01/02 - 187.5 Having been out of country for almost a month and totally off plan, I came back and wasd actually down to 181. This last two holiday weeks I've been eating with abandon so I'm not surprised at what is likely this water retention hike (plus a few lbs?) I'm hoping/ expecting this to fall quickly. Good to be back!!
01/03 185.6. Ok starting to fall. Didn't eat great, but at least I didn't snack endlessly. Hit 20000 steps by walking to and from work in the cold. Only because i lost my bus pass but still - silver lining.

12/29: 173.9 lbs, highest weight ever today. I've gained 30+ pounds in a little over 3 months. I've not been able to work out due to a running injury, which has sent me spirally out of control weigh wise. Time to be accountable again and log and weigh daily to get this under control. I know what to do and how to be successful in losing weight, just have to start. I don't expect a loss for tomorrow but commit to achieving a loss going forward in the days to come. Starting over is hard, but I have done this before, so I know I can do it again. Looking forward to the next 10 days.
12/30: 173.3 Goals for this round are...pre-log daily meals/calories, IF 16/8, little to no alcohol consumption, and get my exercise back on track with yoga and tentatively see if my foot is ready to ease back into running.
12/31: 172.6 Yesterday was partially successfully with logging and eating IF 16/8 but not the best choices with food and went over on calories by having a couple of glasses of wine. Hoping today to get on my treadmill (hate running indoors but it is a snowy icy mess outside) and see how my foot feels. I have a NYE get-together to go to tonight but am thinking I will skip it, as I don't need the temptations of party food/drinks derailing the little progress I have made this week.
01/01: 171.3 Had a very nice NYE, low key with my family and even enjoyed a little cheese & crackers+ Champagne and still had a loss on the scale this morning. Just sticking to 1 meal today as we went out for brunch and I feel so full even though I made smart choices. I've decided to wait 2 more weeks to see how returning to running feels and I got in a good body strength workout instead.
01/02: 172 Slight blip up from yesterday, no real reason for it...could be because yesterday I slept in and weighed later than normal. I'm doing well with IF 16/8, drinking water, limiting alcohol, not eating outside of meals or overeating, & logging but need to be better with my food choices and staying within my allotted calories. Today I have a double workout planned with a total body barre video + the 1st day of the 30 day YWA, HOME practice, looking forward to getting back into daily yoga.
01/03: 170.4 Happy to see this loss on the scale today! Yesterday was all around good, meeting all my daily goals + I meal planned for the next week and shopped for everything. I think an important thing for me, is to be excited for the dinners I am making and not feeling "deprived" there. I have found I am much more in control of the choices I make during the day (when I tend to go off the rails), when I know that I have a great dinner to look forward to. I got in another good workout yesterday too but feeling super sore and then didn't sleep well last night and woke up with a major crick in my neck, hopping today's yoga helps sort these aches out.

12/30 – 270.6 The first of many drops, I hope. I do know I’ll have a bounce on the first because of New Years Eve plans. Once that’s done though I have nothing going on until my husband’s birthday in February.
12/31 – 270.0 I went out for dinner and was okay until we decided to get desert. It’s okay though I didn’t plan to be back fully on track until tomorrow anyway. I hope everyone has a safe and happy New Years!
01/01 – 269.4 I didn’t end up as far off track yesterday as I feared I would end up. I’m hopeful of staying on track now that all the holiday activities are over.
01/02 – 268.6 If the drops continue I should be close to my previous low soon. I was on track yesterday and I’ve been getting out and enjoying the nice weather we’re having. Nothing like hitting 12k steps on the first of the year. My goal for this year is to lose 50 pounds and if I hit that early I’ll set a new realistic goal for however long is left. I happily ended last year still under the halfway point to my ultimate goal weight.
01/03 – 266.8 While it’s not all the way back to my lowest weight I’m really happy to see this number. It’s about where I was bouncing around during the early part of my break. I know that even if I don’t drop quickly from here due to water loss it won’t be long before I’m hitting new lows.

