My name is Jen. I’ve been sitting at the low 200s for a while now trying everything to get my weight to budge. A great MFP friend suggested this group and so far it’s helping! The weight is still moving at a snails pace but at least it’s moving!

12/24 207.0. Now that I see my numbers up top I realize I only gained a pound during a very busy time when I was sick and work was very stressful. I’m up again today but I think that is mainly due to two very salty dinners in a row. Gotta drink lots of water today!!
12/25 - did not weigh
12/26 - did not weigh
12/27 - 208.8. I’m back and ready to bring this number down. I couldn’t bring myself to weigh in yesterday. This number isn’t horrible but I can’t wait until it comes down again. I feel heavy and lethargic which needs to change.
12/28 - 209.2. I was hoping this number would go down lol! I had some salty food yesterday so I think that might be part of it. This was a good wake up call for me. Need to get back to basics.
12/29 - 211. I’m really hoping this is all water retention. I worked out again yesterday and had a salty dinner so I’m hoping this will start to disappear soon. I have my day all planned out today so should see a drop tomorrow.
12/30 - 209.4. Much better today. Going to do the same things today plus get a treadmill workout in.
12/31 - 208.8. Happy with this! Happy New Year everyone!
1/1 - 206.8. Well that’s the last whoosh of Christmas goodies and salty food gone! I feel so much better than I have in weeks. Going to try and get a treadmill workout in today. Happy New Year everyone!!!

I am a 50 year old 5'5" woman. I am trying to get healthier to avoid diabetes and all of the problems that come from being overweight.
I have found this challenge to be both rewarding and frustrating! Looking at my weight daily has been a real eye opener to see all of the fluctuations and how a high carb day will affect me and the loss for 2-3 days after.
I need to step up my game if I want to meet any of my goals.

Not sure what to expect in this round, being the Holidays, I guess my goal will be not to see anything starting with 18 in the average.
12/24 – 178 - The gathering at our friends house yesterday was fun, there was a nice roast beef with potatoes and asparagus. There were a lot of people and not as much food as there could have been so it was a win for me! Merry Christmas everyone!
12/25 – 179.2
12/26 – 180.8 I’m sure a lot of this was sodium from the chips I ate the last couple of days.
12/27 – 181.4 - ugh!
12/28 – 182.2
12/29 – 181.2 - hopefully I can keep on track today and the next few days will continue to go down.
12/30 – 179.2 - Better, but not where I was hoping it would be.
12/31 – 179.8
01/01 – 179.2
01/02 –10 -
Start Weight - 191
Goal Weight - 140 - 150
12/24 – 191.8 - totally expected this gain and expect more to come in the next few days so I'm not bummed about it. Husband and I are partied out and will be having a quiet dinner at home tomorrow. I'm making grocery list for the rest of the week and will be heading to the store shortly. Bring on the veggies and lean proteins! Light snow falling and more expected tomorrow. Looks like we'll have a White Christmas.
12/25 – 191.2 – Just a fluke…it will go up soon enough. Yesterday I shopped, came home and roasted parsnips, carrots and sweet potatoes for a breakfast hash for the short work week. I was so busy during the day I really didn’t eat much then overate at dinner time which was a little later than usual. My lunches are already made. Lots of veggies and some rotisserie chicken breast I picked up. No White Christmas. They keep saying snow but it’s mostly just drizzle. Merry Christmas to all!
12/26 – 191.2 - Official weigh-in today...maybe this will hold and I won't see the big gain I was expecting. I'm still down .8 overall since last weigh-in so I'll take it. Finally got our snow. Enough to bring out the plows and make the neighborhood kids happy. They can build snowmen and play with any new snow toys they might have gotten for Christmas. Hope everyone had an enjoyable day yesterday. Healthy eating and water drinking today is the plan.
12/27 – 190.6 - Say WHAT?! Just goes to show...the body is a strange thing. I'm still a little skeptical but putting me so close to the 180's sure is exciting! Ate well yesterday and had lots of water. Still a little over in my calories but I'm dialing things in. Very icy roads this morning. White knuckled it all the way to work even though I'm less than two miles away and have a 4-Wheel drive. Going back to read everyone's progress. Hope you all make it a healthy day.
12/28 – - Ok, I can't remember if my scale said 190.2 or 191.2, lol! I get up at 5am and sometimes my brain is too foggy to comprehend anything. I ordered a FitBit Versa a few days ago and it came yesterday. Husband and I got it mostly set up last night. Still a few things to learn but I think I'm going to like it. Will weigh tomorrow and hopefully remember what the scale says. Pizza night tonight but I've lightened it up...thin crust, ham, pineapple, tomato. Refuse to give up my Friday pizza so I just make adjustments where I can. Congrats to all those whose scale is going in the right direction and hugs to those whose scale is still not playing nice.
12/29 – Solid 190.2 - I'm pretty sure that's what it said yesterday morning. Menu is made for the week, big increase in veggies coming soon. Going to get a load of laundry started then head to the grocery store. FitBit is an eye opener on my steps. I knew I didn't get many steps during the day since our office is so tiny but WOW I need to crank it up! I even walked around our tiny parking lot yesterday and still the number is ridiculously low.
@UTMom81 - don't be discouraged. If you're doing all the right things you will be rewarded! I'm sure your swoosh is right around the corner!!
12/30 – Still 190.2 - scale fluttered at 189.x but settled back. Was Go, Go, Go all day long yesterday. Didn't drink nearly enough water then got "snacky" last night while watching a movie. Had some nuts and a bite size strudel dessert. Most of the Christmas decorations are down, just a few things for me to put away. I like going in to the new year fresh and clean. Need to prep my lunches for the week and make a small (new recipe) meatloaf for dinner tonight. Think I'll use my mini meatloaf pan for single servings. Winter weather moving in. Single digits tonight and tomorrow night. Gonna be bitter cold. Off to read all the posts above mine and hope everyone enjoys their day.
12/31 – STILL 190.2 - at least I'm not gaining Another busy day in the kitchen yesterday getting things prepped for the week but I did have a victory. First time since logging back in to MFP that I've been below my calorie goal. I was pretty pleased. Pushed our single digits out to tonight and tomorrow. 6 is predicted but I bet we hit 0. Not looking forward to the next few mornings. And just a reminder...with tomorrow being the 1st day of the year it would be an excellent day to take measurements if you haven't done it yet! Off to read the above posts and hope everyone has a great last day of 2018!
01/01 – 190.2 <grumble, grumble, grumble>. BUT, I know why the scale is not moving. I just looked at some of the reports on my new FitBit. On the average I am eating almost the exact same amount of calories as I'm burning during the whole day. Same calories in, same calories out = No Change. So with that bit of enlightenment I know I need to work harder and get more focused. Happy New Year to all and hope it's a healthy one filled with lots of losses for all!

