Day/Weight/Comment
10/25: 67.3 - Yesterday would have been a very good day, but then my partner took the chocolate bomb pudding (that's a uk definition of pudding) out of the freezer and then that's an extra 414kcals onto the day. However, still 200kcals under burn, so a deficit is a deficit. Did have to edit the main course so that it wasn't a stupid amount over, so I'm fairly happy that I actually ended up under at the end of the day. Honestly, although it was good, I'm not sure it was worth the calories, and it's not going to be something I'm going to have to worry about working into my calorie budget very often. However, it has been a long time since I've eaten a very gooey chocolate pud, so it certainly satisfied an itch.
10/26: 66.8 - Yaaaaaas, broke that 66.x barrier! Genuinely did a little jump this morning as celebration. Not counting my chickens though. I'm expecting the number to go back up into 67s tomorrow tbh. I'm not counting it as a number down untill I get at least three (sometimes two) consecutive days in that number. Yesterday was fine. I'm aware I barely drank anything during the day yesterday which isn't good. But I also felt satisfied with my breakfast and lunch, something that I've been struggling with lately. Made room for KFC and was only just over calories for the day. And although I'm never sure quite how accurate those calories given are, I should be reasonably safe as I, again, didn't eat the burger lid so that'll be saving maybe as much as 100kcals I've not accounted for, so I'm guessing that'll probably balance itself out
10/27: 66.9 - Very difficult day Friday. I had a funeral that was a really tough one. Ate loads at the wake, but then made up for it by ending up not eating dinner. But gosh there was a lot of cake.
10/28: Didn't weigh - I knew this was going to be a big one. So went to my niece's birthday party. A meal out: fish and chips and was surprised how full I felt and so I didn't actually eat it all. Although the fish was enormous and the batter was only okay, so I took a lot of it off and just ate the plain fish. Then back to their house for cake (which was delicious, but nutella icing, omg, so bad, but so good). Then off to my friends for a Halloween party. A bottle of wine and some nibbles later, pretty sure I've under logged.
10/29: 67.7 - Yeeeeaaaah. So I'm not surprised about that. After 3 high calorie days I'm fully expecting my weight to be fluctuating up. Yesterday was also not a very good day on the food. Hangover food day, and bottomless pit of a stomach. Ugh, very hard. However, slightly surprisingly I was actually under my maintenance calories for the day (according to my fitbit, which I've verified and is pretty accurate). My partner bought me 2 custard slices which I ate as breakfast and both are surprisingly less than other breakfast options. Then I ate both a ready meal curry and a full pizza for lunch, but then proceeded to be far too full to be able to eat very much for dinner, so it almost evened itself out. Hopefully that weight will lower down now I'm getting back to the lower calorie options again for today.
10/30: 67.7 - Weighed after breakfast so I'm probably more likely at least 0.5 lower than that, but still. Anyway, much happier with yesterday, ate well and 90 minutes of very hard judo. Quite sore this morning with an interesting selection of bruises and my shoulders achy, but love that feeling of working really hard. On top of that I also made my step target (doesn't always happen on training days as I have to take off my fitbit for training). So all in all and excellent day!
10/31: 67.3 - Finally down, was looking for less than this, but I'll take the drop. A surprisingly good day yesterday, ate only just above calories and that was with what was probably not the best choice of lunch. Stepped well during the day, but didn't keep my exercise up in the evening so didn't hit my daily step goal (frustrating). However, I'm back keeping a sensible deficit and I'm still mildly hopeful I might get to my round goal this round.
11/01: 67.1 - Yesterday was not very good. Someone left cake on the desk next to me and it was looking at me all day. I ate too much cake. And the worst bit was that it wasn't even that nice. The icing was hard and very sweet (actually I left a lot of the icing) and the sponge was good, but the jam and cream filling were also very sweet. However, made up for it somewhat, by sticking with the lower calorie option of a stirfry for dinner (instead of the chips, chips and more chips I really wanted) and have still managed to stay below burn. Only just mind, but I'm not going to knock it. I also got loads of steps in during the work day, and then spent all evening on my bum on the sofa playing games and so still didn't make my target. Oh well. Better today, hoping to get out for a run in the rain after work (I'm one of those insane people who prefer running in the rain)
11/02: 66.9 - That sweet sweet 66.x. Mixed bag yesterday. Was generally okay, but came home from work ravenous. As dinner was going to be super late (partner works shifts, and needed to eat as late as possible), and the prospect of waiting 3 hours for dinner sounded awful, I made myself and sandwich and instantly regretted it. Actually I regretted the large amount of cheese I added to it for some reason (ugh, how much do I love cheese) and then the 3 digestive biscuits I ate afterwards with my tea (I wasn't even hungry anymore, why?!). However, When it came dinner I wasn't very hungry at all (because, duh, I'd already eaten enough calories), so I only had some of the chicken wings and didn't bother with the rest of the meal. Meaning that although I went over calories, it wasn't as awful as it could've been. Also, although I didn't make it out for a run yesterday (it stopped raining), I did go out for a shortish walk with the dog, meaning I did make my step target for the day (yay!). Last weigh in tomorrow, I'm preparing myself for a scale jump as I know that eating today could be potentially awful. Wish me luck!
11/03: 66.9 - I'm happy with that. I have been craving chips all round and yesterday I finally caved and had pie and chips for lunch. Pre logging, I worked out that with the half pizza I was going to be having for dinner, I could maintenance it and have those chips, as long as I didn't have any breakfast. Tough, but I managed and it was completely worth it for chips (yaaaas).5 -

