01/23 – 197.1 – back on track. Recorded all food and drank my water. No exercise though.
01/24 – 195.3 – so excited!! Recorded all food, drank my water, no alcohol, but didn’t exercise. I was very tempted last night with a glass of wine and my husband had a candy bar (offered me some too.)
01/25 – 196.0 – up some, but that seems to be a trend. Recorded all food (was over 6 calories), drank my water, no alcohol, and not exercise. I need to walk, but it’s so cold outside.
01/26 – 194.7 – YEA under 195. Still no exercise, but recorded food (and was under, but had a glass of wine) and drank all my water.
01/27 – 194.9 – I’ll take that. I had 2 glasses of wine, but still stayed below calories. Still no exercise, but drank all my water.
01/28 – 195.3 – I knew it was probably coming. I had bacon yesterday but stayed below calories and drank all my water. No alcohol or exercise. It I keep my salt low today maybe tomorrow will be better.
01/29 – 194 – YEA! Now the hard part. I’ll be out of town until next Monday. I need to eat right, try and exercise and drink my water.

I hit my “goal weight” around late November. I’ve managed to maintain around this weight since then. What I have realized though, is that I don’t think I would’ve been able to maintain without the daily accountability of this challenge. 01/23 - 145 – Back down again. I don’t have any real temptations (except for the full jar of candy bars at our office front desk) until this weekend. I’d like to drop a little before the weekend hits.
01/24 – 145 – I’ve done pretty well sticking to weight loss calories this week, so I’m hoping to see a little drop tomorrow.
01/25 – 145 – My husband and I have to grab carry out for supper tonight (we’re doing a lot of running around) so since I haven’t lost anything the past couple days, I’ll forego my favorite dish from the restaurant and order the healthier, lighter version.
01/26 – 144 – I’m a little surprised to see this because although I stayed within calories, we ate pretty late and I indulged in a shot of blackberry brandy to chase away the sub-zero wind chills we dealt with yesterday. @deepwoodslady and several others inspired me to shout a few dance tunes from the 80’s to my Alexa Echo and I danced around my kitchen for about 10 minutes while my husband showered. Maybe that’s what did it?
01/27– 144.5 – Today is my only day off and we have more running around to do today. Due to several issues going on right now, I’m going to do my best to stay within weight loss calories, but there will be a lot of eating on the run today.
01/28 – 145 – I made pretty good food choices yesterday, so the weekend fallout isn’t too bad compared to last week.
01/29 – 144 – I’m so glad to see this number on a Tuesday! I hope I can make it stick the rest of the week. I’ve been good avoiding all the tax season goodies that have come in the past week and are sitting on our lunch table. Here in NE Ohio we are preparing too for the -30 to -40 windchills over the next few days. I hope everyone else dealing with this stays safe!

1/24 - 205.1 - Reset button. Just a bad day. Bounce back today. That wake up to a 211 blood sugar will do that to you. Already did my 2.5 mile run on the treadmill this morning. It felt great!!! I will track every calorie today!
1/25 - 202.3 (1,700 calories, 11,538 steps) - Reset button worked. I was happy with the calorie number, but not happy with food choices. Need to do better. Very happy with the 2.5mile treadmill run. Let's get that again today. Good luck to everyone heading into the weekend!

1/27 - 203.4 (Did not track calories and steps) - It does get frustrating seeing the back and forth of the scale, but i am super happy I am staying in the 200-205 quadrant. 1/29 - 201.3 (Did not track calories, 11,519 steps) - Happy with the weight this morning. The darn dinner and night binge is my achilles heel. Need to conquer it! 01/29 197.6 NSV..yesterday was Teacher Appreciation day. I walked in to free Chcik fil a in the teacher's lounge, a cart of donuts wheeled to my classroom and a luncheon. I just had a half a chicken breast and some lettuce and veggies at the luncheon and resisted all of the other treats.
I kept tp my plan in the evening and walked 11,000 steps. Not much scale movement, but I'm sure it will come.

