    Hi All - can someone tell me how to reply to a specific post that someone makes - if I am reading posts that people added say 1 or 2 days ago? I know that I can send them a message which I think is private, but if I just want to put in a reply that everyone can see, is there a way of doing this?
    Sarah, this is the only way that I know of, other than sending a personal message, of replying to a specific post. I just highlighted and then copy/paste. Unfortunately MFP is not like Facebook in that you can't reply to a post within the post.
    Allie, my sincerest condolences on the loss of your beloved father in law. I know his passing will leave a huge hole in your heart but I hope that the good memories will help you bear the loss. {{{HUGS}}}
    Kelly, anything on the baby front yet? Hope you are enjoying your time with Joaquin!
    Kim, so glad you were able to salvage so much good food from the camp. I wonder why they don't have a generator? If this is something that will be happening on a regular basis, it may be something for them to consider.
    Heather, the cruise photos are amazing! And you both looked great in the birthday finery photo! I also enjoyed seeing the pic of you with your boys from the celebration with the family.
    The power outages in California were even mentioned in our local paper, it was a small blurb in the interior of the paper and I might have missed it had I not already been aware of them, but still.... Glad to hear that you didn't lose power, peaceful vibes to you regarding your mom's visit ~~~~~~
    Well, this is sort of a miracle, I'm all caught up with you! lol I opened the site a few days ago and there were over 200 posts! Apparently I've been busy.....
    I got lazy last week, made it to the gym on Sunday and Monday, but then had a bunch of chores to do before I went back to work on Wed and we had plans for Tues afternoon, so I bailed on the gym in the morning and did my housework instead. In the afternoon we went to the museum and checked out the Mayan exhibit there. Quite interesting, and quite incredible how these artifacts have survived, some of them VERY well, for all these thousands of years. This is the first time these artifacts have been outside of Guatemala, hubby was disappointed, felt there should be more, I was pretty impressed with what there was. Somewhat expensive tho, $28 each to get into the museum, we could have stayed there all day, you can tour the entire museum as well as the "special" displays, but as we drove downtown we also had to pay for parking. At $3 per hour, we didn't want to stay too long! We paid for two hours, that did give us enough time to tour the exhibit, but not to see anything else. There was a fair walking involved, so not a total washout for exercise, although I don't usually count that kind of stuff. Then just could not get to bed early enough to get up early enough to hit the gym before work. Oh well, next week! I will be going for a walk with a friend tomorrow (Sunday) morning, but then Monday it's the gym! Oh wait a minute, Monday is our Thanksgiving and I'm hosting a dinner..... Will have to see how much prep I can get done on Sunday. I can usually get desserts made, and veggies and stuffing prepped, rinse the turkey so it's ready for the oven, do that all on Sunday and then Monday is easy-peasy.
    Eating has been kind of hit and miss the last few weeks and the scale is reflecting that, sadly. Although I know a good deal of it is fluid, but it is still a bit frustrating. No one to blame but me, of course, but..... sigh :s
    Enough of my novel for now. Hugs to those needing them, congrats to those celebrating (Rita, congrats on getting off on of your scripts!) and welcome to the newbies!
    Evelyn, enjoying the sun on Vancouver Island

    Hi Sarah.
    If you tap quote under the original message it will appear in the reply box. If you want to you can shorten the original post by deleting some of the lines,. The [quote..] and [/quote] need to be kept in the original message. Hope this helps.

    :)Sarah, besides quoting the post you want to reply to, you can do what I'm doing---put the person's name in bold (see the B at the top) and put their name between the lines and b's that show up. Then they know that you talking to them directly.

    Day started off well. Got chores started. Some papers sorted, got shopping done. When I got home my knee was hurting. It flared up Thursday while I was walking down some stairs. Thought it was just from heels I was wearing and would tone down. I have problems with my IT band. Evidently since I stopped taking anti-inflammatory (since it was all feeling better) it has flared back out. Thought I would roll out the band a bit and when the roller went over the band it almost made me ill it hurt so much. So back to anti-inflammatories. Have iced everything well several times today and just doing walking around house I need to get chores done. Will get appointment with doctor on Monday so I can get an evaluation. Think maybe some cortisone and physical therapy may be in order. Will try to behave until then.

    On the plus side, laundry and ironing done. Made a crock pot of turkey chili (trying a new recipe). Haven't tried it yet but I cooked it without tasing it. Will have some tomorrow. Also took advantage of icing times to get bills paid and some more papers sorted. Figured that just because I have to sit more doesn't mean I can accomplish something.

    Have a good evening/day all.

    Ginny in Ohio.

    thank you all.. he is at peace.. I am so glad that I stayed the night and was there for him, I contacted Tom at around 2:45 to say the end was near, and he got there around 3:45 and he died at 6:02 .. we were both there and talked with him and told him to rest and let go..Pneumonia is a horrible thing to watch a loved one drown .. but it was time it was swift and less than 48 hrs...
    all the wonderful people there that work and have taken care of him , came in to pay there respects and they all loved that old salty guy...

    I feel like a deflated balloon, came home and slept for a couple hours, went and got Alfie and will rest the rest of the day..

    Very sorry Allie, it's good that you were there. Now it is your turn to rest. :heart:

    You can also attract a person's attention to a message by putting @ right before their name. Then a notification will come up for that person.

    @Latestarter2018

    And Sarah is right below. You can delete lines you don't want to reply to. You can also break it up and reply to different sections. Just start the section with [ quote. ] and end it with [ /quote. ].

    Managed to walk 5.3 miles this evening with no stopping at all and in my best ever time. Apparently I am not a fan of walking in the cold and this motivated me to move faster. First freeze warning of the season here, brrrr, I am definitely not ready.

    Did the Abs Diet Workout DVD. The plan for tomorrow is to do a Denise Austin Hot Body Yoga DVD.

    Karen – Josephine looks so grown up. Now she can change the color of her hair at any time she wants to.

    Made brownies for Vince still have to cut them up), banana chocolate bread for the new neighbors and Vince, chocolate bran muffins, plan to make sausage cheese balls for rummikub Tuesday and ziti for Vince for later in the week. Update: I'm not crazy about the brownies, I probably won't use this recipe again. It's a bit surprising since it's a Martha Stewart recipe

    About cruises: I know that St. Kitts has very very strict regulations about bringing pets to the island as they don’t have any rabies. None at all. And they want to keep it that way

    M – thanks for sharing those pics with us. I can hardly imagine.

    Allie – sending healing thoughts. Know that you did everything humanly possible for you FIL and are continuing to do so. There’ll be a special place in heaven for you

    Kim – phew! Thanks for letting us know you’re OK

    One positive to this broken bridge until it’s fixed is that I tend to not want to eat for fear that I’ll eat on the left side of my mouth

    Am finishing the book “Dewey”. This is a great book for any cat lover. I was crying at the end, Vince said “if that’s what that book does to you, I definitely don’t want to read it”. It’s sad how he came to be at the library and sad at the end.

    Went to see the community theater’s production of “the mystery of erma vep”. Pretty funny.
