SW: 236.8 ~ UGW: 180
JANUARY GOALS: Lose 10 pounds and 3 inches
01/13 ~ 223.0 @ 8:00am - Off to a good start!
01/14 ~ 222.2 @ 6:00am – yayyy, but also kinda skeptical ~ I keep looking over my shoulder for all the chips this weekend, lol ~ I did however, SLEEEEP for a solid 10 hours which I haven't done in months. Have a great week Fit Fam!!
01/15 ~ 223.8 @ 6:45am - been eating pretty lightly past few days so hoping it's just remnants from a heavy meat dinner last night. Ate and went to bed late, so thinking my body didn't have enough time to "clean sweep" so to speak. If I'm right should see a drop tomorrow. 🤞
01/16 ~ 223.0 @ 6:45am - 🙏 ~ back on track, but uuggghhh can still feel and see it in my belly. And even though was well within calories, all those Terra Blues Chips and red meat the past few days have turned into a 2-day set back and another lesson learned. Will definitely think twice next time!
01/17 ~ 219.0 !!!!! @ 5:30am - almost fainted.
01/18 ~ 218.8 @ 6:00am Horribly stressful day yesterday and another rough day ahead ... alcohol is an "absolute" certainty this evening.
01/19 ~ DNW or log or do anything nutritionally productive.
01/20 ~ 218.0 @ 11:30am - glad to see .... have been helping extended family sort a personal crisis the past few days and feeling a tiny bit run down. Yesterday I had to unexpectedly shop for, clean cook and help host a get together for 10 until 3:00am. Today will be 3 days without working out and my IF schedule is completely shot!! Going to need rest of the day to get back in the swing of things.

Jan 14 Decided I needed a reward (I never use them, but this seems to be the time to do so.) : When my weight is 153.2 or less for 7 days in a row, I will get a pair of new jeans, a new bra, and a top. 6/6 ❣❣❣❣❣❣️
1/16 Thought it would take a week or more to get back to153.2. Glad I’ve been able to take myself out of eating out... becoming more optimistic.
This goal has really helped me get back on track! I’m only eating what I can track exactly.

You have accomplished great things with your health. Do keep this in mind! You are winning the war, if not each day’s battle! You are stronger & more robust than you think9 -
RSW 179.8 I worked too hard to get out of the 180"s to let this go on any longer.
1/13 178.2 partly water woosh, partly late weigh in - still a long way to go to get get back to my recent low.
1/14 177.6 more woosh! So many posts! It is great to have so many companions on the journey. Its a bit like a pilgrimage, except that when we get where we're going (Santiago maybe?) we will want to stay.
1/15 176.8 more woosh! lots of walking yesterday and lots of water.
1/16 176.6 So the woosh is done. Now it is time for the slow and steady. I will be attending Mass this afternoon and will remember this group in my prayers.
1/17 177 bounce! my kitchen is still in mid-reno, so it was pizza for dinner last night. I haven't been able to do detailed tracking but it has been kind of a nice break from that. I am ready to get back to it when I get my kitchen back.
1/18 176.2 This is especially nice as I was expecting a gain due to too many salted almonds. I have an event tonight - I will try not to get carried away.
1/19 175.8 Another nice surprise! I did well at my event but caved to LNS when I got home. Plan today is 2 hour open invite workout at DS TaeKwonDo school - if the weather does not get too bad. We are getting lots of snow this weekend. It has already started several hours sooner than forecast.
There are so many posts - I am having trouble keeping up - but I am very happy to see you all here.
1/20 DNW I am really proud of myself. I did the whole 2 hour Tae Kwon Do training. I was definitely the oldest and the heaviest person there - I was partnered with a lady who is more than 20 years younger than me, but I kept up with the class and did not need any extra breaks. I did have to modify some exercises as I don't have the flexibility for some of them. Afterwards my knees were a bit sore and I was very hungry - but I had fun (and did not embarrass DS1 too much). Last night DS2 was having a rough time so I was very late to bed and slept until noon today. So I missed church and my weigh in. Lots to do today -my new cupboards are installed in the kitchen - now I need to clean them and start putting things away.

25th Round for me: Female 65, height 5’
In for another round. I think I'm back to some consistency after subbing work in Nov. and holiday food. Hoping to see a solid loss.Round 39 (1st for me) – SW 163, -.2Goal this round: To get out of the 160’s or at least consistently not above 160. I was down here in Oct. and having so much trouble getting back there. Right now even ½ lb. per round would seem great. My short term goal is to be down at least 6 lb. by the end of March. That is just .8/Round but for me would be great progress.