01/23 - 189 - Still fighting a cold but I am happy to say that I have reigned my cravings & portions back in. I am looking forward making some progress this round!
01/24 -187 - Finally seeing some results! My cravings for sugar are almost all gone at this point. The key is not to indulge because once I do it’s so hard to stop again.
01/25 - 186 - It’s so nice to see things moving in the right direction! I just have to continue drinking my water, watching my portions & avoiding sugar & carbs. I’m hoping to keep my focus through the “weakend”!
01/26 - 187 - Slight gain over yesterday’s weigh in & I’m quickly realizing it may be good to start tracking pounds & ounces as well. I’m not surprised by the gain since I indulged in some salted pistachios right before bed. Today will be better & I won’t be buying anymore pistachios! LOL
01/27 186.6 - Busy day & I just finally got around to posting this morning’s weigh in. The family & I had Chinese this afternoon so I’m expecting a small gain tomorrow morning. Otherwise the day was good - no carbs, no sugar.

01/23 - 207.2 (2004 steps) I did NOT want to adult on Tuesday. I called off work and just slept. The eating that I did do wasn’t recorded or measured. No exercise. No meal prep. Meh! Hope to pick myself back up and restart for Wednesday.
01/24 – 207.7 (3459 steps) I got back on track Wednesday. I went back to work and did a TON of meal prep when I got home. I cooked 4 pork chops, 3 round steaks, a package of large shrimp, and a package of scallops for a total of 11 meals to cover me up and thru the weekend. Today is a NEW day!
01/25 – 203.6 (5573 steps) 17 minutes on bike (3.81 miles) – Thursday was an awesome day. I wasn’t hungry. I didn’t snack. Work was stressful to the MAX but I did not ease that stress by eating. I actually allowed myself to have a pint of Halo Top ice cream and will ended up wayyyyyyy under my daily MFP calorie goal! (The shrimp/couscous concoction that I had prepped the other night might have turned out to be an epic fail, but I’m new to actually cooking so I’ll keep trying.)
01/26 - 203.6 (6200 steps) 30 mins on bike (6.44 miles) Friday is family dinner night and we went to Benny’s Pizza (local favorite). I managed to stay in the green on my calories. Good day. Dog sitting over Saturday night for my cousin. Packed a couple meals and I’m all set.
01/27 DNW (9402 steps) Saturday is barn day. Spent 5 hours on the road traveling. I probably got a good 45 minutes of exercise riding Spark (the gelding that I’m leasing). It was COLD! I packed a meal for dinner here at my cousin’s house. I stayed with her 3 dogs overnight. Unfortunately, I gave into LNS since she had cheddar popcorn and frosted mini-wheats. No scale here at her house.
01/28 – 203.6 (3815) Sunday was a relaxing day. No exercise but I kept within my calorie goal, right up until I went to bed. I’m not usually one to really care about the ups and downs from day to day but, I’ll say it’s nice to have seen the same # since 1/25.
01/29 – 201.9 (7762 steps) 35 mins of bike (7.69 miles) I had another great day yesterday. I was under on my calorie goal! I have more meal prepping to do tonight and I’ll be set for another 7 meals. I think doing that has saved me more than anything. I usually do both pork chops and round steaks that I buy at Aldi and pair them with either veggies or Knorr Rice sides. Yogurt and protein powder drink for breakfast most days.

01/26 207.8 I own it! As I said yesterday, last night was a splurge, and it was yummy. My son is working on a health project, and keep hearing him use terms like"good foods" and "bad foods" I want him to understand that You can be healthy, and still enjoy some sliders and fries once in a while, and not feel guilty! Also, that you are in control of your choices. I want him to see that I did not "blow" it, and that today, will continue to my journey of making good choices, and moving more. Weight/Shmeight....I am feeling pretty good right now!