About me: 62, 5'7", hit maintenance in March 2018 and, typical yoyo, currently bouncing back up over original goal weight of 130. Want to get back to 127-128.

12/31 - 134.8 - Yesterday ate almost double my maintenance calories. 135ish is what I weighed a year ago, but then I was going down! So this is the new ceiling and I am crawling back mid-round ... "rising again every time I fall."

24th Round for me: Female 65, height 5’
I feel like I’m at the beginning of a new year. Usually we have company or go away but this year decided to do our visiting in spring and fall and stay put for winter - avoiding all the stress of driving in the snow in the mountains. I’m enjoying the peacefulness of it but my mind is jumping ahead to 2019.Round 39 (1st for me) – SW 163, loss -.2Goal this round: 159ish. I was down here in Oct. and having so much trouble getting back there. Right now even ½ lb. per round would seem great.
Round 40 – on holidays, gain +1.6
Round 41 – SW 164.4, loss -2
Round 42 - SW: 162.6, loss -.6
Round 43 – SW 162, loss -.4

Round 46 – SW 161.8, gain +.6
Round 47 – SW 162.4, loss -2.2
Round 48 – SW 160.2, missed most of this round and Round 49 as I was away without computer or scale.
Round 50 – SW 160.2, loss -.8
Round 51 – SW 160.8, loss -1
Round 52 – on holidays, no scale
Round 53 – SW 159.8, loss -1.4
Round 54 – SW 158.4, gain +.6
Round 55 – SW 159.4, +2.4
Round 56 – SW 161.9, -.3
Round 57 – SW 161.6, No change

