I’d think nothing other than he’s trying to be friendly. Thank goodness for emojis. Sometimes there is no way to word things without it possibly coming across as snarky although no attitude is meant in the statement. Since there is no tone via text, emojis come nicely into play.

I agree!. . They are almost imperative. . particularly if you tend be a bit wry and subtly sarcastic. But I still delete them constantly before I hit send. .

dude, just be you. I have a very energizer bunny personality so it fits the way I text.

if u want, we can have an emoji war! I sometimes tell stories using just emojis

That's pretty cool! I think it would take me much longer to track down the appropriate emojis than it would for me to just type the words out.

Can you please go to the voice thread and rap this?

I knew a girl who hated "lol" so I replaced it with "dntts". .for "Do Not Take This Seriously". . For some reason, she was fine with this. .

Donuts? 🍩🍩🍩🍩 My mind automatically converts this. I would get so hungry talking to you. Donuts, yes please!

I just realized that I use the thumbs-up emoji all the time and never think twice about it. . so it's only certain one's that fit into my do-not-overuse category.

I think everyone who uses emojis, has favorites that tend to get unconsciously over used... no worries. :)

Emojis seem playful to me. If I saw an angry emoji or a crying emoji, I tend to not take it as seriously. So if a man messaged me with a few I wouldn’t think too much of them, as long as he was saying weird things alongside them.

He's carrying what looks an awful lot like an StG44 and since there were strict gun control laws in Nazi Germany, it would follow that he is in the military, ergo: Grandpa was a Nazi.

So, let's say a man is just starting a conversation with a woman via text and he suddenly starts dropping smiley faces and "lol"s. .

How does this affect her impression of him?

I dated a guy who loled everything or gave me 👍in texts....we no longer date.

    It ain’t my grandpa!!

If that’s a nazi, my apologies. I don’t want to give that group any publicity.

Not every German soldier was a Nazi. Let's try to back away from the precipice here. . This is a thread about emoji. .

I don't think men over the age of 40 should be carrying on texting conversations. They should limit texting to: "I'm running late I'll be there in a few" or "Remind me again what you wanted at Burger King."

Men over 40 definitely shouldn't be going into Burger King.

I think they prefer to see pics of our wiener.