01/13 – 162.2 – Thought I had a loss in Round 64 but actually a big blip up and then went down but in the end – a tiny gain. Shows the value of this challenge, I see what’s really happening.
01/14 – 162 – Yesterday not a bad day calorie wise but very sedentary. Off to the gym here shortly and a busy day.
01/15 – 161.8 – So happy with this. A little “finishing supper late” when I got home at 10:00 last night as I had to rush out the door to a meeting but quit before it became a snackfest.
01/16 – 161.8 – Not sure this will stay, long day yesterday and went about 200 cals over but off to the gym today so maybe that will work it off.
01/17 – 162.4 – Third day of having a little snack in the evening – 2 cookies, 150 cal.- and here we are. Feeling behind and a little ??? about my friend – I didn’t even realize I was wondering ‘what’s up?’ with the friend until I looked at my eating pattern and saw that I was going downhill since Monday. So glad I realized that and can deal with it head on instead of stuffing it.
01/18 – 162.8 Good cals & no LNS yesterday.
01/19 – 162.2 Cleaning house today, which will get in some movement – still hoping to do a few exercises at home as well. Went to the gym yesterday but was very late getting there. So, for the first time, just did the cardio and a few of the mat exercises. Usually I tell myself I’ll cut it short but I never do even though it throws my day off. Then the next time I’m running late I don’t go at all. Proud of myself for keeping my day in mind and not deceiving myself into thinking I can stretch time to fit in all my wishes. That just ends in a crash and burn evening.
01/20 – 162.4 – a little over yesterday as was hungry in the evening and had banana, skim yogurt and a sprinkle of choc. chips. I think the blip up is more likely our saltier supper. Tried a new seasoning recipe for meat and cut the salt by more than ½ and it was still too salty for me. Otherwise a good recipe.

@quiltingjaine thanks for the reminder, two days previous I stayed under calories and supposedly (according to my fitbit) burned over 1000 throughout the day. That may be the reason I lost. Do you think it would be smarter, from now on to look at everything from a 2-3 day perspective rather then a daily one?

01/13 143.8 a slight bump up, yesterday was hard. A big family breakfast and dinner and although I started out great, by the end of the day I gave in after dinner to snacks. Sheeeeesh! This is getting more and , more difficult as I go on. Work so hard to loose a little, takes nothing to gain a little. I am going to have to pre-plan for next week. I will schedule Saturdays as my rest day workout wise (there is no way to get around it) but my eating needs to be on point. I'm ok with a cheat meal here and there but it can't be on a day I don't work out
I
01/14 145.8 WHAT THE FUNK!!! I know this weekend was rough for me, I know I didn't workout yesterday, got minimal steps in and my eating wasn't the greatest but this is so dissapointing all the same. I want to say I deserve this but I also don't. I looked at my exercise log and noticed that I worked out for the last 8 days straight and managed to only maintain, yet I have two bad nights (not two whole days, just around dinner time) and my weight bumps up this much. I am getting so aggravated now. This was my number after 10 days of Christmas holidays...so like I said WHAT THE FUNK!! I am so grumpy today 😫😧
01/15 no weigh in. Woke up late jogged and some weight lifting yesterday but not much else
01/16 143.8 and back to my number at the beginning of the round. The past couple of days I have been grumpy and slightly depressed (besides this group I have been telling others I wasn't feeling well, it's so much easier then explaining depression). It demotivated me and although I did get a jog and some weight training in on Monday and yesterday had 90 min of volleyball, today I am determined to do my usual routine and get my butt back into it. I am finally sick of this number and am ready to change it. Yesterday I only got 4000+ steps (like I said wasn't feeling the greatest) but I did eat under calories and 2 liters of water. If I have trouble loosing by the end I am going to try the egg fast @deepwoodslady has been talking about.
01/17 144.4 did nothing to deserve this uptick, this is getting frustrating. +30,000 steps, worked out, ate under Calories and 1.8 liters of water. I am half determined and half annoyed. Why is this getting so darn difficult. Work out like crazy but only manage a maintain or smal gain😧😧 trying to keep my head on straight. I am usually an upbeat, motivated person but I do crash at times and when I fall, I fall. I am trying to keep going and not consintrate on the number too much. Wanted to be bellow 140s by the time my birthday hit but that came and went and I was fine.., then wanted to be bellow the 140s by my 9 year anniversary (Jan 23rd) but I am starting to think that won't happen and it is really concerning me. Sorry for whining. Just aggravated
01/18 143.6 and back down. I don't know if it's the time of the year because I had this same trouble last year around this time and maybe my body is just holding onto some fat in order to be betrer insilated for the winter. Today I realized this whole time I wasn't upset about not being able to loose, i was upset about trying so hard and to not see the scale budge at all, makes me wonder what would have happened if I wasn't trying. I guess I can finally answer the question about all the steady gains in my life and how I could have possibly let it get away from me. After these ten days it will be officially a month of no change. Thank gosh I feel better, over all when I workout or else I don't know if I would have continued sticking too it. I can feel the frustration, nipping at my willpower. My thoughts are, if I am going to gain anyway I might as well stop watching everything, weighing everything, using alternative methods for food....but I know I have to stop these thoughts dead, trying to remind myself it's about being healthy, weight loss is just the bonus. Once again sorry for the rant, i have been grumpy all week.
01/19142.0 Wow! That's all I have to say. My scale said 141.6 but after jumping on a couple more times, this came up. I am so confused, yesterday I ate so much food, I was so hungry it wasn't even funny. However I did work out good and got in a little over 17000 steps and drank 1.5 liters of water. I also took my measurements this morning and have lost 1/2 an inch almost everywhere so I am actually relieved and happy today with the results. I just hope they stick around or I can continue this steady drop over the next couple of days *fingers crossed*
01/20 143 I did this to myself. I had a great day but once UFC started and the food stated rolling in, I couldn't help myself. The only NSV here is it wasnt treats, chips, popcorn or pizza. Surprisingly it was the chicken and steak, mini, homemade, smoked kabobs that got me. It didn't kill my calories but it was eaten later than 7. So pretty much a late night snack. I was so excited to stay on the path after yesterday's weigh in but for some reason, every time I mention a drop in weight...or "killing it" I, on the same day tend to sabatoge myself. Ahh well. Today is a new day.

