    @shanaber - loved your race report. Great pictures. It's so beautiful there with the mist/fog. Sounds like you guys made the most of your trip. Congrats to your daughter on an incredible PR, and glad you made it through the long wait for a porta potty. That's pretty terrible.

    @girlinahat I hope you have a very good break in August.

    This morning would have been a great day to run, low 70's and low humidity. But somehow I got in the middle of an ant hill this past weekend, and I have dozens of ant bites on the top, bottom, in between my toes and it actually hurts to walk. So I am taking the last day of July off. But happy with my consistency of running every other day in July, beating my distance goal with 116 miles (36 miles over goal, matching my PR for monthly miles). Will take this extra rest day, and look forward to tomorrow (August already?!!). Tomorrow morning it is supposed to be even cooler than today with temps below 70F! I can't remember last time it did that. But I know it won't last long, so want to take advantage of that.
    See you all in the August Challenge!

    i accidentally stood on a red ant hill. they swarmed me. i stripped off my pants in the middle of the yard (mowing my lawn) and was swatting at my leg, mumbling curses. i'm sure the neighbors thought i was crazy.

    @girlinahat one trail marathan hands out handy wipes in the registration bag. a friend who like me does shorter distances asked what those were for. well...

    @shanaber great report

    congrats on everyone who made their goals. good work for all who tried but missed.

    ETA: Is the August challenge up yet and I just am not seeing it or did I miss a link in thread?

    @girlinahat have a good, restful August. We will see you back here in September with a new mojo and ready to tackle that HM training.
    @workaholic_nurse the August Running Challenge hasn't been born yet. Hopefully soon....

    @AprilRN10 "running til you aren't mad anymore!" I love it. And can't tell you how many people's lives may have been saved by me doing the exact same thing, lol

    @shanaber What a great race report--the pictures are awesome! Sorry about the lack of facilities--that's just crazy. Congrats to your daughter on her wild new PR!

    I finished up July with another 3 miles on the neighborhood trails. I didn't quite hit 60, but I'm sure I *ran* at least 45-50 miles of it, so I'm content. I'm hoping for a similar August, although I go back to work (preschool teacher) on the 24th, so I'm going to need to work out how I'll be getting my runs in once my schedule changes. I do think I have a plan...run short distances around the neighborhood on Tuesdays and Thursdays (when I don't go in until 9:30) and either run in the evening or on a treadmill in the afternoon on Mondays/Wednesdays, and Fridays until it cools down enough to do afternoon trail runs. Long run on the weekend.

    @ariceroni I have a similar foot niggle. I only notice it in the AM or if dh squeezes my foot. My doc thought it was a Morton's neuroma. MRI and no neuroma. I think i have a bit of chronic tendonitis there. It hurts/feels good to rub.

    Good luck with it, i second @garygse 's advice.

    @rheddmobile super PR
    Ha ha @PastorVincent that signup button calls all our names. I signed up the final race in our trail series. Honestly he’s trying to kill me this race director
    @juliet3455 sorry your run was non run, I have to admit the thought of you sliding in the mud did give me a chuckle
    @AprilRN10 sorry for the clinical mess, hope it all works out for you. Great month of running!
    @shanaber I can’t believe there were NO porta potty earlier in the race. So proud your girl’s PR, that is just simply amazing!!! Love the pictures of the two of you. Thanks for setting up August
    @girlinahat some time off never hurts when you are losing motivation. Come back if you change your mind. You’ll be missed
    Oh @mbaker566 I can feel your pain, I’m so sorry about the ants, it is HORRIBLE. Hope they didn’t get you too bad.
    @ariceroni I agree with @garygse

    @ariceroni While your foot may not be getting any worse, taking pain killers may be masking things, and is a good way to make any injury worse. Get it seen to and let an expert tell you what your best course of action should be. I talk from experience - I did the same thing and wound up with a stress fracture that put me out of action for a couple of months.

    This.

    July goal: 80 miles

    7/1: 7.6 miles
    7/3: 4.2 miles
    7/5: 4.6 miles
    7/6: 4.3 miles
    7/8: 7.1 miles
    7/10: 4.5 miles
    7/11: 4.5 miles
    7/12: 4.5 miles
    7/15: 8.3 miles
    7/17: 4.5 miles
    7/18: 4 miles
    7/19: 4 miles
    7/22: 7.5 miles
    7/24: 4.8 miles
    7/25: 4.2 miles
    7/26: 4.5 miles
    7/29: 3.3 miles
    7/31: 4.3 miles

    90.7/80 miles

    I had a pretty good run this morning. It was a lot cooler at 73F, but it was 95% humidity and the dew point was around 70 so as the run went on it started feeling more difficult. It was nice to be in the low 70s though and tomorrow should be nice too. It's only 89F right now which is really nice for August in Texas. Today has been my busy day at work, so I haven't had a chance to catch up on the thread but I wanted to go ahead and post my last run for July. I'm surprised that I was 10 miles over my goal. I'll really have to think about my goal for August. See you all in the August thread!
