I slept alot last night I guess I needed it. trying to rest up for today.. going to be very tough emotionally and mentally , I do not like going to court ,but with a great attorney it is much easier.. will keep you all in my pocket for strength..10 -

Okie- I have a German Shepherd and a Pyrenees. My DH had carpet in the kitchen when I moved in. We replaced it twice in 10 years. The last carpet met its demise when the Pyrenees ate a hole in it after I spilled bacon grease-oops. Because of the dogs, we didn't want wood. Dogs equal scratches and water. We found this luxury vinyl planking and it has been installed in our kitchen for 9-10 years. No it isn't as soft as the carpet, but is so easy to clean. Even with dogs, grand kids, water, and spills, it looks as good today as it did then. I just mop with water and a microfiber occasionally and sweep or vacuum when looks crumby. My bathroom is heated tile flooring. It too was carpet. We need to replace the carpet in the house, but at this point, will have to wait. I love carpet in the bedrooms. The living room, dining room and hallways are still up for debate. Carpet is warmer and easier on the legs, but harder to keep clean. I will also say that the newer carpets don't hold up like the old ones. The carpet in said dining room, hallway and living room are over 30 years old. Yes, they are starting to show wear, but the carpet in our bedroom is only about 12 years old and is awful! Good luck on your decision making ahead.

Laundry still going, but at least I have clean work clothes today
Work which I did not do over the weekend. Then AHHHH massage tonight. Better get that water in today as well. Have been lax on that for 3 days. SMH

Kylia- I LOVE the flooring! We have vinyl plank flooring in two of our bedrooms. I installed it and it does go in very easily. I wore my gardening knee pads through the whole installation process.

Pip- I love all of your dogs; but Yogi seems to be such a hambone! He is always looking right into the camera, like he is posing!
I was talking to DH last night about the interviews he has this week. He is worried if he gets the third shift job; that when DYS moves out (most likely in the next year) that I will be all alone at night. I told him we could get a dog. And he said, "I would want it to be a big dog, so it can protect you!" (Aaawwww! So sweet!) But Whoot! A dog!!! I have been dying for a malamute for YEARS; but because of my daycare, I would want to build an outdoor enclosure for it, so that I don't have to shut it up in a room in the house for 8-10 hours a day. I couldn't do that to a dog. SO...we spent some time looking at puppies online from breeders across the state, then checking pricing for a dog run/enclosure. I had a malamute mix, growing up; so I was able to warn my DH about the digging and the fence climbing (they tend to be escape artists). I am trying to contain myself. I am sure, if he doesn't get a third shift job, he will say we don't need the dog. IF he doesn't find employment we won't be able to afford a dog. BUT...the fact that he would be willing to get one, will be making me push for one as soon as he is working again. A dog, a dog, a dog! I'm getting a dog! Might be a year...but it's coming!
Well, I am off. As soon as I get some photos of the kids in the sand, I will post some photos. AFter I got the kitchen beach built and filled yesterday, I jumped in the shower. While in there, I crunched down on some gritty sand that had some how made it into my mouth. Yuck. Sand is a pain in the a*s, but when your town is basically built on sand dunes, it tends to become a way of life. It is everywhere, all of the time. Even in the winter, sand is always mixed in with the snow/mud that comes in on the boots. Like Christmas tree pine needles, that appear when you are cleaning in July??!! What?! MACHKA Thinking of you All good thoughts for your DH & yourself.Our family has just been thru ( still is) something similar.Dd’s husband (50 some) had just gone thru chemo for cancer.Seemed to be doing well,Drs were pleased with his progress.He had a seizure at home,emerg squad took him to the hospital..........he could barely stand,walk or talk.Lots & lots of tests.....none showing a cause. His walking,talking seemed to come back on it’s own.Wasn’t a stroke ....
After 3 wks,he moved to the best rehab/ therapy hospital DD could find & insur approved for 20 days.A team of 5 ,all specialists in diff types of PT are in charge & spent 6 hrs a day with him in special areas.This hosp works with auto accident,stroke,brain damaged & all needing intensive PT. He was tired,but improving by the day.Lost wt,as he had no interest in food.Therapist took care of that,explaining how he needed 3 meals & 2 snacks to be strong enough for intensive therapy.....or the longer he would be there.Bless his heart,he was a bit wobbly,but walked as long as someone held his hand.Very tired from the PT.
He went home after 6 wks total & the PT continues there for 2 wks.Both are So happy ....He loves his home & it has been a long process for DD.Scared,not knowing,driving most every day 40 mins each way to be with him,this while working 2 jobs.Her response to anyone saying she needed to cut back was “he would do the same for me”.He is talking,walking .....his report expects “full recovery”.Both work for diff school districts & jobs are safe.

