Cathi, you’re making great progress! Keep up the good work!2

Hey all - keep at it, whether losing or maintaining - or even barely maintaining when you should be losing (me), it is so much better than the gaining alternative 😉 and we know we are eating healthier, so that's always a plus!
Ann, your river looks like a lake in that picture, reflecting the sky like glass! Beautiful.4 -
@AnnPT77 Gorgeous pic of your River.1

maintaining weight is always better than gaining, no matter what weight you are. It's important to learn how to maintain. I maintained 198 lbs for years before I started losing1

Hello! I’m 62 years young and have decided to battle the bulge I’ve gained from too much good food here in Portugal. I’ve started intermittent fasting 16:8 and am down 2.3 kilos/5 pounds. About 9 kilos/20 pounds more to go. I’ve also started walking more seriously about 11.5 km/5 miles most days. There are plenty of hills and ocean walks to keep me busy. I look forward to meeting others in search of a healthy, sustainable way of managing weight and keeping fit into our golden years.6

Greetings, seasoned citizens. I have been away for too long.
Not much new here. My wife's cancer has been in remission for 22 months and she is generally in a better mood. Still drinking, sadly, but that will never change.
Gained about 12 pounds over the summer. Finally got the scale moving in the right direction again in the last two weeks. You know how that goes. 😁
I'm going to try to be more active here again. It does help me stay on track.13 -
Welcome back Steve!0

Hey, @alteredsteve175, it's great to hear from you: I'd been wondering recently how you'd been doing!
You are still fighting the good fight: Good show. It will be good to hear from you a bit more often, so welcome back!3 -
Hello! I just discovered this group this evening while stumbling around the forums looking for a place to land. I’ve been tracking food and exercise here for about six months but would really like support and encouragement from others. I’m 73, have lost 40 pounds and want to lose at least 20 more. My main health issue is a recent diagnosis of stage 3a kidney disease, which means I must limit protein, potassium, and phosphorus. I do 90 minutes of water aerobics and water jogging three times a week and try to walk the other days. I look forward to meeting all of you!6

Welcome @KerryBSoCal, @Ladydimadison, and anyone else who has posted or is lurking lol - post away with thoughts, comments, questions, updates, gripes, celebrations, whatever is on your mind and you'd like to share!
Great, diverse group here brought together by our pursuit of healthy aging.5 -
I've lost a couple of pounds recently (since vacation) and am back in the "decade" I was at the beginning of the year - my revised goal is to get down to the next decade to welcome in next new year!
Lame-o granted, slow progress... absolutely, but I am still in the game so don't count me out 😜. Doing this FOR LIFE after all.
PS:
At this rate I will be at a reasonable weight in my 70s...which is better than some of the alternatives...5 -
@BCLadybug888 confirmed lurker here, just turned 70… 😱 Yes, considering the alternatives…3

Don’t you just hate being lapped by the
20-50 something’s on our fitness/weight journeys? Sometimes I just want to be the rabbit and win the race!2 -

Hey Kerry! Understand where you’re coming from. I celebrate their success and keep plugging away. It’s a marathon not a sprint.

Hi- just returning to MFP after a year. after regaining the 20 lbs I lost 2 years ago... I am 66 and need to get a handle on the yoyo that I keep doing to myself. I'm glad I found this group, I need accountability!

Thank you Kerry! You'd think by this time in my life I'd know how easy it is to slide back into self-defeating habits.2

I know what you mean. I gained twenty pounds during the lockdown and while looking after her until she passed. Fortunately, I lost the weight but am trying to lose more. What does your fitness plan look like?1