Round 66: My focus is not breaking my tracking streak since 12/28 and being active every day in some way shape or form! Get up out of the chair from work, reading or tv and MOVE! Retiring Jan 31! Goal is to break into the next decade and make it stick.
1/23 - 240.9 - Last couple of days focused on water and staying within my calorie goal. Using Apple watch to remind me to get up from the desk chair and move each hour in addition to the daily walk.
1/24 - 239.6 - A new decade!!! Remember to never ever return to the 40s … you don’t like it there.
Recumbent bike indoors 20 min when raining. Frustrating day brother/sister inlaws ended with DH & I out for Italian & wine. Never a good thing but the food is tracked and now moving forward.
1/25 - 240.7 - I saw the 30s but it was touch and go! Work celebration and enjoyed chips & guac though no alcohol. Not enough water or exercise. Did walk down 6 flights of stairs at work instead of using elevator.
1/26 - No scale @ hotel. Planned hike 3 miles with my son & his Fiancee to Mount Bonnel then Bull Creek. Today’s total steps 14741! Always left half my food on plate at restaurants.
1/27 - No scale @ hotel. Walked with DH 3.5 miles to breakfast before long car ride.
1/28 - 239.1 - Got of of the 40s! Proud of my better eating & exercise habits when out of town dining out every meal this weekend! I was determined to leave the 40s behind for my official Monday WI.
1/29 - 239.1 - It stayed out of the 40s 2 days in a row!!! Frustrating day yesterday not getting out of my chair at work (last day with my computer for people to ask questions or obtain my files before retirement) and interactions with my sister in-law. Win is that I did not snack when stressed!

01/23 181.9 This is getting to be too much. In 20 days I'm down 1 pound. There is a part of me that thought I'd skip this round. It's too depressing for me when I'm eating within calories and staying focused on exercise with no weight loss. I honestly had one bad calorie day on Sunday, every other day I have been within goal. I keep expecting a whoosh that isn't coming. I need to accept I'm here - not at 178 like I was for a few days. Old Kris tells me to give up and eat whatever I want and how much I want. Screw walking, screw the gym, forget the stupid C25K idea you're too old, fat, out of shape etc. I need to slap the crap out of Old Kris (OK), because that's what I've done every time. Keep me accountable people. I need this challenge.
01/24 181.9 Still here. I walked three freezing miles yesterday and fell on the stupid ice. I'm not walking today, my body is a little sore. I fell on ice twice this week, I think that's a sign. Plus they have temperature warnings for this afternoon, frost bite can set in within 15 minutes of exposure. A good sign to take the night off. My calories were low yesterday, didn't eat back my exercise calories but over on sodium. I guess that's why I'm stuck. On a positive note, have you guys tried the Green Giant Fresh bowls? 01/28 179.6 Here we go again. I wasn't high on sodium for once and I was under calories (not by a lot but still). I think it will be down tomorrow. As long as it's done by the end of the round. I was happy to be out on the trail yesterday. I got in three miles but even on Sunday was running late. Trying to get too much weekend into one day. Saturday was spent babysitting my 1 yr old niece and attending a friend's granddaughter's wheelchair basketball game. I thought the baby might enjoy the game, instead she spent the entire time watching two kids play in the stands beside us. Hahaha If anyone has the opportunity to go to one of these games, they're not high scoring but they are fun to watch. Our girl is 10 and a blocking fool. On man-to-man coverage she blocked her guy in the corner, I don't think he touched the ball once. Of course she did the same thing on offense so she didn't touch the ball either
01/29 178.6 It was down tomorrow! I found an indoor track to walk on when the polar vortex is attaching the midwest. It's not as good as walking outside, but better than a treadmill. I did day 1 of week 2 C25K last night. I can't seem to do it straight through but have to stop the app and walk for about 5 minutes than start up again. But I ran the 90 seconds without stopping each round. I was surprised and kind of delighted. The really shocking bit, for myself, is I did this "running" (I jog - I have asthma and breathing issues) on an indoor track surrounded by people. They all saw me and no one stopped pointed and laughed. I actually passed people. Tonight is weight machines night. I look forward to it each week because it's kind of calming.

I am a 50 year old 5'5" woman. I am trying to get healthier to avoid diabetes and all of the problems that come from being overweight.
I have found this challenge to be both rewarding and frustrating! Looking at my weight daily has been a real eye opener to see all of the fluctuations and how a high carb day will affect me and the loss for 2-3 days after. I have been participating in this challenge since Round 40 My average loss/gain since Round 40 to 63 is a 0.5lb loss each round. This was better than I expected!

