THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

10/30 -183.6-
10/31 -183.6- My husband had an appointment yesterday so we had a fast food lunch. Calories were over but I am trying to keep them to about 1400 when I don't formally exercise. I was more active than normal yesterday and will be today even though I may not get to do actual exercise. For me, part of this is learning to have a healthy relationship with food in different circumstances and not to let anxiety get the best of me when I know things are not going according to my planned routine.
11/01 -183.7- Staying pretty steady.
11/02 -183.7- I have been a wreck mentally and emotionally the last few days. I overate a lot yesterday trying to quell the nausea I got from eating yogurt I spent two days making! I generally can't eat dairy products though
I keep trying for some reason. Lactaid helps but I forgot to take it. I think I am back on track today. My thought for the day: Good and bad things, sometimes really bad things, happen and I cannot fall back into using food to sooth myself when they do! I will think about other coping strategies today and make a list. I started crocheting a scarf last night to keep my hands and mind busy.

Round 93 was the best of the the last few rounds. I’m stuck to some of my plans and it’s seems to be working.
Day/Weight/Comment
Oct 30 - 187.4- trying to limit the night time snacking is proving difficult, but I’m eating lighter during the day to make it still within reason.
Oct 31 - 188.2 - up a bit because of some take out yesterday. Probably will be tomorrow too if I know my boss.
Nov 1 - 188.8 - I have to be good today. Yesterday didn’t go so well food wise.
Nov 2 - 188.4 - didn’t have a good day yesterday either. I need to figure out lunches better.
9 -
Goals this round.... Little to no added sugar; no flour products; calories below maintenance. I’m setting up my own system to track the days I stick to those goals. This round I will check in daily on my goals, but weigh only on days 5 and 10 as an experiment. And I’m considering this round a new restart.

We had to go to Indianapolis yesterday, so I spent driving calories, about 7 hours worth between there and back and around Indy. I did stick pretty much with good food choices until late evening when I had some ice cream. But I’m determined to eat properly the rest of this round. Thank you all for your inspirations, examples, and support.
10/31 - xx
Happy Halloween & Blessed Samhain! So far I’ve successfully ignored the candy sitting on the counter for this evening’s spooky little beggars, but I was not so successful with the zucchini bread or calories at last night’s Master Gardener meeting. But today is a new day.
11/1 - xx
Goals yesterday....I did have a little added sugar (1 Reese’s pumpkin from the trick or treat bowl) and a small bowl of lime sherbet), but mostly I ate very healthy. No flour products. Calories not great but not bad. And I finished painting my bathroom. Yay! Now on to the hallway. Have a lovely weekend, all!
11/2 - xx
I cheated a bit (again) last night. House painting makes me hungry! We’re meeting a friend for dinner this evening — she’s in town for the dog show and I haven’t seen her since this time last year. We met on the train from Nevada to Chicago in 2011 — I love chance meetings like that that stick. Enjoy the weekend, all!

11/01 141.4 Awesome Halloween party. Had dinner at home first, and only had 4 watered down rum and waters, and a glass of wine...so all good
11/02 139.6 Today I made a spinach salad with warm bacon dressing. A first for me...and my hubby's ex made this dish perfectly...so I got a wee bit drunk and well, the salad was a success....but why did I have to get so nervous....It makes no sense....we have a very balanced and healthy relationship.

Original Starting Weight- 242
Ultimate Goal Weight- 121 (half my size)
Round 94 Goal- keep the high number under 150. And 142 by New Years so one LB per round.
10/30- 149.8
10/31- 148.4
11/1- 149.6
11/2- 150.2 ugh, 13 days under 150 and then this bump. I’ve increased workouts in the last few days so maybe muscle and water? I’m disappointed because I can always feel ok if I bump up after slacking off or enjoying an occasional treat but to bump up when I’m being so good just bums me out. I’m not giving up.9 -

11/1-No Scale. I spent the night at my dad’s and made him birthday dinner. He is 82 and his friends came to celebrate. They continued to drink well into midnight. I got up in the morning, and drove all of the way home.
11/2-171-Long hours in the car.
I am going walk away from this round and will catch back up with you on 11/11 in round Round 95. I leave for a week long quilting retreat on Monday. No scale and a lot of sitting. I have a bag of nuts and dark chocolate. My goal is to not eat anything off of the snack table or any of the bread, noodles or dessert served. I’ll bring my walking shoes.
Have a good weekend everyone!😊☕️9 -

NEVER GIVE UP! You can surprise yourself! I have.
What we need to succeed is a sustainable way of eating, not a DIET we go on and off.
This is NOT A DIET. It’s a LIFESTYLE.

