Eating Your Exercise Calories:
Songbyrdsweet just explained this in 100 words or less!! I quote from: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/post/new/37590-eating-your-workout-calories?quote=379687Question-
i just joined a few days ago and i've read a few post that you are suppose to eat all the calories you burn off. why is it so important if your trying to loose weight i always thought that if you just burn what you eat and nothing more you will just maintain your weight so i am confused why i should eat every single calorie that i burn?
someone helpAnswer-
MFP builds in a 500 calorie deficit to the calories you start with. You eat your exercise calories to maintain the 500 calorie deficit. This allows you to lose fat safely while still taking in required nutrients and retaining the most muscle mass possible and prevent your metabolism from slowing.

Thanks, adding to my topics! :flowerforyou:
Hey, newer people, just for your info:
~~If you get the link into your "My Topics", it drops out after you make 25 more posts. The "Community" tab has a "SEARCH" box, too, that is another good way to find old posts. If you can remember one key word out of the post you are trying to find, and type in the search box, MFP pulls up all the posts with that word in it. So for instance if you type in "Links," this one will pop up (since it's in the title) along with any other post with the word "links" in it. "Links in MFP" ....might be better for this particular one. ~~
But THIS link is a "Sticky" thread. It is ALWAYS atthe very top of the "General Weight" category, along with some other really important ones for you to read.0 -
