I am 52 y/o 5’1.5” from PA. I have a ways to go to reach my ultimate goal of 110lbs. Weight loss is harder as you get older but not impossible. It definitely is a life time change and it tends to slow down quicker, and every day is a struggle. 06/18 - 193.3 - I tracked my food and my weight yesterday. I was short on water but I’ll try again today. I stayed on track with healthy food for the most part yesterday. Lately, I’ve had an all or nothing attitude. So if I mess up during the day, I’ll say screw it and eat with reckless abandon. That’s what got me into this mess. Yesterday I ate a super sugary snack, but I logged it and ate healthy eating for the rest of the day. It’s the little victories that add up.
06/19 - 193.3 - I didn’t meet my goals today, but I was mindful about my choices. I’ll try again today. I am planning to run and take the dogs for a walk today so that should help.
06/20 -193.9 - I went over my calories yesterday, those darn ice cream stands! Otherwise, I’m happy that I’m continuing to be mindful of how I’m treating my body. I went for a run in the morning and walk with the dog at night.

06/12 – 142.5 – Nice way to start the round!
06/13 – 141 – I haven’t seen this number for a couple months.
06/14 – 141 – It has been several months since I took my measurements, so I took them yesterday. I’m within a couple pounds of my weight last time I took them so I wasn’t expecting any real losses. I was surprised to see that I’m down a half inch on my waist and thighs, a quarter inch on my hips, and (of course) an inch on my bust. I don’t really do much exercising, other than to get at least 5000 steps a day and following @deepwoodslady lead, I’ve been dancing while doing work around the house. When I was in weight loss mode, the measurements are what kept me going when the scale wasn’t moving, but I am surprised to see how my body continues to re-composition itself while I’m eating at maintenance.
06/15 – 141.5 – It’s the weekend. A little extra salt and not enough water last night. I’ve also eaten over maintenance today with the grandson staying with us, so I’ll have to be extra mindful tomorrow.
06/16 – 142.5 – I was expecting this. Ate a little lighter today but it will still probably take a few days to get rid of the sodium.
06/17 – 142.5 – Still not enough water. I had the day off work today and did so much running around, I was afraid to drink too much water and have to find a bathroom every hour.
06/18 – 141.5 – This is nice to see today.
06/19 – 142.5 – No reason for this bump up today, but I’m still happy with my weight trend.

06/20 - 153.7 - Down again. Still struggling with food but water was a little better yesterday. Not where it needs to be, but improving. Here's to another day of trying (: Still feeling not so great mentally which means not so great physically. I'm at least forcing some food down my throat here and there so I'm not completely starving myself. Although I know 500-800 calories is not even CLOSE to what I need, its better than nothing at all at this point. No TOM yet, but any day now. Maybe the hormones balancing out will help with my mood and I can bounce back.

Previous day's comments for R8006/12 - I forgot... I think I'm still half asleep, honestly (: I won't get to weigh in for the next handful of days (MAYBE Monday) so hopefully I can keep myself in check. Feeling fat and bloated today but going to keep going strong and know its just one day.
06/13 - At boyfriends. We stayed up until about midnight talking because he was waiting for meds to kick in (played softball and he's injured like me so real sore. Plus got bruised ribs from a collision). We discussed weight. He's on board with helping me find and keeping me accountable for more workouts. The gym at work has a rowing machine which I can do with my injuries with little to no impact (other than epic soreness) so I think on days I'm not rushed to get to baseball games in time, I'll either go during lunch or after work. I think he also is okay with me cutting down portions or making something slightly different to eat to help me out nutritionally. Wins! I feel so much more confident that I can break this plateau of 155-ish with his support (I hovered at 155 for 2 years after my surgery so I think its a happy place for my body since I can't work out like I used to) but I know I've been down to 145 and I still have some to lose at that weight so maybe, just maybe, I can hit 140 or below with his help. Plus, when he has the kids, I get out and be active with them as much as I can.

06/17 - Very little water, plenty of beer, a double kids birthday (1 and 3 year old) and a father's day bbq. So not as bad as I thought and hopefully will drop when I'm hydrated better
06/18 - Bad mental health day today. Woke up crying don't know why. Stayed at boyfriends since baseball game and we went out to dinner after. Today is his birthday, was maybe going to make the chicken he likes (his kids don't like the crunchy cheese on top) but he doesn't have the kids this week. Definitely not enough water yesterday but improvement from the weekend.
06/19 - Just not feeling it... Mental health got me so bad I barely could eat yesterday and still felt like puking it all back up. Going to try for more food today without pushing my body and mind too far. Also, I always seem to drop RIGHT before TOM and it will be here any day so that may be another reason for the significant drop

Busy morning - we had 4 beautiful trees planted and some other yard work done, then went out for pho. I had a vegetarian bun tofu plus a spring roll, so not too badly off track.

