Aww, I love being short. I'm 5'3" and my husband is just over 6'1" and it's a source of great amusement between us. When he gets in the car after I've driven it, he has to adjust the seat and we laugh as the poor electric motor goes "eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, really?, eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee...." for what seems like forever trying to get the seat back and down enough.
But I love being able to hug him with my face right at his chest.
Embrace the short!5 -

This is one of the things I always enjoyed when dating a taller guy. I'm 5'2" myself, and I really don't mind at all.6 -

I'm between 5'3" and 5'4", depending on who's measuring. Being "short" doesn't bother me anymore. What did bother for a while in middle school was that I have been this height since 6th grade. So at one point it looked like I was going to be sort of tall. My Dad is 6'2"-6'3" and mom's a few inches shorter than me so I was hoping to get some of his height but wasn't meant to be 😩😂2
-
I have to admit, it's kind of nice to be able to snuggle in and him rest his chin on my head. Also that he can wrap his arms all the way around me and then some, but that's really nothing to do with height!6

I have always been with women on the petite side. I was a teddy bear type. Now more of a weasel, wanting to become a grizzly without being stuffed again. People ask me do I like skinny gals or curvey gals... I just respond, "yes" lol5

Armpits. I hate standing at armpit height on tubes and busses (5 feet 3) 🙁4

My kids both outgrew me at around 11.5 I'm the shortest in my immediate family. I think I had some great aunts that were tiny; guess I got the short genes (and jeans!)4 -
@psychod787 At least she won't have to worry about wearing heels around you! Mine barely get me above chin-level (But as discussed on page 1, I do not go for the 4-inch heels out of a sense of self-preservation)2

@snowflake954 I wish! I'd just look like this, but still short:12 -

Have to turn into a pretzel to get at the bottom shelves.
Kitchen counters are standardized at the proper height for for people 3-5" shorter than me.
Chairs sometimes have attached neck-roll pillows that hit me right between the shoulder blades.
Airplane seats are hell.
Always in the back in group photos.
Most regular pants are cropped pants - cropped pants are knickerbockers.
Most long sleeves are 3/4 sleeves - 3/4 sleeves land uncomfortably in or just below the elbow.
Tall means big feet: I never wear white shoes, for fear someone will mistake them for boats and want to charter one for a day cruise.
There aren't all that many tall jokes, and most of them are beneath me.

Hey, start your own pity thread!
You make some very valid points. My feet are small and cute, which I like. That attached neck-roll-pillow-thingie, though - all it does is push my head forward and make my neck hurt! Do those things actually work for anyone?7 -

Get a height measurement using one of those laser measuring things (I'm tired and can't find my words, cut me some slack). All my adult life I was just a bit over 5'3" at the doctor's office. In my late 50's my doctor started to use laser measurements, and I was suddenly almost 5'4". Which lasted until last year when I switched doctors, and now I'm back to 5'3". It's very sad.4

But, I can get away with using the top of my refrigerator as a microwave stand, and the top of my microwave as a kitchen shelf...

I'm 5' 6.5". People make fun of me for saying that, but for some reason neither 5'6" nor 5'7" feel right for me to say.1
