When I was a kid, you would have thought I was a monkey I ate so many bananas. Now, I cannot stand the smell of them...

Sheep trotters and tripe. Why would anyone choose to eat it?!

    Also, this stuff. tf66lqm6jkio.jpg

Once when I was 7 or 8, my sister and I ate a whole packet of it between us. Never felt so sick after and never touched the stuff again.

What is this? It looks like ice.

Green peas. Don't like them alone or in "fancy" casserole Mom used to make. You know, tuna noodle casserole with canned peas and those little cubed carrots...

All we are saying ....is give peas a chance.

I puked after eating dipping dots. So no bueno.

I remember dipping dots. Dots of sugar on paper, right? When my cousin, Debbie Sue, was little she was caught eating bird poop off the fence. She thought they were dipping dots. She is 64 now, but, to this day, we still call her Birdie Sue.

Me and Birdie Sue. Around 1957.

Dipping dots are like an icecream thingy. They’re like small hail sized balls of icecream.

Any type of dark soda. I don't remember ever actually liking it, but my mom says I used to drink coke until I started having UTIs a lot, like a lot of little girls do, and was given water to drink all the time as a way to help prevent them.
Even as a teenager, I never liked dark soda and now only ever drink any type of soda if I'm at a restaurant where I know the water tastes bad.
I've even tried to like Dr Pepper, since everyone seems to like it I figured I'd give it a fair chance, but no... it's still pretty nasty

Byrd liver dust — this is what my botched spelling of liverwurst resulted in. It’s true: I’ve never liked Byrd liver dust and never will. But now that I’m a grownup I’m a liver lover, though I avoid it.

Not a big fan of blood sausages (prietas), but I can tolerate them.

Sat at the table for hours as a kid gagging and crying when Mom tried to force me to eat soggy cooked zucchini. Still not a fan, but I’ll eat it.

I hated brussel sprouts so much as a kid, I behaved like I was being poisoned when I had to eat them. I finally tried them again shaved and roasted at a restaurant a few years ago and they were amazing. It turns out I just dont like BOILED brussel sprouts, which is the only way my mother ever made vegetables (frozen, boiled, and drenched in butter :s ) No I roast them all the time, it's become one of my favorite foods.

    warm milk.
They used to make me drink warm milk in Russia because I was underweight (oh the irony!) but they'd boil it and it would get this film on it....
I always snuck it to someone else who liked it.

When I was a kid I hated lima beans with all my soul. As an adult, I love them. Conversely, as a kid I really liked broccoli. Now, not so much.

I always avoided eating raw tomatoes, and even claimed to be allergic to them. Now I like them but only chopped or diced. It's something about the texture of a big thick slice of cold tomato (ugh), not so much the flavor.

I've only had ground turkey ONCE when I was in college. My boyfriend's mom put it in her sauce for spaghetti and I almost puked. NEVER tried it again ever, even when friends tell me it's come a long way in the past 20 years and now tastes great...I am not going to try it. I don't even care for other types of turkey but the idea of ground turkey makes me sick.

Yellow squash and fish in general. I love both now.
There was this yellow squash and tuna casserole my mom would make that I wouldn't touch. She made me take a bite and I threw up in the bowl.

    Fish, most meat, and eggs.
I grew into them, then I became vegan and grew out of them.

Avoided? I've spent my life trying to figure out how Mom and her sister made that stuff so good. I think her sister's had something to do with milking the cow and harvesting the eggs before breakfast. The bacon came from the smokehouse where last fall's hog was kept. The only thing they had to buy was flour for the biscuits, and those were awesome biscuits.

I wish I could like brussel sprouts. They are beautiful on the stalk. Why do they taste so bitter though? :s
