I keep replying to people in February!Happy March ladies,
Becca, my DD is 35 in July and not found “the one” yet. She has gone on line recently and had a few dates. She is going out on Friday with a 27 year old. I told her “too young”! But there is a 32 and 37 year old she has been texting with so fingers crossed. Doesn’t look like I’ll ever be a grandmother as she is my only one. I can’t think about it as t makes me so sad. I was looking forward to that. But never say never. I’m self sabotage too. Good positive thinking.
Terry -- I didn't have my first until after I had just turned 35. Had my second just before I turned 40, and had my third just before I turned 46. Never say never.
Felicia, almost always first mistaken for my youngest's grandmother.

Did 1/2 hr Rejuvination Total Body Toning DVD and then 1/2 hr Karen Voit Slim Physique Upper and Lower Body DVD. The plan for tomorrow is to do the Muffin Top Meltdown DVD.
Becca - lovely table!
hearingyou - I need to log and measure, or like you I would find myself over guesstimating. To send an invitation to someone to be friends, click on the picture of their name, then on the next screen click on their name, the following screen you will find 2 boxes "view diary" and "add as friend". I just find it helpful when I click on "add friend" in the message I send to people I usually put "50+" Then at least they know where they know me from. And, no, you don't have to be a paying member.
Sharon - boo you not being on STD. I mean Short Term Disability (pip - get your mind out of the gutter....lol)
Tomorrow I'm supposed to go to the Biltmore Estate with a friend of mine. Went to the bank today since I know we're going to have lunch there tomorrow, saw Lynette for a real little bit, then volunteered at the Green Room. Called ACMoore to see about a cake decorating class and found out that Wilton is pulling out of all the craft stores in the area and this class will no longer be offered. Boo
Vince is still walking around "I fee like crap". Honestly, he's sick and the world has to come to an end. I can't afford to get sick. Newcomer bowling tonight. My sinuses are still acting up so I'll probably take water with me and maybe chew on a piece of gum -- the decongestant dries me out so much
Slept very little last night. Decongestants do that to me. Now it's catching up with me. As I sit at the computer I can feel my head drooping.
Rye - impressive collection of books. Thanks for explaining what "close your rings" meant. I was wondering
Wendy - so many times I do something out of haabit and don't remember that I did it. Like coming back from FL I couldn't remember if I put my toiletries in the suitcase along with my curling iron. Of course, I did. It was just habit
Allie - I must have missed it -- what's the scoop with the lawyer?
Barbara - It's your bithday! I must have missed that, too. Happy birthday!
Felicia - no matter how hard I tried, I could never ever do crow.
Michele in NC6 -
Janet, I’m so proud of you and your weight loss efforts.
Heather, the new house is cute as can be. It seems big!
My goals for March are to walk at least 25 days of the 31, do weight training at least 12 times, and to finish “The Purpose Driven Life.” Also, I want to continue with the habits that are fairly engrained of decluttering, bullet journaling, logging my food. I am failing miserably at getting enough sleep, but my body naturally wakes up, so I’m going to not worry about that one for a while. Giving up soda for Lent has been going well. Hopefully I won’t miss it come Easter.
My master bath is coming along. Hopefully it will be finished by the end of next week. Then the fun starts all over again with the hall bath. The shower and tub are looking good. I can’t wait to see the floor, but of course that will be the last thing. This guy is great, and so worth none of those others working out. He is not only a great craftsman, but just a truly nice guy who seems to love us.

Heather - your prospective home is wonderful! Love the expansive windows and the fenced garden! The light must be fantastic. The light in a shore area always has a special quality.
Lisa - your AR rental property looks perfect: a beautiful view and lots of privacy.
Big windstorms moving in tonight. PupPup & I will run errands and fill the gas tank ahead of the storm, and hopefully get in a short walk.

HAPPY 68TH BIRTHDAY, BARBARA, :drinker: You are just a bit younger than me.

