A pound a week seemed reasonable in January until I checked out back in the spring and then gained even more. 15 lb loss in 2019; gained back 5 before 2020; gained back 6 more during pandemic spring 2020. I need to quit losing the same pounds over and over. Starting again in August to continue my journey! If you are tired of starting over, STOP giving up.

I'll turn 60 this year and really want to get into Onederland and make it stick this decade!
    2019 Starting Weight: 245 (1/2/2019) BMI 43.4

    Goal weight: <200 in 2020
    Current weight: 229.3
    Total weight lost: 16

This week's successes: Achieved my goal of walking 100 miles in August. Challenged myself to repeat that stretch goal for September.
This week's challenges: At our fishing camp 🎣 for 10 days with no scale. Every small habit still counts scale or no scale. This is NOT A DIET. It’s a LIFESTYLE.

Bye bye 36 weeks. 16 weeks remaining in 2020! There is still time to make a dent in the number on the scale before kicking off 2021 new resolutions. Losing weight may be a slow, frustrating process, but quitting won’t speed it up.

We got this! Good luck everyone as we move through Sept-Dec!

    This week's successes:
    • Accurate logging.
    • Maintaining meeting my step goal.
    • Getting back into deficit.

    This week's challenges:
    • Fighting both hunger and appetite constantly.
    • Fighting to move.

I think a combination of meal timing and the lower net carb WOE I've been trying to get back to are the keys to consistency this time, at least until I've gotten back in the habit for 3-4 weeks. One week is in the books. A bunch of water weight was lost last week, which was nice to see. Looking forward to getting some fat torched again.

    Original post:
I'm not sure I have 52 pounds of fat that I want/need to lose at this point, but I'm close enough that I'm going to call myself "in."

    Starting weight: 197.1 pounds
    (HSW: 252, MFP restart: 242.7)
    5'1" F

    Goal: 21.5% body fat
    (currently estimated at 140-145)

    Current weight: 197.1
    Total challenge weight lost: 0.0

This week's successes: Getting back into deficit after a maintenance break.
This week's challenges: Extremely low motivation (for life-ing in general -- not out of the norm, as I battle physical and mental health issues on an ongoing basis).

A heads up: I will likely go faster than 1 pound/week for the first 4-ish months, then looking to tighten up and go into a slow loss followed by a recomp phase. I'll likely make 52 pounds of weight loss on the scale with some skin loss (hopefully), along with lean mass having to do with the support of the fat stores I have. I am aiming to maintain/increase muscle mass and bone density, so that may throw off the scale results. I do hope to reach my goal body fat percentage by the year's end, whatever scale weight that puts me at.

Week 36. Ups and downs. A disappointing amount of loss given the level of exercise and dietary diligence, but progress nonetheless. August rains stymied my goal to ride five days a week and a rousing bout with a stomach bug didn’t help. Still ahead of the challenge, but my lead has been eroding. Made some progress in August, but I need to put my head down, and that bag of mini Oreos, and keep it going in September.

    Starting weight: 233 lbs
    Goal weight: 165 lbs
    Current weight: 194 lbs
Total weight lost: 39 lbs, -3 pounds since last month

This month's successes: Stayed active for most days and rode over 360 miles on the bike. Kept within targeted calories for each week and limited unhealthy snacks and meals. Measurements revealed a loss of about 5-inches, so half of my clothes are too loose to wear and the other half (the 'thin' wardrobe) is now roomy.
This month's challenges: Aforementioned August rains and a lost a week of activity due to a stomach bug which sidelined me. Strength training has been spotty.

09-13-2020-228 :s - I've actually gained the Covid 19 literally lol but I lost 3 pounds this week and decided to get back on my grind to get below 200 lbs. This has been a very tough year for me, my Mother passed on 04-02-2020 and I haven't been paying close attention to my weight and being home most of the time made for more eating. So even though I'm only working 3 days a week at the office due to Corona Virus I've got to be about losing my weight and not let being at home 4 days make me eat more.

Im joining really late in the game but there’s no time like the present right? I really could use the extra motivation and accountability and I don’t want to wait for a new year to start working on my health.
    Starting weight: 230
    Current weight: 191.3
Goal weight: 129- not by the end of this year but my eventual overall goal.
I’d like to lose around two pounds a week, not have any cheat days and exercise consistently.

    This week's successes:
    • Accurate logging.
    • Step goal met (over 250 days now).
    • Followed the program 6/7 days.

    This week's challenges:
    • Fighting both hunger and appetite constantly.
    • Fighting to move.

I am now about 2.5 weeks into this WOE, and I think I can keep it going until I've reached 3-4 weeks before any breaks. The one day I was outside of "the program", it was for a funeral in the family, and I managed to stick to the WOE, but calories were higher than maintenance by about 600. The other days are going well enough that it was just a blip on the radar, though it was hard to return to eating less the next couple of days. I did, though, and that's what I've gotta focus on.