01/02 (T) 144.6 (Trend Weight 144.7) Steady. Better than a gain. Grandkids went home last night. We're still off schedule, and I'm still off routine but staying mindful of what I'm eating. I imagine this is going to be the norm until after the funerals. Mother in-law's is Monday. They haven't scheduled the one for my daughter in-law's mother yet (still waiting for autopsy). I've started cleaning and getting ready for influx of family. I have until midnight to decide whether to invest in treadmill (then the coupon expires).

▪1/01 - 191 - Full of TOO MUCH!
IF/16hrs. 87g carbs. Too many days of high calories, high carbs, high sodium the last 2 weeks. I feel hungover and I don't even drink alcohol! Purging until Sunday.
▪1/02 - 187 - 72g carbs. IF/19hrs. Gradually stepping down the carbs this month, then back to 18/6 IF (or 19 or 20😐) and basic keto, 20g total carbs. Considering one weekly 24hr fast. I always have one day during the week that I am just not hungry, so I'll take advantage of it.

Glad to be back after a couple of weeks of shingles – so thankful that it has been a very mild case. Round 100 … 1,000 days for some people … plus a new year … a new decade and to top it all off – I finally have my computer cleaned and set up in my new home office!
Female, 5’, 66 years. SW – 165, GW – 164 something, UGW – 140. (This really should be 125 or 130 but that seems like such a long ways to go and 140 would be a huge improvement.)
Goals – finish calorie log each day, 30 min. of movement every day, only yogurt or fruit in the evening and nothing after 9 p.m. I may go to the gym (or not) depending how I feel toward the end.

01/03 – 166 – After yesterday’s scary number – ham soup was great but too much salt I’m guessing – it’s good to be down a bit. This is shaping up to be quite the year. Oldest grandson gets married in April, babysitting 6 grandkids (one of whom is special needs) for a weekend in May, and hoping to have our house on the market beginning of June. I think it was the prospect of the last that brought on the shingles. So I’m taking it slow but steady. January I’m painting doors (15) and going through papers & books. Some people love being busy but I tend to panic and eat. So now I’ve mapped out a plan, I’m just focusing doing that, and eating right of course.

12/29 122.5 No explanation for this bump unless it was the small bit of baked white potato at lunch yesterday or the little bit of dark chocolate (no sugar) from the night before. May not have had enough water. Low calorie, great macro day so not worried. Woke up at 3:30-the cat was crowding me off the bed.
12/30 122.5 Car woke me at 5, I was super tired so put him in his crate and went back to sleep. (He loves his crate and frequently goes in there to nap) Woke when the alarm went off at 7, got dressed and went to have labs drawn. You all know I’m really NOT a morning person. Going to a friend’s house to sew today so haven’t read all posts but I’m at the top of page 4.
12/31 122.0 I just ate a hearty breakfast - mostly. I’m not a breakfast person but hadn’t eaten since lunch yesterday and was getting the shakes. I had a fried egg with 2 extra yolks and a piece of leftover steak AND a Thomas’ English muffin. DH bought those to have the 2 days we were on the pre-cruise stay-cation. There was one left so I threw it in my bag and kept it refrigerated on the cruise and brought it back home. I grew up eating those and it had been calling to me since we got home 9 days ago. Now it’s gone. My carbs are going to be through the roof but it’s okay. This too shall pass. Looking forward to thee beginning of the new decade A YEAR FROM NOW.

01/03- 210.6: I fell off the wagon HARD!! Gained 5lbs in the past few weeks. It's been such a rollercoaster of events this past month, so I stopped posting on the group.
Life Updates: I went on my vacation to Hawaii on 12/14 and got ENGAGED!! (motivation enough right there to lose weight) and right after I got back from my trip my dad had open heart surgery. This hit me so hard and you would think I'd be more cautious about my health, but nope. Something hit me hard and I started emotional eating instead. Stopped caring about counting calories and taking care of myself. I don't even recognize myself anymore. I don't even feel well lately. Not sure if it's family stress, the crap I'm eating, or the rush of trying to plan a wedding in less than a year, I'm just TIRED. Seeing my weight this morning is my wake-up call and I want to really try my best to at least TRY this time. Hoping for the best