Day/Weight/Comment
🎀10/25 - 178.4 - An early weigh in, but I'm certain this is true. An impromptu day out with a friend threw me off of my normal pattern. Did not drink enough water. Did not drink my electrolytes. Ate POPCORN. I bought some popcorn kernels to pop corn for my husband. WHY did I eat 2 cups of popcorn? I don't even eat corn or grains. So I deserve this temporary gain.
🎀10/26 - 178.8 - Even though my weight dropped to 176.6 , don't forget who I am. Super Spongebarb. Lol. It will come back down. I looked back over the past 2 weeks of my diary and I've had more than a few days eating less protein than I should. Gotta correct that.
🎀 10/27 - 177 - better on carbs and water, protein in target?
🎀10/28 - 178.4 - All macros over settings yesterday. I do not fast Friday through Saturday.
🎀10/29 - 178.2 - Salt water flush today. Drank it an hour ago, nothing yet. ? Lol. My husband went to a friend's house yesterday to watch the football game and brought food home. He sits a plate covered in foil next to me and walks away. I thought it was for him to eat later. I look under the foil, 3 big cookies. I laughed, told him no thanks and put them in a sandwich bag. Smh
🎀10/30 - 176.6 ?
🎀 10/31 - 177.6 - You MUST have a sense of humor when it comes to daily weigh ins. Especially when you've been true to your plan. I'm pretty sure this is because, once again, I did not drink my electrolytes. I will this morning.?
11/1-178.4 - Tired this morning. Retaining some fluid. Ate dinner during my fasting hours. A couple tbsps of peanut butter and my keto seed porridge with 2 additional tablespoons of chia seeds, because I added a little bit too much water to it.
11/2 - 179.4 - This is certainly out of left field, but may be because I've been eating later then usual? I also have been lower on sodium and still am not keeping up with my electrolytes.
11/3 -178.2 - *Whatever you want to do body. If you like it here as a pit stop for a short while to rest and recuperate, okay. I understand. You allowed me to release 78lbs in one year with only one recoup period. Thank you. Just know that I will continue on with my plan and when you're ready, you can catch up. {(Nov. 2nd, 6pm) My eating day was over at the proper time for me, 5:30pm. It was an OMAD day, (ate at 5pm) since I had errands to run. At about 3:30pm (hour 18.5) I felt so hungry! I was in line at a bargain outlet store. The person in front of me had a HUGE container of pretzels. 😛 I got out of line to get one too. I found them, looked at the serving size and carbs per serving, put them back. Still hunting though. Found a small bag of some of those thin pretzel snacks, decided I could eat half the serving and be okay on carbs. Almost back in line, look at the expiration date, EXPIRED! Chucked them and went to the grocery store. I spent a good 15 minutes reading the nutrition facts on at least 10 different packages of pretzels. I am past ridiculous now. SMH. I am hungry, but I realized that what I wanted was SALT. 😱 I went home, ate and was satisfied. Drinking my second dose of electrolytes this evening.}

Round 57: My 1st Round
F/23/5’3’’/SW 59kg
10/25 – 58.7kg Exercised for 30min yesterday and ate healthy breakfast and lunch and ended up eating heavy dinner. I tend to eat more for dinners should try to control this.
10/26 – 58.5kg (-0.2kg) didn’t exercise at all yesterday, finished my dinner early rather than having late night dinners I decided to eat early and I am happy to see the difference. Will try to stick to this plan.
10/27 – 58.3kg (-0.2kg) Spent some time in the morning to exercise. I realized how difficult it is to burn calories and then how easy it is to eat all those calories, so whole day I was very choosy and careful about what I ate. I went out with friends and I said no to Pizzzaaa I can’t believe I did that!! Wow! and the prize for that is what I saw in the morning today a drop of 0.2kg! yay!!
10/28 – 58.3kg no exercise just ate within calorie limit.
10/29 – 58.5g (+0.2kg) reason for this was obviously all the cake, ice-cream and chips that I had yesterday, didn’t exercise…I will consider that to be a cheat day and will be back on track from today.
10/30 – 58.4kg (-0.1kg) Exercised for 15min, ate within calorie limit. Soo close to the end date and still have 500 grams more to lose...I have to start increasing my workout time but after working out for like 10 min I feel exhausted...planning to be on a fruit diet today and see if I feel any difference in weight.
10/31 – 58.3kg (-0.1kg) Yesterday I had one apple and few nuts and survived till evening and then came snacks time and I was so tired and gave up, ended up eating chips and then noodles…well then, I realized that I really messed up my day so I worked out for 30 min doing some core exercises.
11/01 – 58.2kg (-0.1kg) Yesterday I worked out in the morning and also in the evening, I can still feel the pain in my hands and legs…my best workout so far! Yesterday was a successful no junk food day, ate within calories. Two more days to go and 300 grams to see…I do want to see myself in the 57s by the end of this round. Determined to hit the gym for the next 3 days.
11/02 – 58.2 kg Did some core body workouts…didn’t go to gym yesterday so I woke up early today morning and ran on treadmill for 30min.
11/03 - 58.2 kg I couldn’t reach my target for this round but that’s fine…these 10 days have been so good for me and I am very happy I participated in this challenge. I couldn’t lose the 500grms that I lost in this round had I not done this challenge! I am excited and very much ready for the next round. Everyone here has done a wonderful job…see you all in the next round.
Total change in this round : 58.7kg - 58.2kg = 0.5kg

