    Friday 10 May

Catch up on my logging estimates :)
Go for a long walk :)
It's another beautiful day and the sea is very calm - be prepared for midges!

Walked about 6 miles' the weather was good and the views were excellent.

Joining in on this one day at a time - today is day 5 re-committed for me and it's been a successful week but I really am going day by day right now. My weigh in's start on Monday.

    JFT goals:
    Workout (cardio day) - DONE!
10,000 steps (regular activity - cardio workout not included) - currently at 2k
Log everything & stay on plan and in the green
    Alcohol free
Finish the stupid project that I've been working on at work all week that's awful and stressing me out so its done

    So yesterday:
    Workout - yes
    10000 steps - no, about 6000
Log everything and stay the course - yes
    AF -yes
Finish stupid project - no (see my steps, it’s a sitting at a computer project) but I made good progress.

    JFT Goals 5/11
    Stay on plan and log
    Get workout in
Get some yard work and gardening done
    AF
Get the grocery shopping done and do NOT deviate from the list
Take a few minutes to just enjoy the nice day without worrying about or doing work

Morning all, hope everyone had a good end to the work week. I ended up staying up quite late on the phone to my boyfriend last night and was tempted to snack but made a hot drink instead. V proud of myself as I was frustrated for various reasons, which I’ve noticed is a big trigger emotion for me, but I held firm. A later than usual exercise class for me today, but so grateful to my amazing mum for coming to take the kids so I could get my workout in. Off to shower, eat lunch and then join them now...

    Friday goals recap:
    - morning run ✅ and more speed improvements! 😃
    - pack snacks and milk for work ✅
    - home lunchtime for car and shake ✅
    - send docs to conveyancer ✅
    - GaG certificate before leaving ✅
    - health food store and tan after work ✅
    - Pick up L from play date at 6:15 ✅
    - bed by 9:30 ❎ not even close!

    Saturday goals:
    - get kids up and ready to go to my parents ✅
    - Warrior class 10:45 ✅
    - groceries ✅
    - head to parents place
    - laundry and start cleaning
    - kids homework
    - movie night with kids
    - bed by 10

Have a lovely Saturday everyone x

    Scale goals
    End of 2017: 174.6
    End of 2018: 189.2
    January 2019: 186.0
    February 2019: 187.0
    Today: 190.4

    Ongoing plans/ideas behind the cut
    1. Purchases: Go to Mac store and see if they can retrieve the files off the iMac. Look for an "ugly Christmas sweater" and a long-haired doll at thrift stores. Practice French braiding. Go to used bookstore and look for Design for How People Learn (Julie Dirksen), On Writing (Stephen King), Dying for a Paycheck (Robin Hardman), The Prince (tr. Tim Parks, Russell Price, or Robert Adams), The Secret Adversary (Christie). Add lamp and wobble board to grocery list.
    2. E2: What should the controlling ideas be in a study of world literature? Review world lit options. Create vocabulary lists for each unit that come from the texts used: Animal Farm, Julius Caesar, Wes Moore, I Am Malala. Find a way to incorporate changing words from one part of speech to another. Students need to know how to review multiple sources and synthesize information in order to draw a conclusion. Need practice with the difference between transitions and overlapping (at end of paragraph - "another issue is Y" vs "there are other issues besides X"). Quit using "in conclusion" and "I believe" and other writing-about-my-writing phrases. Confusion between direct/indirect objects and prepositional phrases. Use the UDHR and the Declaration of Independence to study paraphrasing; use that to front-load Machiavelli and how to deal with challenging texts. Confusion between everyday / every day and similar constructions.
    3. E1: Need practice with quoting & paraphrasing sources, identifying claims that would need support, use of last names for reference, and capitalization practice (common/proper nouns, titles). Difficulty using possessive nouns in their own writing. Honors: practice subject/object pronouns (my friend and I / my friend and me). Poetry: Revise "Songs are Poetry" handouts.
    4. Curriculum Development: Writing mini-unit. Review scholarly research on 5PE. (I think I can have this as an intro to the research unit so that they also get exposure to how quotes are integrated and cited.) Parallel structure; use of emotional language, specific detail. Use "Write About a Pebble" lesson from Atwell. How long should each unit take? Do research on characteristics: curiosity, persistence, resilience, creativity, responsibility, optimism, courage, integrity, authenticity, leadership, self-awareness, humility, compassion - others? Include grammarly check on essays! Review assessments. What is the purpose for each unit? What should the controlling ideas be in a study of world literature? Review world lit options.
    5. Professional Development: Write blog post weekly. Comment on 3 posts each week -Tu Th Sun? Check with PSC. Talk with Z about articles and/or conference proposals.
    6. Medical: Dentist. Onco. PCP. Call to set up checkups with Dass (October). GET MAGAZINES FOR COLLAGES FROM DOCTORS.
    7. Theater: Audition for Mamma Mia??? House Mgr next Friday.
    8. House: Mineral oil on tile spots. Check with D about ceiling and taking items to the dump.
    9. Fun: Open beading on Thursdays. Coloring at library on Tuesday.