Round 65 SW: 216.4
1/13—216.6—Excellent. I was afraid yesterday's number was a fluke and that I'd bounce way high again. Yesterday, at the very end of round 64, I managed 31 push ups. I'm nearly 1/3 of the way to my end of year goal of being able to do 100 push ups in a single set. Losing more weight would likely help me with that goal!
1/14—219—Least shocking spike ever. I didn't eat well yesterday but had a true salt fest.
1/15—217—It'd be interesting to see where this number would be if I could stop eating salt-laden snacks. Bah!
1/16—218.4—I have no explanation other than a slightly earlier weigh-in. Huh! Still, I'm feeling pretty good.
1/17—218.2—Hmm hmm hmm. This round has been a puzzle. Work is very hectic right now, but I like being busy. I'm not eating terribly, but it's not spectacular either.
1/18—216.6—Back to the first day's weight. Yesterday, after I did another round of my push ups challenge, I realized that I had just done 100 push ups in around 10 minutes (they were staggered across 8 sets, with 1 minute breaks between sets). I'm getting close to my goal!
1/19—216—Still not a perfect eating day yesterday, but it was better! I've started a new 30-day Butt and Gut challenge. Not high-intensity but something to keep me doing some strength/core exercises every day.
1/20—216.6—The push ups challenge had me do 120 pushups in about 15 minutes last night. My arms felt incredibly weak after that! I went bowling this morning and I could feel some stress in my shoulders. I cut it short to be safe. But I bowled really well!

Nope, @Winner_in_Life, this is a no shame zone! Upticks in weight, bad days (or longer), frustrations, all are things we can learn from and help us grow as people. There's zero shame in that! You are awesome and you're doing a magnificent job changing your life.7 -
@MadisonMolly2017 You're doing great, and I love your excitement! Like following Christ, losing weight can have it's rough spots, but there's a lot of fun and excitement on the journey. For both, the end result is worth the effort and the rewards are great.
@Thewaffle86 Yes, I usually stay the same or gain after a long walk. You're arleady down over 5 lb. this round--great work! Persistence pays!
@deepwoodslady and @SheilaBoneham I'm waiting for the temp to climb before my walk. I'm cold with temps in the 50's. I would definitely stay indoors for temps in the teens.
@NormaV14 I'm right behind you to reach the 135 lb. goal. We've got this! You look more muscular than me in your profile pic. That's something I have to work on.