06/12 324.6 I’m hopeful that the downward trend continues.
06/13 324.4 Still going down and it flashed 323.8 for a second, so maybe it’s telling me that tomorrow will bring another new low. I’m hopeful of seeing a 60 pound loss this round or early next.
06/14 325.2 I’m trying not to be very frustrated. I know that this is inflammation/water weight because my back and leg are hurting a lot today.
06/15 326.2 I’m not surprised as I know it’s from sodium and not from over eating. I’m beginning to feel like a broken record though. I’m trying to focus on how much I’ve lost so far and how much more that I’ve been doing. My nsv is that I’m starting to hit a consistent 3000 steps a day and I’m able to take my dog on short walks several times a day.
06/16 325.2 That’s the right direction and hopefully the first of several drops. With all the aches I had when I got up I had prepared myself for a gain. I got in an early walk and I hope that the weather will be good enough for one or two more.
06/17 323.4 I cannot say how happy I was to see a new low. Hopefully I’m done with the bouncing around and I’ll keep seeing losses. My nsv yesterday was 6k steps. That’s double my goal and 12x the steps I was getting back when I started this journey.

06/19 323.4 Wrong way... I’m taking a rest day today in hopes I’ll drop some water weight from muscle repair. My nsv yesterday was hitting 8k steps.

@nikki062181 I am back! It has been a long time since I have done this challenge. I was 17lbs from my goal weight and have since gained 17 additional pounds. The truth?! Life got in the way. I'm constantly busy and just started eating out more and exercising less. Time to reel it back in.

6/14: 154.8 😮 Met my calorie goal but my macros were off. I ate too many carbs due to having chicken pizza for dinner. I did consume 34 ounces of water, drank no carbonated beverages, and had no candy either
6/15: 154.6 I nailed my macros yesterday! 🥳 I pushed pushed myself and drank 51 ounces of water. 😯 I know I'll be living in the bathroom today. I'm going to continue to push water but am bumping it up to 3.5 bottles of water today so I can get in 60 ounces. I swept my entire house and did more laundry yesterday.

6/17: 156.6 😭 I was right! I made healthy choices yesterday, but the sodium intake on that meal out killed me! I'm so sad. I will need to push the water today for sure. I'm also going to start on some some smoothies today and B12 supplements. 🤞
6/18: 155 Whew! 😜 I pushed some water yesterday and boy did it work to help get rid of some of that sodium. It was so hard to eat that stuff. 🤢🤮
6/19: 155 Holding steady. I did not push enough liquid yesterday. However, I made cauliflower mash last night for the first time, and that was awesome! My sons and husband even liked it, and they cannot stand cauliflower. SCORE!
6/20: 155.8 I did not drink nearly enough. I met my calorie goal and ate healthy, but I could tell I was really full from dinner last night. In fact, I was too full. I should not have eaten the portion I ate, but I would not have met my goal otherwise. The conundrum...

06/12 146.0 I didn’t exercise yesterday (first time in three weeks) and I also didn’t gain so shows that I can (and probably should) take rest days since I feel more energized now. This week is my TOM and I’m going to start tracking. I used to put it in my notes section of MFP but I can’t find that so easier to track old fashioned style to see how much I do and don’t gain
06/13 145.8 It is nice to see a new number. I managed to do 35 minutes yesterday at the gym, which I usually avoid completely for 2-3 days on my period. Today is really busy so I’m going to try to get the deficit on food alone.
06/14 145.4 yesterday was not an ideal diet day. I didn’t eat much, but drank more than usual. My nba team lost and it was a nail biter and an aperol spritz excessive game! Back to water and actual food today.
06/15 145.4 ate well yesterday and off to a boxing class today with a friend and watching a movie after.
06/16 145.0 great to meet another happy scale milestone! I’m confident I can meet my goal and end this round under 145 since my TOM ends tomorrow. Going to brunch with my parents for father’a day. It’s a buffet so will be easy to make good choices .
06/17 144.7 today may be a bit of a struggle since pretty sore from Saturday’s boxing class in my calves and hamstrings. I have a beginning tennis class during my lunch break that I started last week so hopefully can be ready for that.