    WFTY: Climbing.
Positive thought: Caught up with my fitness plan by doing my moderate run AND lifting yesterday. Go me!

Oooo. It is supposed to POUR all day tomorrow. Maybe I should send the husband for groceries while I go to the Y today...

@Snowflake1968 - WTG on the breathing!
@nlmackey98 - I'm glad to hear you're feeling better than you had been. Hopefully the appetite will ease up :)
@AJB1014 - It's hard when there's a parent's holiday and there's multiple sets of parents ;D We're trying to juggle plans for tomorrow too.

Update: Husband said yes! The only downside is that means I get the older car without working AC and the drive back after working out is going to be even less pleasant. Oh well - if that's as bad as it gets, this will be a lovely weekend!

Been sick since Thursday night. Friday I slept as much as possible and I hoping today is the last of this silly sickness. I'm going to spend the weekend recovering as much as possible. Today is my son's 17th B-Day and I have a Final Exam at 8 pm tonight, so we'll see how it goes.

I have the kids today while Lauryn is at work. I will finish her gifts and wrap them and have Jonah make a card for her. Michaela made one last weekend so I will give her an envelope to decorate today.

Today marks the 10th anniversary of me being smoke free. When I started that journey I swore I would never have another cigarette and that I wouldn’t gain weight when I did it. I didn’t gain the weight until three years later but I’m sure by my 11th anniversary I will be down. I have never had another cigarette.

Rodger woke me up early this morning and now has gone back for a nap himself. I may curl up on the couch, I still feel tired.

    Have a great day everyone.

I won’t be posting much for the next week. The surgery went well. It’s been about 24 hours and DARN the nerve block has worn off so I’ll be managing pain now. My hubby has gotten lots of healthy food for me. Not really hungry yet. Take care everyone

    1. No candy tonight :DWell I managed to stay away from the candy but ate 4 snack cakes...
    2. Wash the sandwich containers in the sink :)Ended up doing all of the dishes in the sink...and then made dinner so there are a few more in there that I have to clean
    3. Bag the dirty clothes for tomorrow :)Most of them. Got the rest in today and boy was it stuffed! Had trouble closing the bag!
    4. Make the skillet meal that's in the freezer :)Very tasty but went right through Matt. *sigh*
    5. Hang out with Matt :)We both just hang out on the couch
    6. Drink 4 water bottles/ cups of water :)WAAAY more. Probably closer to 7 or 8. And each refill of the bottle was 24oz. I was in the bathroom A LOT.

Had a decent night last night. Matt woke me up with coffee this morning. He snuck out of bed and woke me up with a freshly made cup. He makes it really well. Lol. And then we cuddled on the couch for like an hour and a half watching baseball. I kinda was in and out of dozing. It was really nice. So I'm thinking today will be a good day.

Reigned in my people pleasing yesterday. Told mom sorry, but I cant do the game on such short notice but we will still have our sleepover. She of course is fine with that and totally understands. DH appologized for his attitude yesterday morning. Realizing more every day i cant control a situation only my reaction to it.

Glad to hear that your mom is understanding about it! Are you going to... the greenhouse, I think?

I made this for Michaela to give Lauryn for Mother’s Day. Lauryn opened it and said that she doesn’t think they make coffee strong enough. Michaela made and designed the frame herself including picking out the picture to print. That will be opened tomorrow.vsm7szdxx4rk.jpeg
