@Leezy55 I dropped most of my weight 4 years ago with simple CICO. I actually maintained between 129 - 134 until last October when I broke my arm. That accident was followed by a lot of instability in my daily life, including the death of my Mom. I'm having trouble getting back into a calorie deficit mind set. Each day starts a new beginning.

I will never ever weigh 270 again. Soon I will say the same about 260.

    Starting weight: 272 (1-1-20)

    Goal WT 225:

    7/8: 269.9
7/16: 267.8 I keep gaining and losing the same 2 or 3 pounds its nuts I tell ya.
8/10: 267.5 Its a work in progress, still waiting for that big drop but so far it has been slow coming.
8/17: 268.0 Am I disappointed in losing only 4 lbs this year? Yep. Am I still determined to have a great year of losing wt and getting healthier? Yep.
    8/24

    Weight lost YTD: -4.0

This week's successes: Adding more core work, planks, etc, averaging about 8500 steps per day.
This week's challenges : Log my food and keep it together while traveling.

I can relate I have had a really hard time wrapping my mind around this weight loss thing lately. Back in the day it was focus, mind is made up, no problem lets get after it. Anymore it is a real struggle mentally.

    Weekly change in 28-day average:
    +0.4

    Cumulative change (Month/Quarter/Year):

    This week's successes:
    • Accurate logging.
    • Maintaining meeting my step goal.
    • Keeping up with physical therapy homework.
    • Back. Sort of, but back.

    This week's challenges:
    • Getting to a maintenance level of intake.
    • Trying to look past the fact that I've erased most of my progress this year ...again...

Gone for a while because I just couldn't muster the push to overcome, and the prior overeating/binge eating challenge has turned into a backpedal and I'm trying to find solid ground right now. If I can just maintain for a week, I will call it a win at this point. Yesterday was the first success day for this.

    Original post:
I'm not sure I have 52 pounds of fat that I want/need to lose at this point, but I'm close enough that I'm going to call myself "in."

    Starting weight: 197.1 pounds
    (HSW: 252, MFP restart: 242.7)
    5'1" F

    Goal: 21.5% body fat
    (currently estimated at 140-145)

    Current weight: 197.1
    Total challenge weight lost: 0.0

This week's successes: Getting back into deficit after a maintenance break.
This week's challenges: Extremely low motivation (for life-ing in general -- not out of the norm, as I battle physical and mental health issues on an ongoing basis).

A heads up: I will likely go faster than 1 pound/week for the first 4-ish months, then looking to tighten up and go into a slow loss followed by a recomp phase. I'll likely make 52 pounds of weight loss on the scale with some skin loss (hopefully), along with lean mass having to do with the support of the fat stores I have. I am aiming to maintain/increase muscle mass and bone density, so that may throw off the scale results. I do hope to reach my goal body fat percentage by the year's end, whatever scale weight that puts me at.

A pound a week seemed reasonable in January until I checked out back in the spring and then gained even more. 15 lb loss in 2019; gained back 5 before 2020; gained back 6 more during pandemic spring 2020. I need to quit losing the same pounds over and over. Starting again in August to continue my journey! If you are tired of starting over, STOP giving up.

I'll turn 60 this year and really want to get into Onederland and make it stick this decade!
    2019 Starting Weight: 245 (1/2/2019) BMI 43.4
    2020 Starting Weight: 235 (1/1/2020) BMI 41.6
    Goal weight: <200 in 2020
    Current weight: 231.1
    Total weight lost: 14

This week's successes: Walking 3-4 miles per day.
This week's challenges: My mental roadblocks because the scale is not moving.

This week's challenges: I am still eating cookies. The cookies should be done today though so there is a plus side to it. I need to eat healthy snacks. I seem to run out of time during the day to do things.

    This week's successes:
    • Accurate logging.
    • Maintaining meeting my step goal.
    • Keeping up with physical therapy homework.
    • Finally starting to settle in the right direction again.

    This week's challenges:
    • Fighting both hunger and appetite constantly.
    • Fighting to move.

Last week was over maintenance, but a lot more in the direction I'm trying to get into. Hoping for maintenance or below this week, and have a good start for it. I decided to try to get back into low net carb (aiming for about 30-50g net/day), since that was very successful for me last year until I hit the "training wall." I shouldn't hit that wall too quickly because of the hand surgeries and upcoming foot surgery causing me to scale back training. It's probably a good thing to take a break on that front anyway, though, as I feel really sluggish and stuck physically lately with the depression anyway. But I am fighting it and moving within my ability to do so, so it's not a lost cause, and I do look forward to getting back to powerlifting late this year when recovery has gotten far enough.