I'm back! Lost my focus the last couple of rounds and just could not get it together. I fell off the wagon and have gained about 6 pounds since Thanksgiving. I am sure some of it is water weight, but I probably did gain a couple of real pounds to. My 2nd oldest flunked his first semester of college, my daughter and oldest son both had car accidents within the last 4 weeks (both ok and no permanent damage), I have had some health issues to deal with, and on top of all of that Christmas. So I turned to alcohol and eating fast food instead of meal planning. So my goal this round is just to figure out where I really am weight wise and start working to get back to my maintenance weight of 135-139. I am also going to get back to meal planning and learning of other ways of dealing with stress rather than drinking beer. Who said adult children are less than work than little kids, lol! My husband and I may end up in the crazy house dealing with them.
12/29 - 143.1(up 5.4 pounds) Ouch! The last month has been filled with a ton of stress and lack of sleep. Today is my first day back of logging in and trying to track. I have been horrible with my food choices and my alcohol intake the last 3 rounds. I will do better this round.

12/29: 217.2 (+0.4)/18.2 (+0.1). I had my first real meal in days last night, so this is not unexpected. That being said, my sickness feels like a bit of a reset, one that got me back into some good habits. I'm going to try to take advantage of the "opportunity" I've been "given" (nice way to phrase my horrible illness).
12/30: 218.8 (+1.6)/18.4 (+0.2). As always, I spoke too soon. I need to remember that the moment I'm feeling too good about my progress/work habits is the moment that I let myself slide a little. I could have said no last night, but after my reasonable dinner I had some leftover Caesar salad (wife went out to dinner) and a Cinnabon. There's plenty of blame to go around, but I am the only person that is responsible for me. I regretted both choices as they were happening, but not enough to make me stop/slow down. I'm going to think of this as a "blip," and I'm going to try to move on from it.

I had my wife's leftovers for dinner, but for some reason she felt it necessary to make a WHOLE OTHER MEAL that she expected me to partake in (she asked me to eat her leftovers). It was relatively healthy, at least, but I'm going to have to have a little talk with her about MY body and MY right to put (or not put) whatever I want into it... no matter what the circumstances are. I still have not been to the gym since I got really sick, and I probably won't get there until Friday.

1/2: 216.6 (-0.8)/18.1 (-0.1). For those of you who don't know, I'm a psychologist, which doesn't make me any better at any of this than any of you! One thing that's important for me, especially when it comes to health/weight loss, is the idea of "setting my intention(s)." It's a bit like doing the whole New Year's resolution thing, but I like to try to carefully think through the things I need to do in order to reach my goal(s). This includes thinking about what's worked for me in the past (like coming to MFP and JGMTD), but it also includes really thinking about the different things that can potentially derail me. I'm not going to bore you with details, but I know that I have a tendency to relax a bit too much when I start to feel successful here; the minute I talk about how well things are going or how "easy" this is, chances are high that I'm going to slip up a bit. I try to remember to temper the extreme feelings I have (good and bad) because that works for me, and it can be a disaster when I don't do it. I'm going to recommit to the gym 3x/wk (starting tomorrow), knowing that it may take some time to get back where I was a month ago. I'm also going to work on communicating more effectively with my wife; I love her very much, but sometimes that message seems to get lost when we have discussions/arguments. @tinabambina29 - 1st Congratulations on engagement! Secondly, I hope all is well with your Dad. And lastly, life happens. This journey is not a straight line. Put it behind you and get back on track asap whenever that is for you. Just don't let it drag on. Sooner is better than later. That is why I weigh daily because doing so helps me from getting tired or giving up. So, whatever you do the scale is your friend. My 2020 goal is to continue to learn how to eat and lose wieght. My top weight was 203 pounds and I am now at 183. It has been a challenge and I don't feel I have a handle on the losing weight process.
I am committed to tracking as honestly as I can on MFP. I follow a way of eating (WOE) promoted by Dr. Ludwig. His method involves low/no sugar or other "white" foods. This WOE encouraged me to add more protein and fat to my diet. I eat either fruit or beans at each meal as a carbohydrate balance. Of course, all natural foods, no processed. I am only 5'2" ft tall and am 63 years old gives me a challenge.
I have a gym membership and I am working on a fitness program that includes cardio, weights, and swimming. I also walk three miles a day. I am retired so this is not a problem.

