I can't stand that the parents of the kids in this school district are so concerned with appearances and convincing others of their value through consumerism. If I have to hear my 16 year old talk anymore about a foreign luxury car being the only thing he'll consider for his first car because that's what his friends have... He's growing up in a much, much different household than I did and I already tamp and temper things in an attempt to avoid any notion of entitlement. Unfortunately, his dad thinks similarly to the crowd.