6/12 NS Still on the road until tomorrow night. I walked at lunch yesterday and after work. Ended up with 5.44 miles. I really wish I would have gone the other .06 miles to land at 5.5 but too late now. Found two excellent restaurants yesterday. Stayed under on calories but of course, being on the road over on sodium. Going to the gym tonight for weights. Driving home tomorrow, I don't think I'll stop to walk. I have walked for 7 days in a row. Time for a break. I'm fighting so hard to get into the 160s. I'll do it this round and I hope for the rest of my life.
6/13 NS Driving home today. I was good calorie wise yesterday, went to the gym last night then came back to the hotel and crashed by 10:00 pm. It's a beautiful day so I know I wasn't going to walk but I might stop for a short maybe a thirty-minute walk. It's super sunny but chilly for June, the best walking weather. I think I'll not walk tomorrow. I'll be spending the day working and with the BF with no time for walking. I already packed my walking shoes but the more I think about it and share with you guys I'm going to stop. Today will be a better day to walk than tomorrow.
6/14 169.4 I have tried posting this several times and it hasn't been working. I'm happy with this number after not seeing a scale for 3 days. I'm down .9 pounds since the last time I weighed (I think that weight was high and this one is "right"). Below is a pic from yesterday's short walk. Happy Friday. It let me post but didn't let me add the pic. It said, "You are not allowed to upload files in this category". Weird, I've posted pics before.
6/15 169.5 No biggie. Father's Day Celebration #1 lunch today. It should be easy, it's at a restaurant where I know I have options. After lunch, a graduation party for a friend's son - this could be dangerous. Snacky food can be my nemesis. We'll see. No time to walk today or tomorrow. Father's Day weekend is a long and stressful one for me.
6/16 171.1 Spicy Almonds is all I can really say. Lunch with my Dad is an unknown. Usually, we go to one of the two restaurants in my small home town he likes, neither has good options. No time to walk today, unless I can leave Dad's at a decent time.
6/17 171.1 Stupid water retention. I didn't eat two pounds worth of almonds on Saturday, this is not actual weight. I did not leave my Dad's until after 8:00 then I had an hour drive home. No walking 3 days in a row. I'm getting itchy, I need to hit the dusty trail. Well not so dusty in the rainy spring but you get the idea. I'll be drinking about 2 gallons of water to get rid of the sodium and excess weight.
6/18 171.4 All that water did not help. I walked 3.5 miles last night, was under calorie goal and drank 9 glasses of water. It was great to get on the trail. I stopped to tie my shoe and found a tiny frog. I'm driving to StL today and coming back to KC tomorrow. I should do weights tonight but if the river is down I'll walk instead.
6/19 NS I'll have a scale tomorrow. I stayed under calorie goal by almost 300 calories and that did not include exercise. I just wasn't hungry for some reason. I stopped at a State Park I haven't visited before. It's a rough trail but those are the most fun. You don't beat any speed records but you see cool stuff. I did not get enough water, for some reason I'm fine sitting in my office drinking water but if I'm on the road I want tea. I'm working here until noonish than hitting the road again. I think I'll try my luck on the Katy Trail this afternoon.
6/20 169.3 Yeah! I did enjoy a lovely walk yesterday. It sprinkled a little but the trees were so dense that for the most part, I stayed dry. I went back to Graham Cave State Park to explore a different trail. I am so thankful that I can build time to exercise in my work travel schedule. It takes a little of the sting out of spending basically a day a week in my car driving back and forth across the state of Missouri. I'm going to stay away from sodium today. I am a 50 year old 5'5" woman. I am trying to get healthier to avoid diabetes and all of the problems that come from being overweight.

Weird question:
TOM arrived. I'm on birth control for cramps, hormonal acne, and irregular periods. Works WONDERS. But today, as soon as TOM started (about 30 minutes ago), I've been DYING of cramps.
*I used to get such debilitating cramps I couldn't even stand or walk. These aren't that bad, but its making me want to curl up and cry.
I'm at work. Closest store is about 20 miles away. I took some excedrin since it's all I have here. I can't leave work for another 7.5 hours. Any suggestions on how to cope?! I don't know who else to ask12 -

06/12 Starting weight 167.2 lbs - walked to work and back home for a total of about 75 minutes - my food intake wasn't great - lacto vegetarian till June 17th so my choices at an Italian restaurant weren't great. Downhill from there.
06/13 - And here's the result. Today's weight: 167.8 lbs - raining today so my cardio won't be great. Will do some weights at home instead. Pray God I stay on track food-wise today!

