My last weigh-in of the month is supposed to be tomorrow morning, but I'm still dealing with that time of the month and am super bloated still. I'm thinking I might skip it. Took a personal day to make it another three day weekend and I don't really want to start the weekend off on that foot. We shall see how I feel in the morning!
Planning to get some more meals plans together this weekend and also do some yard work. Despite the snow that is falling right now, we're supposed to be in the high 60's on Saturday and Sunday before the next round of snow hits on Monday. Life in Colorado!6 -

Had to do a sneaky early weigh in for the last day of the month. I've lost exactly 14lb since starting my diet.
47lb to go to target, but that's a big chunk gone for starters. Loving reading everyone elses progress, big well done @aliciap0116 for your progress, amazing results. I hope I can be half as successful.
Here's to more positive changes in February.10 -
Great job this month ladies!
I am looking forward to February and maybe *crosses fingers* finally hitting that one-derland!!9 -
Today I’m going to get my balloon decor prep out the way for tomorrow’s parties, walk my hound and then mess about learning to shuffle dance with YouTube videos just because I can7

Right now my goal weight is to just be under 200. If done it many times but then always gain it back. I started working out again last week and I’m ready to get this journey started.10 -
My coworker brought me some homemade pickled turnips! OMNOMNOM. Time to go database diving...
Happy Friday and last day of the month, everyone! I've got a run scheduled, and I'm excited to kick today in the tush.7 -
Went back to the gym after two days away. I am going to have to make sure that in the future I take one day off at most, because I had noticeably backslid. Can't be having that. It does feel SO good to push weights around, though.7

Still feeling bloated here but decided that it was important to log my weight anyway, good or bad. I was pleasantly surprised to find that I've dropped over a pound. I should drop more this coming week as the water retention goes away from that time of the month. Even though I'm only down 2 pounds total for the month, it's still an accomplishment and kind of unheard of for me since I tend to put on weight during the winter months. So, I'm happy about it and looking forward to losing more!
See everyone over on the February thread!6 -
Good morning all!
Well, I didn’t exactly get to my goal but I am happy with the results. I worked hard this week to stay within calories and get my water in. It’s difficult when you are working on getting off pounds that were gained from falling slightly off plan, but when you are my age it gains fast and loses slowly. My trip last weekend was fun but even with trying to stick to my plan, I drank too much and ate too much. But I did do better than I normally would have and that’s a step in the right direction to learn how to maintain my weight when I reach my goal.
I have a 12 year old son who is acting like a teenager right now and we have had some struggles the last couple weeks. We both have tempers and we are like water and oil in the mornings. I have had to have several self-talks with myself not to eat my emotions There were times when I just wanted to comfort my sadness/frustration with either a drink or “good/bad” food if you know what I mean. I didn’t want to eat the same ole same ole food prepped meals and snacks…just wanted to go get a big ole bag of chips and McDonalds quarter pounder with cheese and fries. But I didn’t. It was hard…very hard. Thanks to you guys and this thread and the PNP podcasts and the fact I had to weigh in today kept me straight! My drive home from work was quite comical…going past the fast food places…stopping in for gas and standing at checkout staring at the Twix bars…”Margie don’t do it you have to weigh in this week”….”don’t do it you have worked hard”. I chose not to and that is my NSV this week for sure!
Here are my stats for the month…looking forward to a better February with you awesome inspirational people!
January goals – weigh in on Fridays
OW – 276.6
Starting weight for January - 252.2
January GW – 246.2 (6lbs)
1/10 – goal 250.7 – 248.8
1/17 – goal 249.2 – 247.4
1/24 – goal 247.7-250.0
1/31 – goal 246.2-247.0
Total loss for January was 5.2
Going to be taking measurements tomorrow morning for the new month...excited to see what those look like because my clothes are a little loose!
-3 Workouts at the gym – I will work out at 6:30am on Mondays and Wednesdays. Fridays @ 4:30pm. – Didn’t get to the gym this week
- Hike or Bike ride on Saturday/Sunday – did a walk on Saturday
- Water intake – I will drink two 32 oz containers of water at work. Use my soda stream for the remaining 32 at home. 96+ ounces a day
- limit alcohol only for special occasions – No drinking this week!!
- Eat out only once a week –– didn’t eat out this week! (but there is a plan to do that tonight)
Have a wonderful weekend everyone! I hope I have time to get on and respond to some of your posts this weekend! @speyerj thanks for the recipes…keep um coming!
Thanks you as always to @RavenStCloud for making the new thread!

