but a lot of that traffic will be pulling horse trailers or car trailers on two-lane roads. And then when I get on the interstate it's going to be Daytona 500 crowded.
Must mentally prepare myself. (Where's that calm app? )

2/15/2018
1. Another day with long meetings - 8:30 - 3:00 to be exact. Plan food accordingly.
2. Get to the gym
3. Clean out the fridge (need to do the garbage night purge of ickiness)
Got my 2/16s done too but was super busy so never made it here to share.
2/17/2018
1. Hydrate!
2. Watch calories!
Headed to the auto show which actually makes both of my JTFs harder than usual.4 -
@junodog1 Sheesh! That's a lot of things going on on your route! Please stay safe and have an awesome time with your mom!
@cynhow Cleaning out my fridge is on my to-do list today. Mine isn't too bad because I take care of it fairly regularly but there are a few things that need to be taken care of. Lol
So I didn't set my alarm this morning, figuring I'd wake up way earlier than 9 am. Well, it turns out I ended up sleeping until past 9:30! Oh well, it hasn't ruined my day or anything. The DH is still asleep and I'm about to start breakfast to surprise him. It's not often that I make breakfast, or that he is home to eat it, so it'll be something nice that I do for him.
I hope you all are having a wonderful morning!4 -
JFT Sat
Eat meal plan
Walk on treadmill for 30 min
Drink more water
Cut down on cigarettes. (want to quit this weekend)
Grocery shop and package food into portions

Good to hear about the taxes! Hope it works out in your favor.
My heart goes out to you with regards to your DHs head trauma. I never would've realized how a brain injury can trigger responses that are beyond that person's control had I not witnessed it in a doctor's office. A man was verbally abusive towards his wife in the waiting room and I assumed he was just being rude. His wife & the doctor discussed his situation (practically beside me) and it turned out that his behavior was a result of having a large tumor in his brain that was getting worse. My first response was to look at him with dissaproval but I'm glad I didn't. His wife was so patient with him. You are an amazing lady3 -
Stayed up late last night so have to get back on track.
Gym before DD's swimming lesson.
Housework - set timer.
Lunch today with DD & a friend and her daughter. Be mindful when ordering.
Meditate 25 mins
Drink water-64oz min.
Track all my meals today-low carb/high protein.
Packed protein bar & Apple in car.
Walk with dog at nearby park with DD (who strolls)
Read this evening "New Book Of Lifting for Women".
Light supper tonight-may have leftovers from lunch.
Have supplies ready for Sunday school art class.
Reorganize/declutter desk-continue.
Possibly take DD to movie tonight.
Plan some day trips next week as the kids are out on school vacation.
Try to limit exposure to FB today. I'm getting sucked into all the discussions about the FL shooting. So heartbreaking.
Have a wonderful Saturday everyone.

Todays goals were:
stay within KJ limit - gotten better at finding healthy snacks but still need improvement
watch out for sugar and sodium limits
avoid dairy and gluten
1hr on the exercise bike. Enjoyed this so much I'm planning to add another workout session in the other end of the day - 30mins additional on the bike
I've been watching weight loss programs while I work out, the type where they follow a person's transformation for a year, any of y'all do that? I'm finding it really motivating
Tomorrow:
stay within kj limit but eat to the kj limit today
have protein and carbs at breakfast - you'll need it to kick in early today
watch out for sugar limit
avoid dairy, gluten and coffee
1hr on the exercise bike4 -

Thank you! It can be rough sometimes. A lot of the time he gets more angry at himself than at me because he cant think of a word or something isn't coming to him that should. He has been in 2(possibly 3) comas and 2 brain surgeries as well as upwards of 25-30 concussions. A lot of how he acts is not how he truly is. It's only really me and his friends that see the true him. Thank goodness his friends have learned how to deal with him as well. They dont take his outburst or anger at face value either. Usually, he's a really loving spouse and my best friend. So that times that he gets irrationally angry I remember those times and the person he truly is.5 -
It's kind of quiet here today. I hope everyone is out having fun and enjoying their weekend.
My Dad has a friend that runs our county's Weights and Measures Department. Daddy said that he might have a job opening so he is going to talk to him for me and see if it's true. This man has known me for about half of my life and knows that I am a hard worker and a true daughter of my Father. Lol. I would love to work for local government, at least in this kind of role. He is also on the board of the town that he lives in. So keep your fingers crossed for me. I'm gonna talk to Daddy in a little while!5 -