I was looking at a link someone gave me for a 5 week kettlebell program but I’m finding a bit confusing. Also it seems to be intermediate rather than beginners. Anyone have another idea for me.1

Terri ... Me too! I want to start kettleballs but need to start really slowly. Mary?
Wendy ... thank you for posting Jessamy's TED talk! Heather ... one would never know that your DIL had not done public speaking before! Thoroughly enjoyed her talk ... and need to share it.
Barbie ... Happy Birthday! And thank you for keeping our group moving along!
Sharon ... I am sorry that you need to be on disability and hope that you can get approved for disability benefits soon! Congratulations to your daughter! An art show of that size is quite an accomplishment! I loved the painting that you shared with us.
Heather ... your potential new home is lovely! Location, location, location! Keeping my fingers crossed that all goes smoothly!
Rye ... do you use a weighted hula hoop? I have one ... I think it might be too heavy ... it beats me up something fierce! And I am not good at keeping it up.
Pat ... so sorry you and your family have been having such a difficult time health wise ... here's to a healthy month for you and yours!
I don't remember what my February Goals were which goes to show you that I wasn't putting effort into them either then. But it is always my goal to be lighter ... and that I accomplished in the last 10 days of February.
So my March Goal is to be lighter at the end of the month ... taking it one day at a time ... which I WILL (my word for the year).
Went grocery shopping as my DH has been complaining about the lack of food choices. I confess we had gotten to bare bones. Today, however, I also took inventory of the freezers. These were packed and I need to start preparing meals based off of their contents.
We are expecting a doozy of a storm tonight into tomorrow. I was really hoping that the snow was done, but they're anticipating anywhere between 8 and 16 inches ...

Some of you may remember my disappointment in January when my faithful pedometer wouldn't download the data to my computer. I solved the problem by creating an excel spreadsheet to keep track of my steps, total the numbers, and provide an average steps for the month. Even so I tried a few times a week to download data and a few weeks ago, the process worked. Nevertheless, I've continued to enjoy my spreadsheet because it's easy to access and allows me to see daily what my step average was for the month. Yesterday I realized that I wouldn't reach the artificial goal I'd set for myself so I spent half an hour before bedtime walking back and forth in the house while listening to an audio book so I'd get the needed steps. My step goal for the month was 15,000 steps a day but in December and January I'd gotten over 17,000 steps a day average and I decided that I couldn't go to bed without reaching that goal again.
I've done that during my workplace annual step challenge in October.
I also keep track of my exercise on a spreadsheet. I've been keeping track of my cycling that way since 2000, and on paper before that, some of which I've entered into spreadsheet too. I've been keeping track of walking and other exercise since I joined MFP in 2015. So the numbers and totals I post are actually copied and pasted from my spreadsheet.Machka, I don't think I've told you how much I enjoy reading your accounts and statistics of your bike riding. I admire your consistency and the way you ride day in and day out even with the challenges and demands of your work and school schedule.
Thanks! All the cycling and walking etc. actually helps keep me sane. I need to be active, preferably outside, to allow me to think through what I need to do and get things in order.
And when I'm working on long projects day after day at work or university which don't seem to be coming together the way I like and the end is not in sight ... going out for a decent bicycle ride gives me a feeling like I've finished something and accomplished something at last, and then I can go back to the project and feel a bit refreshed with it. Plus I may have thought of a different way to approach it.Barbie from beautiful NW Washington
Is it your birthday? If so ... Happy Birthday!

Thanks for the good wishes. DD stopped in on her way home from the hospital. To be honest,I admit to not knowing much more than when SIL was admitted.
DD is satisfied with his care,so we are just hoping he is better soon. After parking On hospital property,it’s a 25 min walk to his room.
BETH,it’s sounding like a huge storm in your area.Hunker down & stay safe.

