Starting weight: 154.4lbs
Goal by December 31:135lbs
Overall goal: 125-130lbs (range but toned is the ultimate goal)
Please tell me how this works.
Welcome @NYCDutchess !
1. You can check First Page for some info...
2. You can weigh once a week
3. Make whatever timing will help you the most. (I set monthly goals. Post when I lose and check off each goal as I pass it)
4. The group creator posted his exercise schedule.
Molly nailed it. It's just a group to share your successes and failures and get some input and encouragement from others if you like. No rules. Glad you joined us.
And WELCOME to all the new folks. I've had a bad couple of weeks vis-a-vis sticking to my program, but I'm back on track today.

I've been tracking every single day but haven't lost much. Doesn't bother me tho, it's more important to stay tracking. Eating right is the goal, losing weight is a bonus. I'm in no hurry, I've been overweight a long time, it will take a long time to get it off slowly. Keeping the faith 😊6

What is your end objective?
For me, I'm focusing on reducing body fat, and some weight.
If I get down to the body fat level (and lean muscle mass) that I want (low 20 or high teens), and my weight says that I haven't lost a pound, or even gained some weight, I'd be ok with that.
Because I'll still look better with that weight with less body fat.
So I don't have a set number for my weight.
I'm just trying to keep going down until I'm happy with the body fat %.

Good question!
I have a few. One is for scale weight, and maybe I have the wrong goal there. My initial objective was about 150 pounds. I revised that down, and maybe that was my mistake. I know the lower range is attainable, but as I have read about other topics, it may not be sustainable. I'm in the healthy BMI range (22.9 - 23.7 lately), so that's a success since it was as high as 26.9 at one point
Other goals focus on body fat, strength, and fitness. I have a scale with bioelectrical impedance, but I don't really trust the numbers. That scale is failing, and the one I bought to replace it gives very different numbers for all parameters, so I may swap the new one out for one that's more consistent with the old one. I've had a slow, steady decrease in body fat; that's another success. I take summers off from the gym because of other physical activities. I will get back to strength work around equinox.

Hey everyone! Thanks for all the support last week! This week has been so much better. I’m back on track and already lost my “gained weight” and a few pounds more. I think part of my gain was water retention from all the bad foods so luckily it dropped off quick. I’m also incorporating intermittent fasting into my meal plan which definitely seemed to help! Now I just need to up the exercise, and I think I’m still on target for goal by December! Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Hi! How is everyone? It’s been a good week for me...I’ve been sticking to my calorie range and doing intermittent fasting. Weighed in at 154 this am, although today has been rough with 2 social obligations involving all day eating/drinking. Hoping to get right back at it tomorrow. Now that I’m really noticing changes, I want to keep at it, but I’m also getting that itch to splurge too often and too much with the justification that “I’ve earned it.” I know that feeling well and have let it de-rail my progress before so I really want to avoid that this time. Fingers crossed! Hope everyone’s week is going well!

Feeling discouraged. This week has been a blunder. I feel like lately most of my September days have been blunders. I soooo understand this.
I am in the same boat.
I am choosing to take this week as BREAK week, where I eat at maintenance calories and work out less, so I don't continue to feel deprived.
I'll be back at it next week.3 -

Woo!!!!! I lost more than 2 lbs this month. I'm ecstatic for this feat! It is so hard to lose weight at this height.
I'm glad that I have been eating a little less. I've been cutting back a bit on how much bad snacking I do - chips, pretzels, cookies, etc. And I visit the vending machine a little less. It's right down the hall from my office so it's always a temptation.
I have not really been doing strenuous exercising - only walking and biking. I'm extremely happy about this weight loss because if I keep this up then I can reach my goal by April 2019. I most certainly want to look my best for myself, fiance, and my family.
Big news - I'm engaged!!! My fiance asked me the big question last weekend and I could not be happier!! My incentives now included my niece's quincenera in April 2019 and fitting 'properly' into my future wedding dress.
Let's keep going everyone!!!8 -
Way to go, Syreina! Losing slowly is good,it helps reinforce good eating habits. Congrats on the engagement too. I'm going on 30 years and it's wonderful. Try bringing carrot sticks or fruit for snacks at work, to resist the machines. Keep up the great work.3
