Marcelyn, the photos of the grands are just lovely! The last one with the unhappy baby is adorable, I just wanted to reach in and give him a cuddle!
Kelly, so glad Joaquin is feeling better! Nice that your charges all had different favorite toy bins!
Wendy, it's too bad that your hubby's work mates don't have enough respect to close gates etc behind them. Maybe you need to threaten them with fire too..... (loved that, btw!)
Katla, sorry that your dd is having issues, it's always hard being the parent! Doesn't matter how old our babies get, they are still our babies!
Heather, so nice that your ds called without having seen your note asking him to contact you. Congrats to him for getting his "stuff" together.
Lisa, glad your ds is getting his "stuff" together also, certainly sounds like he has a plan.
Too many people to respond too! I started on page 63 and there were 67 pages! lol Such a chatty bunch, love it! I am in the same boat as a few people here, I have had a tough time staying on track, especially the last few weeks with my back being a pain (literally!). First day back at the gym, did my TRX class, there were a few things that I tried where my body indicated it wouldn't tolerate that, so I had to modify a few things and just plain didn't do a few others. Fortunately, the trainer is an older woman (she's 73 and in terrific shape), so she tells us to listen to what our bodies are saying and don't do it if it hurts. I listened! Felt really great to be active again, tho, didn't go crazy with the cardio either, so pretty sure I will be okay as long as I keep listening. Seeing the chiro again on Thursday, going to ask for some specific exercises so that I don't find myself in the same situation again.
Today has been a good day, food wise. I just need to make sure that I brush my teeth right after dinner so that I avoid that late day "graze". I'm not hungry at that time, just looking for sugar, which I really don't need! Really don't need the extra calories either, really need to look good in the dress! (for ds's wedding in May)
Welcome to the newbies!
Evelyn, Vancouver Island where the wind has finally abated, but it is still too cold for my liking!5 -
Evelyn - agreed - it's the late night sugar cravings that are the hardest to resist... Teeth brushing helps. Sugar free Jell-O helps. Going to bed early. There are always ways... and by the next morning, the urge is gone.

... the photos are great of all the kids... but you know the photo I was drawn to the most? The last one ... with the crying baby, and his very solemn siblings ... precious memories!
Everyone likes the last one with the teary baby but oddly enough the other baby is the one that actually screamed through the entire event. We did the group photo first to catch everyone "fresh" and then moved on to the family groups. The photographer was good, just a "cheap" walk in place in Sears (cheap is relative but when you call a photographer they tell you $600 for a sitting fee for that many people. I got every photo taken and printing rights for all of them for $99 at this place)
And I have that running shirt. I often quote that verse when my son says, "hey mom, want to go do 20 miles with me today?" lol5 -
KetoneKaren wrote: »Marcelyn That last photo is a keeper. Such a cute bunch of grandkids. We have 3 so far, one more due in April, and hoping for 2 more! Six would be plenty for me, I already feel totally grammified.

My 13th grandchild was my step-mother's 113th Grandchild. No kidding. She is 85 yrs old and when my youngest grandchild was born it made 42 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great grandchildren for her. A couple more have been born since then but I'm not sure how many. !!! The amazing thing is that in those 113 kids there are no name duplications! And we live all over the world and nobody at that level really keeps in touch so that's a bit unbelievable to me.