Round 60 – SW 161.6, -.8
Round 61 – 160.8, -.6
Round 62 – 160.2, +.4
I’m going to apply to go on a short course in April. That is 13-14 weeks away (about 9 rounds). So my more immediate goal is to lose 1 lb/round. The course is something I’ve wanted to do for a very long time – I don’t have to lose weight for it but it would be sweet if I did.
Ultimate Goal Weight – 128; Hoping to be under 140 by end of June.
Day/Weight/Comment
12/24 – 160.6 – Bought some borscht yesterday for a quick lunch, seemed way saltier than usual. Also made up some shrimp dip with light cream cheese (we used to always do it at Christmas but even with the light stuff is pretty high calorie) So not a great day yesterday although no LNS. Calories probably at maintenance.
12/25 – 161.2
12/26 – 161. 6 – Found a spiced beef roast deep in the freezer and decided to cook it for Christmas since dh is not a fan of turkey and we’ve had ham several times lately. Put potatoes and veg. in with it for an easy meal and it was amazing. Made angel food cake with lots of whipped cream – only got the small cream so it will soon be gone and not tempting me. Can’t remember when there has been just the two of us for Christmas but it was nice. Buckets of snow today (we live in the snowbelt) so feel for our neighbors’ kids who headed out early this am. At least our roads are just wet so likely only the passes will be nasty.
12/27 – 160.6 – Happy to be back here but let’s not stay! Busy day today, gym tomorrow.
12/28 – 161.4 – When I wrote “Let’s not stay” I wasn’t thinking of going up. Then had three dessert indulgences yesterday and here we are. Back to the gym today so maybe I can wear it off. Have to make cake today for a potluck so must be careful. I’m not much of a cake fan but love the fudge icing on this one.
12/29 – 162.6 – Cake made and actually didn’t have a piece, did sample the boiled icing (like caramel fudge) and also ate some of the candies I bought this week. They looked like a meringue to me but were actually more like white chocolate. I like the taste but they are bad for my body (high fat for starters, but that is not the only thing as equal fat in bacon or even dark chocolate is not as bad). So today am paying – draggy feeling, water retention. Threw the candies out, good thing that they were marked way down so was not also a huge waste of money.
12/30 – 162.4 -Made myself record cals., cake and all (which I don't usually do on Sunday cause my food is more irregular) and it's actually not as bad as I feared. Just have to not throw in the towel and eat other junk.
12/31 – 162.4 – Making myself record even the bad calories yesterday worked – came up at around maintenance. Today off to the gym and no more desserts.
01/01 – 162- … and very thankful. I put the scale in a slightly different position (1/2 inch) and it read 163.4 - eek!, moved it, reread and got the above, which is more reasonable. According to Jordan Peterson, fear is more motivating than something positive (think about how fast you can get something done when company’s coming even though you’ve been wanting to do it for months). So I’ll take that as my bit of fear to keep me going. Yesterday was good foodwise and pushed a little harder at the gym. Generally, I’m way too easy on myself.
HAPPY NEW YEAR’S EVERYONE!

Day/Weight/Comment
12/24--215.1 Whoosh! Hopefully it will hold. I'm a federal government who is furloughed, so the unexpected time off right now is pretty sweet. I just need to make sure that I don't derail my eating while I'm off work, I find that I snack a lot when I'm bored. So to give myself something to do I made a list of things that I need to do around the house that I have been putting off and I'm going to work on a couple of the tasks every day while I am off. Went to the gym today for weightlifting, this is not my usual weightlifting day but the gym is closed tomorrow. The sun is out today, which is shocking in the PNW for this time of the year, so assuming the weather holds up I will be taking the dog out for a walk this evening.
12/25--215.1 Weight still holding. Sinus pressure came back yesterday, I think it's from the 3 pieces of milk chocolate I had on Sunday. Going out for Christmas dinner.
12/26--215.6 I usually have a weight jump up to 2 days afterwards, so I won't be surprised if there is another gain tomorrow. Today is closet organizing day, so I'm going to organize all of the closets today. Some closets will definitely be easier than others. Yoga later tonight.
12/27--214.9 Very surprised to see this number, I was expecting a bump up. Already been to this gym this morning to do some weightlifting. Closets were done yesterday, so the main thing today is cleaning/organizing the laundry/storage room and taking down the Christmas tree. I may also sneak in an afternoon nap.
12/28--214.2 Weighed twice to make sure. I have to stay home to wait for a delivery today, so I will be doing a lot of little things around the house. No working out today, today is a rest day and it's going to be raining all day so no long walk with the dog either.
12/29--214.5 This morning I realized it's been 4 weeks since I've started this elimination diet due to my food allergies and I can't believe how much better my stomach/digestion is feeling since I've started. I can't wait until I can start reintroducing some more foods. The best thing about the elimination is that I have become a lot more aware to how foods affect my digestion. Supposed to be windy and rainy today, so no long walk with the dog today and today is another no gym day so another day to get things done around the house.
12/30--213.6 Weightlifting at gym this morning and then I went for a 4 mile hike with dog...legs are sore so I will definitely be resting for rest of the day. My husband baked some no egg/almond flour chocolate chip cookies yesterday and they were good, even he has had to keep himself from eating them. So far there doesn't seem to be an adverse reaction to the reintroduction of almonds to my diet, but it can take up to 72 hours for any effects, so I will give it a couple of more days to see how it goes.
12/31--214.7 Bounce is definitely from the hike and workout yesterday. I would ususally do a 3 mile walk with the dog today, but after the hike/workout yesterday my muscles are still feeling tired and my dog is tired too. However, today is supposed to be a rare sunny December day in the PNW so I will probably go out for a short walk today and get out and enjoy the sunny weather.
01/01--213.8 There goes the water weight from yesterday. Went weightlifting at the gym this morning. Going out to see a movie later today.

Thanks so much to everyone for all the support and for sharing your ups and downs! This challenge has really helped me to stay focused and to stay sane! Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays & blessings for the New Year!

I've been lurking in the background reading everyone's updates, but decided not to log food or try to post while on vacation.
1/1 -- 154 -- Yes! Back to pre-Christmas weigh in weight. It probably helped that we all went to bed early instead of feasting the year away! Now to maintain this through New Year's Day eating! I did start out right with a 3.3 mile walk/run. Happy New Year everyone! Let's make 2019 awesome together!!

