@tramaine Are you eating chicken or do you mean just organic chicken broth and beef broth? Congrats on fighting that edema & winning! You are doing great all around including the additional exercising/movement. I love watching your progress. Thanks for sharing the details.

My average weight is up four pounds since the beginning of May when I was at my lowest. I had been maintaining within about a half pound of my goal since mid March. I still have some work to do.

Happy Sunday!
I flirt with 196, then pop up to 198. Rinse, repeat. I have been gaining and losing the same 2 lbs for 7 months now. Will the plateau ever break?
I did realize one thing. I have been stuck since my gallbladder surgery, yes... AND I quit nicotine. I was a former smoker turned vaper. I had vaped for 4 1/2 years. Couldn't vape when I was in hospital so I used the forced opportunity to quit. Never picked it up again. That might have something to do with my stall. On a positive note, lots of people gain a ton of weight when they quit nicotine and I haven't done that, so, yay me!
Highest weight ever: 254 in October 1999.
Lowest since 1991: 194.4 November 25, 2018, post gallbladder surgery.
Original starting weight: 243 in 2015.
MFP Starting weight December 25th, 2016: 233.
Goal: 180 in however long it takes. And it's taking a LOT longer than I thought it would!
Weekly Averages:
May 27-June 2: 197.7
June 3 - June 9: 197.3
Loss for June: 0.4 lbs
MFP Loss: 35.7 lbs.
Total cumulative loss since mid 2015: 45.7 lbs.

Good week, I even saw 153. Lol I was definitely just dehydrated but I love the first glimpse of a new low. In my head I start to focus on that new low number being my next high number.
I bought some new clothes that fit better and I’m getting a lot of “you’ve lost more weight!”. I love being able to say 5lbs per month, it sounds like such a small attainable number. Yet when you see someone (me) lose almost 90lbs, 5lbs at a time, you can see how big that loss can be.
I am so thankful for this challenge giving me a reasonable goal each month.10 -
@tramaine_21 - congrats! Great job! That's a BIG whoosh! I saved your detox. How long do you detox, and do you see a weight spike when you stop?
@JennH517 - congrats on the nicotine! I need to do that, and the prospect of weight gain scares the bejimminies out of me. Hugs on the stall, hang in there - you'll bust through it!5 -

Today's Thoughts: Off cycle check in - excited to see progress on that spike 3 days in a row. 🎉 There was no eating out or family get togethers this weekend, so I was able to stay focused on my eating plan. I didn't expend much energy around house or garden, but I was intent on getting my steps and my exercise routine in.
I don't think I've shared my basic routine ...
* March in place 250 "steps"
* Push ups (against counter) 40
* Squats 40
* March in place 250 "steps"
* Arm Circles 40 (each direction)
* Side Bends 40 (each side)
* March in place 250 "steps"
* Lunges 40 (each leg)
* Tricep Lifts 1 lb 40
* March in place 250 "steps"
* March any "extra" steps to get 25 minutes
I didn't start out at 40 reps. I started with 3 exercises at 10 reps and added a rep each session until I got to 40. I added the second 3 the same way - 10 reps, building to 40. Then I added the marching to up the heart rate - bonus points for adding to my step count. 😂

However, there was a noticeable lack of energy during my workouts so I decided to add in some healthy carbs before and/or during exercising. So guess I'm low carb eating for now. Will continue to monitor how I feel and tweak the menu as needed.

Work conference/mini vacation in San Diego last week. Ate amazing fresh seafood everyday. Scale was up 3lbs when I returned, so I’m okay with 1lb up. It was TOTALLY worth it.
More likely than fat gained from my trip, I think it’s normal fluctuation. Seems I’m usually up week 2, TOM comes week 3 and I lose mostly at end of week 4. I’ll have to watch the trend and see if that’s what happens again this month.

Advice: Don't sabotage yourself. It's a journey, right? Sometimes we're on our way somewhere and we see a sign for something we hadn't planned on but it looks interesting. Is it ok to wander from our planned path to go check out a side attraction? Hell yes. Step away. Enjoy the scenery. Do something you didn't plan. You only have one spin of the wheel, so make it matter. The trick is you have to get back on the path. It sounds like you've done this before. If you recognize the symptoms of self-sabotage, just stop and think. Recognize it for what it is, and give it a name. Own it. Then it has less power over you. And you know what next? Just keep moving towards the goal.
Sounds trite. If someone told me this I'd roll my eyes. So go ahead and roll your eyes. Then read it again tomorrow. Maybe we're on to something. WE CAN DO THIS.