Round 57 SW 195.9 EW: 193.9 (-2lbs)
Other goals: 10,000 steps at least 4 days a week. Strength training 2 times a week. Run 3 times a week. Continue Yoga with Adriene's 30 days of yoga challenge. Eat at a deficit.
Day/Weight/Comment
10/25: 195.7 (17,646 steps). Almost 13k steps at the time of writing this. Will go on a run after dinner. Did an amazing upper body workout. Day 5 of 30 days of yoga. Food isn’t so great today, though i will be under if I count my exercise calories.
10/26: 194.7! (9,455) Feels nice, aside from my right pec and glute being sore. Will have to take an epsom salt bath sometime today. I also had a hell of a time falling asleep. My upper spine really hurt. Hoping to make better food choices today and continue to see a downward trend. I will add steps the next day.
10/27 194.3! Today is homework and studying for my kinesiology midterm on Monday. Will try to get my steps in, but it might be hard.
10/28 194.3. Nice. Another study/homework day, but I’m determined to get all of my steps in today.
10/29 194.3. Midterms. Got 83%.
10/30 194.3. Tried the witches’ brew frappuccino, not strong enough of a flavour, but still nice. I also found the only store in my town that sells passion tango tea (the superstore in the health food aisle) so now I can drink it! I have another midterm on the 7th, and I’m getting stressed lol.
10/31 194.3.Happy Halloween! At least I can say I’ve lost 1.6lbs this challenge lol. Will try to do a lower body workout and get back on track with the 30 days of yoga (Day 6)
11/01 192.8!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Halloween went great, only ate two pieces (one chocolate, one cherry peel and pull!) Didn’t do either of the workouts I said I would do, but that’s okay. I did tabata this morning, and my sister has decided to sabotage me by baking SIX DOZEN chocolate chip cookies. I will try to eat those in moderation, but cookies are my weakness.
11/02 192.8 Nice. Part of this is DOMS, for sure. The other part is lady issues lol. Had quite a large deficit left at the end of the day (I didn’t starve myself, just walked a lot and did tabata)
11/03 193.9 All bloating. Lost 2 lbs this week, so I’m happy with myself. I’ll see you guys tomorrow in round 58!
Total change this round= -2lbs!7 -
Male, 39
6'0"
Highest Weight (10/2016): 293
Start of Round 57 Weight: 186.6
I have lost 106 pounds so far and my goal is to get down to between 10-12% body fat (Currently about 16.1%) and then slowly bulk to gain muscle. These last 10 lbs. or so have really been giving me fits, so I thought I would join this challenge to give me a little extra motivation.
Day/Weight/Comment
10/25 186.6 - Had a pretty good day. Got a late night lift in about midnight last night with 2 miles (1 before, 1
after) on the treadmill. Need to do better on sleep. Averaging about 4 hours per night this week.
10/26 186.6 - Yesterday had an active day. Did a triceps and abs session and then ran a treadmill 5k at an easy
pace (6.5) for just under 29 minutes. Had about 15,000 steps along with the workout, so got to eat
some extra calories yesterday (2239). Deadlifts await today.
10/27 187.4 - Normal fluctuation. Didn't get my workout in because I was gonna go after watching World Series Game 3. 18 innings and 7:20 later...it was 2:30 am here when game ended. So i will try to double up today on my workouts. Also ate calories that go on today's diary last night during game after midnight so that explains the gain.
10/28 189.4 - Played and walked 18 holes of golf for over 15,000 steps. Pigged out at family get together on high carb and high sodium foods. 300+ carbs when I'm usually around 180-200 and 6600+ sodium. So I figured I would be a up a few today. It's normal for me to fluctuate 3-5 lbs based on water weight. So, no worries, back at it today and it should shed over the next few days. After losing 107 lbs, it's good to know my body well enough that I don't freak out over water weight fluctuations like I would have at the beginning.
10/29 188.6 - Pretty good day. Slightly over calories (Mexican food is my weakness). Normally my rest day, but I made up my lifting workout from Friday (Deadlifts, Assisted Pull-Ups, Overhead Press, Bicep Curls and Chest Flys). Also bowled in my Sunday evening bowling league. Hopefully will continue to shed water weight today, and I will have another lifting session today and may try to go play some basketball for cardio tonight if I can get away for long enough.
10/30 187.4 - Played full court basketball for almost 2 hours. Over 14,000 steps total. Food intake was pretty good, had a nice deficit for the day and ended up with 181 grams of protein. Plan on lifting today (Squat Day). See if we can eliminate the remainder of the water weight from last weekend. Checked body fat % and am down to about 15.1%. About 3-5% from goal on BF. Can't wait to bulk so I can up the calories some and intake more food 😁
10/31 - 187.0 - Got a really good lift in (Squats, Bench, Incline Bench, Seated Rows, Triceps). Set a couple of lifting PR's, which was fun. Also shot some baskets in the basketball gym at the Y for about 30 minutes for some cardio. Stayed around 1900 calories for a nice deficit for the day. 144 ounces of water. Waist size was down today to 33.25 inches (started over 50). Cardio day today for me.
11/01 - 187.4 - Didn't get a workout per se as I took my kiddos trick or treating. Got about 3 miles of walking in doing that however and over 11,000 steps on the day. Had a lot of sodium yesterday and feel like I'm retaining some extra water. Lifting today and will try to add abs as well since I normally do them on my cardio days but missed yesterday.
11/02 - 188.4 - Had a pretty good nutritional day and workout yesterday. Deadlifts, Assisted Pull-Ups, Overhead Press, Bicep Curl, Pec Flys, Abs and a good stretch/walk to warm up and finished with a 7:56 mile after lifting. Did pretty good on sodium too, but I didn't get much sleep last night. Need to get my rest starting tonight if at all possible.
11/03 - 189.2 - Got good rest in. Ate sensibly. Was only able to get a 1 mile run in for cardio, ran a 7:29. Too much sodium these last 10 days, still retaining water. My measurements are doing ok, even if the scale didnt do what I would like. On to the next 10!