Back again for another challenge. Stayed at 150 something for the last 4 days of round 64. Looking forward to breaking into the new decade. My body seems to be having a pretty hard time of letting go of the 150’s. My round 64 end weight was 150.2. My goal for round 65 is going to be 148. Hopefully I see a nice whoosh in this round since last round I didn’t really get anywhere. Although I did get back to my pre-Christmas weight and had my lowest 10 day average so far. So I am taking those both as wins and moving on.
1/13 - 151.7 this must be the bounce from Friday nights beers and food. We were just celebrating it being Friday and being done with last week. Did well yesterday and plan on doing the same today. Probably will be back down tomorrow.
1/14 - 154.3 so my plan was going great until about 6 when we had some unexpected old friends show up. Drinks and a very late dinner. Water and a healthy lunch and dinner is what I have in store for today. I will be back down tomorrow. I always gain a couple of pounds after a night of drinking. I was really irritated with my results last week, so I was felling sorry for myself. Today I'm back on the wagon. Clean eating, lots of water, and no alcohol till Saturday.
1/15 - 151.6 and back down. Lol, did great yesterday. On track today so far. 2 of my kids had dentist appt yesterday, the other 2 had them today. Didn’t get fast food for myself either day. So that’s a win. Yesterday was the last time I will have to accompany my 2nd oldest to an appt. He will be 18 in a couple of weeks, so another win for this week. 2 kids over the age of 18 (in 2-1/2 weeks) and 3 to go. It goes by so quick I swear. Now if I could just see a 140 something on the scale this week it would be a 5 star win!
1/16 - 148.9 I finally got the whoosh I had been waiting for. I'm sure I will bounce around here for a week or so, but that's fine. I am just happy I finally made it in the new decade. I have been trying to do this since the middle of December. Made my goal this round, so I am just going to try and maintain and be grateful. Also this means I have officially lost 30 pounds. Took me almost 7 months, but I made it. So my new goal this round is to get well acclimated in the 140's and not go past 149.9 again. Yeaah!
1/17 - 149.6 I stepped on the scale a couple of times this morning. I got this number twice and 148.9 twice. I will have to clean underneath it and reset it when I get home. Just didn't have time this am, kids were not cooperating with me and I was trying to put dinner in the crock pot so I didn't have to deal with that tonight. So I am going with the bigger one just in case. I'm still happy it is in the 140's and I actually expected it to go up anyways. Had a larger dinner than usual last night and for some reason I was starving all day yesterday. I also had a very big whoosh the day before, so figured it may bounce around for a couple of days. Still happy and excited I finally made it.
1/18 - 148.9 good day yesterday and all set for today. Mon-Fri are so easy to stay on track for me. It's the weekends that just get all messed up for me. DH works tomorrow so just planning on cleaning and getting the shopping done for the week. Happy with my progress this round so far. If I can maintain and finish around 148.xx I will take it as a win.
1/19 - 148.2 A little surprised. May have a bump up tomorrow. Had a couple of beers with DH, then a couple of mini size butterfinger bars after dinner last night. I was still under calories, but beer always seems to make me gain a little bit the next day. I had a terrible day at work and didn’t really eat anything. My calories were under 400 at 6 last night. So it just seemed like I had the munchies all night. I like the downward trend I have seen this week and today. I will accept it if it goes up a bit tomorrow. Crazy we are almost done with another round already.
1/20 - 150.6 watched ufc fights last night and ate everything in site. Also drank a lot. I just can not keep it together on the weekends. Plan for today no alcohol, drink lots of water, and not eat everything and anything I can.

