Frankly, your partner needs to grow up, man up or get the f@$k up and move his ar5e out the door.
You look gorgeous as it is. Simply beautiful.
Do this whole MFP thing for yourself, nobody else.
You're absolutely right. Thank you so much! I need to get my confidence back!!
It is him wrecking your self-confidence, trust me I know this.20 -
I have plenty of serious reasons but the petty one is that a gentleman I have a crush on, but who rejected my advances (but we are friends), is coming to visit my area in a couple months and I want to knock his socks off.34

I’ve always kept a pretty fit body, and was able to get most of it back after having a baby. Cue getting pregnant with twins.... I’m sure everyone thought I’d never come back from that (especially me!) But I’m stubborn, and had something to prove. Still working on toning up my belly, but I’m back to pre-pregnancy weight and then some! I love the looks on people’s faces when they see me with 10 month old twins and a 4 year old. Petty, but so satisfying:)33

Preach sister I feel you! We can do this!!9 -
1. To have the “superhot beach body” when I go on holiday
2. Because I’ve seen photos of myself lately and thought “hell no”
3. My ripped skinny jeans no longer look good
4. To make the guy I was seeing (older than me) think twice before he decides to cold shoulder me!!6 -
Honestly, I was tired of hearing how my thinner coworker is "Soooo hot." And how, I "can't possibly understand." Really? I can't? I wanted so badly to reply, "Dude, I'm fat. I'm not Quasi--freaking--moto!"
Retail, man. Killer of self-esteem everywhere.17 -
My weight has always been so up and down. I went through a pretty good period high school-college where I was fit. I'd get compliments and hit on...I know this is super petty but I want to get those compliments and get some head turns again7

To not feel like a failure. I have been at goal weight 5 times. The last time I lost 28 kg over 3 years. I want to stay at goal weight 'forever', it's one of my dreams (another of my dreams is to get married, imagine getting married at goal weight!).
To go to the Philippines and be referred to as the "sexy Kano". There sexy means slim and Kano means white person.6 -
To stay strong so I can look hot lifting heavy things!! Lol I still lift heavy things but not looking hot!9

My ex did this - commented about how men (and women) were attractive. I asked her to stop and explained why (I have always felt insecure about how I looked) and she did actually make an effort to stop saying things.12 -
So I look good in my teams speedos at competitions and don't feel like I have to wear jammers all the time!4

My petty reason is that my family is all very overweight and have been a bit mixed in reactions since I’ve stopped eating meat and dairy (they give me wicked, curl-in-a-ball stomach aches and leave me bloated and fatigued). I’m at the high end of a normal weight, have a fairly active job (I’m a Sous Chef) and know that I can be fitter than what I am. Every time my parents see me they’re always “You’re so skinny” when the only difference is that I’m 150ish (5”6) and they’re all between 220-270. I was a fat, anxious kid and my parents drove my self consciousness (I had some depression issues for awhile and lost 10 pounds and as I was coming out of it, I started eating more again, and my mom asked me if I was concerned about gaining all the weight back and I’ve watched her and my dad struggle with their weight all my life)
Mostly, it just feels good to know that I’m the one taking care of myself. My parents are beginning to have a lot of health issues, and the doctor is concerned about my brother, I worry for them, I want them to be healthy, and I want them to see that I can do it, food can still taste good, and they can take control of their health too.13 -
My boyfriend and I work out together on the weekends, and we joke about wanting to be that obnoxiously fit couple at the gym, lol.

This is a bit morbid but a big reason why I did it is to get doctors and friends/family to take my health problems seriously and not just attribute it to weight. But joke's on me, I'm not overweight anymore, none of my health problems got better, and they still don't take me seriously. No, I'm not bitter, why do you ask? /s
The upbeat reason is that I make a point of always doing what I say I will. I said I'd lose it so I did.19 -
I have a crush on one guy, whos not available, but I really want him to at least find me attractive. Maybe it sounds ridiculous to you all, but at least it keeps me going. Ill see him in September again and i would like to lose 13 more kilograms till then, or 10 at least.17

My petty reason:
My husband and I separated a few months ago. I don't really care what he thinks (or at least I'm trying not to), but I would LOVE to be able to call him up to ask him if I can pick up the box of too-small clothes I left behind. At the time, I just didn't want another box to move. Now it would be fantastic to go pick it up and just walk away. Plus, yay new/old clothes!23 -
@jenf330 so many good vibes to you! I went through a divorce about ten years ago and lost about 30lbs in 3months. Some of that was stress induced, but the rest was from eating healthy and exercising. It's like sweet revenge when they see how much better we do when they are gone.6

My wife and I had our first child recently, and we are in our upper 30's, which means by the time he's graduating high school I'll be 55...so even if I'm one of the older dads, I want to be one of the sexier dads19