ROUND 63 (Round 10 for me)
5’5” 66 y/o Texas Lady
SW 178 lb.
GW 135-140 lb.
Started Keto WOE on September 24th (2018). Still experiencing decreased arthritis hip and shoulder pain since the second week of Keto. Staying within calorie limits is easy enough, but not exceeding my carb limit is difficult. Per my KetoMojo meter, I’m in ketosis most of the time. Some of my NSVs: my wedding band fits, I wear smaller clothing, and my progress has encouraged my husband to try harder to end his cigarette habit.
Rounds 54 – 62 resulted in a cumulative loss of 27.2 lb.
Day/Weight/Comment
12/24 149.8 Finally below 150! I failed to attain my goal of less than 150 lb. in the last round, but here it is! Now I have to keep it going down. Yesterday was too busy to take a walk before dark, and walking our roads after dark is too dangerous—wild hogs, drunk drivers, etc. This afternoon should be perfect for a walk. First, I have to pick up a pecan pie (and discipline myself to have one bite each day when my husband has a slice), and I have to trade my nephew’s gift out—I realized I dropped off the bag with new wigs for my mother-in-law instead of his toy. Oops! He’d probably have fun with the wigs, but they’ll look better on her.
12/25 149.6 I plan to eat popcorn today, so I expect a little gain tomorrow. (I hope it’s little.) Thor, my GSD, and I had a nice 4 mile walk with cloudy, but comfortable weather. He’s a great walking companion, and he loves going with me. We saw my husband’s kids Saturday and won’t see mine until this coming Sunday. It seems a little strange not rushing around to make last minute preparations for company, but it’s nice, too. We decided to take it easy today—see a movie, eat out, celebrate each other, and, especially, celebrate the birth or our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! Merry Christmas to all!
12/26 148.6 We went to a movie yesterday and enjoyed ourselves. I ate popcorn, too—not a lot, but enough to make me feel like I splurged. I’m happy to see it didn’t show on the scale, at least, not yet. The only open restaurant was a Chinese buffet, but I was able to select keto-friendly foods. I read my fortune, advising me to pay attention to minor details, but I didn’t eat the fortune cookie. 😊 I was disappointed yesterday evening that my husband wasn’t hungry for pecan pie, so I didn’t get my bite. Maybe today…. Nothing but rain/thunderstorms in today’s forecast, so it doesn’t look Thor and I will walk. I think I’ll follow the example of @taxgirl1 and organize my closets. I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas.
12/27 148.8 Tiny gain, but I had a pretty big loss yesterday, so I won’t complain. Playing cards with my friends today—probably canasta. Unlike my husband, I really enjoy card games and domino games. My singing group took a month off for Thanksgiving/Christmas, so we have to practice early this evening for a concert Sunday evening. There'll be no walk with Thor today. My husband skipped the pecan pie again last night, which meant I skipped my bite, but I ate one of his dark chocolate chip cookies. He’s been eating the cookies I baked and taking some to work. At Christmas, he took leftover pecan pie to a coworker, with my blessing. I must be patient. He’s probably trying to do me a favor. I already put half of the new pecan pie in the freezer to take to my boys on Sunday.
12/28 148.2 No time for a walk yesterday, but I enjoyed my card games with friends, and practice with my Magnolia sisters. I still haven’t had another bite of the pecan pie, but I’m surviving. Last night, the pie baker went to practice with me, and I found out the pecan pies she bakes contain 5 cups of pecans! That’s crazy. No wonder I like them so much!
12/29 148.2 It was chilly out yesterday, but Thor and I walked 4 miles. I had to wear a jacket, ear band, and gloves, but it was enjoyable. The prediction for today and tomorrow is cold and wet, so today’s plan is to stay inside. I went through “shrunken clothing” tubs last night and pulled out items I can wear now. I'm glad I held on to most of my smaller clothes. Today’s a good day to pull more baggy clothes out of the closet to donate.
12/30 148.6 The scale is punishing me for the bite of pecan pie and ½ of an oatmeal cookie I ate yesterday. I plan to have one last bite of that pie today before I hand the rest over to my boys. I’m excited to see all my boys today. I don’t get to see all three at once very often. It’s been years since they’ve all been together with their sister—maybe in the new year. At home, we have leftover spaghetti I made Friday night (I ate mine with spaghetti squash), leftover pork tenderloin I made yesterday, and a pot of keto chili that hasn’t been touched yet that I made last night. I shouldn’t have to cook for a few days. I have leftover roasted parmesan zucchini I cooked last night, too. I thank God we have a good roof over our heads and no shortage of good food. We are blessed.
12/31 147.2 Last night’s veggies must have cleaned me out. This morning, I weighed 3 times, moved the scale, walked away, and weighed 2 more times when I came back—still the same number. Yesterday was enjoyable—lunch with my boys, then a concert performance, followed by dinner with the girls in our group and one husband (not mine). The meals were good, but I didn’t try to figure calories—I just ate carefully. I messed up twice yesterday—forgot to take the pecan pie to lunch and, worse, forgot to tell my oldest son happy birthday. How could I forget? No one else said anything, that I heard, to remind me. I called him on my way to the concert and sang happy birthday to him. For the New Year’s Eve event at a friend’s home this evening, I’ll make a Twice Baked Cauliflower Casserole (for me) and a sweet desert (for my husband). If I remember, I’ll take the rest of the pecan pie! Enjoy your New Year celebrations!
01/01 147.4 HAPPY NEW YEAR! We celebrated with friends last night and enjoyed ourselves. I had one margarita, a very small piece of bread, and a small piece of cobbler with a little scoop of ice cream, but everything else was low carb. Texas A&M won their bowl game by a convincing score of 52-13. Yay! Thor and I had a 4 mile walk before the celebration, so that was good. I realize my blessings always exceed my trials, but I’m a little slow to make that connection at times and give God the praise as quickly as I should. I pray each of you will see blessings far exceed the inevitable trials in your lives in 2019.

