I am a 50 year old 5'5" woman. I am trying to get healthier to avoid diabetes and all of the problems that come from being overweight.
I have found this challenge to be both rewarding and frustrating! Looking at my weight daily has been a real eye opener to see all of the fluctuations and how a high carb day will affect me and the loss for 2-3 days after. On the other hand when I look at the big picture and the averages it has been a consistent loss except for two rounds. Round 53 was my 50 birthday celebrations that upped my weight for a few days.
I need to step up my game if I want to meet any of my goals.

11/14 143.9 ~ (Steps 22,368) ~ Well yesterday started out fantastic only ending going to the ER last night. I decide to buy, cucumbers, grapefruit, limes, lemons to make a refreshing water drink. While I was slicing the veggies, my hand slipped, two of my fingers, the top layer hit the blade. I’m thankful it could of definitely been worse. Unfortunately it was my left hand so my activity is limited for a couple weeks.

11/14 - 185.4 - Busy day. Did pretty well on food intake. Lifted early in the morning to make up for Monday's lift that I missed and then played over 2 hours of full court basketball last night. Over 22,000 steps total on the day. We will see if I can continue to decrease from this weight over the next 10 days.

11/14 - Wednesday - 177.6 - I still find myself typing 19X when going to record my weight. My brain cannot fathom that I'm in the 170's! I had a crackpot goal to be 175 before thanksgiving but that seems pretty extreme given its a week away and the end of this round is a day after thanksgiving - yikes! Okay, considering that I think I'll actually aim to maintain this round. Finding a balance between enjoying my favorite holiday guilt free and not binging for the entire weekend. Fortunately, we are going out this year, so I wont be totally tempted by all the leftovers - but we will probably cook a bird and make some soup over the weekend. I'm committing NOW to next round as to not let myself slip into holiday regression. Last night I overindulged a bit so scale may be up a bit tomorrow. Desperately need to go to the grocery store and stock up on healthy options again. Been basically cleaning out the cupboards for the past week!

@quiltingjaine, Yes. I know it's the salt I crave and just a couple of pretzels would satisfy me ordinarily. But the pretzel binge was stress. They were too salty and burning my mouth, yet I kept on munching.😣 I feel calmer now and the pretzels are GONE thank goodness.
@GrandmaJackie, Omygosh, Jackie! So sorry to read of your injury! Your fingertips will be hella sore for a few days, but should heal quickly. {{{hugs}}} I have those types of mishaps too frequently.
@Kres567, Quite a few us on this challenge, some rounds back, including myself, struggled to get out of the 200's. It seems like those 2's don't want to let go. We did finally say goodbye to them though through perseverance. Keep doing the right things for yourself ❤6 -

11/13 - 157.0 Was under calories yesterday, drank lots of water, and did all my steps. I knew most of it would come off, but I've never dropped that much overnight. Hopefully the rest will be off by Thursday and I can start again. Lol, so my overall for this round 58 - up 2 pounds. On to the next one, hopefully I will get under 155!
11/14 - 155.5 Yeah! It mostly was salt and carbs from vacation. Back down to my pre-vacation weight, I am actually down an ounce from the day I left on vacation. Back on track. Had sweet potato fries baked in the oven, baked chicken, and a little bit of mac and cheese last night for dinner. Drank tons of water and back tracking. Hopefully by Friday I will make my goal of 154 this week.

@SheilaBoneham, No Sheila, you are not alone in wanting warm, soothing and comforting foods when the temps drop. I started craving soup in September when I developed a sore throat and cough that lasted 2 weeks. During the fall and winter months, I need a nice hot flavorful soup at least once a week!
@denswrex, I hope for calmness for you during Thanksgiving week. Considering the number of your invited guests, you need that calmness beginning yesterday. Amazing what we put ourselves through for tradition.

Last round I spent wobbling between 160’s and high 161’s. I haven’t gone way overboard but my occasional “treat” seems to have become an everyday or even twice a day thing which would be ok for maintenance but is sabotaging any loss. So my goal this round is to dial that back and absolutely no LNS even if it is low calorie. 11/14 – 161.2 – Still here. Resisted ice cream last night but 3 corn thins before bed. Why did I need that? I had a good supper with lots of protein. The excuse in my head is always that “I can’t sleep well if I’m hungry.” The truth is that it is a lifetime habit - that I can break. Of course my stomach is hungry at night if I feed it almost every night!

I was going well until last month, I gave up and gained 2.5 kgs (about 5.5 lbs), so I really afraid of myself. Because when I don't control what I eat I easily gain weight. And these days I cannot let myself from junk food.

I think i'll switch to posting in the evenings since that is when I'm less busy and at mostly home - with different time zones it doesn't matter, but means that i'll reflect on the day.
So yesterday, I have no idea where i ended with my calories, went for Korean BBQ dinner with some new people.
Today started well with a short 1km run, which went much better than my first attempt last week, then I also completed my exercise routine. I took my breakfast to the office to eat there and make it later, but still ended up super hungry most of the day - maybe because my body expected winter to come and is really confused by the heat. I cooked a healthy dinner, but then had some chocolate and popcorn... oops. But turned out necessary energy to scare off a massive cockroach and kill a medium sized spider.

If I work hard now, I will leave the “Obese” BMI soon, so I am pushing for consistency, I want to see a more consistent downward trend this round. I am hoping for good things this month!
This is a long term thing, a few bad days or weeks is something I'm getting better at coping with.

This is my sixth round. I am starting not to freak out as much over the daily fluctuations. Went up a little bit at the end of last round, so 2.5 isn't too unreasonable. On the other hand, I've been pushing a 1000 calorie deficit for 2.5 weeks now and I think I'm going to have a slightly smaller deficit this round.

11/4 166.5 -- Phew. I was super hungry and craving sweets and honestly everything yesterday. Kept trying to have a healthy filling something and it was all subtraction stew. Jogged in place at 10 pm to finish my steps and cover my extra snacking, so still had a big deficit. Glad to see that my indulgence in a scone did not move the scale the wrong way!!