Good morning from the pollen covered piney woods of east Texas. My name is Grace, age 57 and desperate to get back on a plan and start making progress again.
I posted on here probably a year or so ago for a little while. I've been trying to go it alone and that's just not working for me. I recently abandoned the social media thing and do not regret that decision but do miss my support group.
I'm married and we celebrated 39 years of wedded life over the weekend. We have one son, and two daughters and four amazing grandchildren. I am active in my church. I love to cook and enjoy crocheting, sewing, quilting and have dreams about writing a best selling cookbook. Lol

Jake thinks I don't want to spend the money, but the truth is that I am boggled by all the choices and having to compromise with someone else and terrified at the prospect of moving furniture to deal with the change. So, instead we do nothing.Allie, I'm sending you good thoughts today. You can do this and you'll be so much better off when the ordeal is over.Kelly, A dog. What a happy thought.Heather, Yes, discipline is my freedom. Also, I had trouble with alcohol in my 20's and made the decision to be alcohol free and my life is better for it. Barbie 7

Barbie - that sums it up at our house too. I refused to think about replacing our carpeting for the longest time - now, the allergies have turned up the heat on this issue, at least for replacing the living room carpeting. What to get - vinyl plank? Vinyl tile? Bookcases, heavy furniture, moving a cast iron woodstove.... we can't do this ourselves so will have to hire someone to help with all that. BUT that is on the list for this summer.
Our master bedroom shower needs to be replaced - the fiberglass seat has cracked. Again, just don't want to deal with upheaval and can't afford to replace everything in that room. Ugh. When we get ready to sell, I think we'll get this place as clean as we can and put in the listing "fixer upper" and adjust the price accordingly.
Kylia - great job on your floors! Our 83 year old neighbor laid the vinyl flooring in her rental house by herself! If the rooms were bare, and I could take my time, I would tackle it provided the subfloor was sufficient.
In the meantime, I will enjoy the fruits of other's labor, lol.

Yesterday was an adventure. I planned to go out to the stable and work with Arrow. When I got there, NOBODY was there, and even the farm vehicles were not in evidence. I make it a point not to work with Arrow unless there is someone else around so I went home. I intended to get DH and go back out to the stable, but it was one thing after another for the rest of the day. A toilet on the ground floor began leaking and we need to get it repaired or replaced. Then we were cooking and set our smoke detector off. I'm hoping for a less eventful day today.

Kylia ~ I think your floors look just like the ones my son is having put in his house. They have redone two bathrooms, put in a new ac/hc unit, and will get marble counter tops once the floors have been put in. Then the DnL is painting everthing from the standard mustard gold that came with the house to light gray.
Barbie ~ It only took 2 days to have our floors replaced and they moved the furniture so we didn't have to hassle with it. The things that were the worst was having to remove the asbestos flooring in the kitchen and getting the other floors dried out from the massive refrigerator leak.
Lanette ~ I would love to have my bathrooms remodeled; but, like Barbie, I wouldn't know where to start. I would also like to get new windows (all mine were painted shut and can't be raised) and I would love to have my kitchen cabinets refinished. All will happen in time. Right now, we need to get a new fence across the back yard due to all the constructions from 60 new houses being built down the road from us.

Carol - what did you put down in your kitchen - was it tile? I can't remember, but do recall it was quite a project. Bet it looks great!