Day/Weight/Comment
12/24 - 145 - Saturday's party just showed up on the scale. My Grandson is coming over to make Christmas cookies with me tonight. I'm enjoying every minute of this. I'll have plenty of time in January to make up for these indulgences.
12/25 - 144.5
12/26 - 147 - At least I'm still enjoying myself!
12/27 - 146.5 - Some of the family left yesterday evening and I'm back in the office for a couple days. I'm going to try to eat at weight loss calories for the next few days until the New Year's and football game festivities begin with the remaining family this weekend. NSV - Yesterday, my very fit and thin SIL and I walked to a local Lululemon store. She loves the workout gear and we've been walking over there the day after Christmas for several years now. At 186 or so pounds, I never found anything there that I thought would fit or look decent on me, especially for the price. Well, I ended up finding and buying a pair of size 8 travel pants that were on sale. My SIL was so excited for me.
12/28 - 145.5 - Well I must have picked up some kind of virus while I was out last week. It seems to be centered around my chest and throat. I had to take off work today. It has not spoiled my appetite though, of course.
12/29 - 144.5 - I've been drinking a lot of water to help with my congestion. That's the only reason I think my weight is down, as I've been indulging in some comfort foods.
12/30 - 146.5
12/31 - 145.5 - I didn't feel well enough to post yesterday, although I weighed myself. I'm feeling better today, but I have indulged in some more comfort foods like chili and cornbread and a brownie. I hope everyone enjoys their New year festivities tonight!
01/01 - 146 - I'm just bouncing along waiting to see where I land when this round ends tomorrow.

During December I just want to make it out of the month alive and without too much damage. I have slowly inched myself into the 180’s. I want to get back into the 170’s and maintain (at the very minimum). I want to increase my exercising now that my livingroom renovation is complete. I want to get all my steps in and incorporate more & more of the great ideas you all have shared. My personal goals are the greatest presents that I can give to myself during this most Holy month of celebrations. This is my way of saying Merry Christmas to me. Your ideas and comments are the greatest presents that I could ever receive from all of you. Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays to us all!