The coming week will present a new challenge in that I will be having corrective foot surgery on my left foot. I am not particularly looking forward to it, but the reduction of pain should make it worth it in the end. I plan to still try to get my steps while using a knee scooter or crutches, so there should still be some burn to hopefully keep my TDEE reasonably raised. I'm really hoping I can continue to lose 1.5-2.0 pounds in an average week while I'm recovering, with careful management of macros and micronutrients. We'll see how it goes. I realize I might need to take a week or two at maintenance calories here or there as it goes so that I can heal a bit better too, but based on my experience with my hands healing from carpal tunnel surgery, I think I'll be OK.

Gotta keep chipping away. "Vanilla obesity" (the lowest class of obesity before overweight BMI) is just around the corner.

    14 weeks till 2021 🎉

A pound a week seemed reasonable in January until I checked out back in the spring and then gained even more. 15 lb loss in 2019; gained back 5 before 2020; gained back 6 more during pandemic spring 2020. Starting again in August to continue my journey! I need to quit losing the same pounds over and over. If you are tired of starting over, STOP giving up.

I'll turn 60 this year and really want to get into Onederland and make it stick this decade!
    2019 Starting Weight: 245 (1/2/2019) BMI 43.4

Past week's successes: BMI <40! No longer morbidly obese. Walking 3+ miles per day, tracking everything, 4 AF days.
This week's challenges: Not drinking alcohol when DH pours one for himself. Getting out to walk with all the expected rain.

    • Fighting luteal stuff

I have to admit that if I could hit rewind, I'd opt not to do the corrective surgery on my left foot. I sure hope that the worst of the recovery process is this first week or two, because I've never had such a profound need to constantly medicate for pain (right up there with gall stones, kidney stones, and childbirth). I sure hope for a full recovery, in any case.

The last two days I just copied the last weigh-in, as I have no way to get an accurate weight right now. I have been tracking intake still and have been within maintenance, so I figure that's fair enough. Hopefully I'll be able to get back to weighing in soon (probably after 1-2 weeks). A shame that the 28-day average will lag for this time window, but it is what it is.

I wish you a full recovery with zero pain. 3 weeks ago I had my appendix taken out. I’m over this whole 2020 thing.

I wish you positivity and good health.❤️

    13 weeks till 2021 🎉

A pound a week seemed reasonable in January until I checked out back in the spring and then gained even more. 15 lb loss in 2019; gained back 5 before 2020; gained back 6 more during pandemic spring 2020. Starting again in August to continue my journey! I need to quit losing the same pounds over and over. If you are tired of starting over, STOP giving up.

I'll turn 60 this year and really want to get into Onederland and make it stick this decade!
    2019 Starting Weight: 245 (1/2/2019) BMI 43.4
    2020 Starting Weight: 235 (1/1/2020) BMI 41.6
    Goal weight: <200 in 2020
    Current weight: 223.2 BMI 39.5
    Total weight lost: 21.8

Past week's successes: Walking 3miles per day rain or no rain, tracking everything, 5 AF days. Clothes NSV … dresses are longer and looser!
This week's challenges: Not drinking alcohol when DH pours one for himself. Keeping a healthy mental focus on weight loss when my #s go up & down on the scale (big daily swings) but remembering overall the trend is downward.

@MelodiousMermaid - Thinking about you over the weekend. I hope that your recovery is quick and that you find positive ways to influence your weight loss during this time scale or no scale !

    Current weight (28-day average):
    187.3?
(I have been recording the same weight each day, as I cannot reliably weigh yet, but have been eating at or slightly under maintenance since the last weigh-in, so figure it's a conservative estimate.)

    Weekly change (28-day average):
    -1.4

    Cumulative change (Month/Quarter/Year):
    -6.3/-2.3/-9.8

    This week's successes:
    • All intake logged.
    • Step goal met (reduced to be realistic post-operation).
    • Maintaining intake around maintenance, calculating below most days.

    This week's challenges:
    • Foot surgery recovery not going well at all.

So I'm still drugged up for pain (actually had to change to a stronger medication for pain)... And now I'm also on an antibiotic, as it appears I may have a mild infection when I went in for my first post-op appointment yesterday. Ugh. A huge blister also added into the whole deal, so I guess its no wonder that I am in extra pain, all things considered. I will be following instructions for care to the "T" this week, as I really don't want to stay on the meds and would like to get back to life-ing a bit more, as things are so limited right now.

@jm216 and @Lilylady3k , Thank you for your thoughts/wishes for me. While things have not gone as well as I might have hoped, it will hopefully be just a week's setback and then onward toward something regular-ish again. Upside is definitely the success of not going into a gain trend for intake.
