🌟Women 200lb+, Let's Jump-Start This January!!!🌟6 -
I posted this in another thread last night but wanted to share with this thread ,after all this is my favorite one! 😊: Had a busy day and while out running errands my husband looks at me and says," I really think it's time to buy some new pants". I had to laugh because he was right. I had been putting it off. So I looked around and grabbed a couple different pair in different sizes not really sure what would fit. For the first time in probably 15 years I fit into a 14 with some room ! I have a long way to go still but what a great feeling! When I started this journey in April I was wearing a loose 24w or a snug 22w. Been smiling all day!! 😊12

GGGGGGOOOOOOOOAAAAAALLLLL! Yesterday I was 240 pounds!
Today I am 238.6 pounds!!!

Weekly check-in:
H: 5'10"
SW: 275.0
Nov 30: 245.0
Dec 6: 239.0 (-6 lb/month)
Dec 13: 236.0 (-9 lb/month)
Dec 20: 234.4 (-10.6 lb/month)
Dec 27: 232.0 (-13 lb/month)

I had a pretty stressful weekend and binged a bit because of it. But I'm back to my weight from Friday, and that's 13 lbs down from the end of last month, so I'll take it!
I've got to admit, I'm looking forward to my kids going back to school next week. I need my regular workout schedule back!

SW 262.8
CW 207.6
12/6. 210.6
12/13 209.6
12/20. 210.4
12/27 212.8
12/31 212.4
Congratulations to all who succeeded in spite of the holidays. Well done!
I finished the month with a 4.8 lb gain. Lots of celebrating this month didn’t help. Also, my binge eating disorder reared it’s head a few times including last night. Two more days of celebrating to get through.
I am both glad to see 2020 to end but sad. I feel like I can start with a clean slate but my daughter, her husband and my sweet granddaughter leave to go back to Scotland after a month holiday with us.
Goals
- 204 pounds I won’t make it
- Get 8500 steps Monday to Saturday on track to make it
- Do 2 workouts a week didn’t get them in again
- continue to go to bed before getting super drowsy (if I get to drowsy I tend to get the munchies) been staying up too late
I can’t wait to set some goals for January 😄

Hello and happy last day of 2019!
I'm here with my final weigh in post, it's pretty mediocre. I started out strong and thought I would surpass my goal for the month, but looking at the numbers it's a little sad. Clearly, either everything I've been doing has been mostly ineffective since I started this 6 weeks ago, or the holidays just totally tripped me up. Maybe both? One bright side, I'm certain if I hadn't focused on my health right before the holidays, I probably would have gained weight since I started. So there's that.
5'10"
SW: 210 (11.14.19)
12/1: 208.5
12/6: 206.1
12/13: 204.7
12/20: 205
12/27: 208.2
12/31: 207.6
December goal weight: 203 Um, clearly not happening. I did weigh in at 203.9 once mid-month, but yeah, then then the holidays happened
Other December goals:
-Continue to exercise 5 days a week, with at least 3 workouts strength training I easily achieved this goal. Exercise is not my weak link.
-Log my food daily (I've logged everyday the last week, since Christmas. And I logged the first half of the month.)
-Spend time outdoors whenever I can, despite the short days I will get outside in some capacity 5 days a week! (I did great at this. I have got some workouts in outside and also have been on plenty of hikes this months with my kids).
-Ride my horse 8 times (I rode my horse 3 times this month- fell majorly short of this. But with the short days and the terrible weather, it's not surprising).
I'm going to head on over to the 2020 post and think ahead, now that I've acknowledged what happened!3 -
Ok before I go over to the January 2020 post, I just have to give a shout out to @BrownSugar174 because you look amazing!!!!!! Thank you for sharing your inspiration!3
-
@BrownSugar174, you look AMAZING! Go you!!
I bought an outfit tonight for NYE that is out of my comfort zone, but I felt so...hot. Hahah for lack of a better word. It caught me off guard. Everyone I’ve showed it to so far keeps saying how much they love it, and it just made me feel so good.
See you all in the January thread!7 -
Closing out 2019 with a huge thank you to everyone. @orangequilt I am actually 5'10. I think my body is slowly going back to my athletic build. I was inducted into the Delaware State Track and Field Hall of Fame and the Delaware State African American Hall of Fame. I threw the shot-put and discus in high school and college. I remember back then I use to think I was fat at 180pounds not realizing it was my perfect size. I realize now that it had a lot to do with my self confidence. I'm working on believing that I deserve to be fit. It's a lifelong journey and I'm blessed to have this opportunity.9