Goal for round 80 - stay in the 130's. This round will be very challenging as my birthday falls in this one. Have two birthday outings planned this weekend, plus Father's Day and my actual birthday next Wednesday. Back in March I set a goal for 138 by my birthday. But that's pretty aggressive based on where I am today, so my goal will be to stay in the 130's this challenge. (I'm quite proud of my 10.5 lb loss in under 3 months so I'm not disappointed if I don't hit 138 by next Wednesday )
6/12 - 139.3. Nice to start with a drop. Wins yesterday: HIIT/tabata class, lots of water, 4.5 mile walk. The anxiety eating hit midday thanks to homework/final exam prep with my daughter, she's stressed so mom is stressed. Got that under control after a bit and a long walk while she had practice helped with a mind reset, and had a very light dinner to offset. Really need to focus on stress/anxiety management so I don't keep turning to food.
6/13 - 140.7. Up 1.4 lbs in a day?? I'm sad and stressed. Wins yesterday: bodycombat class, hydrated well, stayed in a deficit. Didn't get to walk because of rain. I wasn't the best with food but not as bad as I've been in recent days. Maybe it caught up to me? Maybe too much sodium? Maybe stress showing up? I don't know but I feel defeated after a couple of good days. I know it's normal to bounce around but it still stinks. Will work on drinking tons of water today in hopes that helps the sodium (if that's part of the issue).
6/14 139.3. And 1.4 gone in a day? So weird. But I’ll take it. Wins yesterday: RPM class and 3 mile walk. Hydrated well. Stayed within a deficit. Going out for a late dinner and drinks tonight so will do my best today to prep for that and hopefully not do too much damage on the scale tomorrow.
6/15 -140.9 whoa. Went out for an early birthday celebration. Ate dinner at 9pm and it was salty (Mexican food), and had a few cocktails. I don’t indulge like that often and now I see why! Yikes.
6/16 - 139.6. Coming back down. Wins yesterday: HIIT class, stayed under calorie goal. Drank a lot of water, trying to offset the dehydration from the day before. Not sure how much I’ll lose this round, we will see. Tired of this bouncing around and need to stop indulging so much!
6/17 - 140.2. Sigh. It seems I have a pattern of a day with 13x, a day with 14x. Wins yesterday: 3.5 mile run with my husband, and he pushes my pace so it was about 15 seconds per mile faster than I've been running lately. 2 mile walk. Food wasn't awful but not wonderful, spent the day at the pool with friends so it was a day of mostly snacking and not a full meal. Outside all day so didn't hydrate enough.
6/18 - 140.7. Sigh, again. I'm almost wondering if I need to take a "maintenance break" since I'm not really sticking to any plan this week. I've had a couple of birthday celebrations, plus I'm battling insomnia (it's a lovely perk of PMS for me) and some external stress. Maybe I give myself the mental break from tracking for a couple of days and pick this back up at the next challenge? I might think about that today. Wins yesterday: 4 mile run, 2 mile walk. Hydrated well. Food was OK, not my best day but not my worst. I did snack a little too much but I was in a small deficit based on activity.
6/19 - today is my birthday, so my gift to myself is a mental break. Did not weigh this morning, and am not tracking today. I'm still committed, just need a little break. I've mentioned in other challenges that in the past I've gotten caught in the restrict/binge cycle when I track and try to keep under a calorie goal, and I'm starting to feel those urges a bit. Not sure if I'll jump back in tomorrow or wait until 6/22 when the next challenge starts, but I'm still checking in. Happy Wednesday all!

I haven't slept well in days, and that continued last night because I think my daughter may have sleepwalked??? She came in our room completely incoherent and babbling. She crawled in my bed and promptly fell asleep but I was awake all night after that. That made my decision to not take up any more brain space with my weight this morning since I'm sure it's up. 06/13 145.2 - rough rough day - managed to stay under cal goal, but that's about the only positive.
06/14 145.4 - Walked at work for lunch a couple of miles and rode 2 horses when I got home. Did a decent job nutritionally. Need to get back on track with pushups & plants. Been working to stay under 1200 cal day and bumped it up to 1500 - I don't think losing 2 lbs a week is feasible when you're down to about the last 10. I think my metabolism needs a boost to get moving so I'm going to try 1500-1600 cal daily until July.
06/15 146.4 - Walked 8.5 miles, on my feet most of the day. Did decent foodwise.
06/16 146 - Lots of walking all morning, and then I freakin stress ate all afternoon. Queso & chips, cheeseburger, dip, Big order of McDonald's fries, beer - you name it, I ate lots of it.
06/17 148 - YIKES!! Drinking water & green tea - miserably bloated
06/18 145.6 - I still feel bloated, but at least better this morning. Ate fairly healthy yesterday, got in about 3 miles walking. I'm cautiously optimistic that tomorrow's weigh in should be less.
06/19 146.4 - Jokes on me, most awful PMS I've had in ages. I did well with food yesterday and got in lots of walking. Miserable today - hugely bloated, hungry, cramps, tired, cranky...ugh! I did get one horse riden before work and will do a couple miles at lunch. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

Just trying to stay motivated and keep on going for a few more days - this has to end. I'm hugely bloated, even my hands are swollen.... Did manage to get back the the Rx BC that I've been on for about 8 years. It can't kick in soon enough.

