Challenges : Was really close to maintenance (1.5 lbs. away) early in the week, at around 54.7 k; and then (maybe overconfident or self-sabotaging, I don't know) i totally stopped tracking and trying, so w is back up.
I haven't tracked for 2 weeks.
I'm lacking exercise.
I didn't bring enough for lunch.
For the most part, my work places don't have lunch options. I brought too light a lunch. (for example grabbed 200g of smoked tofu and a celery stalk for a no-prep lunch as I went out the door. Then I supplemented with vending machine options: potato chips, a candy bar, or coffee machine mocha or hot chocolate, to get me through the day - or take out asian food on the way home.
I had the same issue a few weeks ago. I really need to prepare copious volume healthy meal to get me through the day, especially since I'm allergic to gluten.
Successes: a couple of morning walks, and a some necessary work and city walking.
Hopefully next week will be better. Arggh11 -

@ryenday Ouch! Hope that ear infection goes away soon!
How do you feel about elliptical or stair climber time?1 -
@pkweier I hear that on the mini candies. For me it's my chocolate/ white chocolate/ pb chips. Funny how a few from the bag seem to miss the scale on the way to my mouth!2
-
@bananasandoranges I hear that! Good prep work makes a huge difference.1

Thanks, @fidangul! Here's hoping for a better April for us both!3

I had to choose between copying my previous thread update, and copying a comment I just made to an MFP friend (which pretty much sums up my current challenges) so, sorry thread update format, you lose!
Challenges/successes of the week: "I often experience prolonged periods where the scale says one thing, but something else is quietly going on behind the scenes... I got tricked by the scale and Trendweight earlier in my Maintenance phase when both assured me over a prolonged period that I was in balance...then suddenly both changed their tune and showed me some significant weight gains - true weight gains, as opposed to fluctuations! The weight gains weren't caused by massive overeating in the days just prior to the weight readings, they were caused by the gradual, cumulative effect of eating a few hundred calories too many, on a daily basis, for a prolonged period!
Same thing can happen to me in reverse when I'm cutting down... last week my average daily deficit was 300, the week before it was 240. On that basis, I "earned" a weight loss of just over a pound. Yet according to the scale, I have instead gained a pound; and according to Trendweight, I am (as of this morning) eating 16 calories a day MORE THAN I BURN.
I'm giving the scale and Trendweight another week to "change their tune" and pay me what they owe me. If that doesn't happen, I will suck it up and reduce my deficit!"5 -

25th March: 119.8 scale/ 119.1 trend
Success/struggles of the week: This was a frustrating week. My eating was fine and my weight seems to be pretty stable with just some slight fluctuations. On Saturday I strained my back doing yard work and was unable to do my long run on Sunday. I had planned for about 10 miles or 2 hours. I am currently training for a half marathon in May. It was really frustrating because I didn't really do anything to hurt my back. It was fine one minute and the next I could barely stand up straight. It is feeling better today though. I'm hoping to be back running by the end of the week. We are supposed to get some rain though, so who knows. I am just trying to be smart and not injure it worse and let it heal and not do to much too soon. But I hate not running. I can eat a lot more when I run than when I don't. Plus, I just love to run.12 -

Success/struggles of the week: posting a little late, it's a weigh in from Sunday. My son spent a week home, that involves extra eating. Had some yummy vegan and non vegan desserts, went out few times, celebrated pride with a bang, another words, had lots of fun. Took bike rides to work few times, got to go on actual rides a couple of times. It's been sunny and gorgeous here, just a little windy. I've been gradually learning to trust my body's signals when i need to increase my intake to balance the energy spent. I don't track, other than minding portions and weighing daily, so it's an interesting reference point. For instance, i might feel tired, crave sugary things, or just raid the fridge for actual food, like protein, veggies and fruit. So trying to recognize the need for nutrition vs just boredom and behave myself. Happy Easter/ Passover to those who celebrate!11 -

Successes/struggles of the week: some really long work days this week and I’m not sleeping well. It’s been a real battle some evenings not to just say “sod it!” and eat all the food! Trying to be mindful about how my emotions affect me. Anyway Easter break is here in the UK and I have two weeks off work. Step count will drop so I plan to carry on with workouts and try and squeeze in a few extra classes. Plus pre-log as much as possible. Hoping this works!9