Evening ladies, sweet sisters. I am sitting here enjoying the ice dance at the Olympics. It is such a beautiful art form. So graceful. I have roller skates do but only in straight lines so I think I will stay off the ice. We do have an ice rink here in town Nd have our hockey team and different skating teams. They do put on an exhibition yearly. I went when my niece was taking skating lessons but haven't since. From the level I saw with my niece, I don't think they are much better. And I don't care for hockey at all. The rink serves as practice and games for several of our high schools that have teams and one of our universities. So they have got their money's worth out of it.
Jauquim is just as cute as he always has been. I still think him and Olivia should hook up when they are of age.
Marcylynns, how many grand kids do you have???????? I think I counted 13. The young lady in the first picture with the white blouse is a stunner!
Laura, when my husband first retired we were so excited to have our two grid daughters over this spring break. I think they were 4 and 7, could hav been 3 and 6 but I'm not sure a 6 yea old is in school. That spring break taught us one thing. NEVER DO THIS AGAIN! They weren't to bad but I think we forgot our age and stamina. But our youngest is just so full of energy. When she was a baby, I sometimes would take care of them for a weekend if my daughter and SIL were going to a retreat, etc. but a weekend is different than 5 days in which we are driving to pick them up and then take them back home. They live jaunt 3 hours away but sometimes it feels longer than that.
I don't know if the ones here in the states have heard of The Ark Experience, but it is an actual ark made the size the Bible says it is and there are exhibits inside. My brother works there and our tickets are half price. We hope to go during their spring break this year. My bother has yet to get back with me as to what days are projected to be high volume days. Their spring break is the week before Easter and I'm sure that may influence some people going. The office has records of when there are large bus tours coming and Paul just has to get that info to me so we can plan when to go. It takes long enough to go through this two story Ark that I will have to rent a scooter that they have. I hope we can get to spend some time with my brother and his family while we are there. They have the son who was a heroin addict and he and his fiancé have a beautiful little baby girl. Wish they had got married first but he already has one boy with another girl and three children with another girl. So I don't think it makes any difference to him. Sex is sex. You might fall in love later or you may not. I'm the meantime, the girl makes nice company in bed. I have amother nephew that has 4 children but at least they are with the same woman. His younger brother is just now the age to start this.
It got up to 74 degrees and my cats sure have enjoyed they opened patio door. Charlie took about a 2 mile walk along our river. It is quite a scenic river it for me it is to much of an incline and I just can't tolerate it. And he likes to walk it faster than I do. I know that there is no rule that we must walk together but it is nice when you go out on a nice walk with your husband that you walk together. He knows when we go to the mall that I will not walk with him. He has so many 'rules' that must be met when he walks and he thinks everyone else must adhere even thought they have no idea that there are rules in his head. And he jaunt talks and talks about some one who is not following his rules. And my man is quite the cusser. And it's not just mild curse words either. And I just can't walk with him if he is doing that. I love him and I married him knowing how he cussed. But that doesn't mean I have to love his cussing. I was raised in a. Onservative Southern Baptist preachers home and we were not raised to do that. Now I wouldn't mind sitting down with Becca and having lunch knowing she can cuss like a sailer, the sMe with Pip. I would love to meet with them. And I know that there may be so,e colorful adjectives coming out of their mouths. And that is OK. But when it is every other word with my husband who I am supposed to have a nice relaxing walk, I just don't like it. OK! That is out.
Mozart had enjoyed his perch on top of his cat condo today. He just can't seem to get that window out of the way. He scratches and scratches and it's still there.mi am so glad he is declawed. OOPS! I brought up that word. Sorry. Them Melody just looks at her brother wondering how in he world he go up there. It's simple, get on the arm of the couch and you are on the third step, one more and you are on top! But there is no room for the both of them. Charlie was threatening to move the condo since no one had tried to get on it at all. So I am glad Mozart is enjoying it.
Kelly, I lov your bins. One of them reminds me so much of my girls when they were little. We would be in the check out lane and they had to organize any of the products that are there to tempt my stomach into eating.
Well I a, having times that I can use my left hand to type or lay my game on my phone and it doesn't hurt. And then there are times that I would just love to cut them off since they hurt so bad. So it looks like I am seeing some response to the Lyrica. Yeah!!!!!!!!! I go into my doctors office on March 13th to have something removed from my back that he says looks suspicious. This will be a first for me.
Love you all, hugs Joyce, Indiana5 -

Hello ladies! I don't have the energy to read the posts right now, although I couldn't help but see the pic of the barn owl. It is so beautiful. Glad everything worked out well for it. Also loved the boot pic. When I feel like it, I hope to go through backstories and get to know everyone better. I have been fighting a sore throat, cough and stuffy sinuses since Friday. After cancelling my PT appt. for today, I finally broke down and called the Drs. office. I have an appt. tomorrow. Anyone have a home remedy to soothe a sore throat? I haven't had my throat hurt this bad in years. I've tried gargling with warm salt water, sipping herbal tea with honey and eating ice chips, but nothing really helps. Ok...enough of being a "Moaning Mona"...on the upside, I have lost 7 lbs so far this month! I'm just trying to journal and be more aware of my calorie intake and I am also drinking more water. My motivating thought for this month is something our son said to me 20 years ago...Serious thoughts out of the mouth of babes: "Mom, if you put everything off til tomorrow mornin' you won't get ice-cream for being good today."7