Day/Weight/Comment:
12/24 - 183.3 - I enjoyed my GS’s 2nd birthday yesterday. I ate out of plan with too many carbs but was reasonable. It is not hard to find yourself over 20 net carbs! I have a Christmas Party with friends tonight. I don't hold out much hope for this round either, so many food events to come! . But I do persist. Everyday (no matter what is on the agenda) is another day to make a small change or a good choice even if the day holds an event. I can certainly choose wisely even if it's only one of the meals on the day of a gathering. One meal out of plan on an event day should NOT sink my ship. Extra movement on an event day goes a long way too. I persist....I persist....I persist.....
12/25 - 183.2 Christmas party with friends last night. Tonight is my main present opening & goodie even with me adult kids and grandkids.
12/26 - 184.1 . Main Christmas gathering with my adult kids & grandchildren yesterday evening. . Food, Food, Food last night. A touch of alcohol too. I swear I heard the scale scream at me today!
12/27 - 184.5 Went out of town yesterday. Did much better with my choices until I got home to the Christmas cookies! I have boxed up most of them and are delivering some tomorrow to my kids. Roads are too slick today. My cravings have been out of control. My stomach actually growling again like it used to. That is what happens when I go off plan & eat too many carbs-I truly spin out of control. This is why it has to be a lifestyle, not a short-term solution to a long-term problem. I’ve done this to myself and will have to pay my dues. I have been inspired by SO MANY OF YOU and I am ready for January, come Heck or High Water.
12/28 - 184.5 Same old behaviors, same old results. Why would I expect otherwise? Frustrated with self. However, as promised, I will persist. January cannot come soon enough though.
12/29 - 184.4 A 0.1 drop. Retaining fluids for sure as there is very little shedding. I drank double threat water (parsley & lemon) but probably not enough. More black coffee than anything else. LNS was disappointing but the day and the meals went very very well though I experienced severe hunger all day. I tried all the low carb foods that usually help with that: eggs, bulletproof coffee, nuts & seeds for snacks, nothing seemed to help. That is typical after so many days of higher carbs. That is what led to the LNS but I managed to be reasonable with it. I have been doing some aerobic dancing and I’m sure that helped with the small drop on the scale. I wish this small backwoods town had a gym. We had a Curves for about 3 years a decade ago, but it didn’t last long due to such low population and membership. And our homes are really cabins, under 1000 sq feet (if they have been added onto over the years) so no chance for indoor equipment outside of hand weights. That is why I took up walking. However with very slippery roads now and a town without sidewalks, even that is difficult. I am going to keep up the dancing and perhaps resume walking inside the school when they are back in session. They have increased security (which must have been regulated since it's so safe here), so I am hoping I can still get in. I’m hoping for a bigger drop tomorrow morning before our Christmas feast and I pray I can keep the hunger at bay today. Right now it’s all about getting my body back into routine. Tomorrow is our big Christmas Feast. So I am going to try to make today count. Still, I persist.
12/30 - 184.3 Such s.l.o.w movement on the scale. It sure doesn’t go on that way! At least it’s in the right direction. Huge Family Christmas Feast today with Ham & all the fixings. I will try to be mindful of my portions since I know that it will be over my allowed 20 net carbs.
12/31 - 185.1 The family Christmas feast was held at my daughters yesterday evening. I kept to small dinner portions. Calories were not that bad but the carbs were high due to potatoes & gravy and dinner rolls. Kept it light, however. I did do a little dessert but truly kept it all at a minimum. I skipped the alcohol, soda and milk and stuck to black coffee. It wasn’t perfect, but pretty good for such a large feast with so much variety. Needless to say, I am very disappointed in the gain. However, @TerriRichardson112 reminds us in her spoiler, sometimes it does not show up for a few days on the scale. So I am hoping this is a bit of water/bloat weight, and my good choices will still show up in the next few days on the scale. I have to work today as New Years Eve is popular for motel & cabin rentals, so I will get lots of steps in today & will fit in some cardio & strength training tonight.
01/01 - 185.5 A little up again after festivities last night. Enjoyed time with family at home since it is also where my cabin & motel room rentals are (so I did have to work too). However, Today is GROUND ZERO. I have 365 days & 365 chances to rewrite my story and to make a difference in my own life and the life of others. Today is day #1. I will do my very best. My short term goal is to get back to my lowest weight of 2018 (174.6) and make my ticker honest (I never changed it upward in Faith). I would like to do this by Valentine’s Day. This was not my original goal, but one that I can attain if I work hard again. I am very excited and looking forward to it! Happy New Year everyone!

12/25 - 255.6 - I weighed in 2 hours earlier than I did yesterday morning. I finally had a decent day of eating yesterday and stayed within my new 1650 calorie limit. MERRY CHRISTMAS! HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
12/26 - 255.6 - This is a definite win for me. I ate at maintenance yesterday but had a lot of sodium. I'm doing so much better this year than last even though I'm up from my lowest of 252 in R61. Other years, it's nothing for me to pack on 10 pounds during the holidays and stay that way or go even higher and of course, give up trying altogether. This time it will be different.
12/27 - 254.2 - There's my Christmas miracle! Well, maybe it's more like a stocking stuffer but I'll take it!
12/28 - 253.4 - I'm happy about this.
12/29 - 252.6 - I've almost undone the damage. I'm looking for a new low for the end of this round.
12/30 - 252.0 - Back to end weight of R61.
12/31 - 251.2 - A new low for this attempt at weight loss! Now to keep it together tonight. We usually have take-out pizza on NYE but tonight we're eating frozen pizzas (Dr. Oetker) which we both like alright. I'm so happy my BF is supporting me with this. I'll be having a couple of Crabbies ginger beers, too. I don't drink much anymore so I'm okay to go light on the drinks. The plan is to eat light today to keep the cals. down to make room for tonight.
01/01 - 253.6 - HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! No worries about this. I ate more pizza and food overall yesterday than I planned for. Started 2019 doing the New Year's Day Bird Count with other birders so the year is off to a great start for me. I'm feeling really positive and raring to go! I hope EveryOne has a fantastic 2019!