Round 56 (my round 3) SW 182 FW 182
Round 57 (my round 4) SW 182 GW 179
10/25 182 I just maintained last round but hoping to break down into the 170s for this round! Halloween candy is my weakness but I’m planning a few fasting days to help off set it all.
10/26 181.8 its a start in the right direction! Focus of the day: drinking enough water 💧
10/27 181.2 yay! I went to a yoga class last night. It was more of a meditation with long stretching positions using props like cushions and blocks for support. I think we did only 7 positions for the entire 1.5 hours and it was WONDERFUL. I stretched out some tight muscles, and the best was when we put or legs up in the wall. I think it really helped move my lymph flow. I’m going to make it part of my routine and go twice a week.
10/28 didn’t weigh in. Had a busy and fun day on the 27th that ended with beer🍺 ...and it was unexpected...so therefore unplanned. 😕 so on Sunday the 28th was just as busy but was feeling down from letting myself have beer(s) that I dipped into the Halloween candy. When will I learn?!
10/29 183.4 yep. It’s back up. I’ve decided that the weekends are very very hard for me and the weight shows up Monday and won’t go away until Thursday - just to go up again on Monday. It’s a vicious cycle that I’m now understanding, (thanks to this 10-day challenge! Thank YOU!) and so now I am planning to still give and plan for myself some allowances for the weekend - or else I’ll just give up completely. I have to think of it as a marathon and not a sprint. I’m getting there, friends. It starts with your head and then will show in your body. Hey! I think that’ll be my new mantra! 🙌
10/30 did not weigh in, but I had two workouts and stayed low on calories.
10/31 182 Going down at least. I’m dreading the weigh in tomorrow. Halloween candy and such may have done me in today. I worked out this morning and have a workout planned for tomorrow. It’s a marathon, and my head is in the game!
🎃 Happy Halloween everyone!!! 👻
11/1 183.2 uuugggghhhh....candy 🙄
11/2 182.6 going down. But have a birthday party tonight and tomorrow.
11/3 181.8 whew! But I think I’ll totally crush it in the next round! Just too much temptation around with Halloween and birthday celebrations this time.7 -

10/25 - 192.6 No exercise yesterday. I drove for more than 5 hours, that was enough "exercise" for me. Good news I got a new asthma script. I didn't pick it up because I was too tired. Let's hope this new insurance means I can afford more than just the rescue inhaler. I'm crabby but still staying in calorie goal and plan on walking tonight.
10/26 - 190.9 No exercise again yesterday, but that stinky water weight is gone! I have been very tired the last two nights. MS can sometimes sneak up on me with a little exhaustion when I'm not looking. I hope to be back on track (trails really hahaha) this weekend. A short walk at lunch today (2 miles) and then a long walk either Saturday or Sunday and a 3 miler the other day. Fingers crossed the weather agrees Last round I over estimated my goal, this round I underestimated. My amended goal for Round 57 is 189. I have 8 days to do it.
10/27 - 191.0 Went to the Farmer's Market walked 1.25 miles! Up slightly, nothing to worry about. Stayed within calorie goals but it was an emotional day.
10/28 - 191.6 Stress and sodium are the culprits. I hope I should have walked but got caught up in other things. I did shop a lot so there was walking there but I didn't turn on the app to count distance. Staying within calorie goals but sodium is high again.
10/29 - 192.9 DANG IT. I'm certain it's the stupid sodium. I ate out a lot and while I can stay in calorie goals but restaurants LOVE salt. My walking goals didn't happen. I had originally wanted to walk 50 miles in October but being sick for a week killed that. That pace was 1.61 miles a day - adjusting for a week off I need to hit 38.6. I'm at 33.2. I have to walk 5.4 miles in the next 3 days to hit my goal. Even if I don't hit my weight goal, I feel like I will have accomplished something if I can hit my mileage goal.
10/30 - 191.4 That's more like it. I still need to lose another pound to make the Round goal. I was crazy on 10/26, full of confidence that I would keep that weight off and lose more. Walked 4.15 miles yesterday, that puts me at 37.3 for the month. It was the perfect fall day for walking. I do need to leave a little earlier, it was straight dark by the time I got back to the car. I will make the 38.6 miles. Tonight is weights at the gym night and tomorrow is Halloween.
10/31 - 191.4 At least it's not going up! I am ending October with slightly over 40 miles. I am proud of myself for making a goal, being thwarted by asthma for a week, adjusting my goal for something I couldn't control and instead of being discouraged kept with it. In addition to walking over 2.5 miles at lunch yesterday, I went to the gym to work out on weight machines for over an hour. I stayed under my calorie goal so I had hoped for a drop today but I have 3 days to drop a pound. I haven't bought any Halloween candy yet, so I didn't get into it. I'm going at lunch and hopefully I can just try one of each...
11/1 - 190.1 WOOHOO!!! I was even bad last night. I had 5 - count them 5 mini candy bars. I had decided it's Halloween a little indulgence won't kill me. Wake up this morning and I'm down. The weight loss gods are fickle creatures, sometimes they need a mini-Snickers to appease them. Though I am NOT suggesting anyone do that. It would be nice if I end up at 189 after all. It would be SOOO nice to be in the 180's. I have set a goal of walking 45 miles in November. I cut it back from 50 because I doubt I'll be able to walk outside and I know I won't walk as much on a treadmill. If I do hit 50 it will be BONUS TIME!!!!!!!!
11/2 - 189.6 Let's hope we can keep that up for tomorrow. The best thing I discovered this week is my office has a hot water option on the water "cooler". I can make instant oatmeal for breakfast! This makes breakfast SO much easier and cheaper. Stayed within calorie goals and walked 3.36 miles last night. I have decided to give myself a speed goal for November. I wanted to get under 16 minute miles. When I started a few months ago I was doing 21 or 22 minute miles. Last night was my fastest yet at an average of 16:50 minute miles. One more day people...
11/3 - 190.2 I made it! We’re going to ignore the .2. I had two chicken sausages last night with the sodium that comes with it. I’m happy with this round.7 -