My 26th round!
OSW: 186 (March 2018)
UGW: 144-146
Pre challenge weight loss: -12 lbs.
Challenge weight loss R40 – R64: -29 lbs
My tax season starts this round which means I'll be working weekends and roughly 12 hours a day. Clients bring us goodies and the owner of the CPA firm often buys us lunch and dinner. I'm going to use this round to figure out exactly how to maintain my weight while being tempted by donuts, cookies, pizza, etc. It's almost as bad as the holidays!
R65 SW: 145
Day/Weight/Comment
01/13 - 144 - I'm very surprised! Due to my sodium yesterday and today, I'll bet it goes up tomorrow, but I'm very happy today. I've also got my lunch and healthy snacks packed for tomorrow.
01/14 - 146 - Here's the sodium! I'll be drinking plenty of water today.
01/15 - 147 - Wow, I did not want to post this, but facing this is what has kept me on track the last 8 months. My daughter stopped by last night so I had an extra glass of wine with her and I ate leftovers from Sunday for dinner, which did not help with my water weight. I have supper plans with my my golf league tonight at an Italian restaurant, so tomorrow is probably not going to be any better. But, it is my last night out with the ladies until tax season is over in April, so I'm going to go and enjoy myself. I'll just have to work really hard this next week to get my weight back down.
01/16 - 146.5 - I had a great time last night and managed to stay just under maintenance calories for the day.
01/17 - 145.5 - I slept well last night and got plenty of water yesterday.
01/18 - 145.5 - I did not sleep well last night. We've got a winter storm hitting my area tomorrow and my car started flashing a check engine light along with traction control failure lights on the way home last night. I can't take off work today because of tax season so I drove in this morning with the lights. I've got to work some hours tomorrow before the storm hits, so I'll have to juggle dropping off the car at the garage and borrowing my husband's car to drive in to work. My daughter and her boyfriend are driving south to WV to see an indie rock concert this weekend, so I'm a nervous wreck about them driving through this storm. These are the types of triggers that can cause me to stress eat, but I'm more aware of them now and as many of you have said, eating is not going to fix anything. I hope all of you have a good weekend!
01/19 - 145 - I did not stress eat yesterday! My daughter elected not to go to WV due to the weather and the mechanic should be able to fix my car this morning while I'm at work. I'm going to work a few hours and try to get home before the snow hits our area.
01/20 - 146 - I did not have enough water yesterday. We stayed sitting by the fireplace most of the late afternoon and evening watching the snow and enjoying some coffee and wine.

MFP SW 12/1/18- 172.6
R65 GW-162
Goal Weight - 120
01/13 164.1
01/14 163.5- It was nice to see the 163s again since I was at 163.7 on Wednesday (my weekly check in date), but moved up to the 164s again from Friday-Sunday. I lost 8 pounds easily since 12/1, but lately have gone to a 1.1 average on Happy Scale. Hope to move that closer to 1.5 lbs this round.
01/15 162.7- My goal for today is to complete a 45 minute spin class, eat well, and drink more water. Yesterday, I only drank 48 oz and woke up thirsty. It is raining here, so I might not be able to get to 10,000 steps. As long as I hit 70,000 for the week, I will be happy. Tomorrow is my MFP weigh in date, so hoping to be under last week's 163.7 weigh-in.
01/16 163.4- I was hoping for a larger loss than .3 lbs this week, but at least the weight is going down and still have an overall rate of 1.48. Today I have a Basic Strength class that I started going to last week. I had never done step before and it pushed me out of my comfort zone. I was sore for two days after last week's class, so hoping my body reacts a bit better today.
01/17 162.9- Loved being under 163 this morning! The exercise class yesterday was hard, but I am not as sore so going to get a 45 min cardio machine workout in if it doesn't rain too much. Tonight, I have a wine tasting fundraiser so have to be very careful on calorie counting and water intake.
01/18 161.6- Even though I know this is an outlier, it is still fantastic seeing a whole new number! I am feeling a bit under the weather today so will skip the gym today, but still hope to get to 10,000 steps.
01/19 162.0
01/20 162.6 I have a guest from out of town and took for granted how hard it is to eat out every meal. Tomorrow we are going to a spin class and meal schedule returns to normal on Tuesday, so just hoping to still see a 162 on Tuesday.

