During December I just want to make it out of the month alive and without too much damage. I have slowly inched myself into the 180’s. I want to get back into the 170’s and maintain (at the very minimum). I want to increase my exercising now that my livingroom renovation is complete. I want to get all my steps in and incorporate more & more of the great ideas you all have shared. My personal goals are the greatest presents that I can give to myself during this most Holy month of celebrations. This is my way of saying Merry Christmas to me. 12/24 - 183.3 - I enjoyed my GS’s 2nd birthday yesterday. I ate out of plan with too many carbs but was reasonable. It is not hard to find yourself over 20 net carbs! I have a Christmas Party with friends tonight. I don't hold out much hope for this round either, so many food events to come! . But I do persist. Everyday (no matter what is on the agenda) is another day to make a small change or a good choice even if the day holds an event. I can certainly choose wisely even if it's only one of the meals on the day of a gathering. One meal out of plan on an event day should NOT sink my ship. Extra movement on an event day goes a long way too. I persist....I persist....I persist.....

12/25 - 183.2 Christmas party with friends last night. Tonight is my main present opening & goodie even with me adult kids and grandkids.
12/26 - 184.1 . Main Christmas gathering with my adult kids & grandchildren yesterday evening. . Food, Food, Food last night. A touch of alcohol too. I swear I heard the scale scream at me today!
12/27 - 184.5 Went out of town yesterday. Did much better with my choices until I got home to the Christmas cookies! I have boxed up most of them and are delivering some tomorrow to my kids. Roads are too slick today. My cravings have been out of control. My stomach actually growling again like it used to. That is what happens when I go off plan & eat too many carbs-I truly spin out of control. This is why it has to be a lifestyle, not a short-term solution to a long-term problem. I’ve done this to myself and will have to pay my dues. I have been inspired by SO MANY OF YOU and I am ready for January, come Heck or High Water.

12/30 - Our main dinner is today with Ham & all the fixings. Huge food day in my family but I am making plans to minimize the damage. 12/24 – no weigh in. Holidays are not fun and food is so tempting

12/25🎄🎅🤶 – 146 yikes!! The Holidays are kicking my butt!!

12/26 – no weigh in. Trying to stay the path but one more dinner tonight might not be helpful.

12/27 – 147.6 😥😥😥 I didn't log for the whole holiday (since the 22nd to be exact) and pretty much ate whatever I wanted. Exercise has consisted of walking alone. But I am also not worried, I am finally back and looking to at least loose whatever holiday weight I have gained and getting back into it for the new year. It shouldn't be too difficult to drop whatever weight I put on over the holidays but at the same time I wouldn't be surprised if I still ended with a 1 or 2 pound gain. I enjoyed myself and as long as this spiral didn't continue I will be happy. On a plus note though, I still look amazing!!! Was so shocked to see myself in certain clothing..I felt good and my hubby noticed also..so once again I am happy. Today I started logging again.

I am so impressed with those of you who maintained or lost during the holidays...even those of you who did gain a pound or so are still inspiring to me.

I personally gained 5 pounds 😣😣(apparently 1 for each day) I don't regret anything but I know I will need to get back into a routine to get myself back to normal. 😥😥😥 I didn't even overkill on sweets, just enjoyed the "real" food, so it's still a little confusing for me buuut I need to accept it (and apart of me does) and move forward.

Frustrating couple of days with some things. I just don't feel right. I think the calories are too low again. I am spacey and have no energy! I was trying to ride this out to see if I could adjust and nope. I have a few options to try and get this right. I need to also drink water early and bought lemons today . I have to find a balance because I want to accomplish this and maintain in 2019. I find I am getting out of bed because I am too hungry to sleep, even. New plan coming tomorrow and will be posted.

12/24 150.6 (-0.4 from yesterday, -0.4 from round start) Ah, giving myself a little tiny drop to start off. I won't be weighing about food for the next couple days, and I have a dinner out with friends on the 29th and on the 1st, and NYE is generally spent "grazing" snacky things. So I know going into this that this round is almost certainly ending in a gain, and I'm okay with that. A pound or two up won't derail my overall progress and I'm alright with there being some "food traditions" that we stick to.

12/25 150.4 (-0.2 from yesterday, -0.6 from round start) I'm sure it'll be up tomorrow. I'm thoroughly enjoying my stocking goodies, and just lounging around enjoying my gifts - and enjoying watching my people enjoy their gifts.

12/26 149.8 (-0.6 from yesterday, -1.2 from round start) I have no idea how there was a loss, lol, but I'll take it. Hope everyone had a happy holiday!

12/27 149.8 (-0.0 from yesterday, -1.2 from round start) My best guess is that eating out is mainly what trips me up the most. These past several days have been including treats, no weighing of food or logging anything, and I've somehow managed to go down. The round before I had a swing up.. but we also did a lot of eating out as our holiday prep had us busy-busy. Eating at home, I can at least dish up my own food or put leftover aside and not feel subconscious pressure to finish it all. Plus we don't have a fryer, so there's that. LOL Two meals out expected for this round - one on the 29th, one on the 1st. We'll see how things go.

12/26 - 242.8...considering all I ate yesterday I'm very happy with that...dinner was super yummy and I stuffed myself on it! I got a Fitbit for Christmas and I'm pretty excited. I had a cheap knock off before that worked okay but didn't have heartrate. So far the Fitbit seems to give me few more steps than my other one though.
12/27 - 244.8..I ate a lot of leftovers yesterday and chocolate and popcorn. And I don't think I drank any water 😐 I'm going out of town tomorrow until Sunday evening and I won't be tracking. We have a girls drinks night planned which will involve snacks, and a couple of family dinners to go to. Back on track starting Monday.

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieve permanent change.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.

• Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
• A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
• Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
• The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
• Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
• The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
• When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
• Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

Stick with the process. It DOES work! But it does take time, effort, and most of all, patience!

12/27 - 190.6 on my way again. Gotta stay strong.

12/28 - 189.6 It is so good to be back in the 180s again. Very physical day at work so that kept me on point but a little trouble when I got home with random snacking. Gotta work on that!

I did not weigh today on purpose. Last two days still up from holiday and yesterday I did not get enough protein and fell at the end of the day. I am excited to be starting on an official new plan tomorrow. I have researched this plan for years and feel confident about it. I have been inching my way towards following it and didn't realize it! Today I am following an increased calorie plan until I buy what I need at the store. I am very excited and feel more hopeful.