01/25 - So today I weighed in at 180. I did really good with my calories yesterday, and I worked out after work. Not really sure why the scale doesn't reflect the hard work, but then again I did have a little fried food for dinner
01/26 - 180.6 today. Yesterday was not great calorie wise & tonight I'm taking my mom to a seafood buffet for her birthday. I'll just start fresh tomorrow.
01/27 - 180.2. I did go to the buffet yesterday but amazingly I stuck to only one plate which I couldn't even finish & I didn't have drinks afterwards. I didn't keep track of my meals but I think I did ok in terms of calories. I didn't work out yesterday but today's a new day & I'm ready to start over again.
01/28 - 180.4 / I'm starting to feel really stagnant now. I'm just glad it's Monday because I tend to eat better on days that I work. Hopefully, I at least get down to 178 by the end of this challenge.

@MadisonMolly2017 Clothes shopping stinks. There is no “standard” in ready to wear! And bra shopping? DD#1 insisted that I needed new ones. I spent an hour or more getting measured and trying them on in October. 36DD!! Are you kidding? Whose boobs are these?? They only had 1 of the style that felt great so I got it - $70! I was going to order another but it seems they don’t make that one anymore! I usually buy inexpensive t-shirts at Walmart because I always manage to get oil or tomato products on them! Even within one brand, sizes vary widely. It’s so frustrating! And don’t get me started on things I have made from the major pattern companies! OY!! Sorry for the long post, apparently I needed to vent on this subject.7

01/23—216.8— Not an unexpected bump. I'm back to retaining water, have some digestive funkiness, and TOM looms. I didn't get 45 to continue to the next round of my push ups challenge, but I'm stoked because I got to 40. (42 if I count the two terrible ones at the end where I lost my form and nearly faceplanted.) So I went from 31 to 40 in ten days. Progress!
01/24—215.8—Had a lot of guesswork in my calories yesterday. I estimated high but lunch was plain chicken breast on plain salad. (I hate conference food!) Today will be more sedentary than yesterday, so I'll need to be mindful and keep moving.
01/25—216.6—TOM and non-ideal eating. Boo. I ate back all of my exercise calories, which I don't tend to like to do. I don't feel great, but I don't feel terrible either, which is a win!
01/26—217—This was after drinking a couple of glasses of water.
01/27—215.8—Late weigh-in. I felt really awful this morning so I went back to bed.
01/28—216.2—Rocky weekend for how I was feeling, but I ate well and got in a lot of moderate exercise minutes. I don't work for the US federal government, but a lot of my work is in reaction to what the federal government does, so it's possible this will be a real sprint of a week as the end of the shutdown might mean a ton of new things to respond to. Whee!
01/29—216.2—Still retaining some water. Yesterday was very quiet at work, which makes me nervous! I'm wearing pants today that gave me a muffin top the last time I was this weight (actually, I was a little lighter). No muffin top now! So things are shifting around. Continuing the push ups and Butt & Gut challenges. And I'm now in the habit of long stretches of medium intensity cardio. Not for weight loss but for cardiovascular fitness.

