Make the next available appointment, even if it’s several weeks away. While you’re waiting for it, check with other doctors to see if they have anything sooner. If urgent care centers exist where you live, go there. Stop making excuses for not going to the doctor.

You probably aren’t going to die tomorrow of constipation. You absolutely can develop all sorts of complications and dangerous conditions from long term untreated constipation. I don’t know about you, but I would prefer to live a life that is both as long and as pain-free as possible.

<Also eat more fiber>. Really? do you have a clue whether the OP has been eating fiber? Do you think that increasing fiber will help someone pass or move 2 week old stool? Do you have any idea what may be happening in the op's bowels? Is there an obstruction? Pressure? What is the cause? Why are the bowels not propelling the stool along? Why is it lack of fiber as opposed to lack of FAT for example that may have contributed to the issue? And, again, will increasing fiber two weeks later do anything to move things from two weeks ago?

Or drugs that have been misused, or over-used, or, for that matter, even correctly used. So, you know, your mileage may vary, but probably it would be a good idea to ring some alarm bells and get the OP to take some physical action with someone who can competently evaluate this instead of spouting our favourite *kitten*poop based theories <-- hey at least the kittens pooped to help along your meat and cheese theory!

It’s not cute, and it’s not a LMAO thing either unless you’re trolling for attention. The fact that you keep engaging here suggests that this isn’t a serious post because if it were I would hope you would heed the advice of 99% of the responders and seek medical attention ASAP. Don’t wait for the next available apppintment. Go to urgent care or the ER.

I have a life and job to carry on with I can’t just drop everything because a few people online tell me to. I’ve already said I’m going to book the next available appointment. And I was putting lmao because the person commented was saying I said something I didn’t so I put it sarcastically.

People do die from this. Rock hard stomach sounds concerning. Yes, you CAN DROP EVERYTHING for a medical emergency. If you die you will not be showing up to your job.

Eat more fibre and more meat and cheese is extremely poor advice.

We are not talking about how to avoid constipation.

We are talking about a potential bowel obstruction, which can be life threatening.

OP needs to see a doctor and when the initial problem is sorted she needs to do a plan with the doctor to wean from the long term use of laxatives.

Part of me thinks a troll for sure. As a GI RN I’m reading this thinking there is no way this is legit. I have seen people in conditions you don’t even want to hear about. Stop messing about thinking this is funny and get to your ER right away. This could be life theating.

So at this point you haven't even called them. If you did and told them what was happening they would undoubtedly direct you to go to an emergency facility or at least see you right away.

Assuming this is real I believe you have abused laxatives in the past and may be currently suffering from an eating disorder and this is why you are reluctant to seek medical attention. You probably know you need serious treatment.

You need to go. It is your life though.

That you have asked for advice about a potentially life threatening situation and then brush off our responses suggests that you are not serious. Maybe you are making it up and/or looking for attention. That you would use our time for light entertainment is rather insulting.

Throwing in with the "Go to the ER" group if it's really been two weeks, for what it's worth. Dealing with an obstruction is gross and painful, the longer you wait, the worse it will be.

So I just posted a novel thread of my own about my dad being in the hospital and it being quite serious. He confessed to us over the weekend when he was admitted that he hadn't been feeling well for a few weeks, extremely fatigued just walking to get the mail an very low appetite. He ignored those warnings and is now in the hospital with not only leukemia but he also developed pneumonia due to the side effect of the leukemia causing a weak immune system. Some of these complications my dad is experiencing could have been avoided if he had seen a doctor when he started feeling unwell and not like himself. Please, please, please go to the doctor.

Whether or not you are intentionally trolling, the way you're responding to people is a common trolling behavior. It starts with posting about some medical concern or ED type situation, then responding to everyone who answers by dismissing or ignoring their concerns. So while you may not be intentionally trolling, be assured your responses are guaranteed to exasperate everyone who gave a serious answer to your question.

Also, you may not have had a serious complication yet, but the risk is very high. An acquaintance of mine had constipation that was caused by her abusing laxatives. It lead to a serious sepsis infection. She was in the hospital for several weeks, with two surgeries where they removed part of her colon. She now has to live with a colostomy bag, which was devastating to her being in her 30s.

So, you complain about taking time from work to see a doctor now, imagine what a prolonged hospital stay and lifelong disability will do to your career prospects. But, if you want to LMAO at that, too, then I'm sure you'll enjoy the results when the complications catch up to you.