Barbie, thanks for getting us into March! In like a lamb with temps in the low 50's and sun/rain today. I feel the same way as others have said.... this group is almost like a lifeline. Just knowing you are here means a lot.
I've read thru the posts today but not much time to respond. Lots going on in my head anyhow, getting DH ready for his doc visit tomorrow. I filled out his info sheets - probably put info in there he doesn't want to talk about with the doc but geeze, the doc has to know.
DH insists on driving tomorrow, should be OK. I've ridden with him several times the past couple days and he's a good driver. His car is more comfortable than mine too. I have maps and will be the co-pilot.
He hasn't been sleeping well at night so he naps during the day (maybe that's why he doesn't sleep at night!). Just worried, worried. When he gets up at 2, the dogs wake up and I get up to let them outside so the whole house wakes up!
OK, I weighed myself this morning. Up 1.3 lbs for the month but I am not complaining, I'm still within my BMI and thankful it's not worse since we've been eating a lot of junk food it seems and take-out. Still getting in my strength routine 3 times a week. Anxious to start walking again (another week or two). My foot is feeling SOME better but not 100%. Doc said it could take 4 to 6 weeks.
I am thinking of going to a foot reflexologist in town and really having her give my feet the once-over. She might find something in those little achy metatarsals.
Wendy - I laughed out loud at that little Happy Birthday vid. That guy can move! Kudos to all of you hula - hoopers! I wasn't coordinated enough to do it as a kid and haven't tried since.
OK, will close for now.
Have a good evening!

I'm here; haven't had time to lurk.
We also had a grown child do a real number of elder abuse, mostly along the lines of deciding to put my DH's mother into an A.L.F., and she went downhill very quickly. Part of it was that she could not lift his DD's baby and she decided she did not need someone she had moved out of her own home (she was perfectly able to take care of herself). She had gotten sick with a flu-like illness and after she got well and discharged from hospital, she had made arrangements for her to go directly to the A.L.F. I can't now remember all the hoopla; other than she had her change her Will, then had the title to her car signed over to her, but paying a lot of her own personal bills out of her money. DBnL found the Will and he and DH took her to change it back to the way it was. They had earlier given her a Durable Power of Attorney, which is meant to only make medical decisions (much like a Living Will); but, not as if making life or death decisions. It gave her the right to be in with the MDs and ask questions that might help to make decisions about treatment. So, since she moved near her, and both of them loved each other so much, we trusted her. Then, when we'd go down there to visit MnL, it was like as soon as we walked through the door and signed in, DD was there in 5 minutes flat. Sometimes even with her hair wet and no makeup on. So BnL's former SnL who was babysitting for her (GD), she called one week to tell him they were going on vacation, and if we wanted to have time with her without interference, we needed t come that weekend. But, before we got there, she got wind of it (that we were coming down). All Hell broke loose, and she and DBnL got into a screaming match because we had found out that she had taken them off her checking/savings accounts. She had wiped out her Granddaddy's lockbox, that she had emptied. She was able to do this because she pulled a POA off the Internet and made it out so that MnL had given all powers about everything to her. Her biggest "UT OH" was that she showed that it was "Prepared by" herself. In FL, that is against the law; she and her friend at the A.L.F. parlayed about $100K into about $750K in 2 years investing in slumlord houses and lost their shirts in trying to flip them. Oh, the kicker was that MnL knew she had done something wrong because she got her to sign papers and said she did not have to read them. KARMA is a *kitten*; and I've forgiven her in my heart and I know I won't be around, or if I am, won't care. We had only been invited to their home once since she married her husband, who we liked. For the wake, we went to her house after going to the funeral home and when we got there they had a pool crew digging a pool. I commented about it to DH, and SnL went over and told them to pack it up and they'd reschedule. DD came running out of the house screaming and cursing about them not going to have it finished by summer. I had done a lot of research and presented it to the guys. We could have bailed her; but by that time she had raped the estate and it just wasn't worth going after her.
Dana - I say this, because you have to choose your battles carefully. You can go and get an appointment to talk to an attorney who specializes in estates to talk about your mother's estate and one that specializes in elder abuse. Then you would need to decide which fork in the road to take or to turn back and let it lie. Do you try the probate court route and have them order to put all assets back into the pot and possible get something that reminded you of your mother or do you hire an attorney to try to prove your mother's death was brought about by neglect. Both would pretty be difficult, at best. Sometimes, it causes you too much stress trying to do 'what you think is right'. Personally, I'd try to talk to the Probate Judge and he/she could give you good advice, even if the PJ says you'd need to talk to an attorney about it, they'd still be able to handle some things. If there was no original Will to be found, if she had written any of her children out of the Will, I would think your sister would have to have proven that. Sounds like she was very manipulative. Sometimes you are much better off walking away. The PJ, probably, could order that y'all have the right to empty the house of all contents and tell the reverse/second mortgage your parents took out, that you never signed a contract and they can't get a dime out of turnip. I was blessed with 2 older sisters. The oldest one took it upon her shoulders to take care of Mother, both physically and financially for as long as she could; but, we still had to agree she needed to be in an A.L.F. She provided both of us with a tatement each month showing income and disbursements. We were a famly with 3 children. It worked for us. As for MnL's issue ... DH's DD does not exist, she is a stranger we met along our lives' journey.
Good Luck to you and your decisions. Don't let it rip you apart. Enjoy your childred and grandchildren, and as you said ... your sister is displaying her own insecurity and she'll have to answer for it one day. Other than that ... I have no other suggestions. Sorry!

