Success/Struggles: I've got a bad cold and no appetite. I got my weight back up to the middle of my maintenance range, though, so that's a plus, and the cold is winding down. I'm looking forward to Thanksgiving next week!6 -

Success: I dropped four pounds but I’m skeptical. Recovery from surgery. I survived my first EVER stay in a hospital at age 70.
Challenges: Going home Tuesday 11/20. Limited motion and I’m going to have some pumpkin pie!9 -

After the holidays I'm thinking about going back into weight loss mode until I reach 115. I would like my range to be between 115 and 125. Reason for the change is because I'm two inches shorter than I was 2 years ago and that changed my BMI numbers.4 -

Thanks @Orphia I think my problem is that whatever the reason I wake up, my mind immediately starts thinking about what I have to do the next day. I workout really early in the mornings too so sometimes I decide I might as well just get up and have a bit of extra quiet time before the workout. But I’m going to work on going straight back to bed instead. Managed an extra hour last night so hopefully a good start!1 -

Decided to start counting calories again lol. I haven't been logging in several months because it's annoying but I would really like to lose another 5-10 lbs so I guess I'm not really maintaining. Going home today. I see you are same age as oldest son. We usually have Thanksgiving where my DIL prepares a fabulous dinner and desserts. This year we’re staying home and DW found a small pie
My wife was 5’2” now at or under 5’

In late September, I started a strength training regime with a Personal Trainer. While my dietary intake has not changed, my weight is changing because I'm building muscle. I'm feeling the best I've felt in a long time and plan to continue!

Has anyone had their weight just randomly start getting really erratic? My weight used to stay pretty steady +/- a couple lbs but here lately it's been fluctuating quite a lot. Like some days it'll be as low as 151 and others as high as 157. Doesn't have anything to do with my monthly cycle as far as I can tell.
I started keeping an excel log of my calories in, out, net , and my weight, trend weight, total lbs lost, and day of cycle. I'm such a nerd.3 -

Success/Struggles: I upped my calories a little, also had 2 occasions where I woke up in the morning and realized I'd forgotten to eat something I had planned/pre-logged So I'm trying to pay attention to that. I realize I should increase my calories even more than the modest amount that I did but with Thanksgiving tomorrow I figured I'd wait until next week to bump them up the rest of my planned increase6 -
I'm trying to have a focused November so I can feel better about a few relaxed higher calorie day in December guilt-free.
Learning in maintenance that weight can go up a bit if I'm prepared make the adjustments to go down.
I had higher calories in October due to the end of marathon training carb-loading and post-marathon runger.
Now I'm doing a little tweaking to come back to the middle of my goal weight range.

A good week. Been maintaining a 1,000 kilojoule deficit for over 3 weeks now, and the weight is going down appropriately (0.25 kg a week). Nice validation of my good logging and calorie burn calculations, too!

My tweaking loss was artificially slowed a little this week due to water weight gains for a few days caused by DOMS from a hard run on Wednesday. Scale jumped 1 kg the day after.

Struggles/successes: Weight on track. Keeping up the workouts and getting slightly better sleep. Work has been tough and not managing to get to my usual yoga classes much but going to work on that next week. It’s my 40th on 3rd Dec and would love to go into a new decade feeling fit and active. Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: I feel like I did well this week. My son was home for the holiday and there was more eating out and just plain eating. Then Thanksgiving on Thursday and I ate a lot of pie plus birthday cake for my son's birthday and all of the holiday goodies. But I went into the week a little under my maintenance range so I had plenty of room. And I managed to get some good runs in this week and some nice yoga too. My weight went up quite a bit over the week, but it is already coming back down. And actually it is really where I want it to be. It had dipped a little lower than I wanted it to be so if it stays right around 118 then I will be happy.5 -

weight is up due to it being almost that time of the month.
I've been successfully logging my calories for over a week now, even all thanksgiving break (and I ate thanksgiving leftovers ALLLLL weekend). I ended up with a 186 calorie deficit over the entire week so I did pretty darn good for eating all that thanksgiving goodness and 3 different types of desserts for four days straight
I've been complaining about how much calorie counting sucks for the last several months but now that I'm doing it again I've realized it really isn't too terrible. When things get too tedious, I'm ok with just doing a very lazy style of logging. I didn't weigh and measure my food at all, except for things like peanut butter. On everything else I just guestimated. Which is good enough for me.
