@salleewins, sorry you had a tough time at the gym. I’ve had a membership for almost 4 years, I’ve tried a couple times to get a trainer but just couldn’t find one I felt comfortable with. Sometimes I just throw on some 🎧 and walk on the treadmill.
About a year ago I started going to some classes, that being said sometimes I just need a way to release stress. Take one day at a time, btw, go go go go....... 👍🏼😁👍🏼
@eminater, welcome back honey! Time to refocus my friend. You can do this.3 -
@GrandmaJackie thank you! Sorry there isn't a trainer suitable there for you. I love going for the stress to the gym. Now on Wednesdays, after an 11 hour shift (used to be Sundays), the gym is open if I need them! I need to get that music going again!2

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieve permanent change.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

Heaviest Weight: 213
Recent Start Weight: 193 (January 2017)
I’ve been in maintenance for several months until the holidays, content at around 146. I am now OVER the point at which I didn’t want to be again (150), so I’ll be getting back on track to lose back down to at least around 146 or so. May try to go lower in the new year, but we will see. For the immediate future, I just want to get and stay back under 150.
Goal for round 63= 149.x
Day/Weight/Comment
12/24= 150.8 Still a couple more celebrations to survive, then back on track.
12/25= 153 Christmas meals and treats. Going to drink lots of water today.
12/26= 153.4 There you have it. My Christmas high. I’m owning it, realizing there’s lots of work to do in the coming days to not only lose the weight but make it past the sugar/carb cravings that will have increased due to these indulgent last however many days. Good luck in “recovery” friends.
12/27= 151.4 It felt really good yesterday to eat healthy again! Got in a bike ride and a walk on the beach, too. Bought an adorable pair of exercise leggings that I will be a walking in today! :-) (Why does something so silly make me feel good?) LOL
12/28= 152.6 Ate healthy again all day (cooked at home too), but did a lot of exercise, so maybe this is water weight from muscle fatigue. That’s what I’m hoping anyway.
12/29= 152.6 I must admit I’m discouraged by this. I’ve really upped the exercise levels since 12/26 with little positive effect. I’m eating healthy too and staying under my calorie goal (although not by much). I hope I’ll have a swoosh soon. :-(

12/24 – 135 - 1674
I confess, I've gone crazier with baked goods this Christmas than I have since I started this journey 4 years ago. And that's ok, and I'll let myself eat today and tomorrow. But then I'm getting back on track with another elimination diet round. Although I didn't think the elimination diet I followed last fall made much difference, my pain has increased since I started this food free-for-all for the holidays, and that tells me that food is a factor. I'm considering the past month a reset. Not to re-lose the extra 5 pounds and get healthy. But merry Christmas Eve, those who celebrate, and happy everything to everyone else!
12/25 – 135 - 1717
Merry Christmas to those who celebrate the holiday, and may the spirit of this season of holidays touch us all.
12/26 – 135 - 1791
Happy Boxing Day! Also "get closer to on track" day for me. It won't be perfect as we're going out to lunch and I do plan to have one more piece of the mince pie I baked and maybe a piece or two of brown-sugar fudge, but my big fat sugar fest (very unusual for me, even at holidays - don't know what got into me this year!) is over. Also heading for the Y this morning for a walk and I have a session tomorrow with a trainer to work out a work out that won't hurt my inflamed joints. I hope everyone had a lovely day yesterday, whether celebrating Christmas or just life.
12/27 – 136 - 1824
Yikes! Some is water since we went to Bob Evans for lunch yesterday, but still, YIKES! I'm awake now, cutting the desserts, and planning to re-start the anti-inflammatory routine this weekend. My new goal for 2019 is 125 pounds - so a pound a month will do it. I've set up 3 coaching appointments at the Y to create some outside accountability and am ordering some cold-weather hiking clothes so I can comfortably get my butt outside, cold or not. (8 years living on the southern NC coast has made me a cold weather weenie!) Onward!
12/28 – 136 - 1892
I had an orientation session at the Y yesterday so I have no more excuse not to get back to weight training, and my fist coaching session is next week. I felt really good yesterday afternoon and evening after even the short session + short time on stationary bike, so I'm looking forward to getting back at it! And I'm going to make a supreme effort to get my butt out of bed early to swim laps when the pool is vewy, vewy quiet, if my shoulder pain allows. Now to cut back on calories, but that shouldn't be hard since all the goodies are gone now but for one small piece of mince pie with my name on it. Back to fish and veggies and fruit and whole grains.... I find it important to start my re-starts before Jan. 1 so I'm already rolling. Anyone else feel that way? (Recognizing that most of you didn't go quite so crazy this round and last!)
12/29 – 136.2 - 1919
My calories were lower yesterday, but based on my excessive 10-day average cals, the weight gain makes sense and I'm ok with this. All the goodies are gone now, and I've been sticking to my gym plan - yesterday I walked the track and did 30 min on the bike. Plan to do the same today + weights. And stick to my food plan!