**Round 65**
Heaviest Weight: 235 lbs/106.6kg (February 7th 2018)
Smallest Weight: 175 lbs/79.4kg (March 2009)
First Goal Weight: 220 lbs
Ultimate Goal Weight: 185 lbs
R65 Starting Weight: 105.8kg/233.2 lbs
R65 Goal Weight: 103.9-104.3kg/229-230 lbs
Daily Goals:
Drink 90-120oz of water daily; consume 1300 cal (amended) and measure food; no added sugars/sweeteners; around 1500mg sodium intake max; get in 5000+ steps daily; do chi gung; sleep more than 6 hours nightly!
Day/Weight/Comment
01/13: 233.2 @ 5:30am - Light eating much of the day which 'justified' eating some pizza for dinner. Water intake was good and I got a nice amount of sleep! Tomorrow should be much more organized, so I'm expecting better results in terms of meeting my daily goals.
01/14: ??? - Woke up later than anticipated and started working from home right away, so I missed the weighing window I've established. Healthy breakfast and lunch, but less meals, less steps, less water, and a lack of measuring for meals all probably did not serve me well. I'm going to look to have my meals prepped and measured out, and remember that starting (or restarting) a process like this can have growing pains even if you've done it before!
01/15: 234.8 @ 6:50am - This was not surprising, but no less unwelcome. I did start my morning off with water, measured meals for the day, and an agenda for the day that includes some walking. Surely enough, I had a really good day that had me meeting all of my goals (except my water intake), almost hitting 10,000 steps, and feeling really good if a tad hungry/crave-y!
01/16: 234.2 @ 7:05am - Glad to see things going in a good direction after a (almost) fully disciplined day! This was a very good day that saw me slightly under steps and almost completely absent water (busy work day). I was still cognizant of getting movement in throughout the day, hit all my other goals, and have entered the craving-free zone that I was waiting on. I'm excited now!
01/17: 231.8 @ 6:45am - Whoosh! Today things were absolutely on point. 7500+ steps, 94oz of water, meals measured and eaten (which automatically controls the sodium/sugar if I don't go off plan), a great amount of sleep, and continuing to make good decisions regarding fitness. Life is more than a little wonky this week, and/but this seems to be one of the things that is coming around and providing positive change. Let's keep it going!
01/18: 231.2 @ 7:05am - great day overall! Trying my first modified diet day to allow me to eat with the family for Shabbat dinner, so we'll see how this affects things with my numbers.
01/19: ??? - got derailed by home goings-on when I tried to weigh myself, and messed around and ate breakfast before I realized I'd forgot to finish! Another modified diet day for Saturday to allow for a post-service meal with the family.
01/20: 235.2 @ - I didn't want to two days without weighing myself, even though this is likely skewed by uneliminated food and water, and recently consumed meals. Even when it is off due to timing, it helps me to make adjustments! Let's see what happens with the rest of the day!

2nd round here we go
OSW 6th Jan 2019 88kg
RSW 85.1kg {- 2.9kg or 6.4lbs}
RGW 83.5kg
01/13 85kg I made my 3kg in my 1st week which makes me so happy. Now not to give up when it slows down! I'll keep on logging everything and keep to my Keto macros.
01/14 85kg still in the green for calories and macros. Dogs my morning run after sedentary Sunday.
01/15 84.9kg scale give me 2 different scores so I took the highest. Still going strong with everything. Tried the push ups but could hardly do level 1 even on my knees! Will keep at it. All Christmas wrought gone... Now to lose the last long vacation weight!
01/16 84.5kg still all green. A short fast (for me!) run this morning and I did my evening workout last night. I really loathe burpees.
01/17 84.1kg this makes me very happy! Stayed in the green. Dry January going well and did the strength training... Working up to the push ups!
01/18 84.1kg short morning run done and exercise last night. Stayed in the green. Feeling positive!
01/19 84kg it's coming off slowly. Official weigh in tomorrow. Still keeping it green, loving everything and exercising on the evening... Still not liking burpees!
01/20 83.8kg. 1.2 kg down for the official weigh in. Squeezed the exercise in despite my football (soccer) watching commitments. Running tomorrow.
01/21 84.1kg a blip up for no reason so no worries... It will come off soon. Kept it all green and doing exercises. 3km run this morning despite the rain, soggy shoes and a fall.

UGW - 215
Day/Weight/Comment
01/13:235.5. I ate 2100 calories. Today was a rest day from lifting weights, but I still walked for 60 minutes. Still struggling to get my daily calories into a lower range. When I first started dieting a few years ago, it was very easy for me to only eat 1500 calories per day. I’m not sure what happened to that mindset.
01/14: 235.5. I did much better with dieting today. 1600 calories. 40 minute workout and 60 minutes walking.
01/15: 235.0. 1950 calories. 35 minutes lifting weights and 70 minutes walking.
01/16: Didn't weigh today. 1900 calories. 60 minute walk.
01/17: 235.0. It was a really long day, so I ate more than usual because I was awake for so long. Probably around maintenance for calories and I walked 90 minutes.
01/18: 235.0. 2200 calories. 35 minutes of lifting weights. 60 minute walk.
01/19: 235.5. 45 minute workout.
01/20: 235.5. 2200 calories. 60 minute walk.

Boy my day did not go to plan yesterday. So I blame TOM and stress eating on the 1000cals I ate in snacks.
Today is a friend's birthday and a last min plan to go on a game drive. That will be great, but means estimated food, probably alcohol and not my planned day of gym, work and relaxing, hence more stress.
But i'll enjoy it and get back to the plan on Monday.