Going to Disneyworld tomorrow. I'll get a good walk in4

I was starting to wonder2 -
Our fridge gets wiped down weekly. It’s practically empty every week on shopping day so a quick wipe is easy before we fill it all up again
I try to clear mine out every Saturday. Saturday or Sunday I usually use most of our leftovers to make my DH wraps for his lunches for the upcoming week. That helps to clear out a lot of the fridge. I also make Tuna/Chicken/Eggs salad in advance for me for the next week's lunch. I think it's the beer and the chicken I haven't yet frozen that takes up the most space. Lol2 -

Dad's friend said that the job he has available is for a part-time laborer which is not something I can do but that there are three open clerk positions in the county so he said the try that. So we'll see!5 -

1) Walked 2 miles on treadmill before work / 33:52 / remembered to stretch after
2) Move hourly / stairs breaks at work = Fitbit 10,941 steps, 250+steps 14/14 (boom!) hours & 32 floors

2) Usual breakfast / leftovers for lunch / not sure about supper / net calories green
3) Wash sheets
4) Floss & retainers4 -

I do this, too. Have my DVR set to record Extreme Weight Loss and watch it while I am walking on the treadmill. Learning from their mistakes and successes....

I actually really like this quote!
It reminded me of a book I read called the slight edge.
Which was more based around financial stuff (think my dad wanted me to read it so I could learn something useful haha) but the basic principle has many uses! Especially in all our cases.
I think the basic thing was a few analogies? Like would you rather have 1 million pound straight up, or 1 penny that doubles every day for 30 days?
So Day 1 will be 1p, Day 2 will be 2p, Day 3 will be 4p Day 4 will be 8p and so on and so on...
Except by the end of 30 days, you actually get £5,368,709.12!!!!
So yes the second option of a penny a day makes the progress seem much slower and even disappointing but if you stick it out long enough for the 30 days you achieve 5 times as much!
And then there’s the simpler analogies of 2 frogs in a bucket of milk? Can’t jump out, so they paddle and paddle and one gives up because he doesn’t think he will make it so he stops paddling and sinks to the bottom and the other keeps going and going and then he’s paddled for that long that he’s turned the milk into butter or something and can jump out!
Long story short,
It applies to us as we don’t need one big day and one massive achievement and we will have our goals (as if we could lose 30lb in a day anyway!)
But goes to show, that if you’re going across a steady flat line, and you incorporate a HEALTHY habit (and it doesn’t have to be big it can be the slightest change) and you do that every day, over time you will be a lot more healthy than if you didn’t do anything.
But also the same the other way, if you have a bad habit that you don’t change and you’re still doing that bad thing a year down the line.(and it could be the slightest thing) Think how much unhealthier you will be than if you stopped it and remained on the constant steady line.
A slight change, the slight edge, that will see you either curve up to a healthier life or curve down to a unhealthier one.
So like your quote, one McDonalds won’t put on 20 lbs, neither will two or 3 or 4, but over time if you keep having them (a bad (yet slight) habit) you’ll be a big fatso before you know it5 -
Lots to catch up on here! Awesome job on the weigh in and physical @cschmitz110515 and like the wisdom ^ @Bex953172! Good luck with the job hunt @HGSmith0920 - you seem so positive I’m sure it will come through in an interview and get you the role you want.
I have had a rubbish day today. Achieved all my goals really except the one that probably mattered the most - I haven’t enjoyed today as had some disappointment on the personal life front. Feeling sad but for accountability and consistency I’m here tonight anyway soooo:
Recap 17/2:
- early exercise? May take a rest morning as I have.. ✅
- Hot yoga class ✅

A good day I think. Only two things didn't get done. I didn't even look at my schedule much today either. I've had an idea to turn a short story I wrote about 4 years ago into a novel or novella. I think I am going to reread the story and look at what I have for notes and things and see if it's possible. I also have an idea for a story about something that happened in my past kind of rolling around in the back of my head. We are currently in the middle of a rain/sleet/snow storm. I dont know what it's supposed to look like in the morning. I'm a little concerned but we'll see. So onto my list!

Borrowed from several another MFP posters:
If I don't do what I can today, I won't be able to do what I want tomorrow.
Think of what I want to look like in 3 months
I realized how badly I am doing this year --- especially when I had to go all the way back to Jan 31 to find my weigh ins!!!!
And I know at the rate I am going, I am not going to reach any of my Feb goals. So time to get with it!!!!!!
Weigh myself EVERY SATURDAY and record on here ---- no matter what5