@mmccloy12, good for you for resisting temptation. So many times I feel like throwing in the towel too. But the I just keep doing what I've been doing. In part because its habit, but in large part because I know I have to add up my totals for the week here and post them - for everyone to see. The added accountability definitely helps. You did great this month.
@Savannah80 , you had an amazing month! And to think you were discouraged. I always find that when I finish my monthly update and reflect back on how the month went I'm so surprised. I actually do better than I think I did.
@Tarzan37 - 2 pounds is two pounds. You are probably just at the start of your next whoosh.
I'll post an update later today when I know whether I got my 10,000 steps in and stayed on plan for carbs and protein. So far so good.
It would be neat is we had a way to count up what everyone lost the month. Anyone want to tackle that? Not volunteering myself cause I should be working right now, not posting.6 -
April 2019 start weight: 397.7
January 2020 start weight: 300.3

An 8.4 pound loss for January! I'm thrilled, honestly. I definitely struggle with eating over my calorie goal, and as I lose weight, the amount I can overeat and still get results keeps getting smaller and smaller. For the first 7 months, really my only goal was "do better" and the weight was falling off, now I have to have more discipline and it's tough. But baby steps! & they're going in the right direction.
Great job sticking with it for another month everyone, and I'll see you in the February thread!!10 -

1/31: 285.8
Total loss: 14.0lbs
You guys, I killed it this month! Down 14 pounds, what a way to start the year. It has been YEARS since I've been able to lose more than 10 pounds. The most important change for me was not drinking my calories. No soda or alcohol really made a difference in my choices. I also logged my food everyday, even when I ate fast food or something I shouldn't. I did not eat perfect but I ate enough below my maintenance calories to see a loss. I don't expect to lose 14 pounds again next month, but I'll try lol. I am feeling so much better healthwise and mentally.
Next month I really want to focus on exercising again more regularly. I have a gym membership, I just need to take advantage. I'll talk more about that in the Feb thread. Thank you everyone for being the best. You guys helped so much in moments when I felt unmotivated or down.

GW: 160 (then reevaluate)
Glad I made it through this month. January was a bad month for me last year for some reason. I made it through the holidays and then I totally derailed.
@stefsc1 I know what you mean about the calorie amounts decreasing as you lose the weight. It definitely gets harder as you continue. I keep telling myself "baby steps" too. Baby steps in the right direction really do add up.
Now on to February. Hope to see everyone in the new thread!6 -
Official weigh-in day for me:
SW: 201.4 (1/6)
1/10: 200.8
1/17: 198.2
1/24: 200.6 (TOM)
1/31: 199.2
1st GW: 190
UGW: 140
Yay!! I'm going in the right direction - DOWN!! So for my goals for the month, I did reach my goal of exercising 3x/wk (I only missed one week of exercise), BUT.... I noticed that I'm not dying at 15 minutes of exercise anymore!! When I started I needed to take a minute or two at the 15 minute mark to rest so I could keep going for another 15 minutes and complete my half hour of exercise. Now, I actually start dying almost at the end of my half hour, and now I can do 35 or sometimes 40 minutes of exercise. YAY!!
I'm also drinking more water than before, I'm logging most days (weekends are still kind of iffy), and I'm weighing more foods for dinner which has usually been my source of frustration and me quitting (breakfast and lunch are way easier to weigh and log).
Definitely being accountable in this group and reading everybody's posts has helped me so much this time around on not giving up so easily.
Now... February.8 -

My goals for January were:- Cardio for 45-60 min, 5-6 times a week, 3 of the sessions Couch-to-5K workouts – Did this all month! I only missed one day: this past Monday.
- Advance in the Couch-to-5K plan to Week 3 workouts. I started Week 4 this week! I would have loved to make week 4 the goal, but if I’d decided to work on week 3 for another week it wasn’t going to be something I’d achieve.
- Core exercises at least 3 times a week – did this, and added some other exercises to boot!
- Lose 3 inches in my measurements – only two inches down. I don’t measure many areas that other people do – legs and arms are a great example of areas I don’t measure.
- Lose 7 pounds – done, but it felt harder than it needed to be this month.
- Take better care of my skin in hopes it will start to regain its shape. I did this consistently.
Milestones seen in January:- Finished the month in onederland. Was only over 200 lbs for 5 days of the month!
- Re-achieving my 100-pound weight loss from my original weight-loss efforts in 2013-2014!
- Signing up for the Broad Street Run in May – forgot this registration always opens on February 1st! At 12:00 AM, so technically at the end of January. I’m keeping my fingers crossed!
Ready to get out of this long month and move on to February!
Bonus: I took pictures of myself in the coat, and in the dress I got back into. Only place with a good full-length mirror was the gym at my Mom’s condo. I know with the black it’s hard to see exactly what’s going on!