12/24 Monday - 174.8 - late night snacking got me last night. Enjoying the next two days without regret and may or may not log. Aiming to maintain again this round, especially ending the round on the 2nd we usually do a buffett for new years eve so being realistic. I have a crazy headache today so I'm hitting the water hard.
12/25 - DNW
12/26 - Wednesday - 176.6 - No surprise there as I enjoyed yesterday without holding back and without logging. Back at it today though! Lots of water at work - DH made beef stew for lunches this week. And I've got some yummy teriyaki salmon cakes to make for dinner tonight!
12/27 - Thursday - 176.6 - Weird day yesterday; both schedule wise and eating wise. Got into work, then had to leave at noon for our wood delivery. Spent the last 2 hours of daylight stacking. Ate dinner. Still hungry, ate ramen noodles?! Havent done that in a long time - used to live on that junk. Got up early and moved some more wood, probably got about a cord stacked with another cord we have to get done tonight because snow/rain is due in tonight and it will absolutely kill me to see this beautiful kiln dried wood sit in a pile in the rain so we'll be working in the dark tonight. Atleast I'll get my exercise in! Eating what we have available, sandwich for lunch and leftover stew for dinner. Need to get cracking on my water!!!
12/28 - Friday - 174.6 - back in the right direction. Stacking wood for hours helped too, but I was starving and ate all the calories back. Anyway, working from home today and need to grocery shop later so I'll try to find a balance and drink enough water. Got another headache today, they had all but disappeared for a while but seem to be more frequent lately and id like to curtail that, just gotta figure out exactly whats causing them to return again.
12/29 - Saturday - 176.6 - spiraling a bit here. Headache has not gone away despite lots of water and some Tylenol. Hate how much these have come back with a vengeance and its a bit cyclical, feel worse, eat worse, feel worse, struggle to get back to habits because I'm feeling poorly. Ah I went grocery shopping and got way too much junk cause it was easy. Realized that eating crap costs just as much as eating healthy so thats no excuse. We have plans for chinese food and friends coming over for new years eve so I'll unload a lot of these snacks on them too. A regular work schedule makes it so much easier for me to stay on track so I'll get back in the swing soon enough.
12/30 - Sunday - 177.6 - really didnt even want to post this number. Considered calling it a dnw day, or skipping posting all together. But gotta be honest thru the process, thats what its all about. Theres all kinds of reasons for it, salt, not enough water, a little constipated, the list goes on. But just being honest and present is a win for me despite a higher number.
12/31 - Monday - 177.6 - chinese food tonight so might be higher still tomorrow. Staying positive and celebrating all the victories of the year and letting that spur me on in 2019. Driven, is my word of the year!
01/01 - Tuesday - 176.6 - surprising, but todays eating has been so bad, I'm mentally preparing for tomorrow. A gain at the end of the round is not the end of the world, just part of the journey. The new year was rung in with joy and hope and I'm feeling so incredibly fulfilled by all ive accomplished this year; personally, professionally, as a partner. Thanks to all you here for growing with me as we shrink our waistlines!!! Happy new Year, all!

GO for LOW New Year’s Weight! 5 day Burst!!9 -
Heaviest Weight: 213
Recent Start Weight: 193 (January 2017)
I’ve been in maintenance for several months until the holidays, content at around 146. I am now OVER the point at which I didn’t want to be again (150), so I’ll be getting back on track to lose back down to at least around 146 or so. May try to go lower in the new year, but we will see. For the immediate future, I just want to get and stay back under 150.
Goal for round 63= 149.x
Day/Weight/Comment
12/24= 150.8 Still a couple more celebrations to survive, then back on track.
12/25= 153 Christmas meals and treats. Going to drink lots of water today.
12/26= 153.4 There you have it. My Christmas high. I’m owning it, realizing there’s lots of work to do in the coming days to not only lose the weight but make it past the sugar/carb cravings that will have increased due to these indulgent last however many days. Good luck in “recovery” friends.
12/27= 151.4 It felt really good yesterday to eat healthy again! Got in a bike ride and a walk on the beach, too. Bought an adorable pair of exercise leggings that I will be a walking in today! :-) (Why does something so silly make me feel good?) LOL
12/28= 152.6 Ate healthy again all day (cooked at home too), but did a lot of exercise, so maybe this is water weight from muscle fatigue. That’s what I’m hoping anyway.
12/29= 152.6 I must admit I’m discouraged by this. I’ve really upped the exercise levels since 12/26 with little positive effect. I’m eating healthy too and staying under my calorie goal (although not by much). I hope I’ll have a swoosh soon. :-(
12/30= 152.6 Still stuck. But did very well yesterday on all counts.
12/31= 151.2 Yay a bit of a Whoosh!
01/01= 151.0

I started over today as planned. Weight I didn't like, but I expected it to be up, but that number???? Oh well I am up and running!!!! I will be at the next round. I plan on doing what I should tomorrow. I do have a challenge at work. I have cut the protein shakes because of the dairy in them that I am trying to give up. I am also doing IF. I don't get a regular break, but I will set aside 15 minutes early enough for lunch to eat or bring my food along to eat at the facility where client eats at. I just hope that is ok to do. I always get flack with whatever I do around food. It is soooo annoying.8

@salleewins, when I first started my journey losing weight,I wasn’t retiring. The owner of the company I managed would say, “one meal won’t hurt you” they don’t understand sometimes until you are closer maintenance, your one meal counts. Gosh, I hope that makes sense. I would bring my own food and sometimes get the look,
You can do this, it’s only a number as far as the scale. Jump right back on the horse, lol.7 -
Thank you @GrandmaJackie! It does make sense. Thank you for putting it down. I have been trying to explain it to the client and have not been successful. After you saying that, that is what I have been trying to say! Now even I understand it better.