Day/Weight/Comment:
10/25 - 179.2 ….. I will have to make my starting weight my last weigh-in though I'm sure it is up from the travel. I can feel the horrible bloat and the sickness in my stomach. Too many carbs.
10/26 – 181.2….. Well. There it is. Yikes!!!! Glad to be home and back to routine. I have my work cut out for me, but I got this.
10/27 – 178.4….. Whoosh! Thanks Tish for that triple threat drink recipe. I knew I’d have to pull out all the stops. Wow! Nearly 3 pounds lost overnight!
10/28 - 177.0 ….. Whoosh again! Another 1.4 pounds of bloat down after drinking more of the triple threat debloating water yesterday. It’s still not completely gone so I will drink more (and make more) today. I’m down 4.2 pounds in 2 days so it’s helping a lot. I feel SO much BETTER, but I still have a bit of the round pregnant look. It used to look good on me, I would glow with that baby inside. Now, however, no baby and a little ridiculous looking for a 58 year old. So away it is going with the parsley lemon & cucumber water
10/29 - 177.0 ….. Okay, I guess I’m down to the actual travel fat gain and not just water bloat. I continued to sip on the triple threat water today so I wouldn’t waste it in the fridge, however, now the real work starts. A friend is visiting today, so not a lot of opportunity for movement, but I’ve been sticking to my food plan pretty good. Have a great week everyone!
10/30 - 177.2 ….. A little fluctuation. I will be at the hair dresser’s all afternoon doing my unique blend of foil/color. I have started to keep some of the gray in with the dark and light blondes for a more natural and age appropriate look. It’s very subtle, but it’s my way of accepting myself and learning to love myself including all my beautiful maturity! It will take a while for it to actually be all the way down to the ends, but it has been progressing and looking pretty good. I hope everyone has a blessed day. Enjoy and be safe!
10/31 - 177.2 ….. Better than a gain for sure! Excellent day yesterday. Stayed with plan & drank a good amount of water. I also walked 2 miles inside the school due to rain storms here. Thunder and lightening in cold wintery weather was very strange here. I felt very strong in mind and body.
11/01 - 177.6 ….. So, a cupcake and 5 fun-sized candy bars walk into a bar one day…….. Oh my, no joke afterall, but it was fun and delicious. I must learn how to participate in things in a different and better way! Tonight is my usual Thursday night potluck and pool hall outing. More food. Last week I ate according to plan an hour before I left so I would not over-indulge. I’ll try that again today although new recipes and offerings sometimes intrigue me. I am going to stay positive and consider these normal life events and social engagements as an opportunity to practice my lifestyle and weight loss journey. Today the glass will be half full.
11/02 - 177.2 ….. Finally another drop! I ate very very lightly at the potluck but ended slightly over my calorie and carb goal. I have made my weight goal today. I just need to hold it through tomorrow’s weigh-in. Have a great weekend everyone!
11/03 - 177.2 ….. I’ve spent a lot of time on this round at this number. I don’t think it’s a plateau though because most of the time was spent doing the backstroke on restaurant food and traveling. I am just happy that I made my goal by the skin of my teeth. Today was a very good day. I was strong and well-equipped. Congratulations for all the successes and the NSV’s. See you all next round!

Weigh In/Comments:
10/25 - steps 11,000 trying to get 10,000+, my exercise is improving a lot. Plus the weight is starting to come off.
10/26 - 3rd day of exercising , new exercises that I could not do from my surgery, 7 months ago feels so good.
10/27- Rest day/ shopping / Family Birthday
10/28 - I had a rough day, lots of swelling around my eye, I think it is caused because I'm not use to sleeping on that side, it is near where I had surgery. If it is like that tomorrow I will get it checked by our family doctor.
10/29 -Worked on getting my steps back up 10,000+ day 1-complete.
10/30- Great day, still have a lot of swelling but I managed to do the treadmill. Still eating healthy.
10/31-Tried hard to get my steps in, because it was a busy day. But I did it.
11/01-My muscles were really sore but I'm going to keep going. 4th day 10,000+ steps.
11/02 Really busy grand children had a day off school, took them out for lunch, still managed to get my steps in.
11/03- I completed six days of walking 10,000 plus, went grocery shopping all meals are planned for next week.

