Day 19
All Cleared
Except I was too low in kj, I'm struggling with this, I'm just not used to eating so much bulk and find myself seriously hesitant to eat higher calorie foods, food like the kind that I feel "got me fat" - I know it's not a healthy way to think about food, I'm working on it.
Goals for Day 20:
The Usual.
stick the kj limit
slay the sugar
avoid dairy and gluten and coffee
over 1 hour on exercise bike
Addiction is the only prison where the locks are on the inside.5 -

Well yesterday just didn't work out. My hubby is going through a business expansion and he is utilizing my skills to help. The problem is, it is consuming my time and I'm not getting my list of things done. I did take a nap after lunch yesterday, but all these changes etc are mentally exhausting me, Lol!!
Wonderful news.....last night at the baseball meeting; my hubby chatted with his other coach buddy and they are rearranging everything so we do not have to manage the team, I'm so relieved
Well, I have to go into the lab today and face the "music" of not completing my file so I'm not looking forward to the day. However, I'm just gonna "pick myself up by my boot straps" and get in there. I'm hoping the day goes well and doesn't overwhelm me.
2/20 Tuesday JFT:
▪Up early ~ 5:45 am
▪Revised business plan w/ hubby
▪Regular morning routine for kids
▪Breakfast w/ hubby
▪JFT
▪At university lab for 3.5 hrs
▪Lunch
▪Rest ~ 1 hr
▪Pick up kiddos from school
▪Academy - pick up a few baseball items
▪Prep taxes
▪Rebox textbooks
▪Elliptical - Walking Only ~ 20 min.
▪Dinner by 7 pm
▪Bedtime by 10 pm
It is an ambious list and I'm probably going to move some stuff to tomorrow. However if I can get most of it done, the rest of my week will go better.5 -
@acrylicfox Your quote is so true. Before I quit smoking I felt like I was in a prison because of my addiction. It took a lot of perseverance, dedication, and accountability to finally come off them. I have been cigarette free for almost 2 years!5

Whew! I gotta sit and rest a moment---your JFT has left me wiped out!! We were/are a baseball family. My husband coached one of our son's til he graduated high school and went to play in college. He even coached in Belgium and the team won the national championship---of course you have to remember that Belgium is the size of Maryland, lol!!! When we lived in Austin, TX, the hubs would be up at 2am watering the field. When he first got there, it was a mess and he slowly got it back in shape by reseeding, fertilizing and watering. Our son was probably 9 or 10 at the time. As usual I was the trusty sidekick. If I wasn't helping him, I'd be selling snacks at the concession stand. I recall the league hosting a tournament and I was up early making egg and meat burritos to sell . We had four kids by then. And even though only one kid played, the other three were usually there rooting him on. Later, I would take photos and put together albums for the families. When we lived in Belgium, our son, who was in high school (homeschooled) would fly to the States and play ball from January to the end of May and then return to Belgium to play the season there. I think back now and marvel at how I let our 15-17 year old go off like that! Of course he had ten moms to pounce on him if he ever got out of line, lol. And I remember the days sitting on the cold metal bleachers, wrapped in a blanket, holding an umbrella cheering on the team. At the time, it's just what we did! Now, I'm not sure I could do that several days a week! So, I truly feel for you---and wow! I was not expecting when all this was going on in my life! So you get multiple kudos. But remember, there will be a last time. And then all you will have will be the lovely, crazy, sometimes upside down, memories to hold on to. Here is an appropriate JFT quote by a man who pitched for the Cleveland Indians for 18 seasons:
"Every day is a new opportunity. You can build on yesterday's success or put its failures behind and start over again. That's the way life is, with a new game every day, and that's the way baseball is." Bob Feller
(Apologies for the OT rambling...)
Thank you for sharing your story!! You have an incredible story and there is no way I could let my teenager do that, Lol!! I'm much to paranoid!! Your husband did a great thing by taking over and making everything work for the baseball team. It is not easy, Lol!! I'm sure by the time my kids are all grown up, I'll miss the caious as well. Sometimes I look back and laugh about what we've already been through!! But the is the joy in life, the journey not the destination
I truly appreciate you ladies all being there for me and everyone else on JFT. Life can kick your butt sometimes and having a support system IS very helpful.4 -
@MLHC1 Good luck today! You should give yourself a little slack about the research. You're 7 months pregnant! They need to take that into account. Lol. If you need to rest, then rest. I'm so glad that you dont have to manage the team! That's awesome! What kind of business does your husband own?1
-
@acrylicfox Thank you! It took a lot of work, but it was so worth it. If only to be able to say that I am an ex-smoker. Lol. The health benefits have been amazing. Part of the reason I know that I will be able to get to my goal weight is because I was able to quit smoking. I mean if I can quit that then there's nothing that can stand in my way!7

Thank you My research team does understand, the problem is me! I have high standards and hold my self more accountable than others do. (It can be a flaw sometimes bc it causes stress.)
My hubby owns an industrial business that specializes in multiple trades of building, construction (commercial and residential) and some other building related entities. It can be complicated to explain bc his company incorporates a lot of businesses. He is excellent at what he does, he just knows I'm better at the "office-work." So when he sees an opportunity to snag my help, he does, Lol!! It is endearing that he appreciates my input. But our marriage is strong bc he and I have different career interests. We work well together but we are also too much a like and but-head's sometimes.5 -

I am so very thrilled for you. That was not an easy feat. If my mom were alive she would be doing a happy dance for you. Although after smoking for over 60 years, she did quit. Unfortunately she still died of lung cancer...she had just smoked for too many years. A very harsh way to die. You quit while you are still young! You are reaping so many rewards and blessings for your determination.5 -
I am loving this feed. You guys are awesome. Please add me to this group and as a friend. Thank you.6