My goal is just to track my food every day for these 10 days.
Day/Weight/Comment
12/24 - 199.5 I logged my food even if it wasn't pretty.
12/25 - 200 all the sweet treats are gone! back to the gym tomorrow
12/26 - 200 seeing the high % of carbs in my diet (due to sugar) has been illuminating! Grocery shopping tomorrow, and aiming to just NOT buy the treats that get me into trouble. I know it's cliche, but I'm looking forward to the "New Year, New Me" restart.
12/27 - 196.5 phew!
12/28 - 197 Physically prepared to eat healthy to ring in the new year... mentally already missing sugar. I went grocery shopping and the only carbs in the cart were for my husband and were things I don't enjoy. Wish me luck!
12/29 - 200 Had an almost perfect day, food-wise! Pounds are up, but it's ok. I'm about a week away from an IVF egg retrieval.
12/30 - 196 there we go! Hitting my macros today, yay! Family dinner tomorrow, and I have to decide ahead of time if I'll let myself eat some dessert.
12/31 - 196.5
01/01 - 195 Happy New Year! I prepped good food for my return to work tomorrow. My goal for the next three days is to stay on top of my water, because it's hard while I'm at work.

I had to cut dairy but needed a protein powder so I switched to a vegan one. Dairy free, soy free, gluten free. Taste isnt as great but can be dressed up just as well with some berries and almond milk, or just vanilla almond milk.3 -

How is it sodium wise and which one do you use? I was thinking of doing this possibly, too.

I use Garden of Life Raw Organic Meal. 140 mg of sodium. 120 calories/serving, 20 g of protein, 8 g carbs, 2 g fat.

Go @salleewins! It's a new year, a new opportunity, and we were made to be successful! Thanks for reminding me I have to go to work tomorrow, and I need to pack a lunch. I'll pull something out of the freezer to heat in the microwave. I only work January to mid-April (my retirement job to earn cruising money ), so I'm out of practice!2

I’m back again for another round. I’m still just working on maintenance for this round. Lots of family in town and we have Christmas and New Years. My goal would be to end this round at 151 or 150. Round 64 is when I will be back on track and hopefully be in the 140 decade finally! Good luck everyone.
SW: 178
End R62: 152.3
Day/Weight/Comment
12/24 - 153.0 up a little from last round, but started doing all the cooking for our Christmas Eve dinner so completely not a surprise.
12/25 - 155.0 up some more. Drank a lot of beer and ate a lot of food yesterday. Had an amazing time with all the family though. I’m glad I get to go back to work tomorrow and get back on schedule. Love the holidays, but glad I am done with Christmas this year.
12/26 - 156.3 Up some more. Wow 4 pounds in 3 days. Hopefully it is a lot of water weight and sodium and just crap that I normally don’t eat that will get out soon. I think I gained 6 pounds over Thanksgiving so I guess 4 isn’t terrible. Sucks being over 155 again though. Back at work today and lots of water and clean food is what I have planned. Oh well, it happens once a year, so I will suck it up and take it for what it is.
12/27 - 153.7 going back down. Did well yesterday. Drank lots of water and stayed on track for the most part. Did have some friends stop by unexpectedly and had a couple of drinks with them. I think this would have been a little lower if not for that. Hopefully I will see that 151 or 152 tomorrow. I am just counting the days until these holidays are over, lol.
12/28 - 152.3 Half way through this round and going back in the right direction. I'm back where I was at the end of the last round, so can't complain. One more weekend of entertaining, food, drinks, and fun. Then I am back going full force. I so want to be in the 140's already. I have been so close this entire month. Next round for sure, hopefully, lol!
12/29 - 151.8 and we continue to get back to my 2 week pre-holiday festivities. Hopefully I can do good today and maintain through this weekend. Glad to know I didn’t do to much damage.
12/30 - 152.4 had a couple of drinks with my husband for the ufc fights last night. Ate under calories, but I could have made better choices. Also did a little LNS that I probably could have done with out. Those chips were calling my name though. Football and getting my house cleaned is on my schedule for today.
12/31 - 151.8 super happy with this. Nice day at home with the kids and husband. Did not make my 30 pound goal this year, but was super close. I was 3 pounds off. Not going to complain, super happy with my progress so far. Ready to conquer that last 16 pounds I have remaining in 2019. We have 2 more days of this round. Hopefully I can finish on a decent note. Have plans with the kids and husband tonight. Movies, snack food, and probably a couple of drinks. I’m going to try and be careful, but I’m also going to have a good night with my family. Hope you all have a great NYE tonight!
01/01 - 151.2 I’m almost where I was before Christmas started. Probably will be up tomorrow but that’s ok. My 2 week vacation is over and we go back to regular life. Which honestly is probably best for me! I actually didn’t do terrible, but could have been better. Hopefully end on a loss or at least maintain tomorrow.