I’m getting really close to maintenance weight. However, with the holidays coming up, I’d like to drop a few more pounds to give me some breathing room when I inevitably eat and drink too much.

10/25 - 146.5 - I'm happy I didn't have a bump up from yesterday.
10/26 - 146.5 - 3 days at the same weight is very unusual for me. I'm glad I didn't bounce up before the weekend!
10/27 - 147 - Well, here's the bounce. I had half a philly chicken gyro for supper last night and although I ate below maintenance for the day, I'm sure that sandwich had plenty of sodium. No regrets though, it was delicious and we only get carry out food a couple times a month. Back to more healthy eating for the rest of the weekend.
10/28 - 146.5 - We had tilapia and green beans last night and I passed on the mashed potatoes. My husband made no-bake cookies though and I had to have a half cookie. I will probably cave and have another one today, but he only makes them a couple times a year.
10/29 - 146.5 - I had a work conference today and ate out for lunch. I'm sure I'll have another bump up from the sodium. I'm eating out again tomorrow and will try to keep the choices a little healthier. This has been a bumpy week for me with all the extra restaurant food and cookies. I'm glad I'm in this thread, otherwise I may have gone overboard with all the food.
10/30 - 147 - I'm not surprised and tomorrow probably won't be any better. Back to a normal day at work for the next few days and back to the water and healthier food.
10/31 - 147 - Back to the office and better eating, water, and steps today.
11/01 - 147 - My food and steps were good yesterday, more water today.
11/02 - 146.5 - I'm back down just in time for the turkey tacos we'll have tonight. Hopefully, the sodium doesn't mess with my weigh in tomorrow.
11/03 - 146.5 - Neither gain nor loss. I ate closer to maintenance this 10 days and I didn't drink enough water. On to the next.6 -

Day/Weight/Comment
10/25 165.6 Back for a new round! Hoorah! My weight is a little up, but I did what I needed to do, so it’ll come down soon. Yesterday was raining, so Thor and I didn’t get in a walk, but I did a Chalean Extreme workout. I must have done it correctly, because it was hard, as Chalean says it should be. Today, I’ll spend most of the day playing cards with friends (and watching calories).
10/26 165.0 Thor and I got in our 4 miles this morning. I’m amazed at how much his fitness is improving. We have a one acre yard, but he spends a lot of time in the house and only runs when cows, donkeys, or strangers are at the fence or an unwelcome small animal is in his yard. This walk is good for both of us! I have concerts with my gospel group this weekend, one this evening, two tomorrow, and two Sunday. All our songs are choreographed, so we get a little exercise. We carry our own equipment and set up our sound, too. No hikes with Thor this weekend, but four of us in the group are watching what we eat. We will hold each other accountable.
10/27 165.6 Early morning departure for weekend concert engagements. A church fed us lunch, and we had dinner at Dairy Queen. I had two bites of a cake at the church, and, confession time, I had a full sugar Coke at the hotel. I thought I would be able to get a Diet Dr. Pepper or Coke Zero from the vending machine, but no such luck. My Zevia sodas were locked in the bus.
10/28 No scale. Again, I allowed myself two bites of cake and a little piece of watermelon and cantaloupe at the church that provided lunch. No exercise, either day, other than performing and setting up equipment. It was an encouraging, enjoyable weekend of presenting our songs and testimonies in accordance with our theme this year of “Sharing Jesus With Urgency!” Only eleven days before we leave on our 10-day singing tour. That will be a challenge to the dietary goals of the four of us losing weight.
10/29 166.0 A little gain, but I still hope to show a loss this round. Thor and I only walked 3 miles this morning, because the Morton’s Neuroma was hurting my foot. I wore new hiking books and a metatarsal pad, but I suspect the pad needed to be moved further to the right on my foot. I’ll continue to experiment.
10/30 165.4 I sure would like to lose a little more before the end of the round. I’m still up .2 lb from the Round 56 finish. Because of toe pain, Thor and I had to keep our walk at 3 miles again. We stopped to help neighbors helping a local business owner—move tables and chairs and sweep. I early-voted yesterday, so I’m trying to remember why I feel like I need to go into town today.
10/31 164.4 To be sure, I mounted the scale 3 times and got the same reading each time. Whew! I remembered this morning I needed to go to town for a haircut yesterday. Now, I have to wait until tomorrow and hope my favorite hairdresser is working. More exercise is supposed to improve my brain function—I hope it helps. It’s a rainy day, so Thor is disappointed to miss our walk. Meet my sweet Thor, 3-yr-old long-coat German Shepherd.
11/01 164.4 No change, and that’s okay. No walk today, either—it’s strictly a social day with friends. As soon as I get home, I have to study tax law. Have a wonderful November day!
11/02 162.8 Nice surprise! I hope this number holds through Monday for my weekly check-in. I’m posting while I hydrate and wait for the morning to warm up a little before Thor and I take our walk.
11/03 163.6 ☹ The end came so quickly! I had a 2 lb. loss this round, so I'm not too disappointed with this morning's gain. I had to get an early start this morning, after working late on my tax law courses last night. Thor and I got in 4 miles yesterday, and my foot didn’t hurt too bad until I was close to our water break spot where I could put my foot up for a few minutes. This morning, I helped with the community pancake breakfast. I ate eggs and sausage, but no pancakes. After the breakfast, my husband and I went to a 10 a.m. showing of the movie, “Indivisible,” which we highly recommend, before going our separate ways—me to a singing engagement. I ate 2 cups of popcorn at the theater, knowing it will probably cost me on the scale tomorrow. Popcorn is harder to give up than sweets. It’s good I don’t go to a lot of movies.

