03/14 - 347.8 Umm...what!?! Five pounds lost overnight? I had my husband double check the scale because he had already weighed and then I weighed myself again. Hopefully the downward trend continues, but I won’t be surprised by gains in the following days. My goals are to stay on track and continue to fight my cold.
03/15 - 347.2 So it appears that my scale wasn’t horribly wrong yesterday and the downward trend continues. I’m feeling much better this morning and I’m already at pre sick steps for the morning. I might wait until Sunday to restart workouts because I’m very cautious with chest colds due to having a history of getting bronchitis. Today is my mother in law’s birthday and I’m hopeful of staying on track.

I am a 50 year old 5'5" woman. I am trying to get healthier to avoid diabetes and all of the problems that come from being overweight.
I have found this challenge to be both rewarding and frustrating! Looking at my weight daily has been a real eye opener to see all of the fluctuations and how a high carb day will affect me and the loss for 2-3 days after. I have been participating in this challenge since Round 40 My average loss/gain since Round 40 to 63 is a 0.5lb loss each round. This was better than I expected!

@Tamicrossfitter What box do you go to? I started my own box in the town I live in, Eisen Haus CrossFit, back in 2016. Sold it a year ago. Still work out there.... it actually started by accident. 03/14 …..185.8 ….. Nice to see a drop again. Like some of the others I feel very sore from a lot of the exercise. I may decrease the amounts today and allow a little rest to these old bones & muscles. I will spend the time prep cooking for my freezer. I may skip going to the potluck/pool hall that I attend on Thursdays. We will see. Yesterdays stats: 1089 Calories In / 2795 calories out. 12 Net Carbs mostly in veggies. 21,329 Total Steps & 9.03 Total Miles. I wanted to IF 12:12 (two week metabolism reset plan) but found that I’m just too busy at my planned starting time due to my work schedule. Today I will attempt again but at a bit of a later starting time. My IF yesterday was 16:8. 13/13 Fitbit Step Hours. I charged my Fitbit while sleeping so no exact tracking on sleep, but my best clock estimate was just over 5 hours. I walked 112 minutes inside the school and danced for 51 minutes on my make-believe dance floor in my livingroom. Sample Song “Everyday People” by Sly & the Family Stone. 03/15 …..185.6 ….. I skipped the pool hall & potluck last night & focused on the flooding in our area. Because my home is on a slab, the danger of it getting into my house is real so I bailed water until 4:00 a.m. It also rained & that was not helping. I have a new ground drain outside but it is frozen over or buried so I could not find it. Today will also be challenging. I hope to find it before I travel this week or I will come home to a sunken ship! We still have about 8 inches of snow across the grass & large hills along the sidewalks & driveways. Sunny days are causing the meltdown. If it is not too sunny today I would like to get down to the school to walk again. Yesterday’s stats: 1054 Calories In / 2145 Calories Out. 13 Net Carbs. 16,275 Total Steps & 6.89 Miles. IF 12:12 . 13/13 Fitbit Step Hours. I slept 4 hours & 33 minutes and was up early to start bailing the water. I am very angry right now that my husband died on me 3 years ago. 03/14--212.9 I realized that I need to really work on my evening snacking. I don't know if it's boredom, tiredness or something else, but I want to be really conscious of why I snack so much in the evening even when I'm not hungry. What's weird is that I'm not even snacking on junk food or any specific type of food. It's going to be hard, but I think it should be interesting. Trainer tonight.
03/15--212.5 Ok, yesterday evening I tried something new to help curb my snacking. I had my dinner and then about 1/2 an hour later I realized that I was still hungry, but instead of reaching for a snack I decided to have another serving of my dinner. After the 2nd serving the hunger was gone and when about an hour later my husband asked if I wanted any of the popcorn he made I said no when I realized that I wasn't hungry. I didn't snack for the rest of the evening and in the end ate less calories than I've eaten over the prior couple of days when I was snacking. This has made me realize that I'm probably not eating enough for dinner and when I get hungry in the evening and start snacking it's hard for me to stop. So, I think from now on I'm going to eat more at dinner which will curb my hunger during the rest of the evening and hopefully I won't even start snacking. Run tonight.