10/30 120.5 Great workout yesterday but terrible headache this morning. I know it’s the arthritis in my neck and it will pass. I changed some settings Senza so it adjusts my calories according my burn at the gym so I had more calories but was still under 10g total carbs. I’m sure the uptick is water retention for muscle recovery. HoopsGuy72, you have inspired me! Carl went to the gym and I’m getting ready to go myself!
10/31 121.0 I enjoyed the gym yesterday! WHAT??? Unfortunately, maybe too much. My left shoulder and both of my ankles hurt. I will probably go this morning but take it easy.
11/1 121.0 Limited workout yesterday but skipping the gym today. Going to a craft show at World Market with a friend. She needs to buy prizes for a charity shoot she has arranged.
11/2 121.0 DH has poker this afternoon so I will go to the gym then. I am going back to my old every other day schedule from 10-11 years ago.9 -

This is my third complete round, lost a few pounds on the first go round, maintained last round, hoping to drop a pound this time around. More would be welcomed, but as I’m within the healthy weight range for my height, I’ve round it gets harder and harder to drop and keep it off. But y’all are inspiring me, and I haven’t gone off target/plan since joining these challenges, so thanks HEAPS!

10/30 157.6 SMH, I'm up .2 pounds from yesterday, the end of round 93. Stress eating though, due to death in the family, so hoping I can overcome this soon.
10/31 156.4 No excitement... on our way home from our walk with the dogs, I had my mind on my brother, on a song that wouldn't leave my head, everywhere except on where I was putting my feet. Stepped 1/2 off the asphalt, twisted and sprained my right ankle and wrist, bruised and scraped my left knee, shin and elbow, and my cheek bone bounced off a nice big stone! So... no treat on my Halloween, just tricks! ROFL Have a great Halloween y'all, I will, but now, from a sitting position! ROFL
11/01 ? Ankle was too sore to balance on the scale

Will this be the round that I hit my goal for this year? It will be if I get serious and end the eating out. My goal for this round is at least a two pound loss.
10/30 284.6 This bounce up is nothing more than the usual ovulation bounce up. I actually went back over my weight and ovulation times to prove it to myself. If all goes the same as the past it should be gone tomorrow or at worst in two days.
10/31 282.2 And the whoosh. I do have a small family party and eat out planned today, but I preplanned them and know what I can have to stay in calorie goals. I might still see a bounce tomorrow from sodium, but I’m positive I will reach my goal for this year by Monday at the latest.
11/01 281.4 I stayed on plan yesterday! I wasn’t expecting another drop today, but I’m happy seeing it. This loss puts me a little under my 100 pound loss goal for this year. I’m going to shoot for at least another 8 before the Christmas holiday.
11/02 280.4 I’m sure this freefall will end soon. I suspected that I had been retaining water for awhile now from the new exercise bike, but I didn’t think it was this much.

10/30--206.5 Finished W3D1 of c25k yesterday. Another great fall day to go out and run. Strength coach tonight.
10/31--206.3 Tough workout with my coach yesterday, but I am definitely seeing progress. This morning I decided to try on these boots I haven't been able to wear for the past 2 years because my calves had gotten too big. Well, not only am I wearing them today, but I also have my jeans tucked into them!
11/01--207.6 I'm not surprised about the jump. Between soreness from my workout 2 days ago, not great sleep last night, and lack of water over the past 2 days, the jump on the scale was expected. Goal for today is to drink water. I finished W3D2 last night. Tonight is the gym.
11/02--207.6 Yesterday I reintroduced a food into my diet that I was tested as sensitive to almost a year ago. I'm supposed to reintroduce the food over 3 meals and then see how it affects me over the next 1-3 days. Well, after eating the food for only one meal yesterday, I can already tell that it still affects me, so I'm not going to be eating anymore of it. There is definite bloating and heaviness this morning, so I'm surprised there wasn't a jump in the scale today, but that may change over the next couple of days. My plan is to make sure I drink a lot of water today. Movie and dinner with a friend tonight.

