@MegaMooseEsq I'm sorry about Bowie, I'll keep happy thoughts for him.0

Put me in the "hate the treadmill" group... I have not run on one in over 3 years... I have running gear to accommodate all weather conditions and temperatures4

Anyone else suddenly realize that they have been hoping Skip gets her own login and joins us crazies when she wanders off to college??14 -

@garygse LOL. I had one friend who ran on a cruise ship. His activity looked like a speeding bullet with tiny loops on it.
@MegaMooseEsq Hope your pup does better! And Bowie is such an awesome name.
0724-1.8k, total-43.1k, goal-90k
Aborted dreadmill attempt at intervals. Was supposed to do five 400+200, finished two and bailed. I think my gym is too hot for actual running.
It did finally stop raining, though, so 20k cycling in store for today.
Upcoming races:
20181027 Mogan Ultra 30k
20181118 Shanghai Marathon (maybe)5 -
It's yucky here in Calgary today and my husband remembered baby wipes so I'm currently dressed in running kit for our road trip and will run mid-journey. Maybe Lake Louise.
@juliet3455 I think I'm running that section of the river valley trails for MEC race 4. Next time you are in town check out the Edmonton Trail Runners FB page. They do group runs a few times a week. Once I'm done my half marathon in August I'm planning to start doing the Saturday Snakes & Ladders runs with them since it's at social pace and I'm a turtle.
@sarahthes Actually I ran into a group of the Edm Trail Runners at the little hidden gem Whitemud Park just off Fox Drive. I asked them for directions for which trail sent me down to Snow Valley. A great group of people. On my return trip they invited me over to the fire and BBQ they were having, had to decline since I still had a few km's to go and solid food was a bad idea.
I agree with @hanlonsk Skip needs her own account - just so she can keep @skippygirlsmom motivated8 -
@garygse - Thank you... it it the gift that keeps on giving. 😅
@MegaMooseEsq - I hope Bowie is doing well. He is definitely in my thoughts too!
@amymoreorless - I didn't't record a run in Strava but maybe I should post my dog beach pictures from today anyways just for the kudos
Tomorrow is supposed to be the hottest day of the week but I am hoping to get outside for a short run early in the morning. If not I will head to the gym and get on the treadmill. I have been having fun running intervals on it but can't run intervals tomorrow... I only need 3-4 miles hopefully I can manage that! Then Thursday we head off to SF! Supposed to be a high of only 68 on race day! WhooHoo!!

My first 5k was 38 minutes or something. Your pace will improve gradually as your conditioning improves, but there are several female runners here who run 12 minute miles. Great job finding a pace that feels comfortable!
It is? Well, that's a surprise, but good to know. Although I haven't finished a full 5K yet. I think my longest interval without walking in between was like 4k. I think about joining a 5k race in September. And I made the mistake to check the numbers of other people there. Which is stupid, since they are seasoned runners, but I realised that I'm going to need the same time as the walkers or the 10k runners to finish the 5k route. Which is why I saw myself as very slow. But hey, I'm probably going to try it anyway and someone has to be the last one to arrivepolskagirl01 wrote: »Yes, it's a completely acceptable pace for running for fitness or for fun!

After my very successfull run on Friday, I tried again opn Sunday and failed. I wasn't in the right state of mind and had big trouble to keep running. In the end, I sat down at the river and just relaxed.
This morning, it was ok again.
Currently, we have a terrible heat period (33°C/ 90°F) and I hate it so much. Fortunately, it is cooling down a bit during the nights, so it was bearable to run this morning, although my face was in flames and dark red for at least another half an hour after returning and showering. I've never used so much sunscreen in my life before I'm actually quite a stay-at-home.8 -
So Iam traveling for work and ledt my personal computer at home. I do not have mybTicker factory link on mybworl computer or phone, but did 10.5 miles this morning.
Imagine a ticker here:

5 slow miles this morning. But it was below 80F for the first time in forever. There was significantly less "dripage" Hit 100 miles for the month, which makes for 4 out of the last 5 months now. Hopefully I can steadily increase before marathon training starts in September. Could not have done it without my MFP family. Thanks for being there y'all!!
