@kittybenn I hear you. There’s just something especially heartbreaking about any implication that we’re not trusted with the most precious people on earth to us. That came up in the latest season of Grace and Frankie with Lily Tomlin’s character, and even though it didn’t involve alcohol it just slew me
But we need to be compassionate to ourselves. We know better and we do better. For you relative “youngsters” here, be so thankful you’re working through this now. May your grown children never have to have a second’s concern about entrusting you with their (and your) most beloved little humans.6 -
Drank last night 3 beers as planned for my moderation. I was fine but my partner lost it over a plate!!! Started yelling and wouldn’t stop no matter how calmly I asked him to stop yelling. We’re on a boat in a marina and of course all our boat neighbours got to watch the show. He needs to quit too. Not sure what I should do about this. Right now I want to just go home away from him.8

@amberellen12 One of the most important reasons I need to give it up is I would have fights with my husband and wake up in the morning and wonder why he was not speaking to me. I literally would not remember one word I said. Thank you for sharing this story with us. It really reinforces my desire to stay 100% sober.10

Just finished going to my birth town because of Dad passing. What a tough week with much to do and grief. Even got a ticket. Don't the police ever give warnings anymore?? It wasn't done on purpose.Usually I drink and heavily having to deal with family members. Still had to deal with "xxxx" from certain family even though we postponed the service to a few months from now. If it wasn't for Dad, I wouldn't even feel like doing this service. Some cities in the US are known to promote and do more drinking than others, too. Had to deal with all of it in one week. Still AF. Truly a miracle. And I told you just some of it all. I have to catch up on you all now.7

My sympathies to you. Sometimes other family members can really test our resolve to stay positive and loving. I bet you dealt with your grief quite differently being Af than if you would have been drinking away the pain. Are you on our June thread?0
