I love this! Small goals are a great start & definitely add up over time. I need to kick it into gear and get back on track. Swimsuit season is literally around the corner.
5/08 - 220.2 - Last week I was at 215.4 and I know a 5lb gain of fat is quite literally impossible. I had WAY too much fun over the weekend and it is definitely reflected on the scale today.

@quiltingjaine is my resource. She's on a cruise right now, but she's been very helpful on my recent foray into Keto.
That being said, I'm getting the hang of this low-carb (Keto for me) thing, and I'm happy to talk with you about it.3 -

Thank you @puddlegoober!! Your post made me realize that I’m now lower than the weight I dieted down to in high school.
Especially helpful since my brain had begun that crazy voice: “See you’ve lost 25 lbs in the last 6 months - and you STILL look the same” nonsense. I have discarded my clothes that were too large, but I managed to scrounge up a pair of old sweatpants that I saved as pajamas for cold winter nights. That made the voice STOP.
Thank you!4 -

@lolakinks “Yesterday I ate a little more than I should because of being with my cousins. When I'm with someone or busy it's hard chose what I eat...”
YES, me too AND I don’t register (in my mind) each bite or sip. I’ve begun having tea or coffee when I’m socializing at a meal time. My logic: “Why eat it if I’m not going to notice it!”5 -
So many of you have done fantastic with this challenge! It gives me motivation to continue!7

Entirely new reply. MFP doesn't allow you to edit posts beyond 1 hour. I just keep a Word file and copy paste. It also allows me to have the data ready for an Excel spreadsheet I keep.5 -
@mlhopp93
My keto experience:
I did not have keto flu. I think because I had reduced my carb grams by half of MFP'S suggestion at the same time that I began intermittent fasting. My advice to anyone who is thinking about starting keto is to first take 2 weeks to do IF. 12 hour fast, 12 hr eating window is easiest. After a couple of days, you should be able to do 14/10. A few days of that, 16/8 should be easy.
*If you are unsure about keto right now, do IF.
* On keto you should not have too much protein. Your carb + protein gram total should equal or be close to your fat gram total. That is the correct way. Some days, I am dead on, other days not. You must decide if you want to count the total carbs or use net carbs. People debate on that. I use net carbs, it allows some give.
*Leafy vegetables are important for your nutrient intake! I'd advise you to test yourself on your upper limit of veg carbs while you are attempting to become fat adapted. My upper limit was 50 grams of carbs in the first month of keto.
* You probably will need a good multi vitamin and maybe a B complex. Your water intake must be increased. You WILL be going to the bathroom A LOT. You will need to increase sodium and potassium and magnesium because you will have to replace your electrolytes. I make an electrolyte water of 16 ozs water, 1/6 tsp of pink salt or sea salt; 1/6 tsp of Nu-Salt (potassium) I'm using an ingestible magnesium spray right now, because its what I currently have. 5 to 10 sprays in the water. I drink it daily. You will initially lose a lot of water weight and then your fat loss will be more normal, from 1 lb and up to 3 lbs some weeks. Your body will hold on to fluid, so your weight will increase from it. Sometimes that fluid retention lasts for a week or more. Then one day you will get that "whoosh" that everyone talks about. Personally, I don't think 1 or 2 pounds is a whoosh. So far, I've had two. 5 lbs and last Sunday's 3 lbs. That is a lot of water! So you can't get discouraged and begin stress eating, because it's just water and your body will release it. So, Keep Calm and Keto On. We can complain about it though. Lol.
I also became fat adapted very quickly. It took 1 week. That is where you want to be. I've read that it takes some people up to 2 months to bcome fat adapted. Don't give up.
My signs for being fat adapted were:
*not being hungry
*I don't have cravings
*I do not have any desire to eat my trigger foods or any carbs
*If I choose to eat more carbs, like those belgian waffles I ate on Sunday, my body will burn off the glucose and go right back to burning fat as it's fuel source
**The downside of 20 and under grams of carbs and being on keto for me is that I miss eating fruit. You can only have berries and do not think that means a bowl full or even one measuring cup full. I eat 5 raspberries OR 2 large strawberries for example. You have to plan for fruit. On a low carb diet I could eat a wider range of fruits.
My diary is open if you think that will give you some insight to keto WOE. Just send me a message. Any other questions that you have. I'll be happy to answer if I can.
Good luck to you!
Tish

This is my first round. I Started dieting last may lost 22 kg before desember. Then I stopped logging. Didnt gain before easter. And then I guess I just thought hey I have masterd this I can just eat without thinking because now I know what is enough. But I guess I was thinking more about what I was eating before easter because 5 kg jumped on so I am back to logging.

Nothing works unless you have a sustained calorie deficit over time. Anything will work if you have a sustained calorie deficit over time.
Motivation is overrated. What you need is education, willingness to eat less, a good plan, and discipline to stick to it.
