I love the taste of tuna by itself and can eat it all day! However it has to be in sunflower oil. I know this may add or take away something or another but thats fine by me. I love my sunflower oil tuna, its delicious.

If you're not scared of sodium, mix that tuna and mayo with some sugar and soy sauce and put it on eggplant. This is my drunken munchie and study night food of choice.

I like mine with mustard and black pepper :)

Then I realized how much tuna I've been eating and started to worry about the mercury content, so I've pretty much eliminated it for now.

I mix one can of tuna with the one serving sizes of Olive Oil Mayo, Mustard, Relish, and a squirt of Sirachi sauce. Total it comes to 165 calories. I eat it with 12 nabisco salt free rounds for another 160 calories. So total is 325. Yum!

Ketchup only a tablespoon and also a tablespoon of taco bell creamy ranchero sauce. Little on the calorie side but it goes good with tuna IMO.

Only thing I have with Tuna is 50g grated cheese and around 70g cooked broccoli. I microwave the broccoli then add it to the tuna/cheese then nuke it again for like 30-50 secs. Comes out quite well. Works out around 346 Cals - 2 Carbs/42 Protein/19 fat.

Newman's Own Light Sesame Ginger Dressing. 2 tablespoons is only 35 calories and is delicious with tuna. Mix with pre-cut cole slaw, sliced green onions, and slivered almonds for a delicious lunch salad.
  • I use dill relish and spicy brown mustard ~ this is also how I eat my hard boiled eggs!

    CURRIED TUNA

    Ingredients:

    Tuna
    Finely chopped onion - optional
Generous amount of Curry powder - Madras is my favorite, this comes in a tin in the UK
    Fresh Coriander leaves

    Vary quantities as you fancy.

If tinned tuna - keep some of the brine or oil to one side and add after mixing the above to give some moisture.
Should be ok then - but you might like to add some low calorie or fat free mayo if too dry fro you.

Enjoy with a fresh salad topped with balsamic vinegar - and a nice baked potato for a main meal.

Wow, now I describe it - I just have to make this tomoz..

    :)

i agree i think avocado is really good with tuna, but using real mayo isn't bad.. it's a good fat just like avocados. and its definitely good for ya and keeps you satiated for a long period of time

A tin of chopped tomatoes, and then anything from the following, depending on what I have in the house:

    - couple of birds eye chillies (pretty much obligatory)
    - olives
    - capers
    - onion
    - green pepper
    - sweetcorn
    - herbs
    - kidney beans

... and quite often I add some cooked pasta to bulk it into a full meal.

    So many great ideas posted!

    - mix with a bit of teriyaki sauce, coleslaw and chopped green onion
    - light mayo/miracle whip with relish (all different types of relishes out there, not just pickle relish)
    - A bit of whipped cream cheese and sweet chili sauce (this is great with crab too)

I always used mayo but I used a light mayo it's like 1/2 reduced fat and 1/3 reduced sodium and only 35 cals per serving. then I also mix a sprinkle of cheese in it and some sliced up pickles in there too. It is delicious. lol