06/12--207.2 Had a great day yesterday... felt in control with my eating. PT today.
06/13--207.4 Went to PT yesterday and he gave me the ok to do my normal weightlifting!!! I haven't talked to him about running, but when I go see him tomorrow I will ask.
06/14--206.3 The loss today is a reflection of me getting my head back in the game. Last round I wasn't as focused and the scale showed a temporary increase, but now that I'm more in control of my eating and I'm back to exercising more the water weight is almost gone and I'm heading back in the right direction. PT today and working out.
06/15--206.1 PT gave me the go ahead to do all my normal weightlifting and to start running...I am so excited!!! I am supposed to start slow, running 1 mile at a time for the first week, but I am glad to be able to run again after almost 1 month of no running. Right after PT I went to the gym and did my weightlifting and it felt great. I may go out for a run today, but I will see how my hip feels after yesterday's workout. Going to work on getting my water in today.
06/16--206.1 Hip felt sore when I woke up yesterday so I didn't run yesterday and just took it easy. Success yesterday was getting my water in and limiting my snacking. Went out for a long walk with the dog this morning and then going to the hairdresser later this morning.
06/17--205.6 I had a late lunch and I wasn't hungry when my husband made dinner. So instead of just eating dinner because it was there I didn't eat it. Instead I had a couple of snacks throughout the evening, including a whole pint of strawberries, and only snacked when I was hungry. I didn't get enough water in yesterday, so working on water today.
06/18--205.9 Went out and ran 1 mile yesterday!!! My first run in over 1 month since my hip injury and so far the hip is feeling good. Trainer tonight,
06/19--206.7 Had my first full-body workout with my trainer in over month and I am so sore today. Started doing box jumps...who knew jumping could be so technical. Hip feels good today, but not sure if I will go out for a run or not later today.
06/20--207.2 I am still so sore today after my workout 2 days ago, prior to my injury I usually only had soreness only 1 days after working out. It's interesting to see how after only 4 weeks of reducing my training I lost some muscle mass. Hoping that now that I am back to my regular workouts my muscle memory results in a quicker recovery that will reduce the DOMS. Trainer tonight.

Day/Weight/Comment
06/12 - 139.6 lbs: no scale movement from yesterday. That's ok, the scale moved a lot last week and I knew it wouldn't last. Yesterday I ate pretty well, way too many eggs though and I'm switching out the Gatorade for Pedialite from now on (only used when I work out in the sun for a couple hours). Also took my measurements yesterday. Figured I'd track the inches since the scale isn't always kind.
06/13 - 138.8 lbs
06/14 - 138.6 lbs: played 6 hours of pickleball yesterday and was totally exhausted but not really hungry after all that time in the sun. Only slept 4 hours, not for lack of trying, and thought the scale would go up because of it. Might need a nap today.
06/15 - 139.2 lbs: there's the gain I expected from lack of sleep the night before. I really need my 8 hrs of sleep, can barely function without it. Today was a solid 3 hours of pickleball play in the sun and a salad for lunch (plus a rewarding hard cider). Planning a protein smoothie for dinner and a good long sleep tonight. Looking forward to the scale going back down tomorrow.
06/16 - 140.4 lbs: barely ate yesterday and worked out a ton. Not sure why the scale went up except TOM "might" be around the corner. It's not a sure thing anymore but I do have a pimple on my chin - a sure sign...
06/17 - 140.2 lbs: glad to see this is moving in the right direction. Played another 3 hours in the sun yesterday and tried to make good food choices but it was Father's Day and we had a few splurges - eggplant parmesan, yum! That's ok, back on track this morning.
06/18 - 139.2 lbs: ate really well yesterday, hard to do when I don't work out. It is TOM, feeling bloated. Going to run around a bunch today, I'm sure that'll help.
06/19 - 138.4 lbs: played a couple hours of p-ball yesterday and kept on track with healthy eating. Glad the scale came back down. Still 1.4 lbs to go to meet the round goal, probably not going to make it but that's ok. Really eye opening to weigh and check in every day and see the ups and downs.
06/20 - 136.8lbs: very busy day yesterday, didn't have much time to eat. Taught a pickleball class, then went straight to our HOA board meeting. Didn't get home til after 9pm, too late to eat much. Happy with the weight, wary about whether or not it'll stick. But, I met the round goal!