@Candyn617 , @Aerohead21, and @CLAWSMITH - so proud of you all for your progress this month!! Congratulations on finishing 2019 with a bang!!! @Aerohead21 I think you said you were working with a doctor but I would consider increasing your lean protein so you aren't hungry and to help maintain your muscle tone as you continue to lose.
@BrownSugar174 you look amazing and I just love your photo. You look so strong and confident.
@torihudson6 I am so happy you bought a dress out of of your comfort zone. It takes a while to adjust mentally to your new body and such positive feedback from your friends and family with help your process! Please post a photo for all of us!!
Here is my final stats for 2019:
Height: 5'6"
SW: 236.4 (9/8)
11/27: 212.9
11/30: 213.3
12/4: 211.7
12/11: 209.8
12/18: 208.0
12/25: 206.0
12/31: 205.8
Dec Goal: 206
Thankful to have met my modest 6 lb goal for this month given all of the outings and treats in my life over the past few weeks! I did not perform well on most of my non-scale goals and give full credit for this month's progress to the weight loss gods. Next month I am going to shoot for an 8 lb loss.
I met my husband in December 2010 and was at 206. He has always had a preference for curvy ladies so never minded or commented on my ride up the scale. I know he supports my efforts to be healthy and appreciates my increasing confidence. But I am a little bit nervous because we are in a bit of uncharted territory and I plan to make big changes; I would like to lose another 50 lbs. I am posting this thought on this thread to "leave it in 2019," so to speak.
You all are amazing. Finding this thread was a highlight of my year and I look forward to continuing this journey in 2020.8 -
Alica, Onederland is yours for the taking! Congratulations on getting to where you were 9 years ago. I feel the same way about this thread. I've come to depend on it for inspiration and support.
Tori, I'm excited for you and your new dress! If you feel comfortable doing so, please post a pic of you in your new dress!
Aerohead - I'm so freaking proud of your weight loss!! I hope you didn't feel that I was being too hard on you about the negativity you were feeling when you started. I just knew from my own experience that I had to get over than to get to where I wanted to be. I'm so glad you stuck with it and look at how successful you have been!
Bluffgirl, thank you for always having something positive and supportive to say about everyone who posts. I want to nominate you our unofficial "den mother" for taking care of everyone!
I'll post my final update for the month later tonight after I complete my diary - and I'll see you all in our next thread.
Happy New Year everyone. Here's to a great 2020!! New decade, new you!3 -
Found this just now but I’m in4

Hi All!
Amazed by the end of the month/year successes! I ended with a small loss (back to November weight end weight) and I am happy with that! I! I will be posting in the new thread tomorrow with new goals...I am soooo looking forward to 2020 and getting back on routine! @RavenStCloud thank you for creating the new thread!
@aliciap0116 so happy for you! Thank you to the weight loss gods, but I know you worked hard!
@BrownSugar174 you look amazing!
@torihudson6 you go girl in your dress! Can't wait to fit in some of my "smaller" dresses!
@Candyn617 Great job! Gotta love getting new pants in a smaller size:)
@shorepine any loss during this time of year is an accomplishment...meeting that exercise goal will pay off, I know it!
@Terytha I hear ya...gotta be some really good pizza...definitely! Great job!
@lindamtuck2018 I know it has to be tough with your daughter, husband and granddaughter going back to Scotland, but I am glad they were able to come visit!
@speyerj I agree on @bluffgirl67 she does take care of everyone, thank you!
My goals for December were as follows:
SW: 276.6 - January 2019
December SW - 254.2
12/6 - 251.8
12/13 -251.0
12/20 -249.8
12/31 -251.4
December goal weight - 249.2
Total loss for month - 2.8 lbs
Happy New Year to everyone! I just know that 2020 will be our year!5 -
Final update for the year:
Well, I gained a few pounds as of yesterday's weigh-in, but that is likely due to water retention since I should be starting that time of the month any day now. I usually skip weigh-ins on those weeks, since it can be very discouraging and I already have the emotions that go along with pms to deal with. Lol.
Anyway, I will join the January thread tomorrow and post my goals for the month (and for 2020!) there.
Happy New Year, all!3 -
Month end result
Height: 5' 9''
SW: 286.5 (June 3, 2019)
11/30/19: 221.6 lbs
12/7/19: 220.5
12/14/19: 218.9
12/21/19: 219
12/28/19:216.4
12/31/19: 215.8
GW: 180
Goals for December:
Strength train 3 x week: 11/13 - 85%
5K training 3 x week: 14/14 - 100%
Get 10000 steps a day: 29/31 94%
Eat no more than 100 grams of net carbs (Carbs - fiber): 20/31 65%
Eat more than 100 grams of protein a day: 21/31 68%
Drink 150 oz of water a day: 23/31 74%
Log accurately every day: 29/31 94%
Lose 8 pounds: 5.8/8 73%
Overall score 82%
So, I know I can do better on the carbs and protein next month - Xmas is tough! But I'm killing it with the exercise.
Other NSVs this month: I squeezed my butt into size 14 jeans! I'm not a true size 14, but I pulled it off. My collar bone came out of hiding. This sounds so vain, but I can't stop looking at it!! I passed 200 days of consecutive logging and have been sticking with it for 7 whole months!