01/15 71.6 (-0.5) yoga
01/16 71.7 (+0.1) yoga
01/17 71.8 (+0.1) nothing
01/18 71.6 (- 0.2) yoga, no run
I'm back, I had to take a minute away from this. My week was very stressful at work and I just couldn't stop myself eating far too many calories each day until I stopped counting on Wed. It was stressing me even more. I now realise I don't just stress-eat, I also stress-shop. Which meant I had things at home that I didn't want to be eating but of course I did. My will power had gone out the window.
But it's time to get a grip, I only have two weeks left in this job and then a much needed holiday. Only 9 days until DH arrives, I really wanted to be below my weight from when I left the UK, but that may be a stretch now. I'll catch up on posts over the weekend - 470 posts - and try to get back into a more controlled eating pattern...
01/19 71.2 (-0.4) yoga&walk (treadmill&outside)
Now after my resolve to be back, I gave up on counting last night because my day took a positive turn: I got offered a job I really, really want I only interviewed on Wed, so was not expecting a response so fast. It would mean a lot of life changes, so not a quick decision. I went out to celebrate and skipped the treadmill. I'm paying for it with a headache today and am walking on the treadmill as I write this. The loss has nothing to do with good choices, but probably the iffy tummy from the emotional rollercoaster this week (and drinks last night).
Anyway, I finally ordered a fitbit yesterday, decided on the Charge 3 after watching reviews on Youtube. I had never done that before, it was so helpful, especially the things people didn't like about the ones I was considering. I'll get it when DH arrives - 8 more sleep
01/20 70.8kg (-0.4) yoga&run planned yoga & run & walk
Okay, that's a nice surprise and very motivating.
I walked 6.5km on the treadmill yesterday and my phone step tracker says over 10k steps, but I think some of that on the treadmill. I don't have a car this weekend, so walked to the gym and shops. Went over cals quite a bit, but still acceptable given that it I was a little hung over. Today, I already did my yoga, and will run on the treadmill after I've done some work. Still no car, so walking to gym and shops.
Thank you for all the hugs on Friday (only sat that now), I appreciate this group so much, it certainly keeps me coming back when I get distracted and lose my healthy ways.
kmfeig87 thank you!
I read (listened to) this article yesterday and thought I'd share. It's also available as a podcast. Very interesting points on sedentary time. https://www.theguardian.com/news/2019/jan/03/why-exercise-alone-wont-save-us
01/21 70.6kg (-0.2) yoga done & treadmill planned
Good day yesterday, finally had that bagel i'd been craving since last round. That was within calories and after 95mins on the treadmill. I also bought a piece of cake because it looked just too good. I only had a couple of bites and decided it wasn't worth the estimeated cals. I also made it a point to get up more frequently after that article. I went over by about 250, but I must have burned around 900, so that was ok. I will stay on track today and hope to finish work on time and get to the gym so I can end this round lower than I ended R64 (70.9) - all depends on having a car and the rains and work as I only have 10 working days left, *panic*

@GrandmaJackie thanks for round 66.

01/13 - 131.9 (Yesterday was cheat day. The eating was not pretty. I'd felt pretty deprived on strict keto for 10 days. worked out and maintained good water levels. But back in the game today.)
01/14 - 131.6 (Good day of eating)
01/15 - 131.6 (Worked out hard, kept my carbs under 20g and calories under 1400. Drank 3l or water.)
01/16 - 130.6 (Worked out hard, kept my carbs under 20g. In the middle of monthly bloat)
01/17 - 130.8 (Not a number I like, but staying consistent)
01/18 - 130.4 (lowest weight of the year - 19 days As long as at can hit that milestone each month, am going to try to not let actual scale numbers drive me crazy)
01/19 - 129.4 (My weekly cheat meal today. Hopefully it doesn't turn into cheat *day*, which it has been known to do. This is actually my goal weight for the round. I want to be under 130, so I am back to the weight I was exactly a year ago)
01/20 - 129.8 (Had my cheat meal yesterday. First time the result from that has been under at least two extra kilos. I did 2 x 15 min cardio workouts and 30min of weights.)
01/21 - 130.2 (hm 🤔. Maybe too much sodium in my bone broth?)

