Bacon's okay; I can take it or leave it, actually. Though I have a favorite story from a New Yorker article on perfume manufacturers and scent seekers: at the end of the article, the writer asked if there was an absolutely irresistible fragrance. Yes, said the manufacturer. Bacon.

In general, I don't like pork, including sausages. I do like beef hot dogs, but really only Hebrew National, and for me to really like it, let it be grilled or broiled - dry heat, not wet, for me.

For me it definitely depends on how the bacon is prepared... as for hot dogs, not really a fan. I do love a good bratwurst though

Hot dogs are great IF they are the right ones. Must be all-beef kosher. Not those weird pink oscar-Mayer things.

I grew up with Vienna Beef, but Best's Kosher is good too.
If I'm cooking at home, I prefer brats...can't remember last time I had hot dogs at home.
If I'm at a hot dog stand/baseball game/picnic it will always be a hot dog.
For some reason, the setting matters to me. :D

I totally get that. I'm the same -- I'll have a hot dog (if Vienna beef) at a ball game or (sometimes) cookout, although I might well get a brat instead (I usually have a brat during our 4th of July cookout, if not burgers). Outside of those specific settings I almost never have hot dogs, and never at home.

I'll take corn bread pretty much any way I can take it. Both variations look cool to me!

The first variation would need plenty of honey butter :)

"vegetable" oils are used in excess and are not healthy in the slightest.

    @NovusDies

I almost wet my pants I laughed so hard!

Southern sweet tea is syrup! 2 cups of sugar cooked into a simple syrup per gallon. Sometimes I use only 1-1/2 cups if it’s for someone other than my family! What other kind of tea is there?

I'll eat turkey bacon. I don't delude myself that it's bacon, but it's not bad.

As long as I get dibs on the Humboldt Fog (at least until I eat myself silly on the stuff), you've got a deal.

And while I'm thinking about it: Someone(s) else can eat pretty much the entire world's supply of Ranch Dressing. I might dip something in it once in a rare time, but it really isn't very good IMO, and I can definitely live without it forever.

Humboldt Fog is my FAVE. so that will be hard to negotiate...

As for ranch dressing: I can only tolerate homemade!

In my world, mushrooms or spinach in an enchilada are an abomination. I like enchiladas. I like spinach. I like mushrooms. I'm even vegetarian. But major no to spinach or mushroom enchiladas. Ick.

    Over cooked meat.

Under cooked baked goods. Been eating undercooked cooked cookies and brownies all my life and haven’t gotten salmonella yet.

Ooh. I discovered Quaker rice crisps, sour cream and onion flavor, apple cinnamon, and caramel. Tiny, textured, and, yes, with flavor. It's a nice little break-time treat.

I don't know about elsewhere, but I've seen it quite commonly on menus of Mexican restaurants as part of their vegetarian or vegan options, in more than one part of the US.

Oddly, I did have huitlacoche (a.k.a. corn smut) in a Mexican dish on one occasion, and that was fine. It's a fungus, but has a somewhat different flavor profile than normal mushrooms.

Huitlachoche, BTW, is something that had sounded pretty yucky to me beforehand, having seen it growing on garden corn in my youth. It ain't pretty, at least per my definition. But I made myself order it, despite trepidation, because I like to try things. It was actually pretty good. I'd eat it again.

On corn, it looks like this:

I live for the apple cinnamon rice crisps but also just discovered Pirate's Booty (or the Trader Joe's version...WHEN THE LINE IS SHORT ENOUGH TO GET IN BECAUSE I HAVE NO PATIENCE FOR WAITING IN LINES). (Yes, I feel very strongly about waiting in lines. And don't get me started on Menchie's last night. :))