UPDATE: (no she’s not here yet)
Got my induction brought forward! So instead of Next Thursday on the 1st March I’m actually having her this Sunday!
Or hopefully as long as there isn’t too many other women giving birth that day!
However I’m also having a sweep (I hope you know what this is because I do NOT want to explain ) but anyway that can help start things off naturally as it stimulates hormone production. And that’s on Thursday this week!
So if I go naturally after this sweep then I’ll go in, if not it will be Sunday/Monday!
Finally at the end
And thank god because my pelvic pain is so bad now. I keep getting stuck in the bath and if I get on the floor I can’t get up again8 -

- Stay in calorie goal ✅
- Interventions update work couldn’t get any time with the lead person to discuss
- Sort class folder half done. Will finish tomorrow hopefully
- Progress on display board materials ✅
- hot yoga? Really want to try and make this class tomorrow ✅
- Online grocery shop ✅
JFT 21/2:
- exercise early
- Water!
- Stay within calorie goal
- Finish class folder
- Get quotes and last pics for display/website

So far in bth labours I’ve had a panic attack when it’s time to push!
So my JFT for Sunday will be “don’t have a panic attack in labour”5 -

I had to look up what a sweep is. Interesting. I never heard of that. Of course I stopped making babies about 22 years ago.
Why panic? You know what's going to happen and look at the good results you have gotten to date. Two little darlings. You don't need to be fearful, you have a great track record!3 -

Haha I don’t know, I think I fear the pain over everything. I just get a feeling that I suddenly can’t do it haha
I’ve been watching some hypnobirthing though so might even play it whilst in labour to keep me concentrating on being calm!
I think this is the most nervous I’ve been! After one bad labour and one good I’m dreading if this will be good or bad, but statistics seem to say that because I’ve birthed before it should be easier but there’s just no knowing!
Last baby so gotta give it my best go!

Oh my goodness, @Bex953172 I know it didn't go fast for you, but I can't believe it's here already! I'm so excited for you! @junodog1 I had to look up what a sweep was too! But my baby is 35, so....they didn't do ultrasounds or anything back then.
I will be thinking about you over here! Let us know when she's here (when you have time, of course!) sending you big hugs! (((BEX)))2 -

I looked through 4 pages of posts, and I guess I never even set any goals for today. But .... I had a great day. I guess after having a couple of totally out of control eating, at least I am back on track again, well, at least for today I was.
1. Drank 8 glasses of water (I know, because I counted 2 at each meal, and drank 2 tonite)
2. Got the towels appliqued and ready for grandsons birthday
3. Did 30 minutes on the treadmill, and also to the spinning class!!! OMG -- My legs still hurt! I loved the class, but I tend to get nauseaus when I overdo it. Not sure if its because I have low blood pressure or what. But I went and sat for awhile, and came back in and finished the class. A great workout! And I was proud of myself, because this morning I hit the snooze 3 times before going. But I always set it ahead of time --- I just had to rush out the door faster!
4. and logged all food
I guess @Bex is going to be pretty busy this week , so I best behave myself!!! I told myself last year I would be at goal weight when @Bex has her baby girl. Well, I guess thats not going to happen. But I can't wait to hear from you after you have that sweet little baby girl!! You are going to do great!
My goals for tomorrow, try and have a repeat of today.
1. Remember how awful I feel when I eat crap!
2. Make a list of what I want to accomplish - this always helps me get more done
3. finish pinning the king size quilt
4. concentrate on 8 glasses of water
5. log all food - stay under 1400 cal. But better yet, make my choices healthy
6. get back on here... be accountable.4 -

So it was a strange night for me last night. I am still trying to process the info I found out. Turns out that MIL has had cancer for a while. We have no idea what kind. No one told us. But it has spread and she does not have long left. My DH has a kind of love/hate relationship with her, but anyone losing there Mommy is rough. My DH likes to run away from feelings, especially concerning his family. It's going to take him a long time after she is ultimately gone, for him to come to terms with it. My issue is that I haven't lost a family member or even someone relatively close to me in about 20 years, definitely not as an adult. So I have no idea how to feel or what to feel right now. I have an awesome relationship with my Mom(It took a lot of work and a lot of forgiveness on both our parts, though.) and I can't imagine what it would be like to lose her. So I have all of these really odd feelings inside of me that I dont know what to do with. I think I might schedule an appointment with my old therapist and talk to her about it. It was just a kind of surreal night last night. The news still affected me this morning, hence why I didn't go to the gym or make the phone calls. While I was waiting for the time that I could leave for M's house, I just kind of sat there listlessly, definitely not in a good frame of mind. M made me see some things from a slightly different perspective and that helped a little but I am still kind of at a loss. Anyway, sorry for the rambling. I just wanted to let you know what's going on in case I am not my usually upbeat self.
Tomorrows list is going to be relatively short and easy. The DH has the day off and it's supposed to be beautiful out so we are going to use it as a rest day. Hang out in bed, maybe play some catch in the yard, maybe a bike ride. Things like that. Oh! Since I've started cooking and making him lunches again, the DH has lost 10 lbs! That's only in 30 days! It is amazing! Lol. So maybe he won't have as terrible time losing his weight as I thought!
Anyway!
JFT, 2/21/18

2. Up whenever
3. Laundry(if up early and before DH)
4. Breakfast

7. Lunch
8. Something else active outside
9. Rest
10. Dinner(maybe on the back deck??)/Dishes
11. Rest/Hockey/Sew
