What's one habit/ritual/hack that you practice daily to optimize your life?

I had to think about this—
1)I never just jump out of bed because once my dog and cat hear me stirring and stretching they run to kiss me. Love that.
2) I tell my man of 40 years everyday that I love him. Hugs and kisses are good for the soul.
3) I have a home based business and set my timer to step away from my desk for at least 5 minutes every hour.
4) I exercise. This one is so important to my happiness.
5) Daily gratitude. I don’t mean just saying what your grateful for, but *feeling* it. Attitude is everything.
6) Self care rituals with green drinks, vitamins, and skin & hair care. These things just help you feel better about yourself. Take care of yourself, just like you do others.
7) I avoid the news. Especially politics. I feel my blood pressure go up and my hands clenching. That can’t be good...😂9 -

Such a good thread! Hope we can resurrect it...
My hack: I started getting up when I open my eyes. Sounds silly, but I used to just roll over and go back to sleep til my alarm annoyingly woke me. Since I started doing this, I found it easier to go to bed at a reasonable time at night, I fall asleep faster, and I sleep deeper, longer.
When I first started, I was waking up at 4:30-5, which was a bit brutal for me, but I quickly shifted to 6-7am. I now feel more rested and have better energy all day, every day. Oh and I no longer need/use an alarm!5 -
I love this thread! Here is what I do:
-Have all of my workout clothes ready to go for when I wake up early in the morning.
-Pack my lunch before I go to bed, which means weighing everything. Sometimes I log it too. If I don't log it, I write it on a post-it and log it at work the next day
-Every night before I fall asleep I review my day and try to find "micro" wins--small things that happened or I did that was a "win". I will also review micro fails and think about how I can improve
-I've been putting my phone down so I can be more in the moment with my family. If we go out to dinner I used to put my phone beside my plate. Now I keep it in my purse
-I'm not one for meal prep so I try to buy healthy foods that I can grab on the go3 -
I meal plan weekly and we grocery shop every Sunday. I use an app called Plan to Eat where I store all of the recipes I make, drag and drop into a calender, adjust serving sizes, and it makes my grocery list. HIGHLY recommend (it is $5 per month). I have the app on my phone and check off items as I buy.
Sunday afternoons I prep all my lunches and snacks for the work week and prelog MFP.
I have a sunrise alarm clock that is really nice, it gradually wakes me up with light rather than annoying sounds.
I prep my gym clothes and pack my work clothes every evening.
I use facial lotion with SPF every morning and gently cleanse and moisturize every night.
ALWAYS have my water bottle with me.2 -
Take a little time to myself at the end of the day before bed. This could be reading, watching tv, playing games on the ipad, or crafting. But regardless of how tired I am and how late it is, I no longer feel capable of going to bed without at least a few minutes of personal down time.2

1. Meal prep and having a stash of decent portable meals at work for when I don't bring a lunch and am tempted to buy crappy fast food.
2. bringing my gym bag with me everywhere. Having it ready to go and giving me one less excuse or reason to not hit the gym because I didn't have time to get it ready before going to work....cause if I have to go home I find it very difficult to motivate myself to leave
3. Logging into mfp and reading the forums because it gets me in the right head-space.5