@deepwoodslady Donna, you certainly have my prayers! That would be so scary. I see our granddaughter in Iowa also has potential flooding issues. It’s really too bad that all of that water can’t be routed out here. Lake Mead is 130 feet down and they keep building houses like crazy!4

03/14 - 151.0 did more snacking last night than I should have. I didn't get dinner on the table till about 7:15 and had a couple of snacks while I was cooking and waiting to start cooking. We were trying to get the second oldest ready for his first day of work. It took us 18 years to convince that kid he needed a job, but he finally did it. I am just hoping he likes it and he figures out it isn't as bad as he has built it up to be in his head. The oldest also came by and picked some furniture up that we are giving him and his girlfriend. They are getting their own place next month when this semester ends and moving in together. First year of college is almost complete for them. Plan is set today for food and water and I am staying on my no alcohol train. Today will be day 5, trying to do a 14 day no alcohol challenge. Honestly it has been tougher than I thought.
03/15 - 151.0 same as yesterday. I guess I can't complain, although was hoping it would be lower. We did go out to dinner last night and I stayed within calories. Did not eat any bread which is definitely a win in my book. So I guess staying the same after a meal out is good, seeing as I usually gain a couple of pounds after a night out. Feeling frustrated with my up and down of essentially 1 lb for the past 7 (!) weeks. I know that my food has not been 100% because I have started back in the gym and trying to juggle too many balls in the air. That being said, for the next 10 day round I commit to:
~ writing my food down before I eat it
~allowing myself a maintenance MEAL and not a maintenance DAY on the weekends
~continuing with my workout plan of 30 days of yoga and 2x lifting per week.

03/15 154 looking at this scale was a wake up call. I felt horrible but I know I've done it before and with more weight. I can do this. Haven't worked out at all this week cause of the time change, but I will be at it. No excuses!

HDL is now 55 (not 39!!) 1st time ever! Daily walking did it. All cholesterol & triglyceride labs are perfect. Low bp etc etc. parathyroid is the best it’s been, well in normal range!!! I track everything I eat Every Day.

03/14 204.4 Yesterday I actually got up and did my workout BEFORE work (not a morning person). I know I need to drink a bit more water!
03/15 201.7 – Quite a jump, don’t expect it to stay this low just yet lol. Got more water in yesterday though. Did well today food wise. Have worked out every day this week, so considering not doing it today but there is still time if I change my mind.

03/14 378.4 (-0.4) – My goal this round is to focus, focus, focus! No more red rounds! My goal is to lose 4 to 6 pounds per round. If I don't lose that much no worries – I am not beating myself up. But I am determined not to have any more red rounds! I can do that at least! So to help me do that, I reset my ticker yesterday to my 2019 start weight, which I am over by 5.4 pounds. I have really been struggling but I am going to try to come out of this slump because life is just not getting any easier as we struggle in these trying times. My goal this year is lose 50 to 75 pounds and to do that I am really going to have to buckle down. My ticker is set for 75 but I will gladly take 50 plus in a heartbeat and nothing less than that for sure. I think having something already on the ticker is not helping me so I am trying something new. I have to keep trying and trying until I get it right!
My Dad is doing pretty good considering he is in hospice in a nursing home. In February it has been over year. Life goes on, so I have to find a way to make me a priority also. Baby steps
I am also working on increasing my sleeping hrs per night. I am happy to say this week I have slept 3 days since Monday over 7 hrs! I have not slept 7 hrs 3 nights in a week in a loooong time, so I am proud of that and I am going to try to keep it going because this helps me for sure.
I am really going to try to check in here more often too. That too will help me because I will be more mindful. I will read something to inspire, etc. The rounds I lost -- I checked in more also. Even if I don't have time to comment every day, I want to log my weight at least.
03/15 378.4 (-0.0) – Went over my points but did my exercise and got my 7000 steps. Short on sleep but feeling great and back on it today. Pre-planning for weekend so I can maintain or even lose a pound or more. We will see. I usually make my goal for weekend to maintain or not to gain. If I do that I am doing good. Past weekends I have blown my whole week on the weekend. Now I can maintain and even lose. I may go up one day and come right back down the next because I try not to have 2 or 3 bad days if you include Friday.
