I am a 50 year old 5'5" woman. I am trying to get healthier to avoid diabetes and all of the problems that come from being overweight.
I have found this challenge to be both rewarding and frustrating! Looking at my weight daily has been a real eye opener to see all of the fluctuations and how a high carb day will affect me and the loss for 2-3 days after. I have been participating in this challenge since Round 40 My average loss/gain since Round 40 to 63 is a 0.5lb loss each round. This was better than I expected!

Hi-I’m Karen
Sept. 2018 OSW 187 (My Round #1)
UGW 135.....yes, 135!
I am taking care of my dad and am in the middle of moving. The good thing is that I am doing all of the cooking at my dad’s so I am in complete control of our food. I brought my weights and my scale with me and my dad has a recumbent bike I love riding. And I brought my sewing machine!!!!
2/12-167-When I got back to my dad’s house yesterday, there were Girl Scout Cookies and banana bread people had brought him.....I just had a taste of each and walked away.....and rode the bike.
Have a good round everyone!💚15 -
I'm in & soo ready for this challenge. It'll be round 3 for me. I plan on doing way better this time!

My weight loss has decelerated, and it going to be a long push though these next ten pounds, I imagine.
2/12 147.6 I expect this to go up slightly tomorrow, didn't eat nearly enough yesterday and went to bed super early. But, it's a new number on the scale! My goal for today is to hit my protein goal. I have my first jiu-jitsu competition on Saturday, I'm super nervous, and I need to eat well leading up to it so I don't die.

Welcome Newbies and welcome back “Oldies!” We are an AWESOMELY AMAZING group!
@Rob72Essex LOL at your lowest weight but are you really only 119 currently?
@aFit50 EXCELLENT ADVICE! Now, if I would just DO IT!
@leni1us When I get up on the morning the first thing I do is go to the throne room. The scale is right in front of me so I don’t forget to weigh. My view from the throne-
As for posting, I sit down with my coffee and read then post comments. If I was working, I would probably post and then try to read during the day or in the evening.
@SarahG626 In case I haven’t said it before, I HATE FOOD PREP! Hope you do better than I!
@flashesbuck Beware of the sugar load in juices! Great that you work out with your wife. My husband gets up and goes to the gym first thing, I prefer the early afternoon.7 -

What we need to succeed is a sustainable way of eating, not a DIET we go on and off.
This is NOT A DIET. It’s a LIFESTYLE.
Round 68
2/11 129.0
——————
2/12 130.0 I don’t know why I just wanted to eat all day yesterday. Hoping this is mostly due to salt from pizza in a bowl. Time to rein it in.11 -
My first 10 day challenge, going on almost 2 weeks of daily logging under my goal calories! (Except one small slip up, but still under my maintenance calories).
23 yr o. Female
Height: 5f 8 inch
Starting weight: 235 (October 2018)
SW: 217.8 for round
GW:216.3 for round
Day/Weight/Comment
(Extra)02/11 217.8lb ate 3 cookies for breakfast, but still logged them in. Shared my oatmeal and fruit, but I've been opening and closing the cupboard constantly looking for snacks. Will power will be hard, but worth it! Decided I want to lose an extra .5 per week so I'm down to 1500 daily, I will try to do that for a couple days and see how I feel.
02/12(214.8) an unexpected huge drop this morning morning, surprised but confused. I hope I can stay under 215 for the rest of this challenge. Had a protein shake for breakfast today to try and help curb my hunger during the day, my regular breakfast wasn't doing the job. Also my first day for under 1500 calories with a hard limit of 1800(my old limit) Will be drinking lots of water and herbal tea and filling up on fresh veggies if I get hungry. I'm so EXCITED and MOTIVATED!!!

Day/Weight/Comment
02/12 - 322.6 - Eh. It's a fluctuation most likely from water. I don't mind it as long as it doesn't become a trend. I'm trying a new worksheet that my dietitian gave me to go off of for this week and see how it goes. It is designed to maximize my nutrition or my calorie intake. Overall I am feeling stronger, better, and more energized. I'm good and for the first time in a long time I can say that and mean it.

02/12 …..185.4 ….. Yay me! It finally budged but I had to go to extreme measures to get a jumpstart! That was actually easy since I woke up with a bad cold & didn't feel well most of the day. Today I will get the carbs & calories back up to plan & try to keep this ball rolling, especially in light of Valentine’s day this round which will include multiple meals outside of my home and we all know how that ends with me. But I’m working on that weakness. Travel at the end of the round for some overnight medical trips will not allow me to do the last few days weigh-ins (unless weather causes me to cancel trip). This will be a tough round but I’ll do my best. My stats for yesterday: 708 Calories in / 2648 calories out. Net carbs 7. IF 16:8 A total of 19,105 steps which included a planned walk. 8.22 Total miles for the day. 13/13 fitbit step hours. I danced for 37 minutes & I walked indoors at moderate pace for 69 minutes. My sample song was “Footloose” by Kenny Loggins. A great high-paced peak song. Good Luck everyone on this round.