I’m in! For the first time.
Height 5’7.5
SW 245.2
Day/Weight/Comment
01/13 245.8 - not sure what happened here as I ate within my calories. I’m sure it must be water weight or something but onwards and upwards (or downwards!) Going to start my couch to 5k today so will see what happens.
01/14 245 - went for my first run well jog /walk and I was exhausted. I feel so much better now I’m exercising. Food wise I was on track and really trying to whole foods only with no added things.
01/15 243.6 - nutrition was on point yesterday. I’ve really noticed how sweet natural food is tasting. I did roast veg yesterday and the onions were like candy! Who would have thought it. Love them. Of for my second run/jog later and actually looking forward to it!
01/16 242.8 - that's 13.6 lbs in 2 weeks! I am super happy and can't wait to see what happens next. I also did my second day of couch to 5 k and managed to run/walk my way around 3k. Eating was on track and my jeans are even starting to feel loose.
01/17 241.2 - wow how did that happen! Smashed through the first stone. Have loads more energy and also got super motivated by all the before and after pictures. Everyone is so motivating and positive on here.
01/18 241.2 to be honest I’m happy it just hasn’t moved usually after a big loss I go up. Not this time! I did my 3rd day of couch to 5k and beat my time the day before (they are exactly the same). I never realised i could like exercise and thought running was a big no but I LOVE the sense of freedom. Food was a bit all over the place yesterday but still stayed within my calories so happy overall. Good luck weighing in everyone!
01/19 240.2 ate really well, got slightly less steps in than usual but still well over 10,000. Really want to get into the 230’s for this round. Saturday is usually harder to get my steps in so doing w2d1 of couch to 5k today and then going to try and encourage my husband to go out and be more active.
01/20 240.2 food was good and got over 10K steps in but less than usual. Does anyone else find the days after they exercise they weigh more/the same and the days after nothing they loose??? Also changed my name from “fighting the fat” as I felt it was too negative. I’m not fighting anyone just trying to be more body positive and healthier. My offer half calls me Waffle hence the name.
01/21 239.4 Yay!!! Into the 230’s and never want to see the 240’s again!! I swear on rest days I loose more. Food was good, had my little niece over who is adorable. Didn’t quite hit 10000 steps though but will make up for it today. I’m so excited. That’s 17lbs in 19 days. 👉💪🏃🏼♀️😇😎 This challenge is just what I need. It gives me a lot of accountability and I love reading what everyone has been doing.
01/22
PS love this challenge. It’s really helping me focus!

Round 64 -|- End Goal: < 167
11/01: 166.7: Goals ✅ Went to a health seminar at our local state of the art leisure centre this afternoon. They had a draw for ten x 10hr Boditrax courses at a 90% reduction (£30 instead of £300), and I won one of them. We get 10 weeks temporary membership at the centre, a Boditrax health/fitness analysis at the beginning, 10 x 1hr sessions with a personal coach, and another analysis at the end to see how we have done. It's just what I need to make the final, push to my Ideal goal weight.
12/01: 166.5: Goals One more lb of Xmas excess to discard. Out most of today with my DYD. It will keep me away from temptation.
Round 65 ~|~ End Goal: < 166
13/12: 166.4: Goals ✅ Stayed on track. NSV: Visited with DED and she had had baclava. I had two pieces, but declined any of the other goodies. Was under basic calories for the day! I normally eat back a lot of my exercise calories when we visit with them, as she and DYGS bake for our visit each week.
14/12: 166.4: Goals 😃 Delighted to have maintained over the weekend. ✅ Got my workout in early, and walked over 11,000 steps. Also had a decent deficit, food wise.
15/12: 166.2: Goals ✅ No time to do HIIT today. Had a few chocolates when at my crochet group, but still under goal.
16/12: 166.1: Goals ✅ Grocery shopping today, so lots of fresh fruit/veg for the days ahead.
17/12: 165.9: Goals Meh!!! I did really well right up until it was almost bedtime, then started snacking my way through my deficit. Stopped short of going over, which I wouldn't have done in the past, but Pringles and crackers were not my finest choices. I'm, frankly, amazed that I haven't retained more water with all that sodium. Still, just one bad day since New Year is an NSV, and a definite improvement on my track record. At least I have 5 days left to reach my round EW.
18/12: 166.0: Goals ✅ Had a busy day with Latin Study and Photography groups. Did 40 mins strength after dinner, and then caught up with my steps with indoor walking a la Leslie Sansone. 🤞🏻Just the weekend to get through. 🤞🏻
19/12: 165.7: Goals ✅ Worked about the house. Did 25 strength and some interval training. Had a 40g of popcorn while watching Harry Potter. Had a glass of wine with dinner.
20/12: 165.8: Goals ✅ Have already done 15 strength. Followed that with 40 HIIT, and a couple of short walks later on. Stayed well under calories.
21/12: 165.6: Goals 💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻 So pleased to have maintained over the weekend! A whoosh tomorrow would be the icing on the cake!

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.