@tiabirdie56 I LOVE the speech you gave your body! But LOL at the expired pretzels. I pretty much ignore those dates. Just gave a friend a box of “jumbo shell” pasta that “expired” 4 years ago. She said there was nothing wrong with them. How does dry pasta go bad - unless it gets buggy?
@FarmerCarla I love movie theater popcorn — well, all popcorn but haven’t had it in ages because I’m afraid I’ll lose control!
@puddlegoober JOE! WHERE ARE YOU? Don’t make me come after you!!! Join us in Round 58 —

10/25: 171.6 - calories good yesterday, but too high in carbs and not enough water
10/26: 170.0 - calories good yesterday, but no exercise. Happy to see the scale moving anyway.
10/27: —— no weigh-in; traveling. Had a relatively good day yesterday - calories were decent, and strong on vegetables and water. Trying hard to stay on track.
10/28: —— no weigh-in, still traveling. Weekend was good on calories, but too high in fat. Bracing myself for the scale in the morning.
10/29: 169.4 - whew! Back at home, but have lunch and dinner obligations to manage and no opportunity to exercise today. Focus, focus, focus...
10/30: 170.4 - bad calorie and quality day yesterday, but I knew it was coming and as long as it’s just one day that’s ok. Can be better with food today, but exercise will be a challenge.
10/31: — — no weigh in, out of town again. Too much chocolate temptation today - I caved. Calories were fine, but fat wasn’t.
11/01: 170.0 - my first “regular” day in a while. I’ve got two days to hit this goal point and get myself solidly into the 160s. The chocolate binge is still probably working it’s way to the scale so I have to stay on track. I’m ready.
11/02: 170.0 - more chocolate and no exercise yesterday. Today was better overall but a late dinner may hurt the final weigh in tomorrow.

10/25- 184.7- Glad it didn't go up honestly. I did maintenance calories yesterday.
10/26-184.8- Last exam today. Going to be able to focus on weight-loss better these next two weeks. Kinda excited.
10/27- 184.7
10/28- No weigh in.
10/29- 183.7- Let's keep this going. Have been here before. I want to see 182.something. Happy about this though. But I just definitely need to make myself keep going.
10/30- 184.0- I did well yesterday. The thing is I didn't have time this morning and ate breakfast before remembering to weigh myself so this isn't necessarily accurate. Will eat well tonight too so that I get results tomorrow. Really on my grind this time. Going to get to 180 soon. Determined.
10/31- 183.0- Happy Halloween everyone! First time seeing this number. Really want to see 182.something. Maybe tomorrow? I'm going to eat low sodium and nothing heavy so I don't randomly pack on water weight.
11/1- 183.0- had a bit of candy today lol. hopefully it doesn't affect anything tomorrow?
11/2- 182.0- really happy about this. Ony limiting myself to one piece of candy maximum. Not going to get to 180 by tomorrow obviously but I will soon. Certainly by the end of the next challenge I think. I'm very excited!! Not going to ruin the progress. Going to push until I get there. It feels so close yet so far lol.

This is my fourth round. I think the best part of this challenge is that in recording the weight every day with a comment, I talk myself down from the hype that comes with weighing myself every day. Sometimes, anyway. I have to say I still got frustrated with just 0.5 loss last challenge in 10 days. But still, noting that I lost 4 lbs last challenge, I did sort of maintain perspective! Slow and steady wins the race! We can do this!!

10/25 171.5 -- This is so frustrating. Yesterday walked for an hour, hour strength class at YMCA, hour of zumba. Finished day with 1000+ calorie deficit. Weighed in a pound heavier. Everyday I'm hoping for the big whoosh....and instead it's up 1 or 2 lbs and then down 1/2. Oh well. I feel good. I'm not starving. My pants fit.
10/26 168.5 -- I think this might be the real whoosh....although yesterday a couple hours after eating bacon and fathead pizza for lunch I got queasy and just couldn't fathom dinner, so was well under calories. 15000 steps yesterday including a walk and zumba. Also did water aerobics. Hoping this number sticks.
10/27 168 -- So excited to be in a new decade that I forgot to post it yesterday! Queasiness was gone yesterday. Hour walk and water aerobics. Went out to Chinese restaurant for late lunch. Skipped the rice and had spicy chicken and veggie stir fry and pea greens. Then...just cheese sticks and peanuts for dinner because I went with my son (who plays in band) to the football game.
10/28 168.5 -- I'm pleased with this. Got up yesterday, went to zumba, did a moderately fast walk for an hour to collect extra calories. Big egg scramble for lunch and then went to a costume cocktail party with my husband and stuck to the pulled pork & chicken, no bun, and brie and assorted dips on veggies. My husband and I then shared 3 mini cupcake sized desserts. Enjoyed two glasses of red wine. Seems like my choices worked ok!
10/29 168 -- Ate within calories, including guestimate of snacks at Costco. Took a long walk. 12000+ steps.
10/30 169 -- Here we go again. Assuming it's going to bounce up and down before dropping again. Took a hike instead of zumba and a walk. Only burned 250 calories and then went out to lunch. Had to make up for it with the elliptical later. Ended the day with 500 calories surplus, beyond MFP allotment.
10/31 168.5 50 minute walk before the dentist. 500 calorie surplus. 12,000 steps. Trying not to get too excited, as I'm probably going to bounce around!
11/1 168.5 Power walk, strength class and zumba. 21000 steps. I had a huge calorie deficit, (even after two glasses of wine and 1 1/2 funsize chocolates). Glad this number is sticking. It may go down. I felt low on salt yesterday and had broth after 9....which probably did not help the weigh-in!
11/2 167.5 Zumba and yoga. Big deficit. Might have had a second bowl of soup if my son hadn't tripped and dropped it all on the floor!
11/3 169.5 Clearly 10 tortilla chips last night ruined everything! LOL. Probably didn't drink quite enough water. Had a big deficit....so this number won't stick. It will just make next round easier.

