OK welcome new friends! Please every one sign your name at the end of your posts. Even if you are quoting and answering someone's question. For me its just easier to follow the flow of the conversations, and add.
Eldest son called us yesterday. I had been a "meddling mom", contacting his non-paying roommate last week to give him a heads ups on my sons arrival. I was so proud of myself, because when I texted him, I spun it as a, " hey we caught you unaware last time, so I wanted to give you advance notice when he's coning home". Hoping he would clean up, so son wouldn't be coming home to a mess. It worked! My son is a big gentle soul, and people take advantage of that! Not that I will be his protector when we live with him.... But when we have struggled he has sent us money. It's nice that we are given an opportunity to reciprocate. This might be the home we turn old at! So we are looking at the main level for us, and either a basement or a second floor as son's. He might be stationed his last two years in the Navy in San Diego. We would still get a house together, just store his stuff until he gets out. We would be starting vehicles periodically, as maintenance. Something that storage places don't do! He might get a squadron that is a San Diego squadron, but still in Whidbey island, go figure! Something about it being a support squadron with the Coast Guard. The great thing is he would be working on helicopters, which he's always loved better than jets and being on carriers. His next two years is shore duty, so no big cruises yeah!
We woke up to light snow, here on the coast. Its now coming up on 11am, and its all melted now. Summer can not get here any faster!!
Dear husband made red beans & rice last night. From a package, but its nice to have him help with meals. I get really tired of meal options. What do you want to eat? Oh I don't care, what do you want to fix? Oh what are our options? Oh for heaven's sake, get in here! My life pretty much! Haha!
Well everyone have a grand day!

Tuesday. Had an awesome weekend although totally bombed on the food because the only food offered was all deliciously deep fried (sausages, bacon, hashbrowns) and the eggs were laden in grease! The other meals were also tasty but fatty....so no amount of cross country skiing would burn off those delicious calories!!
Yes, I am an above the knee amputee and I can cross country STANDING!! Takes a whole lot of effort but I can do it!
JOYCE:; try not to stay on the Lyrica too long! It is bad for the liver, kidneys and brain cells. I use essential oils now for just about everything! If they don't work...then I use a bit of CBD oil.

Hi everyone! We are back from visiting my DH's daughter and soon to be son-in-law in Sacramento. We had a great time visiting with them. My DH forgot to pack my Kettlebell so now I will have to do start out at a lower weight and less reps so I do not strain any muscles. We are also going to tighten up our way of eating and eating stricter diet of Keto. The truth is I love eating a keto diet. Bacon, eggs and cheese omelette with peppers and onions for a meal is one of my favorite! You were talking about favorite cuisines and I would say mine is American? Meat and moderate vegetable is quick and easy to make. I love it when my husband makes a large batch of smoked ribs on the grill and I can eat them for days. I put them together with a half of sweet potato to stay within my carb limits or spaghetti squash with butter garlic asiago cheese and onion yummy!
Time to start swinging my kettle bell! I hope everyone has a fantastic day of eating healthy and exercising! Don't forget to love and hug someone today!
Margaret - I think of you quite often especially when I think of Minnesota. I hope you are doing fantastic! When I get home this summer I would like to make a special trip to see you and the other MN girls!

I hate to tell you but if you were to eat everything but the hashbrowns you would be eating a keto diet and you would lose an awful lot of fat especially belly fat. You just named one of my favorite meals! Most people are under the misconception that fat is not good for you. However it has been proven that it is essential for brain health and lubricates joints and blood vessels! And it tastes great specially butter! Another thing, excess fat does not turn into fat like excess carbs do.

I have been reading a book the past couple of weeks. It is called Lost Girls. I bought it because it is about three 28 year old women who decide to take a year long hiatus from their careers and travel to different places around the world. It is taking me a while to get through this as I get very frustrated with the predicaments that they get into (over and over). I love the chapters when something amazing and life changing is happening to them; but just want to shake the bejeezus out of them, when they do something totally juvenile (usually involving alcohol and/or men). Youth is wasted on the young. I would love to read a book about women in their 40's or older doing something like this. Heather- What books are you reading? I know you are reading running/marathon books. I need a inspirational/exercise motivational read. btw; now that you are a runner, I will put my favorite "race" book out there, again, in case you want to check it out (you should) Born to Run: A Hidden Tribe, Superathletes, and the Greatest Race the World Has Never Seen by Christopher McDougall xoxoxo KJ2

Sitting in the drs office waiting for my DD to see the dr. She has been dizzy and sick to her stomach for a few days and today it was so bad that she couldn’t drive so I left work to bring her in.
She gave blood about 4 days ago and has felt tired which isn’t unusual but the dizziness and stomach thing isn’t. She called the Red Cross and they told her to see a dr today.
We were 10min late so they said she missed her appt even though she called and let them know. But they squeezed her in. So I’m waiting for her to get out.
She is missing class tonight and upset about that but she had no choice.

I like Born to Run too.
Right now I am reading "Wild" by Jay Griffiths and I am listening to First Lady, about Winston Churchill's wife. Very interesting both of these books.

So talented Janetr!!!

MARY from ARIZONA - so true but if your diet is not containing this much fat to begin with....my stomach was COMPLAINING big time! I understand about the fat and that it is good to have in your diet but this was a bit of an overload on my gut.3