Day/Weight/Comment
02/12 159, not a great start to Round 68. I think my salt intake over the past few days caught up with me. Today is another day so I am not going to be too discouraged. I ordered Plated for this week and the calories count are really high, especially for my height and intake. I made their Steak Quesadilla yesterday and the serving size was 960 calories. I cut my portion in half so calories were within the 1360 I could eat, but I was still very hungry. I order from meal subsciptions around once every month, but took January and December off because of the holidays, so this was the first time I have cooked with them on a diet.

That's great @MyEvolvingJourney I'm so glad A simple baseline check is neck, breast or shoulders, waist, hips and thighs.
I started once a month, but now do a full body measure once a week of neck, arms, breasts, hips, thighs, calves and Upper, Middle and Lower Abs -- which is the belly button, 2 inches above (waist area) and 2 inches below. Writing this thinking about the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, I've decided to add my wrists and ankles too, lol
@aFit50 Lol on the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. I love that tape measure she keeps in the drawer. Have you EVER seen such a tiny waist? I'm GREEN with Envy!

02/12 = 218.2 (+1.2), BF% = 18.3. I'm going to call yesterday "an extended weekend." It started by eating out (Thai) at a place I know I should not have. I had something "keto-friendly" for dinner, except my wife "convinced" me (I'm going to stick with that for now) to have a slice of bread with it, which turned into two. I snacked a little mindlessly at one point. And I ended the night with 4-5 mini ice cream cones from Trader Joe's (if you know what they are, they're delicious). I'm owning what I ate, even if I didn't log it last night. I'm really trying to stick with this again, good or bad. Writing this right now is some serious deja vu. I'M STILL HERE!!!

This is my fifteenth round. I set some mini-goals for another challenge. They were perhaps a bit ambitious as I am approaching the range of normal BMI and have a trip planned for 6 days in NYC with high school students in February and a spring break trip in March. Without the trips, I probably should have set a goal of 1/2 lb a week. With the trips..... Oh well. For now I'll leave them up! Currently needing to lose 5 lbs to move from overweight to normal BMI! Good luck everyone!

Anyone can join us at anytime during the round.
Join us! If we stay mindful we can do this, you can do this.
Welcome back past members, welcome new members, let's keep each other accountable for another 10 days!
Here is what you do: Post your daily weight and add little comments along the way of how your day went. Post everyday to let us know how you're doing! Copy and paste the days in your response--tell us how much you lost and other non scale victories (NSV) you'd like to share.
FOR NEWBIES - I find it easiest to copy the dates to a document or note in my device and edit it each morning. Then copy and paste to the message board. MFP will return you to the spot on the board where you left off on your previous visit which is nice to know if you like to scan all of the posts.

Day/Weight/Comment
02/12: 225.2 @ 6:00a – I am always happy to start the new round at a lower weight than I ended the previous one at! I am pleasantly surprised particularly because my water intake was not quite where I would have wanted it to be! I have a good routine for my mornings that has helped keep me on track, and I have not succumbed to eating some of the tasty, goal-challenging foods that have moseyed their way into my house, lol. On and off the scale wins!

Looking for a general downward trend. Really focused on my logging, and on clean eating, and MOVING more - which is what I love - it gives me ENERGY!

ROUND 68 (Round 13 for me)
5’5” 67 y/o Texas Lady
SW 178 lb.
GW 135 lb.
I started Round 54 and Keto WOE on September 24, 2018.
Cumulative weight loss for Rounds 54-67 = 38.4 lb.
NSVs: Besides wearing smaller clothing and my wedding band fitting now, my blood pressure has been lower on my last couple of doctor visits and when I’ve checked it at home.
I’m not sure I can stay on track without your help. Thanks, everyone!

02/12 137.2 I only ended with a .2 lb. loss last round, but I’m starting this round 2.2 lb. lower than my weight yesterday. My scale likes to torment with me. On a high note, I’ve been experimenting with not logging calories, just following keto guidelines, and I think I can do it. Starting out, I had to track everything, but I think I’ve got the hang of it now. I keep experimenting with keto recipes that appeal to both me and my husband. I just add pasta or rice or potatoes to his meals. I’m trying to reach my GW by the end of this month.