10/30 131.8, just made it below 25 for my BMI at the end of last round. Hoping to have a good round since the holidays will likely be harder to lose (will be happy to maintain)
10/31 132, I went to a basketball game and had a hot dog and popcorn so this number is welcomed for the amount of salt I had. I’m ok if this is higher over the next couple of days, but will be back on normal food and exercise today
11/01 131.9
11/02 131.9, out of town until Monday and going to a college football game today so food may be less than ideal but it’s my only game this year so will enjoy

Round 94 – Oct. 30 to Nov. 7/ 2019
Female, 5’, 66 years. Goals – finish calorie log each day, only yogurt or fruit in the evening and nothing after 9 p.m. SW – 163.4, GW – 162, UGW – 140. (This really should be 125 or 130 but that seems like such a long ways to go and 140 would be a huge improvement.) Planning to get my winter gym membership this round and get back to regular 2-3 times a week workout. Before that though will take a few days of catch up and plan.
Day/Weight/Comment
10/30 – 163.4 – Not such a great day, but didn’t go totally overboard and now am finished with the Tues. p.m. class. Also got a skiff of snow so the next 3 days I’m going to spend tidying up outside and putting leaves through the chopper and then I’m done with outside stuff! Yay, and back to the gym for my exercise.
10/31 – 164.2 – This is what I expected to see yesterday. Getting close to my all-time high weight. Good day yesterday though, no LNS and reasonable meals. No exercise but did do a gym membership online last night. We have a concert coming up beginning of Dec. and I either must shrink around the middle or get a new top. This is my last year with them so just want to keep the old one. I am doing an online sewing/fitting class so had to take detailed measurements – we’ll see how far I can get this round and in Nov.
11/01- 164.8 – I think; slept in and had to run off to a funeral but I did weigh.
11/02- 164.4 – Clean house day and work on sewing class (no exercise there). I did do some morning exercise though.

10/30: 292.0 lbs (+1.4) .. bit of an uptick this morning, nothing too bad. Most likely going to take it pretty easy today aside from some walking.
10/31: 290.9 lbs (-1.1) … back down near my current low weight. Had a good run this morning, 3 miles over 40 minutes. It was warmer than normal for this time of year, but rainy. The rain felt pretty good though! I have my second strength training personal trainer session this evening after work, then I’m manning the door for trick or treaters for the remainder of the evening.
11/01: 292.2 lbs (+1.3) … pushed my calories yesterday slightly higher than I have for the past week or so, and ate a bit more carb-heavy than typical. I’m just glad that I’m hovering in the 290-292 range instead of staying at 295 like I was for the last few weeks.
11/02: 292.4 lbs (+0.2) … didn’t go out for a run this morning as planned… my legs were really sore from the gym on Thursday night. We’ll see how I feel in the morning. Likely going to take it easy today and rest.