Hi Gals,
Welcome Andrea, jean,
Oh Michele - you had me smiling and shaking my head, I love food from Central and south America, and fix something from south of the border 2-3 times a week. There are some similarities in much of the cuisine, but there are major differences! I make Mexican and Costa Rican most at home but a good San Salvadorian restaurant, oh be still my heart!!! Most all of it is full of spices, but not all hot spice… but there is very little that is bland.
Heather your veggie curry sounds like this great soup I make, super cheap in calorie and filling! I made it tonight and had 2 big bowls full
We are having a cold snap here in N. California, nothing for some of you, but it has been 45 F (7c) ish as our cold temp for many a week, and tonight it is to get to 20F (-6c) so it is a big change.
Last night and tonight I have a fire in the wood stove going, - for a whole list of stupid reasons I did not get wood this year so have not been using my stove as much; I do love it.
I sat in front of the fire last night and darned my socks – I had 3 pairs that needed it. I’m a bit of an oddity I still repair things and darn socks…
Tonight I think I’ll turn on the Olympics, I am not seeing as much as I usually do, but loving what I do see. I am always impressed by the commitment and skill of all the participants.
Smiles
Kim from N. California

Michele, I will start with something that is "good" for me, but that just starts the spiral and the next thing I know I'm reaching into the cookie jar or the chocolate chip bag or just anything that I see in front of me! I had some frozen raspberries and graham wafers after dinner and then brushed my teeth. I am not hungry, so no need for me to eat something. Feeling good about that!

Hi all,
I stayed within my calorie goals today, but the food choices weren’t so good. McDonalds breakfast to start off the day.
I loved all the pictures of kids and grandkids! They are all beautiful!
I have 10 grands myself spread all over the country!
I decided to go see my DD#3 so I bought tickets to go to Florida (the yoga girl’s) in March during spring break. I didn’t think I could get tickets so close. I used my remaining points so it cost $42 from Little Rock to Panama City Beach. I’ll have to pay for luggage too. Pretty good price!
I guess her soon-to-be ex is settling down. He’s wanting to work out custody sharing. He makes a lot of money but he’s telling her no alimony. Right! 15 years of marriage and she worked while he went to college? That’s not fair in my book. He didn’t want her to go back to school.
Sorry the video didn’t work. I watch Dutchsinse on YouTube and follow his earthquake forecasts. He’s right on 80% of the time. I have family in California so I’m very interested in that area.
Speaking of the weather, it’s 71* right now at 11:50 pm! Crazy.
I wish all of you well and stay on track for the remaining of the week. Stay focused on your goals and you can see major results!!
Love,
Dana in Arkansas

Barbie Just swallowed Dan Harris' 10% Happier whole. What a great story, so honest and down to earth.
Wendy Brava! Love the suited up pic of you and your mum. Love the Dreams Come True club. Why did he kill it? Would he ever make amends by helping to resurrect it? What a beautiful thing you did. Wish I were one of your neighbor kids, was always a city girl who wished she could ride, but such a klutz that when I tried, catastrophe! War averted, whew!
pip that Bullwinkle is an old sweetie. Floyd looks like a kissy baby. OMG the FOOT!!!
Marcelyn 13 grandkids? Bet that photographer DID sweat Love the "boo-boo" faced boy in lap of checkered shirt. Do he and his sibs always look so serious?

Hello ladies:-
I'm sorry I'm not good at posting about everyone individually. Just wanted to say that I love all the photo's and facts and humour! First thing to do every morning for me is to catch up on all the posts and I also check in a few times a day too!
I have a week off from my new little job, it's half term holiday here in Wales. I'm also off next week too because I'm going on holiday to Cornwall,(for the US folk who like UK t.v., that is Doc Martin land!).
I have booked a little cottage overlooking the sea in a small fishing port called Porthleven, it's my favourite place in the world and I've been going there for many years. Only another 6 days to wait!
All the best
Karen UK x7 -
Awakened in the middle of the night not by a hot flash, but by the thunderstorm rolling through. Lots of lightening. We routinely lose power in this type of weather, probably 3 times a year or so, so crossing my fingers we avoid that bother this time. Having trouble falling back asleep, even tho kitty curled up on my chest, because of the flash- boom combinations.