Lost a little more than goal and am very happy. With all the inflammation and crap going on this month who knew how things would turn out. Hoping next month my body will cooperate and I can do much better on exercise goals. Looking forward to a new month with everyone. Let's go get it!!
@torihudson6 I'm sorry to hear your not in a good place right now. Take care of yourself and do what you need to help pull through the current depression. Taking out frustrations in kickboxing and releasing all the good endorphins while doing so will help. Stay strong and positive.
@Queenshavemuscles Sorry about your ankle. Counting calories is the important thing to keep doing. Youtube has videos on seated exercise that you might like until you are back to normal.
@SaturnsbestMoon Way to go!!
@CupcakeCrusoe Aww thanks. When I first started a thread mentioned that measuring as accurately as possible would be a big advantage over servings (ie x amount of cup size or pieces). I decided if I'm going to do this and keep the weight off then I'm doing the best I can. You will find the right ones. Be sure to add gram to the search which helps when looking.
@heidiwebs Great loss for the month. Being honest with yourself in your logs and about the weight is very important. Just because we don't log it doesn't mean it wasn't eaten. Keeping that up and the exercise will definitely get you to the sexy self you are aiming for.
@Tarzan37 I'm happy you decided to do the check in. You got to see a nice loss and get a boost for your 3 days off. Even if it had been a gain or steady that would have been ok too. You've had some struggles with tom etc and those show up but aren't permanent. Enjoy your downtime.
@Savannah80 Congrats on your 14lb loss. That is a great 1st month drop.
@heatherhart You can do it. This group is wonderful for support, inspiration and ideas.
@theleadmare When I'm off for more than a day it does seem easier to tell myself, "eh one more day off won't matter". It doesn't of course in the weight loss as long as I'm counting calories. It does matter in how I feel and how hard it is to pick up where I left off. I know you have health issues like I do. Do you notice a difference in how your body feels with exercise vs none? After the initial workout soreness I'm noticing my muscles don't seem to hurt as much.
@mmccloy12 Very nice loss for the month. Goal or not that is wonderful. I'm so proud of your inner "good" self for winning those conversations. Building up our strength to resist those kind of urges plus learning how to not go whole hog on special weekends etc (props on that too) is what will lead to success.
@stefsc1 Great work! All those baby steps are paying off. You've came a long way and I have not doubt you will have the discipline to stay on track.
@sharpdust So happy for you!! Making those small changes really paid off. Eating "perfect" all the time isn't realistic so don't sweat it. Just keep eating at your set calories and enjoying what you eat. Proof is in the numbers.
@MuttiNM Congrats!! Last Jan may have been bad but this one was not. Keep it up.
@Lasmartchika Congrats! Awesome work on building up exercise stamina. Finally getting to the "not dying" stage is a big accomplishment.
@letmeinyoufuck You are doing wonderful. Keeping chipping at it.

@mmdeveau Fantastic month on loss and goals!! You are gorgeous in your new clothes!! I finally got around to getting a phone app so I could listen to PhitnPhat. I got started at the beginning last night. I think I'm going to listen to a new one and one or two from the start. That way I get the best of both worlds.

Thank you all for your supportive comments yesterday - it means so much!
Welcome @letmein, @heatherhart, @Queenshavemuscles, @heidiwebs, @VeggieMeg71 and @SaturnsbestMoon!! Glad you posted and please be sure to join us on the February thread where the fun will continue!
@torihudson6 sorry you have been feeling down. Find a way to take care of yourself; I know (not from recent experience! ) that intense exercise can be hard on your body and affect how you are feeling too.
@bluffgirl67 congratulations on hitting your goal this month; I know it has been a hard month but you did it, my friend!!
@mmdeveau congrats to you as well for such a strong January. You look amazing in your coat and dress; thank you for sharing the pics!!
@lasmartchika CONGRATS ON MAKING INTO ONEDERLAND!! I love that your energy and stamina is improving. As for those celebrations in February, my strategy is to try to eat a little better on the days before, during, and after those so I can enjoy them (not quite like I used to, but still).
@muttiNM you did a fantastic job this month!! 10 lbs is rock solid.
@sharpdust man, you really did kill it this month!! Happy for you and what a great foundation to build from for February! Hope you are feeling better.
@stefsc1 also sliding down the scale, what an impressive month! You are really inspiring!!
@speyerj looking forward to seeing your stats later today! But I have been so impressed with your consistency this month (well, always) - truly inspiring!!
@mmccloy12 you had a fantastic start to the year and great progress this month. I love that you are conquering those demons; learning how to handle all of those those situations is so key! PNP is teaching me a lot too!
@tarzan37 so glad you took a peek at the scale! I know you've had a rough few weeks and you are doing great. February is your month!!
@CupcakeCrusoe enjoy your run!! And thank you for the recipe.
@fitchick37 enjoy the parties and dance away!
@kali31337 I believe in you!!! Go get it!!
@savannah80 great job sticking with it; I know there is a temporary slump but wow, what a super month you had!!
@theleadmare I hear you on the exercise, I can pull myself out of a habit quickly, too. You've done a terrific job this month!
@L2HS what an impressive loss this month! Landslide!!
I know I have missed some of you but I have to get my son from school! I agree @speyerj that the progress this month was unprecedented!! Looking forward to February with you ladies!8 -
Way to go @aliciap0116 !!!! Momentum moving into February, I can't wait to share my 199 scale pic4

I missed January, and February but I’m here for March!!
Right now I’m 5’-9” and 253lbs. This is almost the heaviest I’ve been in my 44 years! Depression and stress has been keeping me down.... I let working two jobs interfere with my happiness as well.... BUT today I need to kick myself in the butt and stop this craziness and get moving!
I’m putting me first for a change and going to get to my goal of 150lbs!2 -