10/29 …..188.0….. ENDING WEIGHT LAST ROUND
10/30 …..188.0 ….. Travel today for my Mammogram & Oncology check. A routine remission check for breast cancer previous. Today will be inactive as I travel & will contain restaurant foods. Not a good way to start a round, but I’ll try to stay focused as much as my willpower will allow. Yesterday’s stats: 1273 Calories In / 2617 Calories Out. 25 Net Carbs. 17,508 Total Steps & 7.41 Total Miles. 12/13 Fitbit Step Hours. I slept 4 hours on the button. Up early to prepare for trip. I went for a hall walk in the school (cold outside) for 124 minutes at about 3.0 mph. The extra calorie burn was 694. Good luck everyone this round.
10/31 …..190.2 ….. Golden Corral. Need I say more? An AMAZING place to a country bumpkin like me! Cancer center appointment revealed no breast cancer-yay! Still in remission in that sense. However, they have found a nodule on my lung during a chest X-Ray. It was done because of some symptoms I’m experiencing, especially during exercise or hiking. The size and location is concerning, especially given my age and cancer/family history. They could not fit me in for the CT Scan (busy University of Michigan Hospital). So I am home and will go to my nearest hospital ASAP (about an hour away) and have it done. They will send it back to the University for interpretation. They are also setting me up for the BRCA and genetic testing. Listening to their explanation, its AMAZING stuff. They find out the likeliness of ANYTHING that shows up in your genetic testing (combined with family history info). Example: if it shows up possible colon problems in my future, I would be assigned a gastrologist that will perform colonoscopies more frequently and monitor my digestive health routinely. If cancer or another illness pops up, it is found very quickly with a much higher likelihood of successful repair. In the meantime, I’m not going to lie, after having already went through cancer once, I am shaking in my shoes. Breast Cancer often metastasizes to the lung, so I’m very nervous. And I’m so far from everything here where I live. If I have cancer again, this time around my husband is not alive to help me, to cover me at the home business or to travel with me. Just my Autistic son who doesn’t drive. Our nearest treatment center is 90 minutes away on 65mph roads. And the snow we got today is still coming down. All prayers and hugs appreciated.
11/01 …..188.0 ….. Oops. I had my weight listed too high yesterday. Still a nice whoosh back down today after the travel. Thanks to all of you (wow, so many!) that has given me the hugs and is wishing me well during my medical issues right now. It means more than you know…. Yesterday I pre-logged my food and didn’t end up eating 250 of the calories and 3 of the carbs so here is my accurate stats: 797 Calories In / 2459 Calories Out. 12 Net Carbs. 14,002 Total Steps & 5.92 Total Miles. 13/13 Fitbit Step Hours. I slept 6 hours & 15 minutes. I walked for 103 minutes at 2.5 mph for a total extra calorie burn of 463. You guys are all the best!!!!!
11/02 …..188.0 ….. I am thankful to the scale today. I ate some wrong things for sure last night, made some wrong choices. I was starting to eat my emotions about the health issues which will only make things worse! For therapy I looked back at my rounds starting in about round 70 (March & April 2019) because I remember how I started to really put on more weight (had already gained some during the Christmas Holidays). Not only was it Easter, but more importantly it was when my sister got gravely ill, then died. I know I was eating my emotions during that time and it is weight gain that I am still battling 6/7 months later. This morning, looking back at my gains during that emotional time, I hope it will help to keep me in check. I’ve got to work on dealing with worry, anxiety, depression or pain without the use of food to comfort me. It starts with realization. I’m there. I am going to work hard on this. Yesterday’s stats: 1551 Calories In / 2585 Calories Out. 78 Net Carbs. 16,472 Total Steps & 6.97 Total Miles. 12/13 Fitbit Step Hours. I slept 6 hours & 38 minutes. I Hall walked the school with my walking partner for 107 minutes at about 3.0 mph burning an extra 612 calories. Sorry for another wordy entry. I just hope some of my realizations help others. Tracking and keeping the data is so informational!

11/02 - 68.9kg - on another scale as well so very pleased!
11/03 - 70kg - Not surprised and expected it! Spent all of today grazing - healthy stuff but too much and spent 4 hours at a gig, drinking and dancing. Should remedy itself by today!