Congratulations to everyone for making it through 2019!
2019 is a year I’m happy to leave behind and not look back, truth be told. I went through a lot emotionally this year, and I’m ready for smooth sailing for a change!
Here’s the final check-in:
Height: 5'6"
SW (09/08/2019): 239.2 lbs
December SW (12/1): 210.0 lbs
12/8/19: 206.8
12/15/19: 205.2
12/22/19: 202.2
12/29/19: 200.6
12/31/19: 199.8
December GW: 202.0 lbs
GW: 150 lbs (then reconsider)
My goals for December were:
- Cardio for 45-60 min, 5-6 times a week, 3 of the sessions Couch-to-5K workouts – Done!
- Core exercises at least 3 times a week – Done!
- Lose 3 inches in my measurements – 3.25”
- Lose 8 pounds – Done! I ate all kinds of goodies at my nephew’s birthday party today, so we’ll see if my loss holds up!
- Take better care of my skin in hopes it will start to regain its shape – Better than last month, and better than the rest of the year.
A couple of things have been on my mind as the end of the year approaches. Among them is how far I’ve come, this year and in the past decade.
In the picture below on the left, I am at my graduation from nursing school in March 2012. I went to a second degree BSN program, and spent a year earning my nursing degree. I barely had time to breathe that year. The lady in that picture is happy to have accomplished such a huge goal. And is happy to fit in a dress bought that day in a store – size 24W. I think I know now she truly was not happy about much else. Also, if I was not at my highest weight, I was close: 301.2 pounds.
On the right is a picture of me on Mother’s Day 2019. I cannot believe I let myself get that big again. As I’ve said, I am certain I was not as large as I was in the other photo but I knew where my mental state was and I would not have been able to handle knowing what that number was at the time. I have my guesses as to what that weight was, but have absolutely zero regrets about not stepping on the scale at that time. Among other things that had happened to me, I had recently weathered a particularly hurtful end to a relationship, a high-pressure EMR software implementation at work, and nearly two months of helping to pull my father through a catastrophic, near-fatal illness. Unlike the lady in the picture on the left, May 2019 me was not happy, and I knew it.
Here I am today, after my walk on the boardwalk:
Definite progress…still have some work to do! See you over on the January 2020 thread.

wow @mmdeveau what a difference, and sounds like you have a handle on what happened and what you are doing differently now, good on you!2

Not my goal but I was at 202 yesterday morning so I blame the gain on the yummy cheesy pizza yesterday. I'm still very happy with the month overall. I lost which is the true goal and kept up cardio for my health. My eating is much healthier than when I started in October. I tried on one of my sz16 jeans this week and they did zip but I wouldn't want to wear for them very long.
I want to thank all of you for the motivation, support, and friendship. I'm not sure I could have stuck it out without this wonderful group. @speyerj and @mmccloy12 Thank you for those kind words. My posts can get long but I know many times in life that hearing just a few encouraging words and being acknowledge for whatever I was going through helped me so much. I try to remember how much I needed it at those times even though nobody else knew. I learned early in life masking was the way to go. At 52 still working on changing that but getting much better. So long posts it is because I never know who may need that extra boost.
@mmdevaux First of all you look amazing and shout out for hitting Onederland! I'm sorry you've had so many struggles going on lately. I hope your dad is doing much better now. It is inspiring to see how well you've stuck to your goals instead of giving in to it all. That is no easy feat and I'm proud of you for keeping with your plans.
@speyerj Admire those bones and slipping into 14's. You worked hard for it.
So happy for those who have met goals and for those who didn't but are still here giving it their best. Nothing better than to keep trying and not giving up. In the words of 90's Shania Twain...
LET'S GO GIRLS 2020 here we come!

Here was my outfit from last night! Haha and yes, I cropped my friend out...she’s a pretty private person.
I’m excited for the New Year and to continue meeting my goals. December was surprisingly successful for me and the last few months of this journey have really showed me that it is possible to have a healthy relationship with food, even if I slip up a few times.
I lost the 5lbs I wanted and slowly started to become more committed to the gym which I hope to continue this month. I’ll post all my goals in the January thread. See you ladies there!11 -
@mmdeveau Congratulations on getting to Onederland! And you lost 40 pounds in less than 4 months.
I used to work for a company that implemented EMR software, so I know you aren't kidding about the stress that causes. Change management and grief counseling aren't really that far apart.
Tori you look amazing. I hope you had a great time.
@bluffgirl67 , I bet you get below 200 by next week. Those little gains don't last.
So excited for everyone. 2020 will be a great year!6 -
@mmdevaux congrats on getting to Onederland!! And thank you, as always, for sharing your journey. You look amazing and I can tell 2020 is going to be a great year for you.
@torihudson6 you look downright hot in your NYE outfit! Thanks for sharing and inspiring us all. Hope you had a wonderful night to close out 2019.
To all those new on this thread, please be sure to come over to the new January thread! We switch over each month.5 -
Finished my 52 hikes! 2019 did not end well for me as far as healthy eating and I did gain some weight but thats behind me now and I am excited to kickstart again. See you all in the new thread!11

End of year review - Spent most of 2019 at around 310 pounds. Found this thread, joined a gym, began logging, and started my weight loss journey Nov. 1st. Ringing in 2020 20 pounds lighter and looking forward to continuing down this road. It holds promise and I feel so much better already - lighter, freer moving, my sore ankle, sore knee, sore back all are so much improved it's unreal.
See you all in the January thread.
Oh, and @BrownSugar? You look AWESOME!7