01/02 – 174.0 – Back from a lovely few days with my kids and grandkids. I didn’t expect a drop over the holidays, but I’ve been fighting a nasty cold that’s suppressed my appetite, so I guess I shouldn’t really be surprised. Took a rest day and worked on staying hydrated.
01/03 – 172.0 – Slept in and woke up feeling a little dehydrated, so I’m sure this is a false low. Still congested, but otherwise feeling much better, so I got some chores done. Ate most of my calories today, but had too much salt. I’m sure it will take a few days of normal health and good habits to get my electrolytes back in balance.

Also, I am from Chicago and live in Forest Park, IL. I grew up on the west side of Chicago. My sister still lives on the west side. I am 54 years old and still working unfortunately. lol I guess it is a blessing also. I will be 55 in a few months.

01/01 398.8 – Fresh start and never giving up! I am thinking about starting WW again. I just don’t think so. I just think I am going to stick with MFP and my therapist every 2 weeks for now. And really make my health a priority now. Why is this so hard? Why?! Just venting. If any of you have any thoughts on WW positive or negative, please share privately or here. I am a realist, so I do not take any offense just looking for honest feedback and personal experiences whether yours or family and friends. Thanks.
01/02 396.8 (-2.0) – Yesterday was a lazy day. I only ate 2 meals, and both were light and good. No walking. I did some chores around the house. Reflected on my spiritual, health, and financial goals – in that order. Now to put something in writing for spiritual and health goals. Have a great day!
01/03 396.2 (-0.6) – I got in my 6500 step goal and was under calories yesterday. I am not getting the 11:30 bedtime goal so far.

My journey … "I May Not Be Where I Want To Be, but I’m Not Where I Use To Be!"In 2003 Weighed over 600 lbs.My highest weight was 611 in 2003. Weight in 2004 before weight loss surgery was 580. Lowest weight after surgery was 302 in 2007. "I May Not Be Where I Want To Be, but I’m Not Where I Use To Be!"
In 2005 Weighed under 400 lbs.
In 2007 lowest weight after surgery 302lbs
I joined MFP on March 27, 2010 weighing in at 388 pounds. I was re-gaining weight and stumbled up on it while trying to get back on track. I was determined never to see 400+ on that scale again for me.
I have been morbidly obese all my life. I have a lifetime of mental and physical scars from obesity. In October 2004 I had Gastric Bypass surgery. WLS (Weight Loss Surgery) was the best gift that I could and did give to myself.
Between 2008 and 2010 I gradually gained back 80 of almost 300 pounds lost initially after weight loss surgery. I never reached my goal weight of 200 pounds. I still managed to keep off over 65 percent of the weight I lost which is very good and I am very proud of my accomplishments since 2004. It has literally changed my life for the better on all levels. I am here to lose re-gained weight and to reach my initial goal weight. I am in no hurry. I am taking this one day at a time and I am in it for the long haul.
Surgery did not fix the head. It is a good tool and the best gift I have given to myself, but it was not the easy way out as many people think. Once the honeymoon period is over after the WLS it is up to the patient to keep the weight off.
On August 29, 2011-- I was admitted to Intensive Out Patient Eating Disorder Program to learn how to manage my binge eating disorder effectively. The program is wonderful indeed and will be instrumental in me reaching all of my goals. The focus of this program was how to eat and not diet. Weight loss was not a goal of the program. I actually gained 20 pounds in program. But I had to get thru a lot of stuff and my the time I was released I had stopped gaining. I was discharged from program on December 3, 2011.
My tool is still working for me today. My head is still the issue. SO the struggle continues. I will never beat myself up again. I fight the fine fight faithfully and positively everyday. Because that is what will get me to my goals one day. Even though it may not show up on the scale every day -- Everyday I make progress one way or another just by showing up, waking up and trying.
Giving up is not an option for me. Perseverance, Patience, & Positive thinking will help me reach my goals…… and the same is true for you too!! We have the power within us.