Round 63 - my 6th round
Female - 58 - 5'7"
OSW: 271.8 (Oct 9/18)
UGW: 165.0 or lower
End R58: 261.2 (-2.2)
End R59: 258.8 (-2.4)
End R60: 256.6 (-2.2)
End R61: 252.0 (-4.6)
End R62: 254.8 (+2.8)
Goal for this round is to maintain. If I lose, it'll be a Christmas miracle.
12/23 - 254.8 - End weight of R62. Start weight for R63.
12/24 - 255.6
12/25 - 255.6 - I weighed in 2 hours earlier than I did yesterday morning. I finally had a decent day of eating yesterday and stayed within my new 1650 calorie limit. MERRY CHRISTMAS! HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
12/26 - 255.6 - This is a definite win for me. I ate at maintenance yesterday but had a lot of sodium. I'm doing so much better this year than last even though I'm up from my lowest of 252 in R61. Other years, it's nothing for me to pack on 10 pounds during the holidays and stay that way or go even higher and of course, give up trying altogether. This time it will be different.
12/27 - 254.2 - There's my Christmas miracle! Well, maybe it's more like a stocking stuffer but I'll take it!
12/28 - 253.4 - I'm happy about this.
12/29 - 252.6 - I've almost undone the damage. I'm looking for a new low for the end of this round.
12/30 -
12/31 - New Year's Eve - pizza & ginger beer.
01/01 - HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! My goal for 2019 is to get in to ONEderland. Lots of opportunities to get it right.

Good Luck, Everyone! I wish you All the very best of the Season!13 -

My goals this round- get to 169. Drink lots of water and make exercise a priority.
12/24- 178- A salty swoosh up. We leave for the in-laws today and will return to the scale in a few days .
12/25 - Merry Christmas to all of you!!!
12/26- No Scale
12/27-178 Still on a swoosh up. It will go down.
12/28-177 Slow....that eating was fun, but it sure takes me a few days to get back into the swing of things!

12/24 - 183.2 Third day in a row! I had the first of 4 Christmas dinners yesterday. I walked three miles before the dinner and with the exercise calories - I stayed within goal. Normally I eat back less than half but for the holiday I made an exception. Another dinner today, one tomorrow and then one next weekend. I might be able to walk later today but I doubt it. No walk tomorrow either. I'm going to be jumpy by Wednesday.
12/25 - 183.9 Still ok with this. I'm pretty sure it's sodium as I did not go over on calories yesterday. I didn't get a chance to walk and probably won't today either. My family will be here in a few hours and we'll do Christmas with dinner and treats. I have been able to stay out of most of the treats I made, but I made candied pecans for the first time this year and they were VERY hard to stay out of with their cinnamon deliciousness. Merry Christmas everyone!
12/26 - 182.8 WooHoo! I'm sure it's short lived. I cooked and hosted so much yesterday I didn't really eat and I got in a 2 mile walk before everyone got there. I've made it thru the first 3 Christmas dinners without a gain. I have one more on Saturday then I'm done. I got an Apple Watch for Christmas and LOVE IT!
12/27 - No scale I ended up spending the night with a friend so no weigh in. I would guess I'm a little higher today due to a sodium, though I'm under on calories. I got in a good work out at the gym last night. Should walk today but it's going to be rainy and cold. I'm too tired anyway; no more sleepovers on school nights for me.
12/28 - 183.4 Up a little but no biggie. I did end up walking 4 miles yesterday though in two spurts. I had assumed it was going to rain all afternoon/evening so I got in 1.5 miles at lunch. When I got off work I had time for another walk before picking up my BF at the airport. I found another new trail that is awesome and close to the airport. The trail is wooded and peaceful though VERY hilly. If things keep going this way I'll be 182.X by the end of the round. It's going to be challenging to walk outside the next few weeks but I'll figure out something.
12/29 - 183.5 It's the weekend before New Years. I'm going to my last Christmas dinner today. It was rainy and cold yesterday and had a ton of errands to run - so no walk. I hope to get one in today but it doesn't look good. I'm going shopping then the dinner. I'll go to the gym after if there is time but you know I hate treadmills and it's supposed to be sunny tomorrow.

12/26 - 177.6 back to basics today!
12/27 - 177.2 getting back to weight loss calories is a challenge after 6 weeks at maintenance and a few splurge days. Thank goodness for exercise calories. Happy third day of Xmas - the decorations will remain until 12th night but the treats will be gone today.
12/28 - 176.2 This was a nice surprise - after pizza and cookies yesterday. Exercise routine is back on track now to get the meal planning going again.
12/29 - 176.2 exercise and logging are back on track and the last of the sweets dropped off at work for the students. Calories were still over, but just a little.

After a very frustrating round 62, let's hope for a better round 63. Really need to get rid of whatever illness I have going on!
Ended R62 at 171
12/24: 170.4 Not that bad, I suppose. Gonna go get some running in for the first time in five days. Gotta earn my movie popcorn for tonight!
12/25: Decided to enjoy Christmas not worrying about a number. I did get an apple watch, so let's hope those activity rings motivate me!
12/26: 169.0 SO EXCITED. Praying that I can stay below 170! I know this has been the endless area for a lot of us. Just gotta work my butt off to keep going!
12/27: So I forgot to weigh myself this morning Had an early (and exciting) morning! Hoping for a good number tomorrow though.
12/28: 168.2 Hopefully gonna get to the gym today!
12/29: 169.0 Well that's mildly annoying...

