I just can't stand that filling in an original Oreo. Reminds me of toothpaste.
I've been known to pull the filling out of an Oreo and eat just the cookie.4 -

I'm so-so on the original Oreo cookies. I would much rather have the lemon, mint, or brownie batter ones.1 -

Thank you! Yes: De-minted dollar store toothpaste, as I said in my own "Oreo nonfood" post.

So people come to a "What are some of your unpopular opinions about food?" discussion, see unpopular opinions about food, and then Woo the unpopular opinions. Lol, this is really confusing people18

I've totally done that. In fact, if I buy a package of oreos and don't like the taste (the cotton candy flavor comes to mind), I'll just go through the whole package, throw out the icky filling part, and eat a couple of the wafers each day.1 -

I can take or leave an original Oreo. Now the Golden Oreos... yum!2 -

I share this unpopular opinion with you. For some reason when the phrase "food is fuel" is spoken some people think that means I don't like food, don't care what I eat and/or force myself to eat unappetizing things. NOT true. The complete opposite, in fact. I love food and will only eat things I truly enjoy.
To me, the phrase means to pay attention to the quality of your "fuel" rather than assign emotions to it. I pay attention to the type of fuel I put in my truck the same way I monitor the quality and quantity of fuel for my body.11 -

I don't like the original ones, but the Golden ones are so good.
I also really love the new pistachio cream thin Oreos.2 -

We have sweetened almond milk in the fridge all the time because one of the kids has lactose intolerance. I used it on cereal once when we were out of regular milk (which is 2% in our house) and I discovered I liked it better. I have it on cereal and I mix it with Ovaltine, which I also found I like by experimentation. For all other uses, I use regular dairy milk.
I'm not a huge milk fan in general. I really only drank milk as a kid since it was offered for dinner, but it was never my favorite. I generally prefer cereal dry as a snack, but if I was eating it as a meal I would just use either Fat Free milk (90 calories) or use Almond Milk/Cashew since I prefer to use most of my calories on actual food & not drinks.1 -
CarvedTones wrote: »jseams1234 wrote: »Nutter Butter > Oreo
Vienna Fingers are better than either, at least for a couple of days. I can't stand having any of the mass produced sandwich cookies too many times in a row without switching off. Both the other two are in the mix and would get eaten.
That's why I wish Oreo would release a variety pack of their limited edition Oreos. Usually by the time I am done with the pack the Oreos are either stale or I'm trying to pawn them off on nieces & nephews or coworkers. The only Oreos I don't get sick of eating are the White Fudge Oreos & if they ever re-released The Cotton Candy Oreos that flavor too.0 -

I like the golden oreos, but I think they are just OK imitations of Keebler Vienna Fingers.0 -

Protein bars are just glorified, overpriced candy bars with no real nutritional value.
Except for, uh, the protein.
*siiiiiigh* 🙄 I’m aware of that. I guess I shouldn’t have added my sentence. I meant that they’re touted as “healthy” because of their protein content, but a lot of them contain the same amount of sugar and calories as a regular sized snickers bar. I rather just eat a snickers tbh.
Boyyyyyyyy do I have a thread for you. I don't have a handy link (I really should have favorited it) but someone decided to eat one of those humongous snickers bars that come out this time of year and that was it for the day. He ended up eating like 9 normal sized bars as an equivalent and reported on satiety and workout performance.
Best thread ever.
But, yeah, I don't eat that many protein bars anymore mostly because of the higher fiber and they can be considered candy barish but I'm also someone who finds some kind of nutritional value in everything. Hell, even potato chips have considerable potassium.bootyrubsandtacos wrote: »bootyrubsandtacos wrote: »Processed food is not the devil.

Food can never be too spicy 🌶
Cayenne pepper, chilies 🌶, habaneros, Tabasco- when in doubt- add another shake!
I typically choose the nuclear option. ☢️7 -
Lays salt and vinegar chips are not good at all. I am a huge fan of salt n vinegar chips, but hate lays. I like my chips with a nice caking of flavoring. I dislike lays chips in general because they always leave me with an oily taste in my mouth.
All my friends and family members seem to think lays salt n vinegar are the best. 🤨0 -
Aubergine, courgette and goats cheese should all be banished to a big black hole, never to be seen or heard of again.2

Not being snarky here, but I totally admit when I hear or read people talking about having a "food is fuel" mindset, I don't imagine that they enjoy food often if ever. I imagine they always say no to sugar, white foods, etc. I imagine they eat unseasoned chicken breasts, green vegetables, plain oatmeal or beans, and so on, with maybe a protein shake here & there.
The subsequent comments make more sense to me though, absolutely.

Are you talking about the actual "real" sweet potato from the produce department properly cooked? The canned orange sludge (which I admit to eating) is a completely different thing IMO.3 -

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. I also think "food is fuel." I eat the stuff I like, but I also say no to things because I don't need to eat just to eat. Similarly, I don't put gas in my car just to put gas in it. And I'd never overfill the tank so it's bursting. Even though my car should only get premium, sometimes I put in unleaded because it's cheaper and I'm not interested in spending 4.50 a gallon. Same with food - I eat high quality and lower quality stuff, some more nutritious than others. It's all food, some of it just makes me feel and move better than others. Even though I eat because I need to function, I still eat the stuff I find tasty and I do look forward to eating out and trying new stuff because if I'd have to eat anyways, may as well have it be something yummy.5 -
I don't like tea or coffee, it's too bitter! I'm trying to get used to drinking unsweetened tea, but it's gonna take time. Although when I went to h mart recently and a woman at a dumpling shop happily gave everyone who ordered something a cup of green tea I had an easier time making myself drink most of it because of how sweet I thought that was!0

I hate eggs Benedict. Runny egg yolks mixed with that icky hollandaise sauce makes me gag.1
