One person told me that they thought I was much prettier with more weight.
Another told me I was too fat (my aunt)
I can't wait to hear what the husband has to say this time. Last time he accused me of developing an eating disorder because I was counting out almonds. You know, portion control. I could sit down and eat a bag of almonds, but one serving size is 15 almonds.
My middle eastern dance instructor commented, "You'd look better in that costume if you lost another 15lbs." All said though, I appreciated her comment because it wasn't out of malice. Just a matter of fact statement.
One thing that gets me is when people say "no (unhealthy snack) for you, you're on a diet"
No, I'm not on a "diet". If eating a slice of free office cake fits in with my calorie goats for the day, you bet I'm eating it. Plus it's none of their business what I do or don't eat.
just yesterday my SIL stated, " don't take this the wrong way, but you're too skinny". Uh, my BMI is 26.2, so I'm still in the overweight range. Duh! Besides, I'm the only one that gets to decide when I'm too skinny. And the ONLY people I've ever asked about it were my wife and my brother/training partner.
'You look ill, please don't lose anymore'. They don't like it when you're overweight but neither do they like it when you've lost the weight. No middle ground with some people.
I've been in maintenance for several years (oh OK, I'm a few quarantine pounds up, but still not what I was! I'm working on it! ) but what always annoyed me at first was people saying "I wish I could lose weight! What did you do?"
Apparently "move more, eat less" wasn't the answer they were looking for, but given we don't get powdered unicorn horn round here it was my only option!

Next time someone asks me how I stay in shape, I'm going to tell them I take powdered unicorn horn.
Sadly it seems to be out of stock at the moment Exercising twice a day is just not achieving the same activity level as working normally, roll on September!
Well, it finally happened. When asked how I lost weight, another woman interrupted to say that CICO is no good.
Apparently there’s a thing with estrogen being stored in fat that prohibits pre, peri, and post menopausal women from losing weight.
I feel like I need to pinch myself to see if it’s all real. Because, according to this otherwise lovely woman, it’s “impossible”. Maybe I’m a figment if my own imagination?

Wow. The pseudoscience is everywhere! She straight up ignored your obvious success.
I had a conversation with a random guy once who told me he lost 80 pounds and counting on the "HCG" diet, told me that the HCG shots prevented the loss of lean body mass while only eating 500 kcal/day, so it was safe. I have my MS in nutrition, so he didn't have much luck convincing me. The best/worst part about it is that he was a chiropractor, so he was not only giving out bogus advice to his patients, but he was making money off them. I feel so bad for all the people searching for help who have been harmed by such blatantly false information.

Yes, @springlering62, it's OBVIOUS from those skinny yoga pants you wear that CICO doesn't work.
Also, "...that prohibits pre, peri, and post menopausal women from losing weight." So...ALL women?

Wow. Just wow. I mean no disrespect to good chiropractors who stick with spinal adjustments and help their patients, but I've seen a fair number of not-so-good chiropractors selling bunkum and snake oil to their patients. It's really, really sad. Protip: Don't go to any chiropractor who has a shrine to Tom Cruise in his office.
That said, I guess my 65 pound weight loss (and still going strong) must all be in my head because I'm (a) female (b) probably going through perimenopause (c) dealing with a currently unmedicated low thyroid (the med I need isn't available right now) and (d) have a slow metabolism, partly because of said thyroid. Hm. Somehow I managed to do all this since January 6. I wonder how that's possible?

Absolutely bizarre. I guess my 110lbs lost so far is all imaginary, too. I mean I do swear I still see it in the mirror sometimes...
I have heard stuff about estrogen being stored in fat, but that was more along the lines of being mindful that it may/will be released into your bloodstream as you lose fat, affecting your moods. No idea if that's true, either, if I'm honest, but it at least sounds more plausible.

I will say (though anecdote is not data) that since I have been losing weight I have had more moodiness around that time of the month. Otherwise...I really can't say. We moved in the middle of a hot summer in the middle of a pandemic and he lost his job halfway through the move, and we have spent the month trying to put things away in a smaller house and get him a new job and so.... there has been some moodiness, but I don't think it's necessarily connected to hormones! LOL
Some people have been honestly supportive but there are others that should keep the negative comments to themselves !!! People that have no clue can’t stop giving me advice. They say wow your too skinny ( I’m 8 lbs from my optimum weight ) my rebuttal is I think the majority of Americans are overweight and not used to seeing someone at a healthy weight !!!!! I didn’t know that co- workers would analyze what I eat for lunch ( saying I saw what you brought for lunch & It was only a small little Tupperware , your not eating enough) My response is I’m eating no less that 1200 cal a day which is a deficit ( I started my weight loss about 50 lbs overweight ! It’s working for me everyone is different ! People seem to have a lot to tell me what to do & weird thing most of them are obese . I try to be kind but shocked at the negativity ( so be ready for the jealous ones ) .

This is soo true. I have literally lived this.
LOL, I wish I was as quick to find comebacks in person as I am in text!

My MIL keeps saying the same thing---it's highly annoying.
My mom: "Oh yeah, I noticed you lost some weight"
My best friend: "GIRL YOU ARE CRUSHING IT!!"
