11/26 - RAN 3.16 miles
11/27 - RAN 1.51 miles (14.05 total, 4.05 OVER GOAL)
11/28 - walked 3.41 miles
Did my own personal Thanksgiving Walk yesterday. Was a cold 33F, and the weather kinda matched my mood, TBH. This was my 1st major holiday away from my family. (I'm with my BF & his kids, but MY kids, mum & brother are all still in FL)
My plan called for a 30 min walk. Knew I am always going to walk more. I planned to do 3 miles. Then, I decided, hey, lets make is a 5K. Got lost in my thoughts & ended up going a little beyond.8 -

The last time I got lost in my thoughts, the first responders used tweezers to rescue me.
@mbaker566 Good Trotting. Looks like you had fun

Photos from our Turkey Trot are up - this is my husband and me at the finish. I think this is the first photo I’ve ever seen of myself running where I wasn’t wearing sunglasses and you can see my eyes. I look so serious! By the way I love my jacket, the vents on the front zip open when you get hot and there are vents over the back, under the arms, and on the forearms.
Since @mbaker posted a shot of the donut line at her trot I got curious and looked at the photos to see if there was one of our line. This is about half of the donut line - the time stamp on this photo is 11:15 and the gun time was 9:30! By 11:15 I think my husband and I had gone home already!4 -
@mbaker566 it's the middle of the night and you've successfully made me want donuts! Congrats on your race and sorry about the little kids. Most races over here have a 16 year old age limit and I'm quite thankful for that3

@mbaker566 well done for getting out there. I want donuts too now 😂4

they are very good donuts too made by a local bakery.

You know I don't eat donuts... but back when I did, I would have totally been able to eat most of those!2 -
Yep, definitely not going to reach goal for Nov. But I did tape up my achilles and run 8.24 miles in light rain. A guy out bundled up and walking his dog said, "Are you a duck?" It was just misting, not even really enough to qualify as rain anyway. Ugh.9

Last time I ran in the rain a guy walking a dog shouted "go home, you lunatic" at me 😂7 -
@quilteryoyo – Beautiful waterfall. Glad you had a nice visit with your family.
@rheddmobile and @mbaker566 – Congratulations on your races!

I didn't get a chance to post my run yesterday, but I did get to run 6.25 miles in the morning before my daughter got here and we went to my sister's for Thanksgiving dinner. It was a great run. I was worried that it would be raining, but it wasn't. It was pretty chilly and there were lots of puddles, but it wasn't bad. I ran pretty fast and ended up with a 10K PR. I have never had an opportunity to run a 10K race, so all of my 10K PRs are from training runs. Garmin said I ran it in 1:00:04 and Strava said 59:43 so I'm not sure if it was a sub 1 hour 10k, but at least it was an hour 10K. I feel like I could get a sub 1 hour in an actual race. My previous fastest 10K was 1:04:53 so I was pretty pleased. My next run isn't until Sunday so I guess I am ending November with 108 miles. Congrats to all who ran Turkey Trots! I'll see you all over in the December thread. Who wants to set it up?

I went out to run this morning before my strength class - I planned to run outside from the gym for 5 miles and then go to strength class. I set out from the parking lot and immediately discovered all the pavement was super slick with a thin layer of black ice. I almost fell three times just getting across the street so I decided it was not worth it, especially as I'd have to run on the side of the kind of busy road for parts of it. I sadly retreated and headed in to change and run on the treadmill.
The run did not feel great and I talked myself in and out of stopping several times. Because of the wasted time of changed plans I didn't quite make 5 miles but I was happy enough that I at least stuck it out.
I'm 4.1 miles short of my goal and I have a 5k tomorrow, so i'm going to need to tack on an extra mile at some point.

@dreamer12151 Glad you got out and did your own walk. Sorry you were feeling down. Hope the walk helped.
@rheddmobile Nice photo of you. I would not have stood in that line for a "free" donut either. I'd rather go have a nice breakfast somewhere.
Thanks @Teresa502 .
@kgirlhart Sounds like you had a great run. Either way, that's a fantastic time.3 -

Today I had the first of the two 20 milers in my plan. It didn't start out so well. Firstly I overslept by about an hour, then by the time I got out I ran about 300m down the road and my headphones died. I checked them last night to make sure I'd plugged them in to charge, but apparently I didn't notice that the USB was loose. I turned around to go back to the house, I had another pair of headphones which only last about 2 hours when fully charged, I'd already run 45 minutes with them yesterday but I figured I'd at least have music for half my run. I left the house again, but accidentally pocket dialled my Dad so I had to fumble with my phone and quickly chat to him for a few minutes. In the meantime, my cat decided to follow me! So I had to pick her up and carry her back into the house. FINALLY I could start my run!
My headphones made it to 16km, but I was OK with finishing the rest in silence.
I've been thinking a bit over the last week after my race last weekend, about the fact that even though I didn't "race" my time was only 4 minutes slower than my PB even though the course was more difficult than when I set my PB. I really think it's because I went into the race with a totally different mindset. I was relaxed and prepared to just run at a pace comfortable to enjoy. I didn't get caught up in the usual go out too fast, bank time, obsess over my splits, push myself then fade out at the end like I tend to do in every other race. I think it proves that if I just stick to running races exactly like I've trained for them, then I'll actually have better results and a better experience overall. I knew all this logically, but actually doing it in practice last weekend really opened my eyes.
Happy belated Thanksgiving to all that celebrateSee you in December

Great insight @kristym . I have my first real race in a long time this coming Saturday. My goal is to make myself run as I have trained and not obsess over time. We shall see.
Thanks for setting up the Dec thread @katharmonic !
@Tramboman Great job on your fastest 7K! Those faster runs always feel great.2
