To all of you who break out from poison ivy/oak, I have a suggestion to help you keep from getting the breakouts. I used to get it all of the time. Now, if I do something where I could have possibly come in contact with it, when finished with the activity, I come in and immediately wet a paper towel with rubbing alcohol and wipe all areas of exposed skin. I then wash whatever clothes I had on and take a shower. I've done this for the last 2 years and only had one very minor breakout. It can't hurt to give it a try. Also, if you do get a breakout and have a hard time sleeping for itching, you can get the area really hot - by taking a hot shower or using a heating pad or some other hot item. It'll itch like crazy to begin with, but soon will stop. That is because your body will have released all of the histamines it has stored up. Once they are gone, it takes a couple of hours to replenish, so you have some itch free time that allows you to go to sleep. (I have tried this too and it really works.)7

I usually get it from my cats. They get in it and rub on me. I used zanfel for a while. The alcohol will remove the oils from your skin, if you realize you’ve touched it. If it’s unmanageable, a course of steroid is great at getting over it. OTC antihistamines topical and oral also help. Best if you can just rid the yard of it or be aware of it. Dh took me though a patch once and I said “what buddy! No way!” He said “you won’t get it. It just rained”. I really want both of those. I’m saving the link. Maybe after my first comeback race I’ll treat myself to that hanger. If I can find the mug, I’ll grab it! I may snatch some thing that dh might like. His b day is Saturday.

For displays, I have 2 of them - less than marathon distances and marathon+ distances (trying to track for 50 states also, not yet to the 10 required to join).

Holy smokes!!! It has been a while since I have gotten this far behind in one day. Let’s see if I can even figure this out to recap.
Nettles: we had them in the mountains of Wyoming growing up. I should probably enquirer as to their existence here soon.
Health systems/lady part exams: although mostly familiar with the American system, the only time I have been admitted to a hospital was during my semester in Scotland. I speak very highly of my experience with NHs, the Stirling Infirmary, and associated clinics. Yes, you pay for every prescription, but five pounds each seemed like quite a deal for this American. HOWEVER, unlike most of the accounts, the first time I can remember feeling pressured towards a lady exam was in Stirling. They couldn’t believe I had made it to the advanced age of 21 without one. But, in all my experiences I truly was generally amazed by their focus on preventative/diagnostic care.
Medal hangers: I got me and my best friend/running buddy one to commemorate our first half marathon. I had saved all of my bibs, but the clips weren’t big enough so I have gotten rid of a lot of them. Also on display, alongside articles from my type of racing, is a souvenir from the boyfriend getting to go watch his type of racing.
In other news, spring seems to have shown up for its one day appearance in Wyoming. It was 55 degrees, sunny, and fairly calm. I just couldn’t pass it up. Despite being sickly this week, I took off with the intent to complete the 6 mile interval run I had been putting off for over a week. I lived thru it, but it was slow and terribly hard. Run 4 min walk 2 min intervals. So, longest run since September? And longest run with that long of intervals in I can’t remember when. I may have to call in dead to work tomorrow, though.

MTD is 11.1, goal for April is 100 miles.
I have a 5K race on Sat April 13.
My "A" race of the summer is a 10K on July 4.
My "A" race of the winter is a 15K in late January.
04.01: 3.5M Interval Run (3.5)
04.02: 4.5M Easy Run (8)
04.03: Scheduled Rest Day
04.04: 3.1M Pace Run (11.1)
I've set up my weekly running schedule as follows:
Sunday is an easy run, usually around 9:15/M for 4-5Ms.
Monday are intervals (right now I am running 5 1-Ks at 4:45-5:00 with 2:00 recovery but will start adding in an additional K every few weeks)
Tuesday is an easy run, same as Sunday.
Wednesday is a bike riding day.
Thursday is a pace run where I like to run sub 8:15/M for 3-4Ms.
Friday is a long run day where I run for a set time versus distance so I don't run too fast, usually between 80 and 90 minutes right now, pace is around 9:30.
Saturday is a rest/walk day.
I'd like to be able to run a sub 50:00 10K, 80:00 15K, and would eventually like to run a marathon next spring. My PBs are:
23:57 for a 5K, 50:15 for a 10K, and 82:57 for a 15K.
I'm loosely following a Hal Higdon 15K plan, though because of my work schedule, I do long runs on Fridays when I am normally not working. I normally work Sunday thru Tuesday or Wednesday. I am open to any pointers if anyone is willing to share. Thanks.

Dog cooperated and I had an uneventful run. Decided to change run/walk time from 5/:30 to 5/1 because I didn't feel the 30 second walk break was really enough...plus the longer walk break gives the dog more time to sniff.

winter has returned here. It's been grey and miserable all week, with plenty of rain. A bit of a contrast to Monday where I caught the sun and have t-shirt tan lines.
I still haven't run this week. I have honestly just felt shattered all week, and I often wonder if I should just push through or whether it's better to rest and have a quality run. I've been out every night this week doing stuff (a recce visit to meet members of a local mountaineering club to see if I wanted to join, and a folk music/Northumbrian smallpipes and clog dancing gig) so last night I cancelled my gym slot, made a bean stew, and just chilled. And THAT was the right thing to do. I feel so much better now - I've learnt that I really DO need one evening a week where I do nothing.
The weather is easing and as the evenings are lighter I'm all set for a run this evening. I'm not going to do the 12 miles on the plan, but as the plan for next week has a HM on the plan, I ought to aim for 8-10 miles, which should be doable at an easy run/walk pace. this is a Hal Higdon plan I'm loosely following (I say loosely as I try and get in the total mileage for the week, and the long run, not necessarily as the plan says though.
I'm embarrassed to post pictures of my 'medal display'. I don't know that casually thrown on a cupboard with a load of other stuff quite counts.....

@Lazy_Bones_85 Thank you! I didn't really "design" it. The board was bought on etsy, and I just added a photo frame from the container store above it. The map was purchased as well and just tacks to hold stuff in the right places. Trust me, there is nothing creative part of me. I just use what others have created.1 -

Yup, that was me! She’s absolutely fine. She had about three days that she didn’t eat anything at all, then another 3-4 days of gradually increased appetite, and as of a couple days ago she’s eating completely normally. The vet thought it was kind of weird, but said sometimes cats just get bugs the same as people do. /shrug6 -
Among the things that make this group the best: I have counted at least three of us, and I think I saw a fourth but it was a bit blurry to be certain, with our AIM run medals in our bling displays.