R56 (my 3rd) SW 267.0 EW 266.2 (-0.8) - Ended early due to vacation
Late starting this time. I was on vacation and gained 6.4 pounds in 6 days. I thought I did much better than I normally do on cruises and although I expected a gain, I was very disappointed by how large of a gain it was. I've been back for almost a week now and I'm doing better on my eating but haven't gotten back into logging everything and haven't started back to the gym.
Goals this round:
Log food in MFP 4/4 days (only 4 days left this round)
>1200 <1420 calories 3/4 days
Drink 54+oz water 4/4 days
Weight <= 267.2 (>=1.0 lb loss in 4 days
Round 57
10/31: 268.2 (+2.0 since 10/20) Today was the final weigh-in for my work weight-loss challenge. It was based on percentage of body weight lost. I lost 8%. My goal was 10%. I know that 8% is a great loss, but I can't help being disappointed that I didn't make my goal. I've decided to keep that goal weight as my end of the year goal. 9.2 lbs doesn't seem like a lot in nearly 9 weeks time, but actually being at that weight or less will be a challenge considering all of the holidays and I have a 7 day cruise coming up after Thanksgiving. As much as I want to slack off now that the work challenge is over, I must stay controlled! Finished the day at 1203 calories, 64oz water
11/1: DNW. Had a rough time getting going this morning. Brain would not engage and totally forgot to weigh (several other instances of my brain not working too - forgot my phone, turned the wrong direction). I think I'm down because my weight last night was the same as morning weight (yes, I'm a little obsessive and usually end up weighing twice a day but only record the morning weight). Finished the day at 1043 calories, 62oz water
11/2: 264.2 (-4.0) Thrilled to see this! Finished the day at 1297 calories, 61oz water
11/3: 264.0 (-0.2) Finished the day at 1108 calories, did not track water and I know I didn't drink enough. I have a hard time getting my water in on the weekends.3 -

Day/Weight/Comment
10/25 - 145. Excited to be back for another challenge! I've been busy working, eating and then gaining back some weight for the past few rounds. Getting back on track now. I have continued to lift weights and meet step goals, so not all has been lost during the missed rounds. I started with 15 pounds on all of my lifts and a few of them have progressed to over 100 pounds now. It's kind of fun to see those bigger plates on the bar.
10/26 - 144. Nearly 15,000 steps yesterday, plus weight lifting and stayed a touch under my calorie goal. I swear I would have grazed my way around the house last night and doubled my calorie consumption if it wasn't for being back in this challenge. Thank you everyone for being here!
10/27 - 143. Step and calorie goals achieved yesterday. I took measurements this morning and was surprised to see that although I happened to be the exact same weight as I was last time I measured in September, every measurement (except my calves) was smaller. I know this has happened to others, but figured it was a phenomenon reserved for people who exercise a lot more intensely than I do. Seeing those smaller measurements this morning made me so happy!
10/28 - 144. I really thought that I posted this yesterday, I must have forgotten to click "post reply." Restaurant dinner on Saturday night. Ate about half of the portion, but likely still high on calories. Got home from the event at 11 pm and got that exercise in.
10/29 - 143. Lazy day at home, except for the normal weekend errands. Nice to have a weekend with only few activities. Step and calorie goals met. I can't figure out why my fitbit gave me 1000+ activity calories yesterday. It seems way too high for a day where all my activity came from housework and errands.
10/30 - 143, I think. My husband slept in this morning, so I dressed and weighed in the dark. I still hopped on the scale, but it was hard to read! Weight lifting yesterday, along with a short unplanned jog. I went on a walk during one of my son's activities. About halfway through, I realized I wasn't going to make it back to him before his class was over. I couldn't walk any faster and I was looping around a lake (turning back wouldn't have taken any less time), so I jogged about 10 minutes of what was intended to be a 45 minute walk and made back to the starting point even a little early. I ended up snacking in a very major way late last night, so it was an unimpressive end to an otherwise disciplined day.
10/31 - 144. Not surprising given the late night snacking 2 nights ago. Happy Halloween!
11/01 - 143. Back to this number. Right where I was 50 days ago, but also better than yesterday.
11/02 - 143.
11/03 - Out of town
Finishing this one out at 143. On to the next!4 -
