What are some of your favorite sounds?

Certain birds, ocean waves, cheeks clapping, babbling brooks, the Aurora Borealis or Aurora Australis?

Aside from the obvious being my kids having fun or showing off their skills I would say a marsh near a forest waking up at dawn, a flat-6 accelerating out of a corner or a jet engine.

How about you?

The sound of a man singing deep bass. Gives me ASMR if I’m sitting close enough

My baby cat’s purrrip noise she makes running up the stairs. She does a smaller version of the noise when I surprise her or she’s answering me but too lazy to meow.

    Hi! Have we met?

Fifty percent of me feels like what you’re really trying to do is point out that you’re a man who sings deep bass without actually saying “I’m a man who sings deep bass”. Don’t feel exposed, I’m just REALLY good at reading people and guessing their most secret motives.

But the other 60% is thinking you’re really just greeting me with a standard American pleasantry.

    I’m torn

I can dig that. They were deafening here this summer. I couldn't hear much else when I was outside.

Do you get the periodic ones? People were having accidents several years back as they covered the roads.

We don't always have them, so I'd say yes. Another reason I appreciate the sound even more.....

I suppose I did miss them when they stopped, but it was incredible that is was hard to hear the airline traffic over them.