55 lbs lost since returning to MFP, Oct. 2017
69 (76.8) lbs lost since Sept. 201710 -
So I am back for another round. My goals will be the same as last since I didn't make any progress in round 93. I would like to be under 144.0 for every weigh-in and have at least 60% of them be under 142.0. My husband turns 39 on the 7th and our last weigh-in is the day after. We also have to deal with Halloween, so this round may be a little tricky. Although I know I am kind of being selfish, but I really want to get out of the 140's, so I have decided not to pass out candy this year. All 5 of my kids will be out or doing other things, so I am not going to temp myself at all. I guess not having any little kids anymore makes this year a little easier. I do feel guilty about the other neighborhood kids, but I am taking this year off and not bringing bags of candy into the house.
(I only include the last 5 rounds of results)
Round 89: 147.0 - 143.7 Avg 144.99
Round 90: 143.7 - 140.9 Avg 142.68
Round 91: 140.9 - 143.6 Avg 143.62
Round 92: 143.6 - 141.5 Avg 142.01
Round 93: 141.5 - 142.3 Avg 143.21
10/30 - 140.7 Finally!!!! A new low!!! Now it's only by 2/10 of a pound, but I am taking it and running. Was on track all day yesterday and stuck to my no alcohol. Will do the same today and hope for another, hopefully bigger drop tomorrow.
10/31 - 140.7 same as yesterday. So I am ending October with an entire 2/10 of a pound loss. Not thrilled, but I have to accept it and move on. The good news is my monthly moving average is down 2.2 pounds according to my happy scale. I am pretty much losing about a pound to a pound and a half a month right now. I am at about 22.5 on my BMI chart, so in the healthy range and am ok with how my clothes fit. I think it's just vanity that I want to weigh in the 130's, lol. I don't really think anything is going to change if the scale says 140.7 or 138.7, but it will make me happy, so I will continue working on it. No alcohol again last night and stayed on track food wise. I have only drank 2 days out of the last 10 and that is huge for me, so I am going to continue trying to go that route for a couple more weeks.
11/01 - 141.5 So my husband finally made tenure yesterday and got a really nice raise. We knew he was being re-evaluated, but it was way better than we could have imagined. Plus he got a really nice bonus and we can finally pay some bills off that we have putting off. Having 2 kids in college and another one starting next year is sometimes hard on the wallet, lol. That being said we celebrated last night with a couple of drinks and Chinese food. He wanted to go out, but I made it at home instead. The chicken egg rolls (I only had 1) went into the air fryer, the fried rice was made with low sodium soy sauce (husband could not even tell the difference), and baked some chicken to go with it. I only had 4 oz of Crown and nothing else. I was really good! I don't think I deserve this uptick, but maybe even using the low sodium soy sauce it was more than I should have had. We will see tomorrow. It was a celebration and don't regret the 1 pound at all. TGIF!!!!
11/02 - 139.7 yes, yes, yes!!!! Finally and it’s real, but now here comes the weekend. I always gain during the weekend no matter what. Maybe this will be my motivation to be really good.

My goal is to remain consistent with my calories and under my daily target. I'll do this by eating high protein meals and lots of vegetables which keep me full, and snacking on apples if I want something in the evening. In the last round, I managed to do this 7 out of the 10 days and in this round I want to do better.
Round 93: SW 71.9kg EW 70.7kg (-1.2 kg / -2.6 lbs)
10/30 70.7kg - under calorie target; exercised
10/31 70.7kg - under calorie target
11/01 70.4kg - under calorie target; exercised
11/02 70.3kg - 750 calories over target; exercised
11/03 71.1kg - I had to amend yesterday's comment as I ate more chocolate after posting and ended up way over my calorie target for the day. Hoping I have more willpower today.

Ready for my round 31
OSW 88KG
RSW 60.5 kg (-27.5kg) or {- 60.5 lbs}
Goal... Less than I started
10/30 60.15kg all went well yesterday until a few nuts in the evening. Still under maintenance calories but over goal. 45 mins strength training done in the gym but no aerobics later as still injured.
10/31 60.15kg and a perfect calorie, macro and exercise day yesterday.
11/01 60.7kg getting under 60kg is taking time... But I'll get there. Gym done this morning but injury getting worse.
11/02 59.95kg back down here. Have to rest the injury but can do upper body training in the gym next week. Going to keep on with what I'm doing but be very mindful of calories. Would love to see a new low this wknd
11/03 59.5kg but after the wknd indulgence I doubt it'll stick around for long! Impromptu party yesterday and I ate over calories but I still kept it Keto. Will not complain about future blips up next week but will be focusing on staying under calories.

Day/Weight/Comment
10/30 - 67,5 - still TOM. I wonder what my data is going to show in the end, it’s the first time I am tracking everything this well. So I am unbothered by the ups and downs. I feel sore but good. Excited for this new 10 day focus challenge.
10/31 - 66,7 - is this water flushed out post TOM ? Maybe (probably). Data inputted in my spreadsheets and feeling a bit lighter :-). Also took my measurements (twice a month) and got some nice losses there as well.
11/01 - 66,8 - walked a lot and worked out as well. Feeling tired but very good.
11/02 - 66,9 - meh, DOMS I imagine since my calories have not changed one iota in these last couple of days.
11/03 - 66,7 - going down a bit. Still wondering if it’s DOMS.8