Morning, afternoon, and evening all...
Nothing better than grandbabies of every age - love seeing them all.
Heather, so glad things are going well with son and DDIL. She's a keeper, for sure. Hope your other son's relationship continues well, also.
Joyce, hope the growth on your back is nothing serious, but glad they're treating it seriously. Glad the Lyrica's working, as well!
Hard to believe there's only a week left of February. Lost almost all of the water weight I put on over the weekend. Hopefully back on track by tomorrow. Took a quick measurement of my waist, and have lost two inches since 2/1, which made me quite happy. Take measurements if you haven't! They'll show the results of your hard work before the scale does, often enough.
Corey and our daughter had time to talk alone yesterday while she was picking him up from the brake shop where our car's in for service. She's settled down, and is starting to think of alternatives, and taking advantage of our time left here to get the little one into daycares and try them out. Then, if they're not working out well, we can try another. Pleased with that, it's where we were trying to get her to. So good signs from both kids of thinking about the future. That's pleasing. The son has two interviews set up in Arkansas already, and a place to stay with a guy who's already said he'll pick him up at the bus station. Now all I have to do is worry about him being on a bus! He's 6'3" tall, and while skinny, doesn't look like an easy mark. At all. Kind of satanic, in fact, black hair, goatee and all. Love that boy.
Have finished five of the ten biographies I have to get written - they're 3/4 to a full page, single-spaced, so it's not a ton of writing, but it's pretty intense. These are for the "women of distinction" that we're going to give awards to on March 28, so it's important - this quick story of their lives is going to be read out loud to 300-500 of their community, family and friends, so it matters. No pressure!
Better get to it and get those finished, soonest done, soonest off my mind.
Love y'all,
Lisa in NC6 -
Happy Tuesday! The week rolls on. It rained all day yesterday. Just a light soft steady sprinkle; all day. Last night was a downpour and by the time I got into bed the wind had picked up and the rain was beating against the house. I love those spring rains, but soon I will hear of the homes of friends dealing with flooding. It is that time of year. Luckily, we live on a dune area, so we are elevated a bit and don't get the flooding. According to the weather, we have a week of rain coming. That explains the extra ache I feel in my joints, I guess.
Marcelyn- Add me to your list of admiring grandmothers! 13! And your step mother has an impressive total of "grands"! Wow!
Karen UK- Your holiday sounds wonderful! A cottage by the sea, and best of all, in a familiar place (like home away from home). Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy!
WEndy- Yeah, I am thinking DH or DH and yourself, together, will have to have a talk with all of these business partners and friends and let them know what they need to be responsible for if they are going to be using or on your property. I am always stunned when adults behave this way; with little to no regard for other's possessions. For me, it is common sense and good manners to take care of others things (especially making sure the livestock are staying safe). Obviously, not common sense for all. I am glad DH seems to be aware of the problem (now that you have brought it to his attention) and willing to do something about it.
Janet- Yes, Joaquin's birthday is March 14. I remember last year when it seemed everyone was announcing births of grandbabies! Mary- had posted pictures of the twins, Karen, you, Marcelyn, and I, were all gifted with new grandbabies last year!
Not sure why, but Gloria (Glowormin) was on my mind last night. Miss her and thinking of her grandchildren. Is anyone still in touch with her daughter? How is everyone doing?
Well, getting ready for kiddos. ttfn xoxoxo KJ (Kelly)2 -

Kelly so glad Joaquin is on the mend, what a sweetie
Well today was 9 mile day. From riding the metro, Ancient Rome tours of Colosseo and the forum and palentine hills, to the termini station and the long walk back to Vatican City from the Tiber river because it was a beautiful almost warm day. DH and I are having a good time. I am not tracking but am confident that we are walking and climbing off the calories.
Will post more pics when the WiFi improves. and yes espresso for me at least 2xs per day !