Happy Birthday, Barbara.
Barbie: Thank you for getting this and every month off to a positive start.
I did not set goals for February and intentionally went out of my way to undo my early morning wake up routine in order to allow my DH more peace and quiet to sleep in the AM. New month and new found flexible schedule starting in March, so hear goes.
> meditate every morning
> practice reiki daily
> gym 6x per week
> average 10k steps per day
> be lighter
The Home and Garden Show was productive. Went with specific goals for what we wanted to find in the way of fireplaces, and accomplished it. There was also a vendor with a full display of exercise equipment, and I persuaded DH to try the rowing machine that works with water in a tank providing the resistance. He was enchanted. It was so quiet, I could comfortably use it while watching TV at night. And it was designed so that you could easily pick up one end and wheel it up to stand against the wall. Have to say, I'm all motivated to find one on Craigslist.
My last day at work was awesome. Lots of calls and a few cards came in. Sent a message on FB to 130 friends, and requested support of our council in Puerto Rico. Thus far that has generated $1100 in donations and they are still coming it. Haaaappppeeeee!
Stay well friends. We can do this.

Evening ladies. I am trying a new tactic today. I am not touching anything with my left hand at all today. Well at least the thumb and index finger. I have a sweatshirt on so I am not wearing a bra. Putting on my jeans as difficult but I did it. I did call my doctors office today. I had to get my new script for my Narco and I told them about how painful my fingers are. I wouldn't follow through with it but I just wanted to cut those two fingers off. Since the office didn't call me back with any response, I will put a note in 'Veiw my chart' and that will make sure that the nurse got my concern.
Happy birthday Barbara. I will be 68 on Saturday. Michelle hasn't been able to be with us for about a month and we miss her. She has had problems with her house, leaking roof, and she does a lot of work for her rescue organization. But one of my favorite places to go for my birthday is Red Lobster and I know she loves to go there. So she readily said she would go out with us. She has a guy she works with as a room mate. He is this little short guy, 5"4', that is from Vietnam that is the funniest thing. We just love him. It is only a room mate situation. She is 5"11' so it would be strange if they are dating. But he takes care of the dogs when she is gone, etc. They work the same shift at the same company so it works out a lot. Anyway, this guy will be coming also.
So far my fingers are ok. So goodnight. Joyce, Indiana7