1/24: 198.2 - met, and exceeded, all my goals yesterday. Tried drinking 150oz of water, which is recommended for my weight by a lot of calculators, but had to get up 3x during the night, so I’ll stick with the 100oz still, which allows me to sleep through the night. I made oatmeal chocolate chip walnut cookies with the kids yesterday AM, and have so far resisted having one. Normally I would crave one for breakfast with my coffee, but sweet doesn’t sound *as good* in the AMs after trying to do high protein in the mornings for the last month (this is a great NSV for me!), and I know if I start my day with one, it could all go downhill fast. Also, I tried switching 1 of my coffees for 1-2 black teas over the past week, and I was getting headaches, so I am back to coffee with milk (the only time I ever get headaches, for the last 20 years, has been from lack of caffeine.)
1/25: 196.6 - whoa, totally unexpected, but I’ll take it! Had a stressful day, and got some very bad news. Hit all my goals, but didn’t eat nutritiously.
Also, today marks 1 month since I started. I’ve lost 14lbs total, have only had alcohol once (next round I’ll start adding it back carefully - I credit alcohol calories with a majority of my weight gain), feel like I mostly have a good and sustainable routine with getting to the gym (making it routine is always hard for me), and I have more energy in general. I think I’ve lost at least two inches off my waist, but I didn’t measure right away, so I won’t officially measure again until next week. My skin is the most noticeable difference too me - it looks great and glowing with all the water and workouts. This group has been super motivating and inspirational and I appreciate you all! Having a place to report in is definitely helping me stick to my daily goals more than I would have otherwise.
1/27: 197.0 - 😆 oh boy! This is why I didn’t change my goal weight for this round after getting in the 196.x. Was under calories yesterday, and had an extra active day with my kids (and a nap 🎉), but didn’t have dedicated exercise, only got 80oz of water, and my Fitbit needed to be recharged, so I imagine I was close on steps and calories burned but just don’t know for sure.
1/28: 197.2 - I expected this. Extra active day yesterday, hit all my goals, but food was high in sodium. Pre-made steak, chicken, and black beans to use for meals all week. I am feeling extremely anxious today about some projects I need to start/complete in the next day, so I hope I can handle them well. Hugs appreciated - my stomach is in knots over them.
1/29: 196.6 - Hit all my goals yesterday. Burned 1k on the elliptical according to Fitbit, without the gossipy neighborhood lady there to motivate me to work out hard 😆. Prepped lots of cut veggies and veggie dishes for the week, so should have very little food prep needed through the weekend. Still wracked with nerves about my projects.

01/28 …..186.7….. Fat is melting away in a slow drip but I’ll take it. All this new muscle movement in the dancing is likely adding a bit of water, but if it is needed for recovery or for muscle building I then that’s okay. I may have a cup or two of double threat water today using the Parsley sprigs & lemon. I had a Long work day yesterday but got in lots of steps, then a couple of sets of dancing later, some with son. Great numbers to report: 10 Net Carbs. 1040 Calories. I burned 2853 calories for the day. 22,158 total steps & 9.39 miles! Yay me! 13/13 step hours on fitbit. IF was at 21:3 because of late start eating & time restraints. I slept 5 hours 27 minutes. I danced for 150 minutes and my son danced 53 of them with me! I love it when I get to these strong points. It’s just a matter of getting through the weak ones first till you reach the other side! I hope this lasts awhile. 22 Net Carbs. 1264 Calories. I burned 2616 Calories. 16,584 steps & 7.05 miles. 13/13 step hours on fitbit. IF 16:8. I slept 4 hours 31 minutes. I danced 83 minutes. One of the songs was “Have you ever seen the Rain” by Creedence Clearwater Revival. It’s a bit of a different version on Alexa, but I like it. I played it on the warmup side of my set ( a couple of songs in the middle of the set are my fastest peak). I tried to get “When Doves Cry” by Prince but Alexa wouldn’t give it to me. Drats! I, too, want to see the EXACT difference in my weight from day to day. Also, I wanted you to know that I had 2 TBSP of PB last night (like I did a few weeks ago), regular creamy Jif. Last time I marched an extra mile for it. This time I danced an extra bit at 11:00 PM for it which was more fun & went by quicker . Of course, I saved room in my macros for it! I needed a little bit of a snack & the PB offered some protein, not just all sugar like a cheat treat. @shunggie Before I started going to the gym I was very self conscious, thinking people would stare and giggle. I was assured by the members of an exercise forum that those body builders are too busy admiring themselves in the gym mirrors. And if they did look at me they were thinking to themselves that it was good that I was taking care of myself by being there.
@deepwoodslady Donna, can you get Smucker’s Natural PB? NO sugar. I buy it when we go to OK because I haven’t found it here and I don’t eat it often. My daughter says that another brand is at Walmart-Laura Scudder? I haven’t seen that one either. We love CCR!2