Day/Weight/Comment
12/24--215.1 Whoosh! Hopefully it will hold. I'm a federal government who is furloughed, so the unexpected time off right now is pretty sweet. I just need to make sure that I don't derail my eating while I'm off work, I find that I snack a lot when I'm bored. So to give myself something to do I made a list of things that I need to do around the house that I have been putting off and I'm going to work on a couple of the tasks every day while I am off. Went to the gym today for weightlifting, this is not my usual weightlifting day but the gym is closed tomorrow. The sun is out today, which is shocking in the PNW for this time of the year, so assuming the weather holds up I will be taking the dog out for a walk this evening.
12/25--215.1 Weight still holding. Sinus pressure came back yesterday, I think it's from the 3 pieces of milk chocolate I had on Sunday. Going out for Christmas dinner.
12/26--215.6 I usually have a weight jump up to 2 days afterwards, so I won't be surprised if there is another gain tomorrow. Today is closet organizing day, so I'm going to organize all of the closets today. Some closets will definitely be easier than others. Yoga later tonight.
12/27--214.9 Very surprised to see this number, I was expecting a bump up. Already been to this gym this morning to do some weightlifting. Closets were done yesterday, so the main thing today is cleaning/organizing the laundry/storage room and taking down the Christmas tree. I may also sneak in an afternoon nap.
12/28--214.2 Weighed twice to make sure. I have to stay home to wait for a delivery today, so I will be doing a lot of little things around the house. No working out today, today is a rest day and it's going to be raining all day so no long walk with the dog either.
12/29--214.5 This morning I realized it's been 4 weeks since I've started this elimination diet due to my food allergies and I can't believe how much better my stomach/digestion is feeling since I've started. I can't wait until I can start reintroducing some more foods. The best thing about the elimination is that I have become a lot more aware to how foods affect my digestion. Supposed to be windy and rainy today, so no long walk with the dog today and today is another no gym day so another day to get things done around the house.

12/24 – 191.8 - totally expected this gain and expect more to come in the next few days so I'm not bummed about it. Husband and I are partied out and will be having a quiet dinner at home tomorrow. I'm making grocery list for the rest of the week and will be heading to the store shortly. Bring on the veggies and lean proteins! Light snow falling and more expected tomorrow. Looks like we'll have a White Christmas.
12/25 – 191.2 – Just a fluke…it will go up soon enough. Yesterday I shopped, came home and roasted parsnips, carrots and sweet potatoes for a breakfast hash for the short work week. I was so busy during the day I really didn’t eat much then overate at dinner time which was a little later than usual. My lunches are already made. Lots of veggies and some rotisserie chicken breast I picked up. No White Christmas. They keep saying snow but it’s mostly just drizzle. Merry Christmas to all!
12/26 – 191.2 - Official weigh-in today...maybe this will hold and I won't see the big gain I was expecting. I'm still down .8 overall since last weigh-in so I'll take it. Finally got our snow. Enough to bring out the plows and make the neighborhood kids happy. They can build snowmen and play with any new snow toys they might have gotten for Christmas. Hope everyone had an enjoyable day yesterday. Healthy eating and water drinking today is the plan.
12/27 – 190.6 - Say WHAT?! Just goes to show...the body is a strange thing. I'm still a little skeptical but putting me so close to the 180's sure is exciting! Ate well yesterday and had lots of water. Still a little over in my calories but I'm dialing things in. Very icy roads this morning. White knuckled it all the way to work even though I'm less than two miles away and have a 4-Wheel drive. Going back to read everyone's progress. Hope you all make it a healthy day.
12/28 – - Ok, I can't remember if my scale said 190.2 or 191.2, lol! I get up at 5am and sometimes my brain is too foggy to comprehend anything. I ordered a FitBit Versa a few days ago and it came yesterday. Husband and I got it mostly set up last night. Still a few things to learn but I think I'm going to like it. Will weigh tomorrow and hopefully remember what the scale says. Pizza night tonight but I've lightened it up...thin crust, ham, pineapple, tomato. Refuse to give up my Friday pizza so I just make adjustments where I can. Congrats to all those whose scale is going in the right direction and hugs to those whose scale is still not playing nice.
12/29 – Solid 190.2 - I'm pretty sure that's what it said yesterday morning. Menu is made for the week, big increase in veggies coming soon. Going to get a load of laundry started then head to the grocery store. FitBit is an eye opener on my steps. I knew I didn't get many steps during the day since our office is so tiny but WOW I need to crank it up! I even walked around our tiny parking lot yesterday and still the number is ridiculously low.
@UTMom81 - don't be discouraged. If you're doing all the right things you will be rewarded! I'm sure your swoosh is right around the corner!!
